Media websites, news websites and TV stations will market bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. If you have noticed from the last ATH, we still can see here and there talks about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general by various sources. People can still write blogs, create their videos and when you have some people with influence do this things even tell little about it more people will become aware. On the next ATH there is going to be even more talks about it. Banning ads is okay I guess as it eliminates a lot of phishing and scam advertising that we've been seeing all over the place.

ICOs still can do promotions through bounties and such things if they wanted to.

Twitter will ban cryptocurrency ads. Bitcoin is cryptocurrency, so it's problem not for ICO's only, but also for Bitcoin.
But direct influence will be not big, it mainly affect Bitcoin related services such as exchanges, wallets, shops and etc.

I don't think that twitter banning cryptocurrencies ads would anyway affect bitcoin. A lot investors are still buying bitcoin and its popularity is also increasing.

I think so they just do it because they have no income here. Do you advertise on social media with free of charge about social media. How much money do they have to lose? I think they're just looking for income to ban it :).

Exactly, it won't effect Bitcoin market because it will affect only ICO market but there are many other ways where people are investing. Already we have seen many advertising related projects has been launched their ICO through Blockchain, maybe people will start approaching those websites.

I hope that this will not gonna happen. Twitter is huge thing for ICO campaign one of the easiest way to promote bounties . For sure twitter will just make a regulation  about crypto currency how  to eliminate scammers but to the point that  they will ban crypto currency.

many social networks are beginning to ban advertising crypto world! I'm sure it's not just that! most likely they are pursuing their own profit! or simply they start to manage very large wallets! for example: many bankers do not like it, then they have their capitalization in bitcoin and the crypto market!

These mainstream medias don't want to be stained by some scam ICOs or any scheme that involves cryptocurrencies. And this is also for the safety of their subscribers / users which right. Bitcoin will not be affected by this because by now, even without advertisement, bitcoin is being talked about. New ICO's will be having a hard time now but they will be deserving if they manage to pull off and gain investors without the help of mainstream medias.

Is that a problem for bitcoin too or only ICO's ??
Last month, there's an issue regarding ICOs advertising being banned on Facebook and its on twitter now. I really don't know if there's a problem in ICOs but one thing that comes up to my mind is protecting the identity of people. Actually, bitcoin can be a source of danger because as you can see, it is really attractive in the eyes of people with bad intention. The thing is, does the advertising of ICOs in any other social media has been followed or not?

I don't really see this as a huge issue, I do not believe the advertising of ICOs is really a high quality or conversion means of advertising for these projects anyway. All these changes may just force the industry to become more professional in its approach.

Get yoyr facts straight. They don't necessarily banned all cryptocurrency ads on the social networking site. They only banned those cryptocurrency advertisements that seem to pose harm and thenones that seem very suspicious of a scam. Media only exaggerated tge news and told everyone that bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as wellcas advertisements were banned on twitter. Possibly to discourage investors.

Title: Re: Twitter banned cryptocurrencies Ads

There are two potential issues going on.

The first is the issue of trying to censor exposure to anything cryptocurrency related. It's possible that may be going on, though I rather doubt it, but even so, there remain multiple sources of information on all things cryptocurrency-related. Advertising on those sites tends to be better targeted anyway if it's crypto-related, so it seems that's where cryptocurrency ads will go.

The second issue is that within the cryptocurrency industry, sadly, there are lots of scams, including many ICOs, and those are the ones most likely to pursue advertising on more general sites like Twitter and Facebook. Those scams are a blight on our industry. I'm pretty sure that's the real intended target of censoring on the part of the big social media networks. Although I'm not advocating for complete removal of all such ads everywhere (free speech and all), quite frankly, any large site that does anything to reduce the amount of scam ads is doing the industry a favor. Hopefully our industry can get to the point of self regulating that.

It's sad that a lot of projects are scammers and the more such projects, the more people lose money and this makes a bad reputation for all ICOs and crypto-currencies. Facebook, Twitter and other companies are trying to protect people from losing money, so it prohibits advertising of all cryptocurrency! When there will be control and regulation of absolutely all projects, then they will allow advertising!

The problem with ICOs is that there are nor regulations in place. Companys need legal grounds to work on, so they need regulations they can work with. The more mainstream crypto coins will become, the more regulations will kick in and i guess the same goes for ICOs in the long run. So lets wait a year, hodl and see ;D

It can have an effect on the bitcoin prrice...obvoiusly any FUD that media creates has to have a bearing the prices of the crypto currencies. Also ICO's are definetely gonna get affected as it might affect the prices directly for the most obvious reasons.

Twitter has been a hub for the crypto advertisements and was much like the forum to promote the new offerings. So yes this ban will be affecting many ICOs. But sooner or later this was destined to happen because the regulators were keenly foolowing these scandals and their negative bearing. This had creaated a negative image in the minds of many people.

BTC is pretty much established and already have a following so I don't see it being affected as much. It's really the ICOs that are being targeted. Let's face it, many ICOs turned out to be scams and these companies don't want to be associated with these. I see it more like how Youtube demonetized videos that their advertisers see as "not family-friendly".

Some may see conspiracy, I see it as business as usual. In time as regulations come out reducing the chances of a successful scam, they might allow ads back. It's one their ways of making money after all, at least Google and FB.

Twitter banning Cryptocurrency ads can and will take a major down toll on the Cryptocurrency markets. Twitter has grown overtime to be a major tool in Cryptocurrency advertisements. I know a lot of bounty hunters that do depend and prefer twitter campaigns to other social media. I do hope there will be a reconsideration later on, as regards their backing out.

Where are your sources about this matter?

Up until this time Facebook and Youtube are showing some of ICO's Ads. and I really don't know why it still happening even though there are rumors spreading that they will not cater any advertisement about it.
If Twitter will do the same then Twitter campaigns will be still there doing the thing for this Ads. or they will be banning also the Twitter accounts that is involve in sharing related ICOs tweets.

Social Medias are one of the best platforms in the Internet that can showcase advertisement and without a doubt this will really affect the incoming ICOs.

Most solution comes when there is problem. Telegram and reddits are still relevant with cryptocurrency for now and it should used maximally.

Social websites are banning advertisements related to cryptocurrencies. This is not a big problem for both Bitcoin and ICOs. Yes, this will affect the promotion strategies of Bitcoin exchanges or ICOs, but the affect will be little.. We still have many platforms and forum where anyone can discuss anything about Bitcoins. People can still write blogs on cryptocurrencies. ICOs can approach those websites for displaying their advertisements. Also, this will neither stop the investors from investing in cryptocurrencies.

Thing is this could be the start of a more harsh pressure on crypto by the social networks. If they completely ban pages and announcements no starting coin can survive.

They won't ban posts or pages dedicated to crypto, because if you don't strictly search for it yourself, you won't be seeing it, so it's not a problem. Ads however may pop up everywhere, even if people aren't necessarily active in that specific field, regardless of how advanced their algorithm is, and that's something they no longer want to happen. I don't completely agree with these measures, but I do understand the external pressure forcing them to do this. On the other hand, the majority of the crypto related ads were pointing at malicious entities, and that is now gone. Maybe, maybe if crypto gets more regulated, these policies might change for the good, but that's something that could take years and years before we see it change....

Such a ban will not affect anything. In any case, it should not affect the rate of bitcoin and other crypto currency. This ban on ads should only clear this network of fraudulent ads. The ICO itself should not suffer from this. because there are many more ways to advertise their projects, including on this forum. From this, the significance and image of this forum only increases and this is one of the positive moments of such a ban.

I don't think that twitter banning cryptocurrencies ads would anyway affect bitcoin. A lot investors are still buying bitcoin and its popularity is also increasing.
I think it will affect. in fact this news alone will affect the price of crypto because many investors will start panicking which will result from them withdrawing their fund. if you see the crypto market now you will see the price of bitcoin is now below 8k. just wait and see what will happen when the media start to write about this but on the long run the market will adapt to this situation and the coin will start growing again. when one door of opportunity close the other one opens. twitter, facebook and google banning crypto ads will not be the end of cryptocurrency

So, its good news for bounty hunters. ICO project should raise the token allocation for signature campaign.

the prohibition of bitcoin ads on twitter, google and facebook will give you a slice on bitcoin prices, this means that twitter, google and facebook do not believe in bitcoin, more and more do not believe in bitcoin so the future of bitcoin will be less good, I hope this kind of situation do not last long and I hope also twitter immediately revoke the decision or the plan because bitcoin has many benefits and advantages

True, twitter now follows facebook and google to ban crypto ads, but that's just in the beginning, affecting bitcoin prices, bitcoin will definitely go back up again in the next few weeks, even though social media prohibits crypto advertising, it will not affect investors for investment , they can still find information about crypto, on the web or on this forum.

constantly unpleasant news. Countries are afraid for their banks and their own currency. Trying to crush the crypto market, but it's all useless. The fact that Twitter prohibits advertising of crypto currency. first of all it will hit the ICO and the development of the blockchain system. In general, this is very unpleasant news for the market.

Its only happen only on ICOs. After many happen scam ICOs, some social media platform banning ICOs ads to protect their user from being deceived. That will effect to start up with good project want to lauch their ICO
i hope so, from another hand i can say that this bans of all cryptocurrencies from social media it's reasonable because of many fake projects which inflicted heavy losses on people, we are parties of this community of crypto, we have to find a way to ban all the unoriginal developers.

There will be an effect from the banning as its going to reduce the number of platforms advertisement can be done. This means it will be harder to promote and reach a larger audience. It's suggested that i will be more of a problem for ICO's because they rely more on advertising to get their message out. Also, a lot of the Bitcoin ads that were being made were more scams than legit adverts.

They don't necessarily ban all cryptocurrency ads in the social networking site twitter, what they did is banned the ads that seems to suspicious to let it pass and the ads that they deem are coming from ICOs that are reported for scamming their users. Twitter already banned bitcoin and every cruptocurrency ads after google announced it early this month. Because of this, bitcoin prices are going low. However I believe that this prices will still go up. I think this ban only affects bitcoin prices not all ICO because ethyrium is already taking the front stage
All such action do really hit crypto coins hard but the poor thing is, still bitcoin or altcoins could not be eliminated from the face of Earth. These have the potential to survive even under the toughest situations, they can take up all the hatred from twitter and will keep on growing anyways. Actually, there is nothing new about this banning. Many countries have been doing such lame actions against crypto currencies only because it can hurt their power and control.  Just because they can’t peek into other’s doing anymore. They only banned those they deem unhealthy for their community and tge ones that they deem are very suspicioua and untrustworthy. Some ICOs and Bitcoin-affiliated services could still be seen advertising in the social networking site. Media juat exaggerated the situation in hopes of discouraging a lot of potential investors.

The Twitter ban as it is now only stops ICO from placing ads on the Twitter platform.

You can still post about ICO's ... bounties are not yet effected.

I expect Twitter to ban you from posting the promotion of ICO's  shortly.

You may still be able to RT about the product of service at ICO provides  but noting about Token sales, or ICO itself.

Yes it does not really affect the price of crypto, but we know there are many projects that advertise it on the largest social media is twitter. I think twitter is very helpful for crypto growth, because there used to be a lot of crypto ads on twitter and there are lots of altcoins that run their promotions on twitter. With this prohibition the crypto space will become narrower and crypto must have a new alternative that can build crypto become more developed and more popular.

People are still able to write blogs, make their videos, and when you have some influential people do these even talk less about it, more people will become aware of it. Banning advertising is okay I guess since it eliminates a lot of scams and advertising scams we've seen all over. These mainstream media do not want to be subjected to some fraudulent ICO or any program involving electronic money. Bitcoin will not be affected by this because now, even without advertising, bitcoin is being talked about.

As far as i know, facebook revised its first decision about the banned thing and just ban the ads of ICOs but not the bitcoin it self, or somewhat they just add standards on allowing ads to be launched. Maybe these those social media did not see the real value of accepting bitcoin as of this moment. Soon they will realize it and it may be late, but atleast they do. but for bitcoin, it seems to be no problem, Because bitcoin is almost famous in all countries and only villagers who do not know the internet do not understand bitcoin.

At the moment, many social networks are beginning to prohibit advertising crypto currency. I am sure that most likely they pursue their own profits or they simply start to manage large purses. And I doubt that this will affect bitcoin.

We have seen all over. Bitcoin will not be affected by this because now, even without advertising, bitcoin is being talked about. Perhaps these social media outlets do not see the true value of accepting bitcoins at this time. Up to this point, bitcoins increase and that may be a factor for them to realize the possibility of bitcoin.

The news about the banning of social media about the cryptocurrency really makes it in a bad state for a reason that it discourage people's interest and hope to try it out and joining in here. Twitter banning the ads about crypto will make an impact to the user, potential user, and the market and it will be a negative effects.

Social media in recent time have being climbing down on cryptocurrency ads with Facebook new policy which does not allow cryptocurrency ads posted on users timeline, this will definitely affects the market greatly as it will not allow for awareness to be created for new projects and development in the cryptocurrency network. But this is also due to the high rate of scam projects in the entire system, but I know it will not take long before a policy to cumb that will be established.

Google went bank on their decision, so did facebook! Twitter only wants it to be on record that they did ban cryptocurrency ads, I think this ban is so unnecessary! And about the effect in this community?maybe is some instances yes but it will only take short time, but in long run people will be thankful about whats this great media sites provide for them.and i believe that a good project dont really need those advertisements instead the dev and team will povide this for the investors

Three internet giants, Twitter, Google, Facebook banned cryptocurrency ads on their pages. Indirectly affect people about cryptocurrency. But their policy is not without reason, they might prepare their own crypto money, because seeing the potential that exists in particular bitcoin that is popular throughout the world makes them tempted to enter the cryptocurrency business. Or it could be that they do not like cryptocurrency due to anonymous factors so that  misused by criminals.

It seems to me that cryptocurrency is already quite well recognized and those people who want to invest in ICO projects are not particularly interested in advertising on Twitter or Facebook. ICO projects are not household appliances. Having seen the advertisements of the ICO project, not everyone decides to follow the link and invest in the project. Especially if he does not understand at all in this area. It seems to me that those people who invest in ICO are quite well versed in cryptocurrency. And it is unlikely that they make their decisions based on advertising in the social networks.

Twitter has been on the losing end of an ongoing battle with scammers who are taking advantage of the platform's user base to steal crypto coins. However, the company revealed that it has implemented some measures in an attempt to reduce the frequency of these scams and better protect its users and ads.

The social media platform known to limit discussion to 140 characters has fought a growing trend in which cybercriminals kidnap accounts - often verified accounts - of big brands, big celebrities, and executives and entrepreneurs in the cryptocurrency sector, providing spam ads.

If it is true, Twitter prohibits the use of cryptocurrency ads, it will certainly have an impact on bitcoin or ICO, but it will not affect the existence of cryptocurrency, especially the existence of bitcoin. But the fact is, to this day, advertisements for cryptocurrency use can still be done through Twitter, meaning that until now there has been no prohibition on the use of cryptocurrency advertisements made by Twitter. Something very positive, that Twitter in the end did not prohibit the use of cryptocurrency ads, and of course made the cryptpcurrency stronger and better known, and could influence the rising price of its cryptocurrency  against bitcoin, and ICO could still run well.

After the facebook banned the ads of cryptocurrency and now in twitter again, Ill think it was difficult to those people participate in social media campaign because we don't know yet if they are cannot post in the twitter because of banning in twitter account. But maybe it was only a fake news so just continue to post.
Twitter took that policy to avoid the misuse of cryptocurrency, because it was anonymous so that it could not be accounted for, and Twitter did not want to be part of the problem. In its official website Twitter only says it doesn't want to be involved with people who cheat.
