They can try, but they wont succeed. The whole concept of decentralization is what will protect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from governments. They are trying to delay the inevitable!!! Change is coming, they will lose their grip on the world and we will all have equal chances to succeed...

many people and governments want to destroy bitcoin because they see it will destroy the country's currency because of the many restrictions and regulations they make and want to slowly stop it and this will not be easy because I assume that bitcoin is very strong and many countries are using it and up to now not some are harmed even bitcoin brings a lot of cool new winds in industry and business and I hope that the government will soon legalize it ;)

bitcoin is an advance technology, it is decentralized. But the regulations about bitcoin may affect the price of bitcoin.

on the scale of the country concerned, they may be able to minimize the bitcoin space. but it will not just close the chances of using bitcoin in the country. technology continues to grow, they can not shut the internet completely. many avenues can be done to keep doing bitcoin transactions, such as the use of VPNs, proxies, asset sales in overseas markets. it sounds illegal and criminal, but that's the reality that the movement of bitcoin will not be dammed.

Governments may try, but they cannot succeed.
Because the idea of bitcoin is decentralized, no government can ban it.

The ban does not destroy bitcoin. It seems to me that bitcoin can be destroyed by legalization. It seems ridiculous. But I can explain everything. People are attracted by decentralization and deregulation of cryptocurrency. Many people are now faced with the problems on the exchanges because of the regulation. Do you think this will add to the popularity of bitcoin?

Yes they can, especially with how they can ban and create laws which make bitcoin unappetizing to the public. Which makes the stock of bitcoin lower and lower into the cryptocurrency market. With that said even if the cryptocurrency are decentralized it is still affected by a lot of factors which are also dictated by the terms set by this world and if a considerable number of governments and places even corporations does this then bitcoin can surely be dropped

The simple reason that they won't succeed is that bitcoin is a centralized coin. So with the availability of internet service, a hodler can still have an access despite the restrictions.

Maybe they could.
But why would they want to destroy it? If they only regulate it, they can tax it heavily, so they will have a huge income and they don't need to do anything but collecting the taxes.
If they ban it and want to destroy it, they won't be able to do that in the end and also they won't have any tax, any income from bitcoin transactions or profits.

no

the only thing they can do is restrict the movement from FIAT to crypto
or "punish" in the form of taxes people when they move crytpo back into FIAT.

The key is FIAT, that is all they can control, not crypto.

I think hard on governments around the world, what is the reason the government forbids Bitcoin?
If I think Bitcoin does not harm all countries so why Bitcoin should be banned, the question is why the new government recently forbade bitcoin to grow, that we know that bitcoin has been going on for quite a while, even where the government at a time when bitcoin prices are still cheap, and there is no ban from the government, whether the government is urged by the banks around the world, so bitcoin growth is not too widespread, of course not, even more and more new users to join Bitcoin ...

These government could stop the growth of bitcoin momentarily and i have not seen any major governments taking a stance against bitcoin, some of the Asian countries have mixed response according to the region but they cannot shut the network but they can make things difficult for the users to trade smoothly.

What kind of destruction are we talking about here? As for complete shutdown of bitcoin in a country, no, it simply cannot happen. Legal trades and the likes might face these kind of bans but the overall usage of bitcoin in a country would still be operation since there isn't a central server or node that can issue a blacklist on all IP addresses belonging to a certain country. So yeah, you may not be able to send and receive money that came from bitcoin in a legal and allowed way however you can still do P2P trading if such a scenario ever happened to your country.

I do not think it's easy for the government to destroy bitcoin, so many governments want to try to destroy but bitcoin still stands as strong as this, bitcoin is not dependent on government because bitcoin is unregulated and can be owned by anyone with a decentralized system.

BTC invests too much, and it is easier for the government to destroy individual confidence than to destroy it.

In their view, BTC is no different from gold, real estate or apple stock.

The value of BTC comes from the user's confidence.

You should remember that Bitcoin is not under the control of anyone, not by any organization or government, so it can not be destroyed by any individual or entity, it is only Destroy only when no one deals cryptos anymore. The government can ban cryptos, and that affects the rate of the cryptocurrencies market only!

Right. No one is capable of destroying bitcoin since it is not controlled by any government or high officials in the country. The government may banned it but they can't stop the people from using bitcoin and making investments in bitcoin. It will be only destroyed when people decided not to use bitcoin anymore in their daily transactions.

I absolutely agree with you, I don't know either why they always open up topics that previously discussed before. We know the fact that it's easier to directly ask compare to conduct some research, maybe that's their reason behind it. But in my opinion, this is not a good habit at all because it provides spoonfeeding. Well, it's not my business anymore, i just continue answering their questions because all I want is to help them.

Going back to OP's question, it is impossible for a government of a particular country to ban crypto worldwide. What they can only do is to give regulations or even ban it also in a sense that countrymen can't convert it into their fiat, that's it. Restrictions of cryptos can only be implemented within the sovereignty of a country.

Yes I agree with. There are governments who are looking bitcoin as illegal but it is obvious that it is not because bitcoin is not against the law. They just misunderstand what bitcoin is. They can't destroy bitcoin without a valid reason. And I think there are also a great number of people who supports bitcoin because we experience how helpful it is to us.

They can't destroy bitcoin but they can definitely ban bitcoin and everything that is related to it. Like those countries were bitcoin is banned (Thailand, China, India, Germany, Bolivia, Russia - not sure if there are others), the citizens doesn't have any choice but to obey or transfer to other countries were they can use bitcoin. What I am not sure of is that if they can still access their coins even if bitcoin is banned in their county.

It is impossible that the government can destroy the bitcoin. We all knownthat bitcoin is decentralized, it came from a blockchain technology. Not unless they have an advance technology that can destroy the blockchain. They know that bitcoin has a lot pf advantages and especially in economic growth of the country but they choose to be blind because they are thinking that maybe bitcoin will wipe away the traditional currency that we have and they are controlling.

Destroying bitcoin? You mean breaking down every bitcoin's that's in their jurisdiction? There's no way to destroy bitcoin that's why they are stopping the use of it because it's decentralized, nobody controls the supply and it's number is already there until it fully fills the whole 21 Million supply. I wonder what type of destruction is in your mind, you should elaborate it.

a ban on bitcoin by the government could have a negative effect on bitcoin, but it can not destroy bitcoin. bitcoin growth is influenced by investor demand for bitcoin, world economic conditions, political issues as well as laws and government restrictions in it. if all those factors are likely to be bitcoin will be destroyed, but if the government ban on bitcoin then I think it will not destroy bitcoin although it can affect the growth of bitcoin selling value.

No government could not stop an individual to invest in bitcoin. THe system is composed of worldwide investors and even if one county could be able to put a stop in investing or joining bitcoin but still bitcoin will operate. Somehow government are only doing an advise about bitcoin risk however most of the individuals who are investing bitcoin are having good time with bitcoin. So they could no be able to put a stop of an individual to invest in bitcoin. The same thing if a country will ban cryptocurrency in their area but people who are used in doing crypto will still be able to invest and do bitcoin or cryptocurrency because they could not be able to trace those people that will do bitcoin investment. If the government can trace will there are many of them to trace so you can still make bitcoin investment and had a little chance to get caught by the government authority.

I think government should support with bitcoin through taxing it to generate revenue for the development of a certain country and to the people as well. Government should see the good effect that bitcoin brought to the people who are engage with it because the lives of the many becomes better.

Some countries are boycotting bitcoins for the time being. I don't think they want to destroy bitcoins. Their boycott is just to suppress the development of bitcoin, because they worry that bitcoin will replace the functions of many industries, which will reduce their control of these industries. Like banking, there are many functions that can be replaced by encrypted currencies.

Fortunately, very few countries have taken steps to ban cryptocurrencies to date. But the threat is legitimate. Governments might not be able to prevent all cryptocurrency transactions, but they can significantly discourage their use. With this in mind, we should continue to push for choice in currency. We should continue to explain the benefits of financial privacy and stateless monies. However, we should also support sensible regulation that would preserve most of the benefits from cryptocurrencies while eliminating the major justifications for outright bans. It is a second-best solution. In a world with powerful governments, it might be the best one can hope for.

The government of any state can take an official decision to ban the passage of bitcoin on its territory. However, it can not destroy bitcoin. It will not even be able to fully control the fulfillment of its decision to prohibit the passage of bitcoins. People vseravno will use it, using the Internet, which is forbidden even more difficult. The government can significantly complicate the use of bitcoin if it simultaneously prohibits the work of crypto-exchange exchanges, exchangers and Internet sites on its territory where the problems of crypto currency are discussed. However, bitcoin is an electronic monetary system of a peer-to-peer network, which does not require the participation of third parties and any transactions can be committed by citizens directly. Therefore, bitcoin is almost impossible to destroy.

Governments can ban cryptocurrencies, because they're being pushed by financial institutions who are afraid bitcoin might take over. But the authorities realize the value of crypto and blockchain, so they may be not that keen on eliminating this new technology. They will regulate and tax cryptocurrencies, but they will not deliberately destroy bitcoin.

Not a chance, it is something the people want and the governments cannot stop it. They can only make things difficult for it's population but it will be a backwards step for their country.

this question is not even relevant anymore as no government or their organization is interested in destroying bitcoins , over the past couple of months what we have see is where governments and even well established reputable companies have taken a positive stance on bitcoins , its clear now to everyone that crypto currencies will in the future become the means of exchange.

they can ban it in their country but they cannot destroy it only the creator can do that way. bitcoin is a digital currency and it is supported by blockchain its hard to hack or going to the back end. no one will do something danger to bitcoin because it is useful to us.
In fact they do not know the importance of bitcoin therefore they are trying to ban bitcoin, but i do not think that still they can stop their people not to use bitcoin, in future i think that they will review their decision and will hopefully start accepting bitcoin as legal country and will surely allow their people to use bitcoin for business and for shopping etc, because bitcoin is going to be the future currency.

They can try, but they wont succeed. The whole concept of decentralization is what will protect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from governments. They are trying to delay the inevitable!!! Change is coming, they will lose their grip on the world and we will all have equal chances to succeed...
I guess you were right since a decentralized crypto currency could be too hard for the government from stopping it. You are right, they can try but they won't succeed. It will require a global or maybe universal approval to stop Bitcoin but since they can't do that, their only way of stopping it is banning it to their country. But people can still use it since it on the internet, i wonder if the government would do such thing after all when we are already in the new modern technology world.

I think they can't. If you see the only thing that the governments can do is to ban bitcoin in their country but they cannot totaly destroy bitcoin. They can't control it most importantly they can't regulate it. This are the factors that thoroughly destroy their thoughts on making a move on bitcoin.

Yes. I believe that As long as the government you’re talking about can handle bitcoin server or they have the access on the server of bitcoin, They can ban it. But, I think its impossible. Satoshi Nakamoto is not in the government to be against in this wonderful creature and masterpiece. And Hw/She will not allow to destroy it. Bitcoin exist forever.

It's too late for that now. I am fairly sure that if they did everything they could to discredit and tarnish Bitcoin back in the very early years, they could and probably would book success. However, with countries legalizing Bitcoin, large professional parties getting involved in this ecosystem in more ways than one, merchant adoption increasing, less negativity in the media, crypto in general has gained a whole lot more credibility. One must be living under a rock to not know Bitcoin. The only thing these people need is a trigger to enter the market, and we have been very successful in that, especially so when it comes to the adoption boost of last year. Nothing can even remotely describe what happened last year. Exchanges receiving numerous +100,000 signups within 24 hours is just insane....

Bitcoin cannot be destroyed by the government because Bitcoin itself is a self-contained model, independent of any individual, organization or government. So the government's ban on cryptocurrencies only affects Bitcoin's exchange rate instead of destroying them. The government's ban on BTC has made the crypto's appeal even higher because the exchange rate of the BTC has increased steadily.

The technology is unbreakable and cant be controlled by any government. They can change people's mind and even ban it, but the thing is it will continue to go on. The only way to make it useless is when people dont use it anymore and it's there is no longer demand in the market. Bitcoin has decentralized feature and no one can have full control over it, the has control over all his funds.

This does not mean that bitcoin is being attacked by the government right now that the government is now receiving a cryptocurrency in all the world especially now that the government is open to a bitcoin. except in countries rejected by bitcoin or banned countries so bitcoin can not be destroyed by government ..

It is impossible to destroy the existence of bitcoins, no one or any government has the ability to do so.Bitcoin is too big to destroy the governments can’t ban something they can’t control, if they would like to destroy it, they would have to erase every node in the network which is nearly impossible - All the computers which contain the blockchain history need to be put offline.

Government cannot destroy bitcoin as a whole,  they can only restrict or prohibit cryptocurrency within their country. Government may intervene and imposed regulations from banning bitcoin to enter to their country but  they won't be able to put end in it. Moreover, they won't be able to tell other countries from using and accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment. Thus,  bitcoin can never be defeated by the government.

I can enjoy a wonderful bathroom, even if no one else does. But the usefulness of potential money, such as bitkoyn, depends crucially on whether other people use them. We must coordinate our beliefs. If someone does not believe that others will use bitcoins, they will be less inclined to accept it. For cryptresources that lack some non-monetary usage, this means that demand can fall to zero, even if everyone chooses its appropriate alternative.

In general, governments can define an exchange environment, coordinating beliefs, applying a transaction policy and punishing users of alternatives

if all countries forbid bitcoin then it will destroy bitcoin because if the government(countries) prohibits the use of bitcoin then its citizens will automatically be punished and will further reduce the interest of users to use bitcoin around the world, if bitcoin users reduce the bitcoin price will decrease because bitcoin price depends on the user (demand and supply on the market) then the total amount of bitcoin and its holders, as well as the news and over time the bitcoin is not profitable anymore and bitcoin is lost from this world. for the possibility of this happening is small because bitcoin is very profitable (influence) in the world economic factors.

Yeah of course. They can definitely destroy the bitcoin. Governments are afraid of it due to they can't have a power over bitcoin. They also can't fully control it unlike in the paper money. Setting some rules, regulations, and laws might be their way to damage the bitcoin. Banning it all over the world us also a way to stop the bitcoin. But I guess they can't do it because of the continuous groeing and develipment of bitcoin. Governments might lessen the investors and users but they can't fully stop people to use it.

If Facebook managed to convince a large majority of bitcoin users and miners to switch to a patented version of bitcoin software owned by the social network, the company would be able to establish its own rules. In this case, she could turn bitcoin into a corporate version of fedcoin (Fedcoin), described above.

Bitcoin is one of the most powerful currency in the whole world. There are many country are banned bitcoin for there country but it is not possible to destroy bitcoin forever.bitcoin is a online currency. Actually no government control it. There are many more negative news about bitcoin in the social media now. So if any government want to banned it for there country it possible but no government can destroy bitcoin.

I think its hard to ban bitcoin in the other country because other country used bitcoin so the government agree that to used but other country banned bitcoin because the govenment scared to replace the currency of that country and did not get a tax.like my country bitcoin is legal to use and the people invest it and become rich so that i think its depends of government.

No. Government of nations have decided to have bitcoin stopped but it is possible. Bitcoin is decentralized in its nature and cannot be curbed by anybody so it is quite discouraging to the government. SOme of the leaders are corrupt and dont want their transactions exposed.

I think they cant. Bitcoin is very successful and big industry beside there is no big effect of it to the real world but make the people grow. In short there is no bad reason to totally ban bitcoin.
They can't kill bitcoin, even if they try ... Fans of cryptocurrency fear government regulation could ruin it, but they shouldn't be concerned. ... As governments struggle to ban technologies like Tor and encryption, it seems impossible to imagine them gaining the ability to truly impact bitcoin.

We can't be sure that government will not ban this cryptocurrency, but here in asia now compared to western countries bitcoin was highly adopted. More countries now used cashless payments as well as card payments and online transactions. The bitcoin idea is there, and other countries outside of asia were now also thinking of bitcoin to be used as main currency for buying goods aside from fiat cash payments to eliminate cash or fiat money.

They cant destroy bitcoin because it happen online, but they can create a law that can llegalized bitcoin in their country so that it can possibly stop any transactions on their country. But which is hard to determine if one person is using a bitcoin because using a bitcoin is can really secure yourself and no one even notice it.

it could somehow imperil patially the movement of the coin when goverment try to take bitcoin down. but as we what could see in the marketplace the coin will just rebounce back and regain its strength.. its decentralize system so its not that easy to destroy. not unless people will loss interest in it. maybe that would be the end.

The government can never have a full control of the bitcoin. It can challenge bitcoin by banning it in their country but bitcoin has survived and will continue to survive. It is already evident today that some countries and even large companies such as google and facebook ban bitcoin but it recovered and the price continue to increase.

I have no doubt that at first the governments had wanted to do everything possible to destroy the progress that bitcoin has had among Internet users, but in these precise moments it seems that the financial authorities have already understood that it is impossible to oppose the advancement of technology, so they seem to be building bridges towards greater permissiveness to this technology, while trying to update the regulatory framework that allows bitcoin to receive a status of legality in different countries.

Right.I believe bitcoin is already inevitable today because a lot of people are learning to value it already as a form of long-term or even short-term investment. So even if the government will continue on making regulations against bitcoin, that won't stop bitcoin from conquering the whole universe since people are the ones who controlled it and not anybody else.

but not all countries do that, there are still many countries that receive bitcoin well.

The government can do anything with bitcoin including making bitcoin destroy, the easiest thing to do is turn off the internet so everyone can not access the site and of course this will make bitcoin die.

The bitcoin digital currency can be destroyed by government rules. This is due to the anonymous nature of an anonymous transaction. The risk of financial anonymity creates an environment in which regulation destroys bitcoin.A small but anonymous transaction with a virtual currency would be interesting, but on a large scale anonymous payments would make it very difficult to collect taxes and win criminal activity.
As for the government in time sooner or later will set the bitcoin and digital currency in general. In fact, digital currencies could be set to none. The government can allow the digital currency to exist peacefully, and not accept it as a means of payment, I think that's what needs to be done. However, my guess is sooner or later the government will arrange to not exist. The potential for government regulation is very real, in line with some countries that have restricted access to exchange of bitcoins and other digital currencies.Earlier, China banned the issuance of a new coin or an ICO initial coin. China has also tightened access to bitcoin exchange

I think they can not disrupt the aspirations of the people because some of the people who have limitations can not find a decent job for them by making use of this access they can be freer beyond their daily activities and not necessarily the government get bitcoin access so they control it is very likely small when they succeeded in hacking the impact to the long time joining. this is the first step in the modern era in the field of economy only this my opinion hopefully received well.

They can try, but they wont succeed. The whole concept of decentralization is what will protect Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from governments. They are trying to delay the inevitable!!! Change is coming, they will lose their grip on the world and we will all have equal chances to succeed...

But till today no governament officially announced that they ban cryptocurrency in their country. that means they are against the blockchain technology and they don't have any control over it. once the governament lost there control then they will destroy anything it maybe bitcoin or something else.

Complying with government regulators' rules may remove ostensible excuses from their rhetorical arsenal and that may help for a very precious time. But more important are mainstreaming cryptocurrency before regulators can shut it down (the Uber effect) and legally bribing politicians with Bitcoin with with proceeds from the cryptocurrency industry (wealthy cryptocurrency owners should fund key politicians' campaigns, preferably with Bitcoin).

Keeping cryptocurrency legal really is a race against the clock at this point. Its growing popularity serves clashing forces by simultaneously spooking the regulators and mainstream it. The latter wins only to the extent the former can be restrained.

No, i think it's impossible.. governments might determine the medium of exchange by coordinating beliefs, employing transactions policy, and punishing users of alternatives. By declaring an item legal tender, for example, the government might create an especially salient focal point around which individuals can coordinate on a particular money. Legal tender status might be nothing more than a designation; it need not convey any special privileges under the law (though sometimes it does).

I think that if government officials decide to break bitcoin down they will do it by any means. For now they don`t care who the creator of Bitcoin is but if they decide to know it it will be no problem. The fact that bitcoin users won`t agree with the government`s decision doesn`t matter for officials. No governement or authority has enough resources or time to completely ban a decentralised for of currency that too on an internet from existing unless there is a break down of the internet itself. They can only regulate it until people are converting these crypto in fiat. Else crypto currencies are quite untraceable and can't be easily analyzed for taxing on gains. The ultimate motive of crypto is to give the decentralized form of financial landscape free from any type of regulation or manipulation. This can only be achieved if the utility of bitcoin increases and people start trusting it as a monetary system more.

So maybe you can go and hunt the miners in your country, but this would be a huge tast and you will be never aible to get them all. And as long as they have internet in this country and many miners and fullnotes outside, the bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies blockchain will always running!

Bitcoin has a big influence on this. Everything can still happen, but the fact is that not all countries today agree to ban bitcoin, and that will not damage the whole crypto ecosystem.

In can, not literally though. It can destroy the cryptocurrency market by way of making it an illegal act or banning it that would prohibit people from using or supporting it, that in a sense, would be similar to death because that would surely affect the market and its assets so negatively that bad things will happen, most notably, the fall of the market itself. However, as I see it, a government wouldn't do that because, the thing is, they can have so many advantages from it.

Though it may seem like they could because they are just effortlessly banning cryptocurrencies in tgeir respective countries the  truth is they really couldn't and no country could do it to bitcoin. There is no way a local government or even a national government could subjugate bitcoin just as how no country could take advantage of bitcoin's powers for themselves. Because bitcoin is a decentralized cryptpcurrency.

For me, government cannot destroy Bitcoin because for some reasons, their power is just limited for their own states or countries so it is still impossible if the international federation will do such thing, maybe they can but it will be a real large chaos because people especially individuals do have different beliefs, perception and reasoning towards using Bitcoin so still it is impossible because if they force to push on destroying Bitcoin, they will just fail to do it because a lot more people is still into using Bitcoin and the power of the government may not be enough to prohibit Bitcoin usage added by the fact that it is decentralize.

The government cannot destroy bitcoin but they can regulate it in terms of law and policy of the government. Other government banned bitcoin because they can't control it because of its decentralization of digital currency. Even the government banned bitcoin in their country, their people can still used bitcoin and earn bitcoin in other country that accepts bitcoin transactions.

These government could stop the growth of bitcoin momentarily and i have not seen any major governments taking a stance against bitcoin, some of the Asian countries have mixed response according to the region but they cannot shut the network but they can make things difficult for the users to trade smoothly.
You're right on government cannot stop bitcoin but somehow it is affecting the price of it which is really not a good thing for the users. Unless every country in the world comes together to put bitcoin down I think it will be possible but as we can see different government has different perspective about bitcoin and they also has their won decisions.

This kind of news will only affect the price of bitcoin in the interim time. several times the bitcoin is shaken but in the end, it can recover. The government will not be able to destroy Bitcoin, many people argue that the ban on the use of bitcoin by governments in a country will be able to destroy bitcoin. but actually, bitcoin is still there and has a high price and always in want of many people around the world. this means that prohibiting the use of bitcoin may have an effect on bitcoin prices but I'm sure bitcoin will still exist and always have a lot of interest.

Yes, recently this question is very often found on the territory of this forum.
The government will use its best efforts to prevent crypto-currencies from taking the leading positions in the market, especially when there is a real threat that crypto-currencies can replace the entire modern financial system. However, at the moment, the capitalization of the whole market is very low in currency, when compared with the dollar.

If they can destroy the world for sure no more bitcoin existing right now right? That is why I really love bitcoin as it is not controlled by anyone and I am confident that no one can hack it.
How confident you are about no one can hack? As we all know, there are so many issue about hackers. Not bitcoin that they hack but wallet. But its the same that its impact to bitcoin price too. Government is another best key. It can destroy with work together with all country to ban bitcoin.

Destroying bitcoin is one of the topics that i have seen in this forum. Governments can only ban bitcoin and cryptocurrencies by imposing a regulation and their will on that matter but they can not stop or destroy bitcoin since bitcoin is decentralized and that the government can not intervene on its operation.

They can attempt, yet they wont succeed. The entire idea of decentralization is the thing that will shield Bitcoin and different digital currencies from governments. They are endeavoring to defer the inescapable!!! Change is coming, they will lose their hold on the world and we will all have square with opportunities to succeed

They can try, but probably they won't succeed since other countries like Japan and Korea are now accepting bitcoin as a digital currency. Countries who will ban bitcoin will have a big problem since the people who wants to use this technology will migrate to other countries and they will have a big economic loss.

The government cannot destroy bitcoin. They can ban it or regulate it but they cannot abolish bitcoin. Too many regular people are living off bitcon that it will find a way to be used by people. Unless every nation gets rid of their internet then maybe bitcoin will be lost. And i don't think that will happen anytime.

For the past year, government had tried to destroy bitcoin by banning it from different nations and even influencing  huge companies such as Google and Facebook to ban it. But bitcoin survived. Although at first we thought that bitcoin cannot survive it, bitcoin always prove itself and now the price is again at a high level. The government can try to pass regulations to limit what bitcoin can do but that is the advantage of bitcoin, it can never be controlled by anyone or anybody even government or huge association.

But to say it will destroy bitcoin,  I think it isn't possible due to the decentralization of bitcoin. So no is my answer.

Abiding by federal government regulatory authorities' policies it might get rid of plausible reasons from their ornate toolbox which might aid for an extremely valuable time. A lot more essential are mainstreaming cryptocurrency prior to regulatory authorities could close it down as lawfully paying off political leaders with Bitcoin with earnings from the cryptocurrency market

The government can allow the digital currency to exist peacefully, and not accept it as a means of payment, I think that's what needs to be done. However, my guess is sooner or later the government will arrange to not exist.

The potential for government regulation is very real, in line with some countries that have restricted access to exchange of bitcoins and other digital currencies.

But I think if bitcoin enthusiasts are still a lot in a country, I think the government will be difficult to stop it.

There seems to be no denying that governments can ban cryptocurrencies. Some bitcoin proponents have argued that governments cannot really prevent bitcoin use. Jon Matonis once stated that “a government ban on bitcoin would be about as effective as alcohol prohibition was in the 1920s.” How could a government prevent people from using bitcoin? It’s online. It’s pseudonymous. And, as Matonis notes, “demand for an item […] does not simply evaporate in the face of a jurisdictional ban.”In general, governments might determine the medium of exchange by coordinating beliefs, employing transactions policy, and punishing users of alternatives. By declaring an item legal tender, for example, the government might create an especially salient focal point around which individuals can coordinate on a particular money. Legal tender status might be nothing more than a designation; it need not convey any special privileges under the law (though sometimes it does.

We all say that Bitcoin is decentralized in nature which means that no government is able to control the transactions made through Bitcoin but according to me government can destroy bitcoin. If governments of all countries declared it as illegal in their respective countries then we will have no way to use Bitcoin.I mean we will be able to work with Bitcoin but as we all know Bitcoin has no physical form ,we have to convert it in our respective currencies to use it.If government will ban it then we will have no way to convert it in our particular currencies. So we will not be able to use it.Due to this people will slowly stop using it and Bitcoin will come to it's end.But I don't think this will happen because governments are intelligent enough to understand it's potential and they know that Bitcoin can be an asset to their economy so they will not ban it.

If the government decides to make trade or storage of bitcoins illegal, questions will be raised about exactly how such a ban will be provided. The government can not capture your bitcoins unless you decide to transfer your personal keys. However, this can significantly reduce interest, which will in general affect its existence in the market.

No, only a few governments have decided to regulate and ban bitcoin. But I think-this decision will not be permanent. Soon it will be canceled, as will understand what bitcoin gives and what prospects and opportunities.

As far as I know, the government can not destroy Bitcoin. The government may ban people from using and trading Bitcoin. But the government can not ban all people from using and trading Bitcoin, there will be a lot of black market and the government can not intervene.

They are doing FUD with such news.

No, governments may attempt to regulate digital currencies, but this will not lead to the desired result. Bitcoin was created with the purpose to block such actions.

Governments will not seek to destroy it, rather they will find a way to control it. At the end of the day Governments and Corporations will have the lion's share of it. Once crypto is widely accepted, it is money and those two entities will do everything to grab hold of power.

Make no mistake, it's a power game in the long term.

Perhaps if only a few governments of one of the countries it would be difficult to destroy bitcoin. Because the range of bitcoin that has been increasingly widespread and increasingly known by many people. But I do not know if the governments of some compact countries are willing to destroy bitcoin. Maybe it can be in my opinion because surely there will be many people who invest in bitcoin and lower the price in the market.

If the people will be well educated about bitcoin and they will know about all the features of bitcoin then no one can harm their bitcoin as with the knowledge of bitcoin anyone can know that bitcoin is a decentralized currency and it is also anonymous currency so no one can control it and no one know that who is using it. It is also the right of people that government allow those things which are for the benefit of their people so people have to know about their this right and have to call for their right to not disallow bitcoin.

What's been stated is true, it is impossible to destroy the bitcoin. The hard regulations were the possible consequences to restrict the usage of bitcoin. Another thing if each and every government plans to impose hard regulations, then it might get itself towards destruction.

I think idea of blockchain will live forever, but to be honest bitcoin is not strong enough to withstand G20 for example. It needs more support from common people and gain more authority. Also developers should try to make it more usable for common people.

It would be possible that government destroyed bitcoin by means of banning it to their country. But as long as we people believe and use bitcoin as a means of payment or as one of our source of income then government would never be successful in destroying bitcoin.

I don't believe that the government can completely destroy bitcoin and the market around it. I think that there will always people that will take interest on this innovation regardless of what the government says. Block chain technology is a very helpful and promising innovation that could lead our economy to success. I still hope that the government can finally listen and understand this.

I do not think so,bitcoin started without the government. It is the peoples currency and draws its power from collective trust in it.It has proven it is a superior technology and with time will show greater adoption.Government regulations will only slow its progress not  kill it.Bitcoin can go back to the darkweb if regulations become too bad,Banning some thing has never really stopped it,e.g drugs,Rhino horns, mariwana etc.

I think government will never destroy bitcoin but banks are jealous from bitcoin because many people invest their a lot of money in bitcoin and that's why banks will never want that people invest their money in bitcoin, so I think that's why bitcoin is illegal in some countries but it will never destroy rather it will more improve and government will accept in future.

no one government can destroy bitcoins because its fan base is so wide and diverse it spans the entire world , it would require a tremendous amount of resources to attempt to do this and apart from not being economically viable no government that is forward thinking or concerned about it citizenry would want to ban bitcoins as it could single handedly provide economic growth .

Bitcoin has already created a legacy in our economy so I don't think the government can fully eliminate it from the market. And I think, if the government pushes bitcoin, the people in the community of cryptos will just shrug it off and continue what their doing. Bitcoin is a very complex business and every time critics says it won't last, bitcoin still prevailed and rise up.

Government can indirectly affect the market of cryptocurrency, both good and bad. But I still don't believe that the government is capable of destroying something that is build for the public. Cryptocurrency provides people a choice, freedom and security in finance. Cryptocurreny also created jobs and help people find a new career here. I just hope that the people in position can see how valuable this industry is.

A government can destroy bitcoin but it would be difficult. One way is to completely shutdown the internet but impossible because it would destroy also all online businesses.  They can stop the access on all the exchanges. It is possible also for them to prohibit withdrawals thru banks or any money exchange. But all this move might create chaos to the their people.  What they can do better is to regulate on a positive manner and not to ruin it!

a big possibility granting bitcoin interferes greatly with government's day to day operations like people wouldn't want to be transacting with banks anymore, bitcoin will be mafia's and terrorists' fuel or people getting scammed by investing in it. Then I can see grounds for the government to stop cryptocurrencies from taking over the country's financial aspect.

The governments can limit the patronage of Bitcoin to some extend as they cause frequent FUD in the people but the power to the total destruction of Bitcoin rests on the people - You and I. Once people decide not to accept it as a medium of exchange, the demand reduces and that can destroy bitcoin and i don't think this circumstance is very likely to happen, it takes a lot of factors to come to play.

I think government can't destroy bitcoin but they can stop it in their country. Government can't destroy the whole bitcoin because it is a worldwide digital currency and not all governments are banning bitcoin. They can stop bitcoin in their country by banning it in their country. Making it illegal to their country can make it stop. Governments can't destroy bitcoin because bitcoin is powerful.

Bitcoin is nothing but a cryptocurrency and if you want to enjoy the advantages of Bitcoin then no one is there to destroy Bitcoins and it is totally based on internet and government can destroy the internet so Bitcoins are also undestructable. So don't worry if government is banning Bitcoin in your country then Bitcoin is going to be illegal in your country but then also you can use Bitcoins. As Bitcoins are anonymous.

As you know the blockchain technology is decentral. So i dont think that any gouverment could destroy bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. So they can make laws against it, and try to censor the internet of their country, they can bann it, but you can hold the blockchain technology. Even when there are start to hunt the miners, they can maybe shutdown the miners in their country, but never the miners worldwide. So in the end, there just one fullnote needed to keep the bitcoin blockchain network on run!

If the government would want to destroy bitcoin in a way of shutting it down and wanting it to completely eliminate, they are capable of doing so because of the power they have. The government is the one controlling its people therefore if a law that prohibits the usage of cryptocurrency is going to be implemented in order to ban the usage of bitcoin, a lot of people would have second thought in using it because of the possible consequences they may face if they violate that. Yet, it is not assured that all of the people would follow this because bitcoin has been a part of the lives of many people.

If the government would want to destroy bitcoin, people would only make actions that will save bitcoin and themselves from being manipulated by the government. Unless all of the administration worldwide would ban the usage of bitcoin and cryptocurrency, the bitcoin would continue to prosper and would make a way to lives of people.
