Hello guys can we please share some  strategy on how to dictect some big trending coin early just like discovering bitcoin in 2014!!!

Well, it might work out differently now as the trend of coins has changed
However, in order to look for something Big, it should have good enhancement in terms of technology or use case

ICON should be one
Zilliqa should be one too
Then we have things like WTC, VEN, EOS, all of these "Could" be big but it depends

Take a look at gdaxs criteria for listing a new coin. If you feed all the projects you are interested through the criteria they lay out you will be leafy with only a handful of coins out of the thousands listed! I could tell you what coins to look up but you would learn nothing. Learn gdaxs criteria and you will not go wrong

It is so hard to find that one because lots of coins have good project, good team and also lots of money they got through ico. Diversify so increase your chance to be in the next big thing.

Yep hard to find, you also need good contacts, where you can get infos, because the best things, mostly happens in the background!
In other words, it brings more if you can invest in a project if the cap is small and the price is cheap, if it is mentioned in the news or media, the price is most already extremely increased

Well, first and foremost, bitcoin was not discovered and before it was really a big thing, people thought it was nothing. It was only when people began to find its actual use did it began to raise its popularity. Therefore, looking at all the coins and the ICO now, and trying to identify which will be the next bitcoin is quite difficult. Even with all the research, all the information that we will be able will still be limited. Plus, there are so many factors that determines the success of a coin and of a project that's why it is next to impossible to tell.

Trends and the tech behind the coin. I dont know the next bitcoin, but I already know the next Ethereum. Look into Ardor. It already has a true and proper working product not just a promise. It basically does everything Ethereum does but better with more advanced tech. Going to be huge and thats where I keep most of my investment.

First off it was in 2010 you wanted to get into Bitcoin. Secondly, you will never find another Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a secure and robust payment system, there won't be another like it. If you are trying to find another coin where you can invest $1000 wait 5 years and become a millionaire, join the club. Bitcoin is digital gold, the standard of crypto currencies. For this reason, you will not find the same promising crypto currencies. I believe that you need to compare with ethereum.  In terms of the scale of implementation in blockchain and prospects, Nem and maybe Ripple will do. Bitcoin is still cheap. And if you wanted to find Bitcoin early you should in 2011. In 2014 you should found Monero. But Monero is still as cheap as bitcoin.  Todays prices will be laughable at next Crypto bubble.

You want to find coins that are currently in a bear market, much like Bitcoin right now, that also has a lot of potential in the long run. Don't invest in short term pump and dump coins that do not have any long term potential. Bitcoin is still in its early adopter phase, so it's still quite cheap.

I'd say that EOS is the "next big thing". After its main net launches, it'll garner a lot of attention.

A new tech, a new revolution, a new idea, Have so many advantages. It's really difficult to say about how you can do that. Bitcoin will be Bitcoin. If you look at Coinmarketcap, next to it is Ethereum. If you will look for the next something big, look for something like Ethereum. Others think its NEO since NEO is marketed as the Ethereum of China, but currently NEO is still working its way up the CMC. Cardano (ADA) and EOS are 2 good tokens that have potential but still its not going to replace Bitcoin.

There are many predictions which of the coins can become a substitute for bitcoin, maybe it will be one of the top alt's and maybe still an unknown coin, which is still at the Ico level. But as long as there is trust and demand for bitcoin, this will never happen.

Determining to dictect coin like bitcoin it's very hard, investors or the user cryptocurrency will find hard to determine a coin that will provide a great advantage. Altcoin now has a lot and reached thousands, and investors will be divided to invest the money. Different with 2014 ago, at that time there were only a few cryptocurrencies and bitcoin is their first choice, so the investors not be hard to choose investments and this is the reason why bitcoin prices goes to increasing and become a trending at that time.

It's very simple to say but very hard to do. The answer to your question is by research. But just like bitcoin, you should accept first that you need to wait for a few years to see it's full potential and not only by months.

I see a good future in neo and the etherium. Perhaps in a few years we will see a good competitor bitcoin. Now it's time to buy coins for a long time

Invest only into legit coins that has a big community and really has a value to trade. If you found the big thing as bitcoin then why you should go for other coin that are unsure of what they are doing.

Oh my, that is really difficult question. As you know that investing in crypto always has risks though there are dozens of really good projects, with strong team, good marketing, high ico raisings, but only future can show which coin will survive. Better to choose coins with high capitalization, they have more chances.

Nowadays a lot of coins even if you check in coinmarketcap the top coins is in the list. Yes it is hard to catch the coin to be the next big thing so as to be very simple we should search on your preferred coins that are worth it. So always search on the development and follow the project to be aware of.

It is quite difficult to find the good coins. So it is better to get the top 10 mineable coins.

Its very hard to find next big coin like bitcoin or say nothing can match this crypto pioneer but still there are many progressive coins which have developed technology and good potential to rise in future like ETH,LTC,Waves and NEO which are on the edge of becoming competitor of btc and you can have your funds adjusted in all of them to avail huge profits when the time come.

The coins you listed are all very good ones but it doesn’t require magic to detect these as they are all on the firat page of coinmarketcap. I understood the thread starter wanted to know how to find them when no one knows about them.

See, bitcoin has been there in the market for quite a sometime now and it has taken quite a number of years for bitcoin to get recognized and grow as a cryptocurrency. These days more and more altcoins are being developed based on a unique project. So, you will have to study and believe in the altcoin you hold and wait for it to become huge. In the coming years, cryptocurrency will be the solution to many problems. Ethereum and ripple are two projects you should definitely keep a watch on.

To the OP...it requires lots of research. 
- Find out what the coin/token is for.  What problem it solves, what makes it unique, technology and real world use, etc.
- Check the team (developer, backer, marketing, etc.)
- If there is any collaboration with big business, etc.
- Good community support.
- Listing on a good exchange.  I've seen many promising coins that never took off because they are only in a sucky exchange.
- Healthy coin supply (not too many, not too little)

I am sure I missed many but these are the ones I use as gauge...even if a coin check on all...it is still not a guarantee it will take off.  I've seen many sucky coins that made it big... sadly, it is the nature of crypto.  In the end, it is still hugely factored with luck.

It is not easy at all to find a coin like Bitcoin since there are thousands of those. Instead of a wild goose chase, buy a basket of most of the top coins including bitcoin and just hodl.

Bitcoin is entirely different from other cryptocurrency,n ot even single will replace the place of bitcoin . Bitcoin had decentralized concept,so at anytime the price will get back to the old maximum price. If you inverse in bitcoin,surely you will get profit.This makes bitcoin to survive more than 8 year.

There is no way to know that, because you need to be 100% lucky in order to make it happen. If you are not aware of new technologies, then it is something almost impossible to realize.

I think it can only be predicted when the coin has entered the market so currently predict coins that have a big indication like bitcoin will be very difficult if there is no price listed in the market.

Such a significant and large coin in the crypto world as bitcoin now seems impossible to find. It is unlikely that any coin will be able to repeat the way of bitcoin.

I think we should make one thing clear that there is never gonna be another thing like bitcoin and we should also remeber that the largest gainers in btc were the biggest risk takers as when bitcoin started 99.99% people said it is nothing serious, its just fake currency and scam bla bla, so it is basic rule of investment; higher the risk higher the reward, for the second part of your question i think just check the quality of the project and team and the concept and you will profit, i will suggest to pick recent ico called shivom that was sold out fast their token omx is trading below ico price at the moment, im sure it will gain tremendously as volume grows in the market.

There's no way to find out those coins that are like bitcoin during it's early days now.

If there's a way, what you have to do is monitor each of it, every single markets that they are showing and on how the community is taking of that coin most specially the developers.

It's not only about the luck you have but it's about on how you hard working you are by finding out those precious coins that has those qualities I've said above.

You can't find anything that is like bitcoin tho but there is bunch of good coins out there that has a good future, the market flow is unstable and there is no way to predict what coin will raise its value but the thing is now coins have more variety I can't give you a certain coin since there is too many that has potential in this year.

I think it is not an easy thing to detect a coin which can be as big as bitcoin in a near future, but in my opinion, ethereum and neo are the strongest altcoins to reach the current price of bitcoin, but of course, there is nothing obvious about the future of any coin.

By predicting what can be the future of our life, even one Economist told in 1999 that time will come that cash will turn to e-cash with coins one day and it happened almost like after 15 years, so by predicting, AI will be the future, robots will be the future you may never know.

It won’t be as easy as before, bitcoin era and its existence is unique in many way. It was started by its own and without much of competition. Now is so different, popularity of many coin is divided or spread out. And there’s no other altcoin that can even equal the price of it. At this moment, ETH as the most used coin in the market today next to bitcoin then better focus on that one.

In the current market, I don't think you will find the next Bitcoin. But you might find a project that in the future could make you a lot of profit. Do some research into low market cap projects, that have working products with real use.

You can see that there is strong competitor of bitcoin, but it will never take over the number 1 spot because Bitcoin is Bitcoin. But if you want to get some profit from hunting an altcoins to be stepped up like bitcoin, that will be EOS and Ethereum.

With each passing day, it becomes difficult to recognize next big altcoin as most of the coins have good teams and products. I think NEO, SYSCoin, EOS are good bets to follow.

Due to the increasing number of coins it is becoming more difficult predict the next big thing. My guess will be ethereum classic as it has just been confirmed as a new listing for coinbase. Also NEO will mature this year and follow ETH to be worth several hundred dollars

Its really hard to find a good coin now because there are so many coins existing in the market.. to make sure to select  a good coin is to make a research about the coin your going about to invest if their project is good and check their dev team. But for now the best thing to invest aside from bitcoin is ethereum which is the second most popular coin the market today. this is good for long term investment and now it has a low price.

You have many coins in front of you like Bitcoin. Among these the most eminent is Ethereum. And, do not forget about the Dogecoin which is traded high in volume and also listed in all popular and big exchanges. The Dogecoin transactions are going to happen more in future because the transactions are very fast than Bitcoin.

The thing is there is not going to be the thing that is as big as bitcoin because bitcoin is always going to be in first as it's the first cryptocurrency ever.

EOS  that's my favorite that can get big like btc .

I think it lies right in the nature of the project. If the project is solving real human problem it stands the chance to go to the moon. Though all projects intend to a particular problem identified but some may solve peculiar problems and I think such projects stands the chance to rise significanty

it's not that simple! no one can predict that bitcoin would hit the 20k$.what we can do is search for good coins with great technology and a potential for growth then diversify our portfolio among these coins and wait for the right moment.

A very simple reason for why 99% of crypto wouldn't survive in long term or wouldn't get any enterprise scale adoption is because they all are permission-less network,  having different consensus module - pow,  POS, dpos and list goes on. But they don't have any control on addition of nodes and what computational/mining power their network gets. And added to that, the risk of getting hacked. Hence, Enterprises will not put their business on stake by going with public blockchains.

That's why I am quite enthusiastic about hybrid Blockchains (mixture of public and private blockchains)

I would suggest you to invest in DRGN, XLM, XDCE etc. They are going to get big in 2019. Buy in every dip.

It seems to me that it is no longer possible to find the same coin as bitcoin. Yes, now there are quite good coins in the crypto market for investing, but you are unlikely to get the same movement that bitcoin has.

I think bitcoin is the most special altcoin, and it is really hard to say that the price of an altcoin can reach its price in a near future. But I think that, you can try your chance with eth, neo and eos.

Be aware of the project itself, the creators/devs and the way how project will operate is the common factor in order for an ICO/Token to perform well in the market. I mean BTC is being accepted and popularized due to it's basic but useful features, while other alts are categorize to be helpful and consider as a new breakthrough because of their use for the future. If one token maximizes the advantages of blockchain to make an innovation thru finance and technology i bet those are really good coins.

Indeed, the next bitcoin might be already around but it is not talked about much. Keep in mind that Bitcoin disrupted the payment space, it was not a copycat but a unique idea. Look for those new ideas instead at copycats like Bitcoin Cash or Bitcoin Trash  8)

Now other than bitcoin, there are many coins out there and our choice is confusing and i am sure the market cap will spread wider with many different coins.

You have to find it yourself by doing your research I have been scammed by other coins from other's recommendation, from then on I just do my own research, so you have no one to blame but you in case something goes wrong and you can always modify or set up new criteria and guidelines.

indeed. No coin will be like bitcoin, because Bitcoin is initial cryptocurrency. But we will have good coin like ETH. For example, token of telegram.

Well stuff like this is impossible to predict, There really is now way of making such calls. Best bet is to look at value and usecase. Which coins do you think actually could serve a purpose with a real world use case. These are probably your best bets. I would suggest taking a look at the privacy coins like XMR and Z cash and apart followed by dexes BNB or ZRX being the best examples there

I think if you do your own research of the available token, you will find the one that is potential. When you find this, buy and hold for as long as possible and I am sure it will grow and some day be big because bitcoin growth started from one point before it became a very potential coin.

We need to study new ico projects. Ethereum when it was also very cheap and now costs $ 500. Learn new good projects that will really help society. And over the years, maybe they will grow as well as Bitcoin or Ethereum.

NEO will mature this year and follow ETH worth a few hundred dollars As more and more coins increasingly difficult to predict the next big thing. And my guess will be classic ethereum as it has just been confirmed as a new list for coinbase

Predicting the next big crypto is as simple as figuring which one of these cryptos most likely have a real-world use.
On the other hand, the next big thing could be a merger of existing solutions

My personal thoughts
1. Project innovation rate, because only innovative things can be more competitive!
2. Sales channels, which means how many people can understand and buy products!
3. Team strength, which means whether the project can be successfully developed!
4. Market demand! The role of products in the market!

For me, While ICO project is still alive, it is possible that Ethereum will have a chance for it. But even so, the price of Ethereum will not exceed the Bitcoin price. For other candidates, maybe it is Bitcoincash.

Not that east lol, if anything take a look at upcoming ICOs that have a very promising future. It is hard to find a coin just like Bitcoin but since there are a lot of ICO’s, you can try to check out one of them and see if their roadmap is kind of the same with Bitcoin. It's not easy to do. It is necessary to study the projects that are now cheap and buy. But there's a lot of scam on the market right now. Be careful.

because it takes a lot of time to observe or study other projects,

Your search never ends, there won't be any big thing like Bitcoin for another 100 years from now and there won't be any big thing would be born or invented like this beast forever I bet. To find the next big coin like Bitcoin it has to study and know the market, not just the crypto one; you have to understand how the world you live in today will evolve and what people will ask and need in 5-10-20 years.

It seems to me that Bitcoin is a nugget that gets into Human society once every 100 years or more. There were no such analogues and so far it has not been planned.

Based on the OP's question though, all these, still does not classify any of them as the next big thing LIKE bitcoin. I wonder why so many people like the OP are so focused on that which is the reason so many people are after quantity than quality.

No one knows what the future holds for any coin or token just like no one knew in 2009/2010 that bitcoin would be this big, but what you can do is to hold on to what you believe in as a good project and hope for the best. It is as simple as that instead of trying to find what you cannot get the answer to.

The only coin right now are possible to be like a bitcoin is the ethereum, I have a lot of ethereum now and I will hold it for few years because I believe it will increase the price very high like 10k dollars after 1-2 years from now. I usually look in IDEX or other decentralized exchanges, I've seen a lot of potential altcoins in decentralized before they will be listed in big exchanges. Research and research.  But I stop comparing my newfound altcoin to bitcoin. Bitcoin is bitcoin its hard to defeat BTC. 

I can’t tell for I myself have a hard time distinguishing a good coin that will hit skyrocket! What i did instead is to look for a good and beneficial ico.

Yes, I agree with your suggestion as it might be a bit difficult and almost impossible to find a new coin that might be a big thing like bitcoin but if your a very good at decision making and you do  very good research of new coin, you might be lucky to find one but you still cannot be able to predict if it will be a big think like bitcoin in future,

So far, we have such a wonderful thing as bitcoin and there's no point in looking for something instead of it. Bitcoin is a good crypto currency and promising

all you need is to research and observe what coin has a great future and give you benefits in the near future.. you can see if the coins that you choose are for long term or for short term.. if you need long term all you need is to be patient and if you want a short term all you need is to invest a big amount  for that coin.

There is no written rule to find the Next Big thing. For that you need to remain in constant touch with the cryptocurrency world and not only that you need to be lucky enough to time your move rightly. I know people who were playing with bitcoins for a long time and just before december 2017, they went out of cryptocurrency for 2 months and missed the biggest opportunity of their life. So knowledge and luck both are needed.

It may be said that there will be no fixed bitcoin can replace. Moreover, a growing number of other coins that appear and this made competition and to find the best coins is very difficult because almost every month there are just new coins.
