Litecoin was one of the first altcoins to appear so it was heavily inspired by the ideas behind Bitcoin. In fact, it is made to be the currency that will address the major drawbacks of Bitcoin. It is 4x faster (2.5 vs 10 minutes for releasing a block) and mining is somewhat easier.
It certainly has been over the years, even though there were short term fluctuations that are inevitable for any currency. But at the end of the day, it has always been in the top 5 cryptocurrencies.
It is traded on almost all reputable exchanges, so it’s very easy to get a hold of it. However with the current price at $151 only did you think it has a high probability of increasing in price drastically possibly competing with bitcoin in the future as a means of storing value??

I think have the potential yes but to replace bitcoin in the future is not, but if to compete fiercely with ethereum may be. this will be very interesting, if you choose bitcoin investment or litecoin you should choose litecoin because the price is still cheap.

Investing in litecoins is going to give you more income than bitcoin now because we are not going to see bitcoin double in price easyly than litecoin. You can also get more quantities in litecoin with little dollars than bitcoin and both of are healthy. If you have good capital it is better for you to invest into both coins as you will benefit from them in future.

Litecoin will provide higher percentage gains over Bitcoin due to its much smaller marketcap. It is a great buy at these prices that won't stay low for much more time.

It has no chance for competing with Bitcoin with any real meaning in regards to store of value. However, it does provide and act as a testnet for Bitcoin because it is essentially the same. I think Litecoin won't grow in isolation, it has been playing its role of Silver to Bitcoin Gold which I think will remain thesame unless the team have a new roadmap to detach itself from Bitcoin, which will be a difficult thing for the team to implement.

I love Litecoin and it was in fact my very first alt (unless you count Dogecoin, which I actually received as a prize) that I owned, and I grew to like it more and more especially last year when they were the first to do Segwit and pave the way for Bitcoin.

I would not say that faster blocks and confirmations are a good distinction though, since most alts anyway have the same "advantage" but yes it is the true alternative of a payment currency. You cannot go wrong with Litecoin in this regard.

I am buying a lot of LTC. Personally i won't buy any additional LTC at price lower 150 next time.... three weeks ago i had bought at price 165, then immediately down to 145. Suppose it has potential to reach 200. But buying at 150 or ever lower is quite safer.

I think that in recent years the crypto currency itself and the state of things on the market have shown themselves sufficiently well. I think that the popularity of the crypto currency will be restored and this very positive will affect the pricing of very rating coins.

Currently we are in a fragile point. Bitcoin is trying to break resistance around $9.800 but keeps failing. It is very important for alt coins including litecoin. Invest on both coin because BTC and LTC have the potential to go higher this year, you don't need to choose because their technology are both good. Just wait for more months or years before the price to finally go up, but I'm sure its worth it.

i really don't think we should invest our money in Litecoin, because Litecoin has been born for many years but still don't have any clear achievement, its product is too weak to be compared with other altcoins, few months ago, VISA and Mastercard has rejected Litecoin, so in this moment, it would be better if you invest in Bitcoin instead.

I think the best way is just to create portfolio from several big cryptocurrencies. Well its currently trading at about 83$ and the charts look like shit. A drop to about 30-40$ to me seems pretty inevitable at this point. An important point to remeber is that during the last bear cycle it had dropped from about 50$ to 2$ in the space of a few days. Obviously things are not the same anymore but the whole this time its different theory has been clearly disproven given the state of the current decline in crypto prices. Its very important to respect patterns. I would also suggest you look at he historical prices of LTC on a btc price basis. You would find that even at the December top it's btc value was still lower than what it was during the 2014 bull run. Of course now the btc/ltc price ratio is significantly worse off.

I think it is usual that staying between two options which litecoin and bitcoin. For me, both are good and promising coins. If I had enough capital, I would make investment both.

There are a few things that bother me about Litecoin. For one thing the creator of it apparently sold all of his stake in Litecoin which to me is a huge negative.

Secondly, I have owned Litecoin in the past and I have always been disappointed because it always lagged behind other top cryptocurrencies in its growth. It used to be the clear number 2 coin behind Bitcoin, but it keeps getting passed by other projects.

In the short run, I think there are a lot of good things going for cryptos right now, and the bleeding should stop and the market should rebound to more of a bullish uptrend. In the long-run I think litecoin will be worth some thousands of dollars, and I personally have a sell goal for all of my litecoin of around $2,500 a coin, and until then I am HODLing strong.
