Do you think that someday the prices for Bitcoin will fluctuate less and ppl will be able to use more as a currency, and not only as a form of investment?

Yup, once bitcoin becomes accessible to everyone and is being used as global currency - then price will certainly become less volatile. New comers are the ones who are responsible for the price surge, so when the day comes that everybody has bitcoin (evenly) fluctuation becomes less.

I think so , if btc going to substitute with existing currencies , its value will fix or fluctuates will be less. and also there is another parameter : amount of btc. as you know it is 21.000.000 pieces.
after all btc be on market this also makes stabilization I think. ( But it is going to take so long time)

It can actually, so long as bitcoin gets evenly distributed as day pass by, price will fluctuate less until it comes to the point where people rarely notice it's fluctuations. Although that is the case, I don't think it will be used as a currency, but rather as an alternative way to pay. Bitcoin will also stay as a form of investment for a long time until fluctuation lessens, discouraging traders and investors to trade it further and it might encourage them to try use it for payments more.

to be a currency or a means of payment i think it takes a lot of support from the government. with many using bitcoin i guess fluctuations seem to be no problem, like the dollar index i think fluctuates too

Yes, Right now the market is not as matured as the equity ones. Once the market matures like when there are widely traded derivatives and ETFs on the exchanges it will  become extremely difficult to manipulate the market. These along with regulations will mutere the trading market and thus less fluctuations in the prices. But this will take a lot of time like 5 years from now.

Yes i believe so. For now people are seeing bitcoin as an asset because when they buy, the value of the btc increases or decreases. That's why not so many people are using bitcoin in their everyday purchases. But if bitcoin will somehow stabilize, it will be much easier to use bitcoin in our everyday lives. It will become more of a currensy than just an asset.

yeah, it will happen eventually. it may not look like it now because bitcoin is still pretty young and the market is still very small but if you look at the history and compare today with a couple of years ago you can clearly see this growth taking place.

additionally part of the huge volatility is because of the exchanges and the way they are. they are not trustworthy for people to leave open orders there so the order books are thin and that makes the volatility increase.

Yes I do think so as well. The time will come when the market will have more advances in terms of using the technology in different way than the current one. For now we lack the techs that can bring the crypto currencies to the life and real use will start in the time to come if this happens. Then my friend we will see some real usage bringing the market to somewhat cooler zone and thus making it worthy to transact rather than invest. Just like the way we are making use of the fiat then also the crypto will have some perfect balance of trades so making it far stable.

Maybe that speculation would be happen that someday the prices for bitcoin will fluactuate less and people  will be able to use more as a currency than in a form of  investment,if cryptocurrency will only one set of goal,but if digital currency system have so many ways of branches to used like,investment,mining ,faucet, etc.thats thinking or speculation that focus only in currency could not been implemented,because crypto is designed  for multi purpose digital system.

By fear is if bitcoin gets bigger and more inserted into society it will decrease its value along with less fluctuation, what is the problem with fluctuations anyway? As long the price is between a reasonable margni, it's also a good opportunity for good traders.

everything is very possible in this world. Until this moment I still believe it, I will not stop to try to get bitcoin. as we all know, that bitcoin is getting more and more popular. and price changes you can see for yourself, the interest of some countries and companies around the world you can also search on google. even the banking world is now studying bitcoin with its blockchain

For me prices will be only bigger and todays value of bitcoin will be like a joke for people in future so for me next months will be a big suprise for most of us (big pump for me).

I don't think it works this way. When bitcoin had a lot less users, the price was pretty stable. Look at the charts of all main coins and you will notice that for years nothing changed much, comparing to recent events. Thus, as more people join the market, we get more newbies who are so afraid of losing their money they keep panicking in case of any stupid news and lead the price to going mad. Only when all people become really okay with cryptocurrencies, get used to them just as to any new technology, then the prices are likely to stabilize, since people will start acting reasonable.

I think so, but if bitcoin is really going to be $250.000 after 4 years so in a very short time! these fluctuations are very natural, also with regulations and clarity in the market it will fluctuate less.

Yes, some day in the future we don't know when but it'll fluctuate less once the price of Bitcoin increases multiple times making it harder to clear buy and sell orders.

There's no way bitcoin is going to replace fiat.The limited supply won't help much with the stability because it mostly depends on the demand.

The way i see it is that as long as bitcoin is traded on exchanges by people only
interested as an investment the price will fluctuate so i cannot see this scenario ending.

I would place my bet that it will happen when the time comes that cryptocurrencies are far more accepted and that there is really fundamental value to it. Right now, people aren't really using cryptocurrencies as it is intended. Just take Bitcoins as the prime example. Based on Satoshi's paper, it should be used as a payment method or something that should replace cash. But does it do that? Not really. All it is now is a speculative investment that people keep on hodling in the hopes that one day it will be extremely expensive.

Probably if we have a coin that totally will be used as a real currency that can truly replace cash then that will be the day prices will no longer fluctuate as hard as today.

Your statement is totally confusing to me as the fluctuation does not play much a role when you use it as a payment method, because you exchange your fiat money at the time when you want to pay something with bitcoin. The high fluctuation is only a problem for investors if they buy high priced coins like bitcoin and then the price decreases huge!

But when more people uses bitcoin the price of bitcoin will get much expensive because it is only limited quantity on 21 million but the world population is 7 billion.So when there is little changes in the supply will increase the price in terms of USD.So we need to support the other crypto currencies as we to get stable price for bitcoin.

It seems like someone has used it, I've heard the news, that there are people who buy cars using bitcoin. it may be in the future bitcoin becomes a legitimate transaction money, but to make it happen it takes a process to introduce a bitcoin advantage program. we as bitcoin lovers should be able to introduce each other to friends who do not understand about bitcoin. with the bitcoin, our transaction gets easy use and faster in making payments, I hope bitcoin to be the originator for our financial system.

People were saying that the volatility would be way down when Bitcoin breaks into the hundreds of billions of dollar market cap range. Yet it doesn't appear to have happened at all. I was thinking about this last night, and the answer is no, as long as it's something that it's bought on exchanges. Someone will always pay more for a Bitcoin, or less.

With volatile bitcoin prices it is very difficult to set up the users (investors) to use it as a payment system (currency as appropriate). Unless if the prices of bitcoin is not volatile (they will most likely not happen) they will use bitcoin and altcoin as payment systems.

This is so unlikely to happen. I assume that you are seeing the world using only Bitcoin as a currency. Bitcoin alone is not enough. Imagine 7 Billion people using 2,100,000,000,000,000 satoshi as a currency, will you say that this is enough? No. That is very much scarce. And with this scarcity, we could easily assume that the price will continue to grow. Thus, the great fluctuation of price will stay.

Wrong logic , you know that usd , pounds , euro etc are actively traded and with much bigger volume. Is it make them volatile ? Not it's not. What makes them volatile are decentralized , where conventional currency centralized , there's regulation and everyone should obey on it.

Yes, the volatility will not remain forever. I believe that happens in the future when all people already well-understood Bitcoin as a boringly financial asset, the price will stabilize. You can still use Bitcoin as a currency - I was using for that purpose since I first started dealing with Bitcoin back in late 2013.
But also I can agree that when the price of bitcoin is 'destined' to go higher and higher people are either scared or reluctant to spen even 1 satoshi.
Sadly there is no way for us to know when or rather if, the price will stabilized, I don't think that we will see stable BTC price in the next 20 years.

No, I do not think that the fluctuations of bitcoin will ever decrease significantly. Two factors - the decentralization of bitcoin and its lack of security, when its price will be formed only on the basis of the ratio of supply and demand, will not allow this. Demand and supply will always be volatile and will always depend on various news factors. Moreover, I think that bitcoin's volatility will only increase with an increase in its price. This will always be influenced by people with unstable psyche who will be wary of their significant savings in the crypto currency, and with various negative news will sell them and this will affect the lowering of its rate. Other persons such a reduction in its price can be perceived as triggering negative news and this can cause real panic when people massively sell their bitcoins. Under such circumstances, the bitcoin rate may drop very significantly. This can happen many times. Therefore, volatility will remain very large.

The problem with this is those people are still buying with fiat. The dealerships are in agreement with payment processors that instantly exchange the coins into fiat and even update the prices of the products every few minutes, so that the person buying will pay the right amount in USD or EUR.
If you buy something for BTC and the person instantly converts it to USD it's the same as if you converted it and sent him USD. The only advantage for you is you won't have to register and verify on a bitcoin exchange, but it doesn't benefit the currency in any way.

That is the market, the prices might fluctuate less in some days , this will the everyday event of the coin market ,it will changing from time to time , so all we gonna do is always view the market prices value of altcoins , especially when you are engage in trading actvities of cryptocurrency.

In the recent days the fluctuations are not as prominent as they were before and we cannot expect a decentralized currency to be more stable than this .

It's slowly reaching a mean value and the funny thing is that the mean value remains constant for a while and then change again ..

One thing is certain once Bitcoin dips most tokens and coins will dips also so there is a chance that prices will fluctuate but the amount will base on Bitcoin dips. The reason for that is because most coins/tokens are using Bitcoin as the main pairing in exchanges or when trading.

I do not think this will happen. Bitcoin is a form of investment and it is made up of Blockchain technology. I think bitcoin only has money transfer function, it does not have any function other than this.

I think the fluctuative crypto currency is normal. several factor can affects it. so, it is possible.

See whenever the prices touches the last peak, you will see less fluctuations. Because after, that there would be no panic selling as most investors are in profit.

I agree to that, when the time comes that it will be reached it's globalize adaptation it will possible that bitcoin can produce lesser fluctuations and makes a little bit possibility that it could be make a fixed value. However, in other hand it's hard to think and I have a doubt that it will fixed it's value because as we remember this system form to be decentralized and no one's can control it so I think it will steadily what fluctuations it has for now and in the future. But will never know and maybe it  will happen or not the most important is we can benefited from here and it will last forever.

The volatility of BTC is already 10% and it is constantly going down.
At the same time, nobody is immune to seasonal price fluctuations, like the one that we experienced in late 2017, that originated from the decisions of key market players.

I'm not sure it will be happen because as far as I know it is decentralized and I believe that as long as the people demand is continuously increasing it also making sense that it will be much surpass it's past years performance. It means it can be much more producing a lot of benefits and makes much higher value of it. But in other side, it also possible that it can able to have less in fluctuation therefore it can able to serve all the peoples that involve to it's system. If the fluctuation will be removed it is pretty much going to be a currency than an investment, because an investment has its value to grow over time but when we say currrency it is a fixed value. There's no more bitcoin, there's no more profit when this happens. So long as we hold on to our coins we will see a more stronger crytpo currency and a more stable one no doubt. Exchanging all you coins will mske the market weaker. But not exchanging them will leave the market stagnant. It's a matter of circulating a certain amount of coins the market enough to make it stable and not flood it. Increased supply flosting in the market will dip the prices significantly. Then again, that is how i see it. I'm no expert.

Right. It is that even distribution that would make the value of bitcoin to get to be what it is but let's face one fact, as it is now, I still do not see it getting evenly distributed. Haven't you seen the current trend? Bitcoin has remained at the same price from last seven days. Fluctuations are a part of every trading market but what makes cryptos different is the fact that the fluctuations experienced here are too extreme and people either make tons of money or lose the same.

The fluctuation that we see is because of the speculative analysis of bitcoin in the world.  Its illegal at some places, not accepted as legal tender at others, while normal at some places. These kinds of unequal distribution of bitcoins brings this discrepancy in the system to wheather bitcoin is trustable or not. What if it dies tomorow,  and different questions like this.

The biggest issue of bitcoin today is a very small marketcap of about $ 150 billion, this is certainly an easy figure to speculate, if bitcoin marketcap reaches 100x from now or over $ 15 trillion then fluctuations will be very small.

I don't think it will fluctuate less because we already know how volatile bitcoin is. And in the future comes if bitcoin will become more and more expensive, expect it to fluctuate more because people who are investing now might sell their bitcoin on that day already.

I don’t think that fluctuation will ever stop in cryptomarket or any financial market. These are because supply and demand never stops fluctuating. Even the fiat never stop fluctuating these are the economic laws of financial system.

It's crappy seeing constant decline with bitcoin price but it will eventually recover.

I'm not too sure bitcoins fluctuations rely to heavily on the acceptance of governments. I think BTC in its essence is outside of the current financial system, this is not to say that it can be a success without institutions because on ramps and off ramps are vital but I can see the price reaching 100k without the influx or approval of major governments. It has a real use and value if you look past the bad publicity. Once at 100k I think the price will stabilise enough to be a decent alternative currency.

Yeah certainly I agree with it. One of the most variable reasons of position are because of this news that are spreading and its current standing to different countries. We people have different perspective and has different opinions on what we hear and see, but that aside will conclude that it is still unsure whether it can be trusted or not, we cannot also deny that those can affect the market as we can see.

The reason why Bitcoin is so volatile is due to the presence of so many day-traders. The trading volume is quite high when compared to the available supply and this makes the asset more unstable. In future, Bitcoin may get more stable if more people opt for long-term holding.

Pretty much yup. We need adoption and growth not to mention the support of the agencies of the world. Without all of that you can forget about it. If we have adoption and growth but no support=underground market that will be volatile. If we have support but no adoption or growth=people hoarding it forever. We need both in place in order to move the needle, and only then will Bitcoin become more stable than it is now.

Yeah, that is definite but not very soon and we cannot know if this will even be the case in the next decade or even more. The thing here is with a larger market cap, the prices of a market actually would be fluctuating less and that is when we will end up seeing more of a matured market than some pretty huge volatile market that we have today.

With bitcoin fluctuating less, we would have gotten to the stage of mass adoption as currency usage already and by then; I can imagine what the value would have been like.

Maybe when there is wide range adoption and supply get properly diversified and not only some percentage hold the maximum supply, we will see lesser volatility. But since Bitcoin is build upon deflation model, the volatility will not completely end. There will always be more demand and supply will end, thus, increasing the price which make people hoard Bitcoin and hence, cutting the supply. These are all the hurdles in Bitcoin becoming a less volatile payment mode.

It is most defiantly a thing that is going to happen eventually, because if the think about it, at a certain point when we reach the 21 million supply mined, the price is going to start fluctuating slowly and it would be considered at the bitcoin standers stable, and i am pretty sure at that point bitcoin would be considered as a currency worth using as a regular payment.

Bitcoin is being used as a form of payment and not only as a form of investment only. The only thing is that most people just prefer to use bitcoin as a form of investment because of future worth. Even if, the price fluctuations, less, many people will still choose to hold it instead of spending it. There are regulations in place, but the technology is so advanced, that it's taking longer then expected for policy makers to make the right call on how to exactly address each of the problems that arise for cryptocurrencies.

Definitely yes! As Bitcoin or other crypto currencies become more stable, it will fluctuate less and really become a powerhouse. Of course banning any world altering events in the market that could screw up the price (like all the countries banning crypto currency). According to my experience, the price of Bitcoin usually keeps stable at a rate before huge changes in the value. It seems the whales have to prepare all things carefully and be sure all things are ok to control the market. So, with the market like now, I think the price of Bitcoin can changes so much in this month because it kept at range price $9000 to $8800 longer than 10 days, it's a strange thing for the volatility of Bitcoin price.

Whales will always play along in the market. So, I think even if mass adaptation happens, bitcoin will always be volatile. Imagine of the number of people investing on crypro increases, so does the number of panic sellers.

Prices fluctuations is really  caused by market activity the more  people  buy the tendency of higher price once the price stabilize its either the buying and selling is in equilibrium but if it is increasing means many who bought but only few who sold and if it's price is lower  it means  many will  sold  out but  only few who bought..

Yes, in some cases things that happened don't repeat itself but in cryptocurrency system history do repeat itself if you can keep track of the record and this where experienced count in predicting the future price of crypto currency. In addition, if you could check my post history, I predicted that the market recovery will start last month which it did happened because whwn ever blood bath happened at the Q1 it will stopped the first month of the Q2.

I think its less a case of when people start using the currency more and more of a case of when the volatility will subside which some say won't be until it reaches the 100k mark. Once the volatility calms down I think then it will be used as a currency. It's hard to say "yes". Even for now for someone who lost some crypto coin assets, some countries do not meddle in this matter. perhaps they have not found enough technology to monitor the circulation of all the crypto currencies that exist and even those that will be created. There are a lot of currencies in the world, almost every country have their own kind of physical money like dollar, yen, peso,  euro, and etc. These currencies are centralized and controlled by the government and the world bank. Unlike bitcoin and other cryptocurrency, they are decentralized and affected mainly by its huge investor in its own market cap. If this straight forward concept would be corrected and become accessible by the government regulations, maybe then, prices would move and fluctuates less.

Bitcoin is not in a bubble right now, it was in a bubble when the price almost reached 20000, but now that the price is below 9000 and it doesn't seem that is going to reach that price for some time we cannot say that bitcoin is in a bubble anymore, the technology has improved a lot in the last year, and the developers are not stopping and are working as hard as possible to improve it even more.

In due course of time, the volatility may decline by a bit, but still wild swings of more than 10% per day may not be that rare.

You never know what to expect from the market but I do believe in the bitcoin's power and I do not think it will be too  low otherwise will get to a vey high level.

Of course, When the market demand is more stable, I think  fluctuates less. The price will more stable. we will see it soon.

I do not know for sure but based on the logic of market fluctuations, that is did not happen, supply bitcoin fixed, I mean there is no addition of the amount of bitcoin being mining at the moment, while every day newcomers increasingly banya and will mempengeruhi demand and trend.

To me the high fluctuations are still a sign of uncertainty. That is why I suppose the crypto world could become more stable once it is clear how regulations in the major counries will definitely look like. But a stable crypto world? That is something I do not think we will ever see.

I believe that when the mainstream joins Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies we will see a less volatile crypto market. This might happen when the trust in fiat goes away and/or if we have another crash and people start seeking a safeheaven.

I think that's going to happen, because basically bitcoin is an exchange rate or a digital currency that is created to transact.

I think that's a common thing, because I already know if the price of digital Cryptocurrency assets that price is very volatile, can go up and down anytime. and if the price of the coin is down, it is an opportunity to buy a lot of coins, then we hold and sell later when the price has gone up.

In my opinion. bitcoin will remain an investment tool in the future, not as money we can use like the money that exists today. this is due to the value of very fluctuating bitcoin so it is very difficult to be used as money replacement. if bitcoin has a fixed value, it may in the future be able to replace the current money but only used transactions digitally.

Yes, Right now the market is not as matured as the equity ones. The time will come when the market will have more advances in terms of using the technology in different way than the current one.  I am sure that it will stabilize in the nearest future and it will be possible to use it as the main  currency. So I always expect that the market of Crypto is always volatile.

I think that two factors will affect on the reduction of volatility. First, it is the arrival of institutional investors on the market - now this process is just beginning. Secondly, the more  crypto market is regulated, the less price fluctuations will be.

No time a limit is enough for bitcoin as it always keep on moving it use to increase and decrease all the time. Most of time people use to use bitcoin as an investment and they are forgetting about all other technologies, so it is only because bitcoin is full of profit it use to increase and decrease in price which gives us chance to earn high and buy huge amount of profit from our bitcoin savings. You are saying that bitcoin was created by satoshi to transfer values from one person to the other without a third party, and that is how currencies began, so bitcoin is a currency whether some people like it or not, it is a very special type of currency and it has many other characteristics that makes it superior to a traditional currency but it still fits the definition.

Scam ICO's definitely affect the trust of the people to invest in crypto. Once crypto will fully regulated, it could be possible that ghost project will stop and could be the reason that investors will give back their trust again. Thus, it could be a big help also of prices stability.

It is true and valid, the price will someday fluctuate a little as with the passage of time there is an increase and benefit recording in Bitcoin. The more the adoption is making the more the fluctuation will be less and vice versa. The day at which the price fluctuates a little will be the day of Bitcoin success and this would be the most absolute success as the Bitcoin is now in normal stages.

I do not think that will happen, because the characteristics of bitcoin itself is not a currency that can be used by everyone in the world but almost like the nature of the currency. and bitcoin is already believed by everyone as a form of investment.

Today (25.05.2018) we see that there are slight fluctuations. I think these fluctuations can be evaluated for short-term trading. We will probably spend a few more calm days like this, but I think we will see some serious fluctuations from time to time. Of course, seeing fluctuations in the day is quite normal in this market, but it is still a good thing to be cautious.

The demand and supply balance have nothing to do with the fluctuation, it's natural law that there'll always some kind of difference in amount of demand and supply but however the factor that could make bitcoin fluctuate less is the market capitalization, the bigger, the harder to manipulate, as you know, bitcoin is still vulnerable to price manipulation that could threaten bitcoin's stability, therefore bigger market capitalization is required.
