Hi everyone

I have a problem, I was forced to move out of Livecoin because they forced me to close my account. I had no choice but to close out my positions on other ALTs and convert them to Tron and send to MEW.

I never used ETH before and I was unaware that I needed ETH to send TRX. I figured I just pay fee in TRX.

However this is not the case! To transfer any ERC-20 token you need ETH.

So now my TRX is stuck.

Can anyone either donate some ETH so I can move it out, or maybe I can Interac Email Transfer $5 or $10 for some ETH? If someone could donate some and we can work out a way to pay it back that would help me a lot... I can also send TRX back to you to cover the donation / TX fees. If you want reimbursement please message me before you donate anything.


The faucets are too slow to get enough for the TX fee, it will take a week or more :(

If anyone knows another way to send my TRX from my wallet without begging for a loan or donation, please let me know. Otherwise I am stuck begging until either I get it or a faucet pays out enough for a transaction.

I do not quite understand how they can get stuck? I think that in any case they will have to return back if it was indicated that something is not right, and if you indicated not your wallet, then unfortunately nothing can be done already, it seems to me that this option can not even be considered.

They get stuck by sending the token to MEW and not having any ETH

If you do not have ETH than it does not matter how many TRX you have (you could have a billion) and you would not be able to send the TRX because you need ETH

ETH is required for sending a transaction - I am basically stuck out of gas. My tank is empty :(

It's a pretty steep learning curve, even for a programmer like myself.

Don't really understand the issue. If you sent the tokens from an exchange to your MEW and the transaction was successful they should appear in your MEW regardless of whether you have some ETH in your wallet or not. You need ETH to pay fee, only if you want to send your tokens from MEW somewhere else.

I think you are misunderstanding me, or I am wording something improperly.... I apologize if it is my fault.

That is exactly what I am trying to do... Send tokens from MEW back to a new exchange - but I have no ETH

So I am stuck. All my TRX tokens are stuck in MEW because I do not have any ETH for GAS.

Why can't you just buy ETH?

its ok.. maybe its stuck because you dont have any eth to be used as gas if thats the case dont panic when mainnet release it will be converted 1:1

Lmao, dude just buy ETH like all the rest of us. I had to buy myself ETH to send tokens from my MEW, nothing hard about that. If every time you end up having to send tokens from MEW to an exchange and end up having to beg, you're screwed....

Best to just buy some ETH now and keep them for transaction fees. That way you save yourself from these types of situations.

I cant just buy ETH

1) You need a visa (I do not have)
2) Prepaid cards are $7
3) Exchange withdrawal limits and fees are way too high
4) I only need literally enough for one transfer... Its like a few cents

I can't just buy it because of those problems ^

I am literally stuck until I get some ETH

It's not like I am begging for FREE ETH, I am willing to pay (interac I can send first) or even send some TRX back in exchange


If you are unable to help and just are trolling by asking a million questions, please leave. If you are just testing to make sure I am not trying to scam anyone, then it is OK because we must protect each other.

That's not really a valid excuse. Many ways to acquire ETH...

That's why you either buy BTC, convert it to ETH using many options out there or you just buy it straight through local exchanges etc. Hell I live in a 3rd world country and am able to buy ETH (through bank transfers, deposits, etc). Sorry to be an ass but nothing justifies begging for loans/money in the internet when related to criptos.

Convert BTC to ETH, sell some alts for ETH, buy some ETH, whatever... If you've managed to get the coins you have now, I'm pretty sure you're able to get a hold of ETH besides begging for some here.

PS: And I'm not trolling. Don't expect to get any sympathy from people here when you're posting a post related to "loans"/"begs". No one knows who you are to simply trust your words... The crypto world is a hard place when it comes to trusting unknown strangers.

I have no BTC it is all TRX and all of it is in MEW. I cant buy any because I do not have a visa.

Do you realize how ridiculous it is to pay several dollars fee to an exchange, and another several dollar fee to transfer out, just to buy a few cents worth of ETH?

Paying $10 just to get $0.01 of ETH makes no sense at all.

All these exchanges are screwing crypto because you cant just buy a small amount and withdraw it because of fees and limits.

If there was something like http://mbtc.shop for ETH I would have been there and used that to buy ETH but there is no way to buy small micro amounts of it.

LOL you must be kidding, if you want ether you can buy it at most exchanges out there, there is no need to beg for it in the forum. Just go to Kraken or Bittrex and serve yourself.

I'm wondering how you ended up in the cryptocurrency world if you can't resolve this issue. Excuse me, but this is ridiculous. I understand that maybe you are a beginner. But such things perishing need to know and to decide. Buy some Ethereum and that's it.

No, I am not. I am staring at 1,700 TRX that I cannot withdrawal.

Everyone saying to 'just buy it from an exchange' please read my posting a few posts up, I cannot just simply buy a few cents of ETH

I ended up in crypto by buying BTC, and joining an exchange.

Do you want new comers to learn and buy your bags from you or do you just want your assets to fall in value?

It is easy for a ETH newb to get stuck like me.

Newbs will get stuck and have problems, I suggest you start accepting that fact :) More newbs are on the way!

This seems to be a serious issue, but what i do not understand is that, you already have your TRX in your MEW, do you want to transfer it to an exchange, or you want to send it to another MEW address? Talking about gas, which i do not have enough too and if no one is able to donate to you, i feel you should approach some around you, that you can see one on one to send or sell some eth to you.

Sent 0.00008 ETH to you, should be enough for one transaction based on the fee it charged to send.

The problem is not that big but I know how disturbing it is to think you have funds but can't do anything. As I've seen, you have successfully withdrawn it already. I admire your willingness now to help others too with the same problem.

People are way harsh. I'll send you some Etn chap don't worry. Send me your account details with home address and a pic of your driving licence so I can verify your a real person then I'll send over as much as you want.

If you can use a wallet, then you do not know what ETH is needed.

Actually if you use a wallet you would fall into the exact same trap. Usually to send XYZ coin you have to pay fees in XYZ coin, not in ABC coin.

I had never used ETH or ERC-20 tokens and therefore had no idea how to use ERC-20 token.

You must pay for ERC-20 token in ETH not in the ERC-20 token (this is a deviation from the standard)

In my situation I was told to leave an exchange, and I had to emergency withdraw my funds in the cheapest available method I could find, which happened to be TRX. So I converted all of my coins to TRX and withdrew to a MEW.

There I got stuck, because all my crypto was in TRX, and I needed ETH to send. I cant send without ETH so I can't just swap TRX for ETH.

I cant get credit card, and every method has so many fees just to get a few cents worth of ETH to send. We're talking several dollars of fees for a few cents. Plus all the KYC.

So you have successfully transferred your Trx to your new ,and wanted to transfer it again. You don't have to worry about your Trx on your mew as long as you hold the private key, eth is really important on sending any Tokens out of mew. If your not in a hurry to sell your Trx, you can always find ways to have your eth, like this ask for some donations if any would be open to share some eth to you, or just fund your wallet with eth. Right now is the right time for you to have some eth coz it is really low now, grab this opportunity.  Coz you will always need eth whenever your transferring from mew.

I sent TRX to MEW in emergency, and was not aware I needed ETH to send it again.

Why do so many have a hard time to understand? One other person fell into the same trap as me!


Yes, you do have to worry, if you are trading and trying to make profits. Or if you are worried your TRX will be half its original value by the time you get access to it. In my case Starxoff helped me get it into exchange in time to sell out and still make a profit :D only 50K satoshis or so... but I am learning :)


And as a regular user of ETH and ERC-20 tokens, you already knew that. I being a noob to ETH and ERC-20 tokens did NOT know that.


I am in a hurry, I am trading TRX to get more BTC. I already WAS asking for donations, this is the thread where I did it (I am the OP)

If you read what I wrote I also was waiting for a faucet but faucet payouts take a month or so to get a withdrawal.

"Just fund your wallet" is not an example... HOW do you fund your wallet with just a few cents of ETH?

With BTC I just go to mbtc.shop and buy $10 if I want with a low fee, pay Interac E-Transfer, and its in wallet in 24-48 hours. The point is moot anyways...

Wtf what i read on here. I thought what was OP means by his TRX stuck in MEW, but i dissapointed to know if he only want to beg some ETH for gas.

Buy it from any exchange then send to your MEW.

Then fund it with bigger one. AFAIK you will not be dissapointed to invest in ETH right now.

I think your problem is that the service fee is too low.
So you can solve the problem by buying some ETH from the trading platform,

Hopefully you learned it now that you can't transfer any token unless you have the Eth balance, you can withdraw tokens from one exchange to other exchange directly to avoid Eth fee. You can buy Bitcoin and then exchange it to Eth and transfer it to your MEW account. There are so many exchanges to buy Bitcoin for fiat. You can try localbitcoins.com

Cant do it for just a few dollars of ETH.


No the problem is the fees and minimums are too HIGH so you cant just simply buy  $5-10 of ETH, because the fee either is too much or it does not pass the minimums.

That means yes you can buy small amount of ETH on exchanges, but you can not get it off the exchange

I have had this problem before, I bought $100 CAD (maybe $75 USD) of BTC and it was stuck in the exchange because of the fees and minimums.

Actually, this is WHY this thread is good, because it can make some aware of this fact which is easy to mistake because you normally pay fees in the same coin...

Also ETH should add in a way to pay fees in the token that you have instead.

The other good thing about this is now if someone needs some ETH for GAS they can post here or PM me and I will send enough for gas :)

I am making $110 USD off of TRX / Tron right now and as soon I cash out I will buy some ETH pay back Starxoff
