Posts and Activity was the only requirement for rank up-gradation. And few months ago Merit was introduced as a requirement. Now today I am surprised to see lot of stuff under my stats

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that "fMerit" word. Yeah newbies are gonna say "Fuck Merit" and that gives you fMerit point - did you people know that?

In this case, finding out that this is just an April Fool's joke is a disappointment.

I guess it is part of an April Fool's joke as there are no buttons to click to add those "FMerits", "Politeness", "Imagination" and the rest unlike the Merit system. I got to say that the joke got me as I was scrolling through some threads and I noticed a lot of new stuff under Activity and Merit, first thing I did was to visit the "Meta" section and find out there are no official announcement about the system. Also I take a quick look at my profile page and there was nothing new. I was shook at first but its all good now. Nicely done :)

Oh my god took me about a minute to just stare at the new stats and rank requirements and was immidiately rush in meta section. Just forgot what day today, actually I was too busy about the easter sunday activity celebration lol.

Guys, I am beginning to think it wasn't the usally April fool day game because I saw some of Theymos reply to a post. He is serious about this.

He is serious about this but most people aren't taking him serious because of the day he implemented it.

I was astonished also to see some "marks" under my name, and thinking it's April fool today only to find out it's true, and it's real, the next thing to do now is how does some of them works ...

I see these new set of stats on my profile right now and that brought me to this thread. Can someone properly explain fMerits, karma and immagination, and how they count, please.

Okay, it that April Fool's joke or is it something legit? :D I really hope that ranks won't be dependable only on Merit in terms of further progress. Is there an admin thread, where this is a bit more in-depth explained or ? :D

I suppose we will all find out on April 2nd if it is a joke, if all the new ones disappear....  ;)

It is definitely interesting to speculate some of the meanings and calculations, either way!

The real joke here is that these stats are, in fact, real.

if you want to be polite , use sir and please , and then your polite point will higher and higher :D

You will surely get enlightened tomorrow or some day within this week like what CntryBoy said. If this system is still here after a while, we will know that theymos is serious about it. I admit that I got freaked out when I have first logged in today and am surprised to see a lot of numbers on everybody's stats but thinking about what day it is today, it probably must be an april fools joke only.

Why is this post earn merit?  Where is justice for this?  Lol  :P

fMerit - how many times you said something bad about Merit system.
Coins - special coins issued by Bitcointalk (ICO soon)
Karma- you will get karma (+ or -) for bad or good behavior on the forum
Imagination - issued by moderators, no rules attached as for now
Politeness- never try to argue with staff or other people

This is not a joke and is real as confirmed by the admin. You better not laugh at his decisions or your politeness meter will go down. :) I think I was little harsh on you so sorry (actually I do not want my politeness meter to go down as well). It would be interesting to see other members removing the harsh words they used in past posts to improve their polite score. :)

I also surprised to see that under in my stats, and I don't have idea on what is the purpose of this.
The other said it's a joke because this day is the April fools, I'm gonna wait after this day if it's really joke.

Whether it's a joke or not I also confused what is the mean reason for these having a stat, well, let's see what will happen after this implementation by sir theymos.
Frankly speaking, those new rule system implemented did not absorb in my mind what is the purpose. lol
Hopefully, it brings us a fairly way of rank up system.

I guess you are right, especially on fMerit. I noticed this new order a few hours after I made a new trade on how the Merit system has fared so far, and my fMerit stood at around 300 at that time. A few hours later it pumped to over 700. I feel like I walked myself into some trouble. Now I know that Merit is the best thing ever in this forum. :)

Based on your understanding about fMerit. I really don't think that it is the basis of fMerit. So it means that you said something bad about Merit 128 times? And why the hell I have 166 fMerit in my profile? I haven't said anything bad about Merit, Seriously.
Actually, I don't know if guys also noticed it. My fMerit points decreased in unknown reason. Earlier I have 327 fMerits but now I only have 166 fMerit points.

It makes me feel like I really need to find out how the equation works, because I have no idea how it fluctuates (or it is just a bug that's why is decreased earlier).

There's something we still didn't know about this new rank requirement. Better to keep updated about it or else I'm gonna missed something.

Maybe it's just a joke from sir Theymos but IMO I still think that it's real and will remain forever in this forum. Don't you guys think Theymos spend a lot of time and his IQ just to create a joke like this? I don't think so. LOL. Anyway, I still don't understand all these stat, especially fMerit, it seem like really difficult to calculate although Theymos said it's easy to calculate :))

Definitely an April fools joke, as comparing with some of my friends on Bitcointalk the stats make no sense. It's a nice gimmick though.

Only theymos can do such unexpected things and ofcourse it could be not just a joke but it could be necessary. I look forward that it is all about NEW THINGS TO MAKE THE FORUM GREAT AGAIN.

The fact is those stats have not shown in user profile. Why is that? Good signal for big joke in April the first. Imagine how the system works without stats attached in profiles. Basically, ideas behind new rank system, which has not presented clearly by now, are really terrible.
I guess after this post my imagination will decrease a bit, but I don't care because I believe that all those stats will disappear when we jump to 2nd of April.

Besides the new stats system I noticed the "Trust" section has disappeared...

oh my God!! my heart pump up when i saw the fmerit. I didn't know it is a joke.

Chill just relax, we wait for further announcement of sir theymos and hopefully, this new rule now will really help us to rank up.
I also confused with my stats and I don't know if that is right, we really need more explanation regarding this or just this is a fool rule to us only sir theymos know.

I seriously hope the "ranking up" isnt accelerated.

It took you just two years, but you did not have to take merit into consideration! :D And now people still need 2 years to get to that activity as yours, but they still are going to need merits, which are rarely given.
Now, with this merit system it is a lot harder to get from one rank to the upper one, because simply because the people are not meriting, just saying thanks in a reply and that's it! The progression should be, imo, based on time spent online in the forum + post count, but structured in a way, that you cannot get from newbie to hero/full member quickly!

Anybody want to buy some Imagination points?  :D

This are just joke. Even if you try "Conway's Game of Life" you will laugh at our self that you actually did it. Lets wait until the April fools fever subsides. Maybe we would have a clear vision on it and wake up from this dreams.  :o

No "Trust" has not disappeared .You can't notice the Trust on each of the sections. For example in the 'Meta' section you can not see the user trust rating, but it is visible in the 'Economy' section. There is no change on the "Trust".

Yeah I just saw this, it's pretty funny, it reminds me of the the stats for a role playing character, like Dungeons and Dragons, Final Fantasy videogames, Diablo... Looks like we will need to max out our characters to impossible levels next in order to participate in signature campaigns. Time to start training.

Whether this is a joke or not someone obviously put a lot of time and efforts into it and I think it gives a very different flavor and might shine the dullness of the forum.  If it is in fact a joke, perhaps theymos should consider keeping it for a while.  It's fun to look at these criteria and ponder on them.

It probably is April fools, still it took a bit of work to write that code to asses politeness etc, well time will show (we have to wait for an ann of requirements to level up) Interesting idea it actually could work ... given enough time to for tweeks and tricks

They are using special algorithm and you don't say anything wrong about merits but you think FMERIT times about merits and they can see this from your recent posts after they run the algorithm.  :o ::) ;D

This is a pretty good april fools joke imo , as i was pretty confused by it and shocked that we had to go through even more hoops to rank up.

I'm not gonna lie, I actually was thinking this would be pretty cool even though it is a bit ridiculous. It is now past April first and is still there. The stuff is probably calculated using a random generator multiplied with our activity level or something. I definitely was fooled by it. To be fair though, it was April 2nd when I first saw it.

I think we should get rid of merit. Nobody uses it and it hasn't made the forum any different than the old way of leveling up. Just my opinion though.
