If you're in Japan or just want to chat with Japanese-speaking bitcoiners, join the Tokyo Bitcoin Group on Facebook. Title: Re: How come there is no Japanese local forum? If you're in Japan or just want to chat with Japanese-speaking bitcoiners, join the Tokyo Bitcoin Group on Facebook. Japan has a huge population and Satoshi (might be japanese). I'm surprised there aren't many japanese people here, whereas german russian spanish and chinese sections are pretty big. Title: Re: How come there is no Japanese local forum? Post by: Zangelbert Bingledack on October 29, 2013, 09:15:49 AM Not enough Japanese are interested in Bitcoin (yet). Quasi-mainstream awareness in Japan started about a month ago with the Gigazine article. If there's a giant bubble starting now, it could grow into a full-on craze, but otherwise it may take a while. When Japan does enter, it will enter BIG.
Hehe, もし日本語で討論などしたかったらこのスレでしようか? Title: Re: How come there is no Japanese local forum? Post by: keatonatron on October 29, 2013, 09:26:58 AM Japan is very safe (no fear of break-ins), no large banks have defaulted recently [ever?] (no fear of losing your pension/savings), and Japanese people never need to move money outside Japan (bank transfers complete within an hour, and only cost $3).
All of the fears and needs that are driving interest in Bitcoin hardly exist in Japan, so no one has yet seen the need to explore it. :-\ |
