It doesn't work like that. You can transfer even 5000 Bitcoin with the same 190 satoshi, really.
The transaction fee goes per byte. It all depends on how big the transaction is in memory. And that depends on how many inputs are spent (from how many transactions that money comes) and in how many places you send out.

You realized it just now? I have been using very low fee for last few transactions and the confirmation speed was amazing compared to previous fee and time. The average fee i have using is around 25 sat/b. The fee did go high momentarily when the price of bitcoin spiked, but looks like its normal right now. I think you know that the transactions fees don't depend on the corresponding value in dollars. (you can send 500$ and 5000$ using the same fees)

These timings will only get better in future with the launch of lightning network. The prices depend on the wallet you're using. For example MEW hardly charges anything for transfers while some exchanges charge up to 0.001 per transaction.

The transaction fees have improved tremendously in favour of all investors and traders. Its just amazing to send 5000btc with a transaction as a low as 190 sat. Besides transaction speed is also commendable; I think its a step in the right direction for all bitcoiners

Its good that its happening this way and yours a even a little expensive because in my own case, I also transferred an amount close to your range at about 8 cents and before I remembered to check back, it already had 1 confirmation which didn't take too long to complete the process. When we see situations like this and we are happy we should not forget the trying times when transaction fees are so high to have swallowed the amount intended to transfer with unending waiting time. We should not be shy to appreciate those who made it possible because without them coming to offer solution by various development among which include SegWit, LN etc, we would have been signing a different song and whinning about how bitcoin is the worst of all crypto currency.

It's been like that since early this year specially when bitcoin price nose dive and if you are going to used Segwit, the transaction fee could be way more cheaper and faster. Also the network spam has stopped and as far as I know, trading exchanges are also moving to Segwit and batching their transactions that's why the network is not that clogged. Well that is a fair transactions fees compare to what we use to have in late 2017 and early 2018, what I have noticed in the bitcoin network is that whenever the Price rise above $10000 the transactions fees will also go high but when the Price is below $10,000 the fee will be friendly and normal.

Actually it's always not working in everywhere because it's fully depend on you want to make transaction in which exchange or wallet.As a example i have my personal experience one day when i try to deposit 500$+ in bittrex exchange than i see 26$ fee is showing in coinbase.

I really don't understand what you are saying here? Ever since the market went into a bear market, transactions fees decrease as well, maybe its because more bitcoin users are Segwit or trading exchanges are batching withdrawals now.

So I don't know what's upsetting you right now as the mempool is not clogged and you can withdraw anytime and its very quick. Maybe you are complaining about the trading fee that this exchanges.  The trading fees usually range between 0.1% to 0.25%, but it can be up to 1% of the trading amount. So better read their TOS so you will understand and not whine about it.

I am shocked about this, i did not expected that transaction fee is too low for that amount. I think the main reason for that is the website or exchange you are using. There exchange sites that are new so they use low transaction fee as move to attract uses. Some exchange really cost a lot now.

Actually the other day I have read in some other thread that there was a 300M USD transaction and that guy paid 4 cents in fees if I am not mistaken. That would make 10^-8 of a percent :)

It is great that BTC offers such great opportunities for people. Today people can spend a lot of money paying for the transaction fee using banking system but now we have a great option .

I think I will reconsider my decision and plan to trade maybe twice a week now. good news! I am afraid to trade my coins in the short term because I am afraid I will only get losses due to transaction costs.

Normally transactions are very cheap, only by the time when there are too many spammers in the chain made the fees so high. There's a transaction for about 4 cents fee for a total of $300M transfer.

It is really amazing that the interest applying in the transaction is not that big as I expected. Maybe it will be different based on the wallet you were using to transfer or send your BTC. At present the number is low, in Dec 2017 it was as high as 200k and it was driving the fees to levels such as 100USD fee per transaction (regular size)

There are a lot of factors which determine the cost and the speed of transaction. Basically, all deals are processed and verified by miners. They may choose which transaction to confirm at first. Obviously, they choose ones with higher fees, because they earn on them. When the network load is low, users can send/receive money at a low cost and with high speed. But it is temporary and depends on the number of transactions and users. Potential high loads will bring us back to insane fees and slow processing. However, there is Lightning Network which should be launched soon to make Bitcoin transactions really fast and cheap. That could be achieved because transfers would not be confirmed by miners and would be based on smart contracts. I’m waiting for this solution. What do you think about it?

Yes bitcoin transaction amounts have improved over the time and now traders can send or receive bitcoins by paying very small  transaction fees. This is a one step forward towards the bitcoin adoption and I think the speed of transactions would be faster than now with the introduction of lightning network. The development of bitcoin from Legacy to Segwit does really improve the efficiency of transactions but it doesn't mean that all of the transactions will be this good, it also depends on how you manage your wallet address. In my experience, I noticed that when I used many wallet addresses from the same seed, it cost more transaction fees. Also, network congestion does also affect the fees, so make sure that we are transferring funds in time that we think that many will not choose.

Did you miss anything here? Was it like 65 cents for transacting 0.017BTC or something? Anyway, after the time you mentioned, transaction fees skyrocketed and then slowly coming down. I checked last week it was around 20 sat per byte but right now it is 35 sat per byte; it keeps fluctuating. Still, it's no longer something new. It happens like almost all the time.

There are times when you will be making transactions and once you send it the money will be sent and confirmed within a very short time. I make use of Blockchain wallet, when making a transaction it's usually the regular fee option that I go for and when I click on it, it shows that the transaction will take around one hour. But there are times I will send and the transaction will deliver almost at the same time. So, it's based on the network being less busy. When there are too many transactions then you will have to pay more.

I hope that's the same as you. However, the cost of a bitcoin transaction depends on the exchange you are using. Not all exchanges have transaction fees; Which is more and which is less. The transaction fees of some exchanges are so high that it is really painful for us.

I was a little surprised because I saw the time of this thread and the current transaction fee. seen feenya currently still the same between 25 - 35 sat bytes and depends on the number of input in each transaction. And for some wallet providers also set a standard amount for their own fees and that sometimes varies by wallet provider. The point is that bitcoin transaction fees are still expensive, especially for fees that use wallet exchangers.

That was really a great news although it was quite sometime when this thread have been started, I hope that the price transaction for Bitcoin is somehow cheap and the transaction will be seamlessly fast to be confirmed. But Bitcoin transaction price do really depend on the exchanger you will be using for they have their own set price for every transaction so maybe someone would do comparison that he have never experienced doing transaction at low price. More reasons why we should carefully select our exchange we love to trade our bitcoin or even trade our altcoins. Well, that's great. But perhaps you are using a wallet and exchange that uses a lightning network that is why it has got low transactional fees yet even transfer faster. You should take this opportunity to process your transaction that could save you a lot of fees. Fees were not that high honestly, it might increase due to heavy traffics on transactions for a while but sooner or later this will go back at a cheap price again. Lightning networks are more likely the solutions for high fees and low speed that is why it is recommended to use when there's heavy traffic on the network.
