Coin that I hold there are several types, all coins are result from bounty campaign, namely monetha (MTH), spectre.ai (SXDT and SXUT), STK Token and titanium bar (TBAR).

Let me notice that there are not any POS coins in your list, but it could give you additional income. 5 coins is too little amount for your portfolio. You still need to add more positions for better diversification.

For me, bitcoin, ethereum and neo are the most fundamental coins for holding. In addition to these, I think waves, iota and stellar might be good choices.

Nope, more than 5 coins that I want to hold, first is Bitcoin that the most popular coin and good for investment. Second is Ethereum it have a great potential and second to bitcoin. And the other is litecoin, neo, ripple, bitcoincash, iota, and Eos.

Hold only 5 coins seems too risky, I divide my money in more than 25 coins and tokens and I'm glad my effective strategy for example is NEO, Waves, Bitcoin cash, EOS, PPT and so on.

I would recommend you to hold your coins for a longer time, because you can make higher profits if you hold for a longer time. But you always have to take some profits to secure your investment.

I can only agree with you about BTC and ETH. Especially embarrassing the last two coins, which you mentioned are very doubtful. The top 20 coins from coinmarketcap are what you need to keep.

The only 2 coins that I agree upon is BTC and ETH and the rest I don't like to hold it long. Maybe I will purchase them to test how it goes, but to hold long term? I doubt it will give me the returns in the future.


25 coins? that a big portfolio you got there. But yeah, all the mention coins are really good at holding. Just like BCH last few days way really a good day for it because of the huge pump that happened.

I am only holding bitcoin and ethereum currently and I only know few things about the remaining one.  I have been holding more of tokens recently and I think there are more profitable than any other coins at the moment especially if you buy them during the first lunch at etherdelta or any tokens exchange. I see bitcoin as the most save cryptocurrencies and I have think that hold it up to 90% on your holding should be the right things to do.

How about Bitcoin it has the biggest potential of all you know, and I believe in the saying the more the better, so why not hold also the top 50 coins in every popular exchange surely they gain give you something for holding them for almost half a year , you know.

for me i only got 2 altcoins in my investments, omisego and appcoin, this are a sleeping giants, and ofcourse btc and eth as well.

I just hold the bitcoin and ethereum .. I think both will have a good future and also will be very valuable in the future. bitcoin is the first digital currency and ethereum also has a very fast blockchain to make transactions. as long as the coin is still useful and has a good function I think the coins will be very good.

I until that keep only 1 at face value. not very me until that strongly interested in all of this. While there is an opportunity to raise money, it is necessary to use.

Zrx, btc and wan are good choices but I would not buy man, I can say that not every coin is good for hodling though project is good so I don't think man is good for hodling.

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

2. Ethereum : first smart contract coin and the best reason is eth will possibly going to proof of stake.

 MAN and WAN are not unknown coins tho, neither is ZRX, if they are to you then maybe you should widen your horizon past top 10 market caps (ZRX is 31st, WAN 34th, MAN just out of the top 100 for now but a hugely ambitious project that soon enough should be high in there).

Also I'm not saying you should only hold 5 coins, just that if you only held these you'd probably do well. So tbh a pretty pointless thread (not unlike 99% of other topics here) but its clickbaityness has made it my second most popular topic or something so i guess i should post like this from now on :P

Well, 5 seems good enough for you to be focused about monitoring its price. Everything has different plan and if you can't afford to hold more than five then it's still okay. Some coins are now not so good when it comes to the improvement of its price.

but I think portfolio with five coins is normal. I have LTC, BTC, ETH, Ripple, iota. The most important thing is there are long term coins in portfolio. If there are 5 risky coins, like verge or Tron and bitcoin cash, you might get nervous with their fluctuation.

My top1 is bitcoin because of it's structure, popularity and decentralization, it's first cryptocurrency which become popular and there is a reason behind it.
Next one would be ether, this is the greatest altcoin ever made because of it's smart contracts and etc, it's very unique and developed.
3rd - litecoin because it's just alt bitcoin.
4th would be bitcoin cash. Why? Because bitmain is behind this project and almost everything they do has great success.
5th - let's make it a secret for a while.

All of the crypto you listed, only BTC and ETH deserve long-term hold. I add 3 more potential coins that are XRP, EOS, and ADA, if you hold 5 cryptos until the end of the year, then you will probably be surprised by its exchange rate increase. The coins that you can hold is depend to you effort to study and knoelw every coin. For me Eth, btc, utrust, nem and man can be a good option simply because I study there technology and it proves me that it is worth holding for.

Perfect long-term investment advice. I could think of some coins to add (two of my favourites are SYS, WAVES and maybe the rather controversial XRP) but with the above, I am sure you have a solid portfolio.

I have the same altcoin in my bag except for MAN, there is too many cryptos to FOMO at the moment, let's wait for the full altcoins recovery i think most will spike during the bull run.

We both have our own choices. I think 5 picks are too low on a very promising young market like this. But if I only have to pick 5 coins in the market right now then it would be;
1. Ethereum - I know there are also lots of haters on Eth but this is a giant company already with huge connections and partnerships.
2. Litecoin - Because I think an ideal digital money should be fast and cheap.
3. Bitcoin - I cannot think of some other coins that can easily replace the father of blockchain and decentralization.  
4. Axpire - Surrounded with a great well experienced and connected team. This is a very undervalued coin that have around 100x potential.
5. Deep Onion - Got lots of it. Very good community behind it. Another undervalued coin that have huge profit potential even short term.

Ethereum that you have mentioned on the top of your list is the slowest progress makes here. Yes MAN and WAN are unpopular coin and even most people have never heard of it. the determinant of a successful coin is how popular the coin is. I think that the more popular a coin the more comfortable and profitable it can be. While the unpopular coin will be difficult to develop and usually if there is a bad news then the coin price will decrease drastically. investing in an unpopular coin will have enormous risks, so we must take the decision and be ready to accept any risks that may be incurred.

I think with the increasingly widespread crypto market then choosing a coin that is in the top 10 will give us comfort in investing. The risk of losses will be quite small compared to other coins that are beyond the top 10.

Yes MAN is not yet well known but I would not underestimate it, the guys behind that project are very capable, it might be long shot but you can buy a 3rd gen AI powered blockchain for a dollar currently.

To be honest I do not agree to buy altcoins in this period of time . We all traders should focus on the bitcoin . If bitcoin goes up all cryptos go up . So we need first time to pump the bitcoin and after we pumped it btc will pump the alts

What I don't understand is what criteria you use to arrive at this list, I know for sure any wise investor would add BTC and Ethereum to their portfolio. At the moment I think marketcapes are low but they will make good money.

Critieria is that they are relatively "safe" (apart from MAN, the moonshot of these 5), while still having some (possibly a lot) room to run. I pick Wanchain over NEO for that reason. I view the NEO train as missed. Ofc you can maybe make a 5x or something on it from here, but WAN can run more if alt market turns bull.

I'm not advocating having only 5 coins in your portfolio, but i do think it's wise to limit your long-term holds to something around that number and that these 5 would probably give you more gains than having only top 10 marketcap coins for that.

ADA - they have the best idea backed by scientist and scientific researches. The only negative side is that after few years before they can implement their plans.

I agree with the first 2 coins on your list OP, however the the rest of the three coins on your list are not really on my priority. I'd rather choose XEM, TRON and SC though as my top 5 coins to be kept on hold.

If you only holding you can choose more because observation this do not need a lot of time so it will be better option. Anyway your picks are good and have big potencial so it will be still good profit

If I was selected I would choose to keep about 10 coins but the top was still bitcoin and eth and some other coin wanted to keep it and continue to wait for more attractive interest rates.

Not only these, are appearing several currencies there in the market with real power and very high valuation power. I could quote several here for you but I'll say 2. (HTML and MNX) one and old in the market but now that the coin is gaining body and attaching to projects. The other (MNX) is a strong competitor to DASH.

I would go with BTC and ETH from the top listed coins as profits are confirmed investing in the top listed coins. I would suggest you to invest in ICO tokens which are of best projects like Surety.AI, MB8 Coin and P. olicyPal. These projects are best ones which promises their investors with good turn over at the exchange release. You can even select coins with less than $10 where you can invest more for long term. You can obviously trust in these coins and invest. Buy now as the coins' rates are very low.  

BTC and ETH are favorites of every person and should always be in your portfolio because it can help you to balance it when you are having new ICO tokens as well. As those tokens may not rise that much but when btc rises it has a good bull run so you can still make money from it.

There are so many good coins now available in the market. According to me I would prefer some coins to hold. These coins are good for long term now the price of all coins are very cheap. Just invest in these coins and wait with patience. Once the price will increase you can gain more income.

You're right in this case aziernest. IMO Neo's the best coin after Ethereum which will be a tough competitor for Ethereum in the future.

These are going to be my personal choices: Bitcoin, Ethereum, EOS, Komodo and Monero! I think these coins are mostly unbeatable and some of them are risky and very good in full potential so. I like em.

I agree with you, Matrix is a very promising project. However I think that to this list should add Gladius and Red Pulse.

these five coins have a development that is so increased and has a high level of enthusiasts. so to have a coin it will be very profitable and provide more benefits in the future. This ability makes my benchmark to have the fifth in the long run.

For me, Bitcoins and ETH are potential coins to hold for long term. And Bitcoins and ETH already in my bag. XRP, EOS and ADA are also good.

In fact, I will say so that how many people have so many opinions about which coins to transfer their capital. Take 100 people give them a choice of 10 coins from the list of coinmarketcap and I assure you that with a probability of 99% you will not find a single match.
I do not argue with you coins that you have specified - just excellent I invest in WAN, MAN and I hope to get a solid income from them, but apart from them there are at least 2 dozen tokens that also deserve the attention of investors. Time will come-the market will come to life and we will all be glad to new times of crypto-currencies!

The only coin you need to hold is bitcoin everything else should be coins that you are willing to invest for some time but as soon as you think the price is going down you get back to the safe haven that is bitcoin, I only invest in altcoins because they have the chance to outpace bitcoin and nothing more.

Im not too sure about your other altcoins but I do have bitcoin and ethereum because I do hold them for long term. My other altcoin choices would have to be Siacoin, XEM and NEO.

In my opinion, ethereum and bitcoin are the coins which have great potential for the future. And also, if you have enough capital, you might consider about NEO and IOTA.

The quest is actually for the money or profits no mater where do you invest. I would love to go with the top five crypto in the market that have Bitcoin, ETH, Bitcoin cash and Litecoin. These have been giving huge returns to its investors and this is what keeps you safe in the market as well because of low risk attached to the crypto. There are other advantages it offers besides the profit which save good money as well.

5 huh? I only keep 3 coins which I prefer to hodl due to the suitable long-term investment; BTC, ETH, NEO. Besides that, I am very sure the coins that I choose, have a bright future, and very profitable that's will give me a huge of profit.

These coins repeat the movement of bitcoin and when it falls, they fall faster! What's the point of holding all these coins if you can just hold bitcoin? When there is a reversal, then buy these coins!

Yes, you are right the above-mentioned coins has huge potential in the market, right now they are very low in the market because the Bitcoin price decreased a lot. So holding them give good profits in the long terms.

The more coins that you hold the more profit that you get. Holding few coins is not good because if all coins you hold dump you lose big unless you have a lot of different altcoin that support you incase of emergency like dumping price to help you to recover.

You're right. But 5 coins are enough for me. Because if too many hodling coins, it will be difficult to manage the portfolio and possibility cause the mistake which incurs losses during trading.

That is my suggestion for 2018 holding, hold that coins because they have better future and you have assurance for that. They have Future that we ca have our assurance.

I have also mentioned that Siacoin has not lost as much as the other altcoins. NEO also seems to be a very good crypto. TRON, Cardano, and IOTA are good.

Only 2 top coins are in my portfolio, BTC and ETH and the rest are altcoins and tokens, yes i believe that holding coins may greatly benefits us in the long run, and the process of earning a bigger profits might take some time, especially i am a long term investor. Who knows, i could get millions of money by holding coins., and the rest of the altcoins i traded in the exchanges. I dont know, MAN and WAN, never heard it now, id like to take my time to study on the coins youve mentioned., maybe it has future too.

your list is really good and strong. but you can make good profit with them.
if you ask me top 5 coins to hold i would choose those three:

NEO
BNB
BTC - (not for holding forever but for buying more altcoins if dump continues.)

I do not agree with you. Some are good, yes. But what is MAN doing? This list is missing NEO, TEZOS, VIA. I can say success on the line. It may not be very profitable.

NEO has to be the pick of their coin I think for coming years. XRP was the coin till 2017 but this year it has miserably fallen and just not even ready to rise and does not look too much attractive as well among the investors. IOTA is also another which could be bought for mid term basis.

look attractive during the campaign, after sales reach hardcap then the coins are distributed then the price will be destroyed below the price of ICO.
what to expect, unless you bounty hunter do instant sell you get everything beyond the investor.
