Title: We'd like to recognize Mooshire as an outstanding community member /s
Post by: SatoshiDICE_PR on October 31, 2013, 10:44:02 PM
We received this wonderful and supportive PM from Mooshire just now. Our response to him includes his own quotes we stumbled upon from another site's chat room earlier today...

Thanks Mooshire for being such an outstanding member of the community  ;)

Hello, is the promo over yet? I assume not because you haven't posted that it's over and since nobody can access the server right now. Hope you get it back up. Also, I replied to a support email. Good luck with fixing it!

Hello Mooshire,

<Mooshire> Good, made half a bitcoin off of SD's promo.
<Mooshire> Currently sitting at 5.82 and some odd invested
<Mooshire> It's only availible outside US, but I gamed it a bit.
<Mooshire> I switched from switzerland to netherlands to britain
<Mooshire> doog: I just made half a bitcoin off of silly SD promo.
<Mooshire> All I had to do was make new accounts and free gambling lol
<Mooshire> I'll have to game it a bit more then.
<Mooshire> Yeah rann, i'll just ask when it starts working.

You're the reason others can't have nice things.

-SD

I don't know why these type of sites offer free coins, they will just get abused.

We know it gets abused, but hopefully there are a few people out there of good character who appreciate it.

It does suck that there are scum bags who ruin it for everyone I guess.

Obvious PR is obvious.

That said, fair play to anyone running any kind of bitcoin site. It's a lot harder work than it should be.

The best part is that Mooshire is also 13–15 years old, I forget how old. Meaning he shouldn't be gambling period.

We already had SD spamming the blockchain and now its the cause of underage gambling addicts making fake accounts spamming this forum with nonsense empty posts (and abusing their signatures for more gambling advertising than can be found in Las Vegas).  Yeah Im really really sorry for your loss SatoshiDICE_PR.

Hello, coming here to clear the dust.

Yes, I am 15. I don't normally gamble, but this was a chance for me to increase my bitcoin holdings, something I'm always on the lookout for.
I made two accounts. (PR, feel free to look at these)

Mooshire
(The other one I can't look at right now, because your site is down. I'll post it here when I can look at it)

Also, I do not gamble on Just-Dice. I am invested. My account was locked a while ago at my request by the site operator.

While I was betting, I bet .1 the first time on the account Mooshire, and won. Proceeded to get up a bit, then withdrew. The second one I lost a smaller bet first, then bet the remainer and won, and gambled up a bit more and withdrew.

Neither time did I actually claim the .1 BTC promo, because my net winnings never fell to -.1

Hope this clears things up. Rant about underage gambling, I couldn't care less. I have no sympathy for a company who has bloated the blockchain so much, wasting hard drive space all over america.

Public recognizing a 15 year old internet gambler from America.

Can you comment if you are related to ELRA?

Is he being called 15 because he says he is?

If I had scammed some BTC from a gambling website, maybe I would say I was 15 so they wouldn't want to pursue it.

This is only an observation; I've only read this thread.

I don't want dox -  satoshi dice can take the hit, I'm sure.

I think they are related to the penny stock scam company 'Elray Resources, Inc. (ELRA)'.

Not sure though, but seem possible after this post. I feel bad trying to short their stock after a bitcoin post, but it looks so bad.

Leave him a negative trust rating?

This is exactly the type of behaviour I think 0-risked negative ratings are for. Not only did he betray SD's trust by doing this, but he failed to correct (or even admit) his mistakes.

I'm not sure what mistakes there are to correct or admit. I went to the website intending to make accounts to game the system, ended up only making two, and didn't even use a single one of their promo bit-dimes. Is this what you are looking for?

I fully support SatoshiDice's decision to bring Mooshire's irresponsible behaviour to light. It is clear that even with this public posting, Mooshire still fails to admit fault:

Quote
I didn't exploit nothing lol, I gambled fair and square. I may have had the intent to game the system [. . .]

I have sent Mooshire a negative trust rating, as he is definitely a character I will not be doing business with in the future. By releasing this to the public, SatoshiDice has potentially saved myself and other Bitcoin traders from a dangerous and dishonest person motivated solely by greed.

Consequently, I do not believe this action to be at all uncalled for. Companies, large or small, have a duty to protect the public from people who do harm.

Leave him a negative trust rating?

Dishonest intent is dishonestly, plain and simple.

It's interesting that people think we're "a big company"  :)

We have an automated giveaway that we had to tighten up countless times to ensure that people don't keep creating accounts to get the promo over and over again. We had to do many things like one per IP, one per twitter account + twitter account verification. Even with all that effort to get our free 0.005, people still keep trying. You could always implement something similar.

But there is a huge difference here, I believe Satoshidice will honor its promotion even if a single user manages to use all they set out for the promotion. You, on the other hand, gave the "free" 0.005 to some user and now he can't withdraw it (which you proudly deny). Anyone running a promotion should be aware of these possible situations, otherwise you shouldn't be doing it at all.

Its funny that people think a just because large corporations become sterile and inhuman, (often to legally protect themselves) other smaller operations must follow suit by choice, Bitcoin's pseduo anonymity and lack of legal recourse should mean we can keep be human longer.

I don't think there is any business small enough to be deemed acceptable to publicly post a response to their 15yr old gambler. Some things are better left unsaid.  This just makes it that much easier for the SEC/FBI. Arrogant + Bitcoin = SR.  Trust me they are itching for a reason to steal more coins to sell to Google Ventures and brandish BTC as 15year old gambling money.

Red Flag here. American 15 year old gambling online. Despite the IP block (which is retarded)

They should spend less time trolling the JD chat and more time fixing their site. just saying

This logic is equivalent to not revealing a scam because it will bring negative publicity. Have you ever considered the alternative: have Mooshire simply stop, since what he's doing is illegal?
