Introduction

On 1 April 2018 developer “iodev” launched Eden, and over four days sold an estimated 90 masternodes before disappearing. He deleted the discord channel and would have succeeded in deleting the github code repository had it not been for the speedy action of several community members.
Within minutes @AT-sONk had opened a new discord channel, most of the community found its way there within the next few hours, and over the next days recruited more volunteers to save the project, with the goal from the outset to establish a community driven re-purpose for the project.



What in the world is REDEN?
REDEN is a direct continuation of the coin once known as EDEN. On April 4, the developer of EDEN, iodev, ran off with almost 16 bitcoins (around $128,000) worth of investment money that was to be used for exchanges, listings, and developments. Today, the community's response to this terrible incident is the birth of a new coin: REDEN.
How will REDEN help stop scams from occuring?
1. New and current Altcoins will have the opportunity to list on the reden.io website with any amount of collateral in REDEN. There will be no maximum or minimum.
2. On reden.io, anyone can publicly view the collateral offered by the developer.
3. It is then up to the investor whether he wants to invest. Should the dev run away with the investor's money, scam victims may exchange their coins for a portion the REDEN collateral. [A process will be established to verify bona fide claims and distribute the REDEN collateral.]
REDEN will be the altcoin that ends developer scamming:
a) Investors will have the opportunity to view publicly offered collateral
B) REDEN will also create a platform for the community to monitor projects for suspicious activity, and share and implement best practices for good projects. We have made a start on this with our #scam-watch and #scam-stories discord channels.
i) #scam-watch: help advise investors of possible scams
ii) #scam-stories: scam victims may publicly post their scam stories, whether it be by a developer or Discord user, and post donation addresses for community members to help.

Another value of REDEN is its active and dedicated community: polls are posted every step of the way and community members are allowed to vote and decide the future of REDEN at each step of the roadmap.

I think, if it helps: the reason some people ALREADY see REDEN is because the old chain on which the dev ran away was already renamed to REDEN.  But that was just the old chain becoming temporarily supported until swap.  Now a new chain is starting (with a swap) and this one will OFFICIALLY be called REDEN.

I think the damage has been done by the EDEN scam, it's going to take a few brave souls to invest it REDEN before it's going to get anywhere.

OK folks, seeing lots of FUD here from people who havent followed the project since idiotdev left on 4 April.

Here's my ELI5 on the situation, picking up on some questions above.

• a new team took over the coin within minutes, with a view to the project becoming a transparent community project from the outset
• a new discord was set up and has been very active with community votes and suggestions and the team expanded with 100% volunteers and has depth and breadth
• people have continued to mine reden on the old chain, but it is not fit for purpose going forwards, and the new chain specs were voted by the community
• we move to a new chain, so a 1:1 swap of coins based on old chain block 37050 will be done, you have plenty of time - one week - to do that
• the first 800 blocks are 0 reward to allow the chain to stabilize and give mn holders of which we have plenty time to swap coins and setup
• the github will be linked as soon as the new chain launches at 22:00 UTC 21st April
• a website is ready to go live too that includes core teams full identities, and links to a consultative whitepaper on our anti-scam purpose
• reden continues to be actively traded in the discord OTC, and will aim to list on a mid market exchange in due course

REDEN is not a scam.  I've been following everything closely since the launch of the old coin.  Everything the new dev has stated is true.  Everyone who is part of the active discord knows this.  There is no need to spread FUD here.   The wallets for the new chain will be posted by the dev soon. the trade channel in discord for the old EDEN coin is now locked, and the coin swaps will happen during the next week to swap old EDEN you have at the time of the snapshot for the new REDEN.   thanks to the new dev for taking over so quickly and repurposing the coin.

Miners: Please re-distribute the hashrate. HF has almost the entire network (understandable - its a great pool :), followed by 1/3 with Alttank. There are several other pools to select from. So far this is a very centralized release, which is anti-blockchain, and also dangerous.

Yesterday we got listed on qtrade.io as their first alt-coin to be listed.

This is the story:
- Tuesday I got contacted by Eric[qtrade.io] about listing on qtrade.io.
- I asked him a couple of questions, where the answers were not  satisfactory for us as a team.
- I proposed the team if we would consider having them list us.
- We decided that we would not want to be the first coin on a new exchange.
- On top of that we wanted to wait till after the swap before going really further.

I think that this poject will succeed to get the maximum amount of money. I also will invest some small amount of money to become part of their profit sharing scheme through this investment.

As we have been rather quiet in here the last weeks. let me give you all an update on our progress:

Swap
We started and concluded the swap of the old Eden coin to Reden coin:

These were the numbers at the end of april 30th after officially closing the form for swap submissions:

Since the swap ended some of the open claims have been resolved and in the days after the swap some people have come forward with some very legitimate reasons why they could not make the swap so the total coins swapped is a bit higher than here. Because there are still some entries open and actively being pursued, these numbers have not yet been updated. Once these are closed the totals will be know but for now we have swapped about 85% of the total circulating supply of Eden at the chain swap.

On that matter since the community in discord has voted to end all swaps on the 2nd of may at 22h it is no longer possible to swap your old eden coins for new reden coins

Network

In the first 24-48 hours of the network we have had some problems with stability but the cause for this was determined and fixed by our development team. In the days following there was also an update of the wallets so that these problems should be mostly solved now. All wallets as of the latest version sync very good and should have no longer any problems with connecting to the network.

Mining
We have a network hash varying between 4.5 to 5 gh/s and growing over the last weeks. The difficulty is currently about 140 and this means that at the time of posting the following results can be had:

• 1080 ti: +/- 65 redn a day
• 1050 ti: +/- 15 redn a day
• rx560: +/- 12 redn a day

Masternodes
Currently we have 362 running masternodes with 54 requiring a restart or just started.
This means that a masternode is giving on average about 35 Redn a day.

Progress

Product
We are about to release a proof of concept of the rating/score/review system where as the results of any rating will be posted on our website. Stay tuned for that
In the mean time the dev team is working on determining the full course of action to realize the goals set out from the beginning. This involves looking for the technical solutions on how we can all implement it in a reliable way in the blockchain.

Exchange
We have been listed on a small new exchange which we can't endorse for the moment as we have not yet enough confidence in their reliability nor intentions in the long run. So you can trade Redn on qtrade as mentioned by that team earlier in this thread, but be cautious and do this at your own discretion. Don't say we have not warned you.

In the mean time we are contacting several bigger exchanges with some decent volume, to find out which are the exact conditions to be listed and what is the cost. By this process we have already eliminated quite a few and the following weeks we will present the possible candidates on our discord server to be voted for.

Crap...I hold scam coins, didnt see this til now, now i cant swap em since the swap is over? I see no reason to support this. Why is there a deadline anyway. If this is an anti scam, then shouldnt everyone that got scammed have the right to these coins? Isnt that the purpose?  Talking about a light being extinguished at the end of the tunnel.... Total bummer. What kind of community votes AGAINST keeping a swap open that they also got scammed with. Thats just wrong....They get to swap but not everyone? Is it a habit of yours to mine a new coin, see that it's a scam, and then never check on the status of that coin for 2 months? The community took this coin over a mere 30 mins after the scam Dev left, and began discussing options immediately. The coin was only 3 days old at that point, so when exactly did you leave and decide to not follow the progress of the community?

Of course community decided. Reden is a community project. Everyone has the possibility to vote on every decision regarding the coin and closing date of the swap period was one of the votes.

The reason the swap has a deadline is because it takes a lot of attention and time away from the development of the new project.
Because of the decentralized nature of cryptoprojects, there is simply no way to keep everybody informed. That also means that you as an coin owner need to keep an eye on what happens with your assets. We have been posting in the old BTCT topic that the coin got taken over, this post on here is already up for a while, people have been gathered in the new discord. We have almost 2000 members in discord, so you sure would have been informed about the exitscam on the 4th of april by the old developer.
The coin has been renamed a while before the swap, most of the pools, pretty sure hashfaster was one of them, did change the name also. This would have given you enough indication that something was going on.
You are off course totally free to not support our project and cause. you are free to have your opinion on our project.

we did not scam you out of your coins, you got offered the change to follow us on the new chain, you chose to ignore/forgot to follow this invitation and so you stayed on the other end of the fork. That chain does not have any value anymore and so is abandoned. I'm sorry for that situation.

I hope one day you will use the service we are building, to exactly avoid situations where scam projects exists and so you do not have to keep a close eye on all projects you have stake in. Although I still advise you to do so.

[Community Vote]: Exchange listing Options

Reden coin are currently traded in relatively small volumes via OTC in discord and also on qtrade.io a new and untested exchange that Reden Project cannot endorse but listed Reden anyway.

Within Reden Project team the consensus, albeit not unanimous, is that a listing might be premature until we are further down the roadmap, but also we are aware that a significant portion of the community would like to see Reden on a more established exchange and we did indicate we would seek listing by the end of May. We all agree our first exchange must be affordable (1btc or less), but also be growing, reputable and have reasonable volume.  

We now have several exchange options that the team could support. The options are:

1. Wait to List Reden Project will launch its proof of concept product and grow the community by marketing this. Revisit decision by end June.

2. crypto-bridge.org. Decentralized, growing volume c.1 million

It definitely is dangerous to deal with new projects. That is what we would like to change, we might include in the future a way to review more than just coin projects.

Concerning the trading on qtrade, I know there has been trading and people have been able to withdraw reden and btc. So that is a positive. However if you use it, do only use it to trade and withdraw immediately, just look what happend to exvo.io. But that is a best practice in general, never leave anything on an exchange.

Love that it will list on cryptobridge, however, whats the plan to protect investors upon listing on an exchange? Please dont make the mistake many other coins did of listing just to satisfy miners / sellers. Listing on an exchange should come when there are more interested buyers than sellers, or this could backfire bad.

I understand what you are saying and that is also why I personally did not vote to go on an exchange already, but the community vote turned out otherwise.
However 6 things that might help here:

• The listing happens only when the community that voted, also donates the remaining 0.5 btc. after 36 hours we have managed to raise 0.086 btc. So we are not yet there. This also means that people have to invest before we can go on the exchange. This will hopefully limit the amount of dumpers.
• There has been an small new exchange (qtrade.io) where people have tried already several times to dump large amounts and yet the price is after the initial dump very slowly but consistently going up, the price over at that exchange has hanging around 500 sat. And there are only 10k coins available at time of writing. That means only 2 Masternodes, which is not a lot, if you keep in mind that the total circulating supply is about 4.5 million. Let's also not forget we only have a max supply of about 15 million.
• The rewards for mining and masternodes are also not that great. We are now in the biggest reward period and daily there are only 36K coins generated, that means about 7 masternodes a day.
• The ROI on a masternode is about 220% or about 30 redn a day. So we are also no high ROI project where people get a mass of coins and don't know what to do with them. We have 52% of the circulating supply locked in masternodes and another 20% of circulating supply is the total of the dev fund. (this % will decrease over time, as the dev fund is not growing and the circulating supply is). So about 72% of the coins is not on the market available.
• We are making a lot of progress and are working pretty rapidly towards a minimal viable product with monetization, so that we are becoming a project with a product instead of a project with a promise...
• Also at the moment there is no marketing at all, this will change once we have our proof of concept up. This will happen in the course of the week normally.
  

All these points might help that at the moment we get listed, the price will not dump to a point of no recovery. So are we going to try and control the price on CB to protect investors. But yes we have taken in consideration the fact that exchange listing without a working product is a risk.

The Reden Project team has worked to turn the project around on a volunteer basis since 2 April 2018.  We believe the project has been put back on stable footing with a new blockchain, a successful coin swap and a clear purpose that we are now beginning to implement.

We have a focussed core team with clear roles and responsibilities. We now need to implement a fair remuneration policy, and put the following funding and payment model to community referendum.

Key features of the Reden Project remuneration model will be:
Budget for a 15 person team  (eg 4 dev, 4 content/marketing, 4 CxOs & active advisors)
Budget based on average remuneration of 40 reden per day per person, that will be split into:

• Base pay of 20 reden per day for active team members
• Bonus pot of 20 reden per day to be distributed transparently within team
• Active advisors will also be eligible for a share of the bonus pot.

Max pay per active core team member 40 REDN.

At current traded prices 40 reden is approximately 2 US dollars, and this reflects the very high belief the team has in the Reden Project and future value of Reden coin.

To ensure the team remuneration is sustainable over the next months, until the project is generating income to cover its costs, we propose to fund it as follows:

• redencoin.org pool fees of c.75 coin per day
• part of the monetisation we are looking to implement starting from the first version of our product
• dev fund to cover the difference

We expect the coin value to increase and will review average daily remuneration then and regularly thereafter.

We believe this innovative funding model ensures the longer term ability of Reden Project to reward active team members for delivering results, and is linked to the value of reden coin.

I did 2 withdrawals of RVN from Cryptobridge to my Wallet - at Cryptobridge everything looks like they were successfully finished but they were NEVER transmited to RVN network .. and there is NOBODY to contact to solve this at Cryptobridge side, so i guess my coins are liteally lost ... :-(( For me this is end, will never use Cryptobridge again, too big risk to loose all coins ..

The promised proof of concept will be released this week, we are putting the finishing touches on the execution of it and once that is finished it will be released

Tipbot

The tipbot in Discord (https://discord.gg/8H6Cdha) is temporarily down, as we are working on moving it from it's server to another one and at the same time we are upgrading to bot with more functionalities and another code base that should be more stable. An update about the project, it is long overdue I would reckon.

Cryptobridge

The reason this update was delayed and not posted yesterday is that I tried to get a almost exact date from the guys over at cryptobridge, but that did not happen. The closest dat I have gotten after having paid our part of the listing fee, is that we will be listed in 10-20 days, we have been added to the queue and that queue is rather large with them stopping the listings for a week last week because of their problems.

Dev fund

As for now we have the dev fund all in 1 wallet address. with permission from the community I would like to split out the dev fund in several wallets, in the following distribution:

• 90K bounties wallet

We have had a very big concentration of hash rate on the dev pool lately. So it would be better to advise new miners to join another pool. For now we have 2 large pools, we have the devpool and we have the pool from thetechnicals competing for the largest hashrate.

Roadmap

As you all have seen probably our roadmap we had posted at the end of april is in a very urgent need of an update. We have shifted our focus from the collateral to the review as we need to build a reputation first and can only do the collateral part later. So we are reviewing and putting in place a new roadmap very shortly

I watched the video and I'm an even bigger Seth Estrada fan and a new Reden fan.  Have been mining Reden a few days now and it seems very consistent.  The wallet loads quickly which is really nice.  

The escrow services seems like a really big market to be explored... That is... If you could get some big name or even new-name businesses on board with supporting your escrow service it could be HUGE $$$ valuation for the coin and coin holders.   I'm thinking Bitmain... CB exchange price is not good for now. I dont know why Reden entered a price like that..Expectations are more than this. Even scam Eden price was more than this. Because Reden project is good and promising and the price should be at least 1K sat.

my guess is the scam of edem lost confident to most investors, ppl just want to cash in asap and cut their loses, just like what happen to bitconnect and bitconnectx. you need to show the coin development and slowly build back confident. is a hard path to take, hope the developers can focus on what is important

We are not to concerned about the price as of now, as we are still in the phase of building the first product. This means we have not yet enough to show to investors that the use of the blockchain is justified.

This however does not mean we are not annoyed by the price on cryptobridge, but it was to be expected as we still have dumpers, something every project has after launch on an exchange. In the first weeks we managed to have enough volume to keep the price up, but this has fallen over the last 2 weeks. We are however still progressing although it be at a slower pace than initially hoped.

This project will not fail, even if that means I myself have to learn how to code blockchain. We have made some changes and will be boosting the activity to attract new people.

Think the crypto space need a project like this but currently is cheaper for me to buy the coin direct from exchange than to mine due to my country electricity cost. Is hard to get the right formula to be openness, hold the coin developers responsible, equal rights. Collateral and voting right are tools, hope to see project in more detail. Bitcointalk is too noisy, scammer paradise.
