Although bitcoin has the lowest point but bitcoin still has a very high price, and in 2018 this is the price bitcoin will show greatness with price increases to the moon again.

The IMF have put out a new report which is much more positive towards crypto than it was before. This is great news and encourages widespread adoption. It could mean that yes, we have hit the lowest point for BTC for 2018

Bitcoin market may be at very low in 2018 as compared to the year 2017.  In the year 2017 the price of bitcoin shoot up to around 20k which not is around 8k.  Bottom can not be ascertained just by comparing it's current price to the price of the past.  May be it shoots up again now as the price recovered during the last couple of days and may be the trend of upward movement continues.  But all we can say is "May be"  but not sure.

it already hit the bottom maybe later for this 2018 bitcoin price will go up until bitcoin reach again the top price. for me bitcoin will increase rapidly this year and more people will love it because they can earn more bitcoin or profit easily.

There are no more bearish moves for bitcoins price. Even though there is a huge dump last April 17 when a whale sold his 6500 btc but the market have recovered fast and the value rose back again to 8200$. This stability in bitcoins value at 8k$ is a good sign that we must buy again thus many people will buy bitcoin and we will see a fast increase in value this week and next week.

Not only the medias but those economists and bankers who have plans of buying during the dip. They never stop calling bitcoin a bubble.

Bitcoins had to hit hard and move up, it's like a spring can't keep it down forever. I feel after all the fud IMF news and Japan efforts seemed to work like a charm to wake up the lazy bulls. The figure of 8500 was being touted to difficult to break but bitcoins has broken it with ease. I think now it's a one side rally for the crypto king.

The price of bitcoin has been swinging from the early days so it is just a normal behaviour but still people are getting scared and selling their coins while there is a price fall.And as younsaid bitcoin might change the future system but we don't have to compare it with gold we have to compare them with fiat only because that is the perfect enemy or rival of cryotocurrency.

Currently no one is regret in Bitcoin because all are understand the potential of this coin. You're couldn't be more wrong. ALthough BTC has been in a bubble period multiple times, it is not a bubble by itself. An asset that is a bubble by itself has only popularity, no actual use. People are in only to get some money and get out. It's not like that with BTC as it has some actual uses and companies are starting to see it. Just today i've read about Walmart being interested in the blockchain. The insurance companies are looking at it as well. BTC is here to stay.

I am no expert but I think we have more room for decline and that this is just a bull trap. We will go down to around 5-6k and then go sideways for a few months. Then comes the alts season and then new btc ath by the end of the year. Either way, it is bound to grow. Just keep hodling.

I have kind of stopped making assumptions now. I do hope it is only up from now on but we can never be sure. One thing I am sure about is it would definitely go up in future.

The reason for the volatility has been the fact that several countries are trying to put in place regulatory measures to prevent some illegal uses of bitcoin and so investors gradually sell off.But yes,the blockchain technology is very innovative and as it stands now is in its nascent phase with gradual mass adoption gradually happening.Probably with time,bitcoin may become non-existent but the technology will remain just like the internet has remained but some earlier internet ideas have died out.

We still can't be sure yet if bitcoin already hit the bottom, there are still a couple of months left before the year ends and a lot could happen in these months. I can't tell yet if that was the bottomest of bitcoin yet, we still can't predict the future of bitcoin and to think an upcoming fork is going to happen again so I'm guessing bitcoin will drop back again, I just don't know to what amount it will drop down to.

Indeed, bitcoin has hit its bottom price value this past few months. However, today we can see that bitcoin's price is rising and maybe that because there are more investors trusted bitcoin and they were holding it which help bitcoin's price rise up to now. Maybe we should still continue to support it so that it will rise more and we could gain more profit.

Yes i think bitcoin has hit the bottom. The first quarter has ended with the bottom at $6,500. Its going nowhere but up. It may have slowly increased but looking at the trend its going up slowly but surely. We have eliminated panic sellers thus the ones left holding bitcoin are the strong ones.

There is no true, unconditional value, everything is conditional and bitcoin does not interfere with being another conditional value.

Like all other financial markets bitcoins also has a hike and a dip in the crypto market. After last years hitting the highest price of $ 19000 USD then the market started plunging and came up to $7000 USD which had a huge fall, now the bitcoins started to recover from the drop and have come up to $ 9000 USD again the  bitcoin crypto market will have a huge leap in the crypto currency world. There is possibility for the bitcoins to cross $ 3000 USD soon. Every year the price of bitcoins keeps on appreciating.

We will not have to end for the end of this year in my opinion, it has already started happening from last few days. We will see similar behavior multiple times this year followed by price correction. This s because a lot of people had invested at high price levels and they would like to cash out when price rises.

Today the BTC prices are rising again and their price will hit the price at the end of 2017. That is the most prosperous time of BTC, and in the future, the price of BTC will increase more than now.

Obviously it looks like we hit the bottom at $6+++ that why the market is on the recovery mode right now. I don't know for sure though that we can see a parabolic rise up to the end of the year because we all know how the market is very fragile. Your statement seems legit but nobody knows exactly how thing will go for bitcoin or cryptocurrency. The blockchain certainly is the way of the future and some companies are already incorporating it into their system like Samsung. Now if the future is blockchain tech, then bitcoin would also be.

I do not think that. I think the bitcoin market hit bottom when the bitcoin price goes down to 4000$. That really is the bottom of 2018. And the current bitcoin at 8700$. Next month I think its price will go down. after reaching 4,000$. the market will go up strongly. same as in 2017

i think $7000 is the lowest point in bitcoin , this year . it's recovering now , in May it will cost more than $15000 . by the end of 2018 , its peak will be over $50000 , this could be a conservative prediction .

I think it's too early to say that bitcoin descended to the bottom and now it will only grow. Bitcoin will still have corrections, but when and how low it will fall or who can not say. The waves will still be there.

I think the price of bitcoin depends mainly on whether more new funds are encrypt, the volume of transactions in the last few months is very low, and we don't see more new investors joining, and I think this time is a good correction for bitcoin. yeah right. bitcoin didnt actually hit the bottom yet because 6k is still too big to be called a bottom rather we can call it bottom only when it reaches 3k up to 1k usd dollar. Yes , the price of the coin will still depend on the demand and supply. i think the demand these past months are low , that is the reason why bitcoin became stable and somehow decreases a little bit bit now , the current market is now recoverring.

I definitely support your idea guy! Well, most of of who has taken part in bitcoin market all know that this market is extremely volatile, no one can say for  sure anything previously. Moreover, through its both development and reputation, there are much more bad rumour or bad news from bitcoin, even almost governments of many different countries are trying to ban or prevent people from using bitcoin, which makes a huge influence in bitcoin value.In short, there is no dip forever. Also this time is not the end of 2018, bitcoin always has a big  potential to go increased.

Hi, I think that there is a very high probability that another coin this year will take first place in crypto-currencies. Even now there is much faster, safer, cheaper to pay for transactions and most importantly - anonymous currency.

The Bitcoin market has bottomed out for 2018, this is the time to start buying Bitcoin again. Bitcoin not only got out of the recession, but even just up and coming up from now on.

I think so, bitcoin may had already hit bottom during the bear market last march this year. Bitcoin is playing at $9k USD where I think this is already stabilizing at this price level and still getting stronger than ever. It has come down very low in 2018. It's price peaked in the year 2017. At the beginning of the year, the price came down a lot. There is complete faith in bitcoin. The price will be revised again. Bitcoin went down a lot this year if we compare it to December, but I'm not so sure we've already touched the bottom. It could be, but this market is too unpredictable at the moment.

Well, I honestly think that you have a good point there my friend. In fact, I even think that the price of bitcoins as of today is a clear sign that we are about to see the bullish season again and that the bearish season is almost over. The only thing that bothers me is that bitcoin may not go up as much as last year since a lot of people have already woke up and realized that alts have a lot more potential to give better profits that bitcoins. Other than that, I think we're good.

We are just in the bottom but after this year or maybe before the year ends it will bring back the last years price, but talking about technology. If somebody doesn't know what really is it then the forward move will keep slow, but if a person knows what is the capability of bitcoin and its blockchain then maybe banks will complain. It is correct that Bitcoin hit the bottom line but it look likes that Bitcoin can shoot up from here, in April to May it will be float around 8K to 10K. After that it will go up rapidly very rare chances to dump again.

We might not hit the highest price this year, but we will have a good momentum at the end of this year and hopefully we will have a big rally next year.

Still got two thirds of the year left and that leaves plenty of time to find scarier bottoms. To me at least the market at present looks entirely like bots looking to rape shorts and longs. There's no FOMO and little regular demand.

If said bots decide it's more profitable to brutalise the price in the near future I'm not so sure there'll be many people interested in trying to stop them.

The recent fall is very big and it wasn't expected by most. However it can also signify that the upcoming pump to come is also big.

It's reaction to the past incident where the rise is also big so the fall for the bottom has been big and luckily it was done. This is now the time for bitcoin to start moving up.

Technically, the volatility of bitcoin is what makes it reign on the market over the past years. Its value may decrease due to certain events and circumstances, but it would recover soon after. The problem nowadays is that, people tend to generalize and conclude that bitcoin will end soon, which I think is far from happening. Just to give you an example, last month the prices of bitcoin were around $7,500. Currently, its price is sitting consistently around $9,500 and will reach $10,000 soon.
That is why, bitcoin may hit the bottom for 2018 but it still is a good investment option for short-term yield/profit.


What makes the society skeptical is the media and collective influences from other investors as well. Most newbie investors who do not even know about bitcoin (who just invested without having to search for its background) tend to complain about the recent price drops, where in fact, it is a common scenario in the market. Right, we still do have a lot of time in our hands to know how things are going to end up turning out. If bitcoin has attracted lots of new investors last year by its wonderful rally from $1k to $20k and those people are waiting for perfect buying points then there will be no doubts that there will be no more bottoms for 2018.

Judging from what has happened in the past with bitcoin's movement. We all know how easy it was for bitcoin at some point to bore holes on what we all assumed could be a support and dug past it. I dont treat any amount higher than 1$ as bottom for bitcoin because bottom for me means zero. What I mean is, even though the price goes down sometimes, you dont have  to let yourself be worried just because of the sudden decrease of value because it is sure to increase at any moment. Now what I can say in your  speculation is that you are too paranoid to say that we have reached the bottom.

Well the best thing about this is that a positive market will again attract investors in. We've seen the volume increasing this past month and if anything, that's a good sign of things to come. Hopefully it get's sustained though so we can welcome the bulls back

In a sense we are at a little bit stable market now as the value is going around 9 thousand dollars that is why it is considering a little stable by exports that is going for us to buy and utilize the time we are wasting in thinking more and more all the time. The price has hit the bottom last month and now the time has been changing with the passage of time, the value is sitting itself to jump high.

There are always some rapid and sharp drops in price to always look forward to which I believe anything can still happen. I normally do not use present moment to judge the state of bitcoin since we have seen the market hit some levels before and still ended up going back below that level even when it was once a huge support. The market will always do anyhow as it wants or pleases, but calling the bottom at early this year when we have not even gotten past $12k is really not it for me.

I must agree that we are all expecting the downfall of prices up to $6000 levels which happened must be a bottom for this year. The consistent increase of trading volume across major exchanges are confirming the in-flow of new investors which may take bitcoin prices beyond $50k too.

Let's hope that its rally is already done, but if not then we just need to treasure the most out of it, try to earn or invest as much as we can that when it's in dip we have reserves.

Or maybe what we are seeing is that the bears season may finally come to an end. From the last bottom of $6500 to the current price of above $9000 indicates that investors may have been renewed their interest once again. So its time for us to recover and we might see the price goes above $10000 in the next coming weeks. The price keeps fluctuating though in the last couple of days but I don't think that its a sign that we will dip further. It may be really a sign that good things are ahead of us and the possibility of hitting another all-time-high at the end of the year is not far off.

It's not really that new investors are jumping in, but more so that there was a lot money that comes from securing profits at near peak levels waiting to enter again. New investors need confidence in order to start jumping in, and that confidence needs to be in form of an increasing price. Once we smash through the $10,000 level that confidence will get a massive boost, and new capital will actually start flowing in.

Another major contributing factor will be that more and more large parties are focusing on private deals to obtain a large number of Bitcoins, and these coins will likely come directly from miners. It all comes down to a lack of trust in current exchanges, which I perfectly understand. In other words, with less lessing pressure from miners, the market will face even less resistance in the forthcoming years. It's pretty safe to say that the OTC market has already surpassed the regular trading volumes, and the gap will keep growing with how incompetent exchanges are.

If it is about market then be happy because in market bitcoin price is getting high because of high demand, bitcoin is getting famous for instant increase in price, a lot of investors are now again buying bitcoin which is contributing very well in making bitcoin valuable and high in price, if this month price of bitcoin is 9000k dollar next will become above this for sure.

Bitcoin has already touched the bottom when the price was at $6k which was the last strongest support. Since Bitcoin has already bottomed out, price is undergoing a trend reversal while building upper support one after the other. Quarter 2 is usually the bullish one followed by the bearish 3rd quarter. I expect price touch $15k mid term that is before July ends. After that a correction can take place ending with a bullish trend with expected BTC price to $25k.

I agree with the fact that bitcoin is still in its early adoption phase, and its prices will be considered to be extremely low in the long run when bitcoin actually gets more attention from newer adopters, compared to now when even though there is some hype but not a lot of real users.

However, I don't think that it's guaranteed that BTC markets have hit bottom for 2018 already.

IMHO, after this rally there may be a pretty big correction that take us down to test the support at $6k, which may not hold up. We're still bearish overall as a market, since everyone got cautioned by the huge pullback at the start of the year. Wouldn't surprise me to see lower lows for the year, although I'm as bullish as anyone on the long term prospects of BTC.

That's a good signs of bitcoin to slowly gains its value and even if the bearish continues to affect the price to be more volatile, at least we have hope for our holdings. Hopefully the price corrections and all of our expectations will be meet. I am still confident that in June we will be able to experience how bitcoin price will be pumping, just like what happened the last year's situation bull run was in good track so $25k will be achievable and will provide huge profit to lots of holders.

I think what you mentioned is true, because the conditions of bitcoin prices can already be seen from the graphs that create bouncing prices up again and hopefully that can make the price of bitcoin expensive again like the end of 2017.

I think the price of bitcoin in 2018 hasn't reached the lowest price, it's also because the journey of bitcoin prices hasn't arrived at the end of the year so no one will know that bitcoin prices can fall even deeper or can't fall again.

The cryptocurrency never has a bottom. When the cryptocurrency starts to fall, all the data and reference answers will have no effect!

the thread was opened at the 19th of April. And today the price is lower than that date. this means it is not easy to predict the dip of the BTC price. Altcoins are even worse than BTC. And I hope 6k is the dip.
You never know. this market has low liquidity.

Well, it startled me be it doesn't bother me at all because I know that it will rise again. In case panicking it is better to be calm and think some strategies to turn it into a positive one like buy and hold it for a long time. We cannot predict this one hence, we should expect for unexpected phenomenon.

Of course, no one can't know for sure. Market could change very quickly and price is defined and redefined all the time according to demand and supply and outside influence.
Besides, the year is not over yet and anything is still possible including further dump. Hope this will not happen but to sustain from predictions about the lowest and highest price benchmark would be advisable.

I have been saying this for 3-4 months now. Anything lower than $5.8k is unlikely at this point, it can still go down a wee bit but it won't for a big drop.

We already hit the dip and now we are either going to go up or we are going to swing small amounts for a long time like back in 2013-2014 times and wait until a next big rush happens, without that we are not going to get a decent return or we are not going to see a big drop neither. We better get used to these prices because it looks like it is here to stay and not going anywhere anything soon. The price of bitcoin seems stable for now and standing there all comfy.

Moreover, I just have another concern over OP's statement. Yes, bottom for 2018 means, will we have another deeper bottom in 2019  or how we can be sure about market will turn to up trend in 2018 itself. Anyway, I just conclude like the bottom for current down market might have already achieved and we are into consolidating period before getting into another rally toward a new all time higher price levels for bitcoins.

It is useless to expect the market to do exactly the same that it did the previous year, I know that everyone wants that to happen again, but I really do not see the market being ready for another bull run like that, so the best thing that you can do right now is to protect yourself and not sell your coins for such a low price, if you do that and you can wait until the market recovers then it's likely that we will reach a new all time high and at that moment you can sell if that is what you want.

Even though in 2018 this is a low point even now it is getting lower, I still am still eager to wait because the change will definitely occur it will not stop at this low point onwards, the market always fluctuates so I keep calm because surely every year there must be a pair receding prices, and maybe in the next year there will be a reversal of the current low point and prices will soar to high profits ready to be obtained

Patience is the best thing to do at this very point. No one can say exactly that this is the bottom for 2018 as the price is really struggling. So we can hold rather to be in panic sell because of the strong fluctuations of the price.

Over the past 8 months, bitcoin has suffered an all time low 3 times if i remember it well when it hit an all time low of 5,000+. I am glad i have invested on one of the occasions that it hits 5,000 mark and i am happily holding it now with hopes that it will rise again this coming December.

  Its good to be an optimism mate, even the current prices are declining still we have to hold our coins for the bright and secured profits when the stability of the market will occur . And I believe bull run will appear before this year end, but we have to widen our patience and be positive for the fast progression of the market.

After many months we still can’t predict the bottom because from the time you posted this still value of bitcoin has twice drops to $5000 level again so saying the bottom had reached are far from reality.i believe that we may drop to $4000 level first to start pumping again
