bitcoin is furthest along to general acceptance but it already has quite a steep price to get in.
if you think, as i do, that ltc will have a role next to BTC or will even overtake it based on tech go for ltc!

I would advice you to buy bitcoins. If you want to invest in alternative coins later on you should do your own research.  :)

You are very correct, Bitcoin to litecoin is not comparable,so the wise investment is to buy bitcoin,bitcoin is the father of all cryptocurrency,therefore I believe in bitcoin far more to litecoin,either in value and market price.

The rise potential of LTC is several times higher than BTC. But current levels of LTC price is far from the bottom.
Now the better startegy to buy BTC and wait till LTC will found the bottom and buy it for BTC

When you have low investment also that using of Bitcoin will be the profitable way because the LTC will not be developing like before so the choosing of investment will be more important for the development of your money so my opinion is bitcoin investment is better than this.

Absolutely Bitcoin. For me, between the BTC and LTC is better for purchasing the Bitcoin, as the most trusted cryptocurrency at all. We can see the value of BTC so far is very adorable. Even it still keep decreasing, we can really hope that it will have the good increase in some months later or years later.

Litecoin might be good and have it's own usecase but i really don't know much about it. In as much as it is good, i think i would advice you buy bitcoin,this is generally accepted or have a wide acceptance level. So buy bitcoin.

With such amount, i would rather invest in a good altcoin, than invest in bicoin now and not get my maximum profit. Had it been you have x10 of that amount, then investing in btc will be much better.

if it were me then I would use it to buy bitcoin rather than litecoin, besides because of its enormous potential, the price of bitcoin is also at its lowest point, it can be very profitable if bitcoin can return to high prices unlike litecoin, which although you can get more coins but it won't be so profitable even when it returns to the highest point

Both have good development, for now, you might be able to buy Litecoin, because the value is more affordable and has good development. To buy BTC is also good and will have a good increase too.

Of the 5 coins, I know only 3 coins, namely Bitcoin, Litecoin and Stable coin, monitor the development of the coin quite well and have a slow movement but still have a strong community. The two coins (Quarkcoin and world coin), I don't have a view that can produce or benefit, so it would be better to trade short.

I agree with you who suggest buying Bitcoin which is clearly the quality and potential in the market and dubbed the king of Cryptocurrency. Litecoin is indeed a pretty good coin but it is still not good enough with the current market conditions that are increasing. everyone also hopes that Bitcoin and Altcoin skyrocket like what happened.

Personally, I prefer to keep different coins in my investment portfolio, because I do not see the point to bother only on one particular project. That is why if this choice is put in front of me, I would invest 70% in Bitcoin and the remaining 30% would invest Litecoin. These two assets are included in the top coins, and therefore the chances of profit are also available for these projects.

I think you can invest in both coins. It's just that you have to distinguish the portions. Bitcoin portion is bigger than litecoin portion. Maybe with a ratio of 65: 35. because bitcoin coins are more dominant and more popular than litecoin.

I think what you expect is very important. Just buy BTC and wait if only Bitcoin's value increase will be enough in the long run. But if your goal is to increase the number of Bitcoins, then you should look at the altcoins. I think LTC is not a good choice.

It is important to realize that Litecoin is actually similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Litecoin did not take the strides that some of the other coins did. It has always stayed as the test platform for bitcoin for years. When something needs to be changed on bitcoin to improve it first we try it on litecoin and check if works and if it works we try it on bitcoin as well.

Basically, if you want to buy bitcoin or altcoin is a different subject and we can discuss it forever and I always supported the altcoin in that discussion because I know when the markets go down bitcoin goes down less and altcoins go down more but when the markets are rising altcoins are going higher than bitcoin goes up. However, when it comes to litecoin I do not feel the same way about it, I feel like litecoin is making the same increases and decreases hence if you are going with litecoin you might as well go with bitcoin.

When it comes to movable in the market I would rather choose Bitcoin than Litecoin(LTC), it has a big tendency that you can able to earn lot compare to LTC. But if I were you why don't you try to buy other coins out there that is much better than altcoins like Ethereum, NEm, or dent as well are much more good to buy now.

I would take both of them. They are one of the oldest coins on this market and as far as I know Litecoin is doing a rebranding at the moment and it would push the price for sure. BTC is the most stable coin on the market, so why not to get both  ;)

In my opinion you have to buy at least 50% bitcoin because bitcoin have a huge market cap & potential. Remaining 50% you can use to buy litecoin along with any other coin from top ten coins.

Well at the moment I would not invest now about 50% in bitcoin , I would at the moment take bitcoin 10 percent , as there is a very big chance that the price of bitcoin may be below 1800, I think it is better to buy the top altcoins at the moment!

I always like Bitcoin. Cause Bitcoin is the core of this whole market. And if I have to spend my money I I don't want to take that much risk then I will go for Bitcoin always. Your deposit is too small. I think it would be better to buy litecoin. It's much easier to buy one coin and hold it. The rest you can put in some altcoins too. You can invest in every coin from top of cmc.

150 dollars is a very small amount and so I think that given the fact that the market is bearish and continues to fall, it makes no sense for you to invest in cryptocurrencies. Go back to the beginning of the second quarter, as by that time the market will have to completely fall.

Bitcoin is still better than Litecoin. This is what on my mind laways. We know that Litecoin is also a very promising coin with its high trust. I really dont trust litecoin since then and still today, what im trying to hold and invest is bitcoin, because its very cheap and i want to hold more of it until the price of it strikes high, its gonna be soon i believed, and also bitcoin is still and will always be the master of all altcoins.

Bitcoin is the most dominated crypto currency and better to buy 60% of your portfolio and 40% for ltc so that if both coins goes up you have both and much better to buy more than 1 coins to diversify your porrfolio.

i would consider 100% bitcoin and no litecoin because LTC only follows bitcoin and not much else so it wound't be a "portfolio" if you bought something like LTC alongside your bitcoins.
on the other hand LTC had some good pumps in the past and that makes it a good short term investment for traders though.

Lol, guys ;D This is a thread from 2013, but it was popped up and nobody checked the first post - only thread's name. It looks very silly IMO. But I should admit that even today it's a relevant question. But let's calculate the best case ROI for BTC and LTC if investments were made in 8 Dec 2013.

BTC price was around $750, LTC - $25. The next ATH for BTC was at $19600, for LTC - $360.
So ROI for BTC is (19600-750)/750=2513%, for LTC - (360-25)/25=1340%.
Surprise! BTC ROI is almost twice more than LTC.

But we should admit that it wasn't a bottom, actually it was almost ATH back then. The real best case ROI for BTC investment made at the previous bear cycle bottom ($160) would be twice less than same LTC ROI.

Conclusion.
The entry and exit points are extremely important.

with 150 $ you will get around 5ltc, if you can hold the ltc coin until the price rises, then you will be more fortunate to buy ltc with a note that the btc price also rises, because the price of ltc is still converted to the price of btc.
if I have that kind of money, I prefer to buy dogecoin, I can profit quickly, not too long to hold back, the more coins I get

For a huge market value and market cap, you can buy bitcoin on the other hand, for a good and  faster transaction speed, buy litecoin, but the essence of choosing which one to support is their fundamental analysis so please read news first.

I like Bitcoin much more than Litecoin. It is a great coin, but it seems that investors do not actively invest in LTC and still prefer Bitcoin as the major crypto investment. The market dominance shows it all.

Good to see that you provided this information, it only showed that bitcoin far back is still good for investment, tracing the history and assessing the potential comeback bitcoin will bring much higher appraisal, considering the facts that there's also a lots of new coins which been introduce, most
of them offers innovations and more advance in terms of usage.

It seems to me that today it is still better to continue to buy BTC for any amounts that you can still afford today. so I think it makes sense to do this every day and not think about failure.

if you only have $150, you better buy ltc. I've done it before. with a little capital, buying BTC is very unprofitable. because only get a little profit if you buy BTC. while for now, the BTC price is still no sign of rising. but if you have a lot of capital. it's better to buy btc than ltc.

With $ 150 I think you should not buy Bitcoin or Litecoin, the price fluctuation of Bitcoin is very small. Instead you can choose some cheap coins in the market. Which can bring you many risks but also gives you a lot of profits.

my advice to you is better to do deep reasearch about litecoin, if i were you better to invest your money in bitcoin because bitcoin price is cheap right now, and bitcoin will increase anytime right now, better to do a wise decision.

If i were you i would buy both since Litecoin's price and volume in the market is high so profiting with litecoin is high also. But when it comes to bitcoin, man we all know the probability of bitcoin increasing its value this year is high and so its volatility is still high as of the moment it is the highest valued coin in the market, no wonder bitcoin is being compared to a lot of coins.

That depends on you cause the market has the possibility of a bullish divergence or it could break a huge support if this support doesn't hold then the market will go down even further but there are signs of a bullish reversal. I agree, all of them are good and have good potentials. It depends on you whether you are a risk taker or not. We can always buy both coins at the same time also depend on how much budget do we have if we can afford to buy 2 coins at the same time. But we can also partial our capital or investment for that 2 coins.

There is nothing special about litecoin to invest in it at this stage, if you remember even the creator Charlie Lee dumped all his coins and i am not sure how the development is going on at this time, i would suggest you invest small bits in bitcoin whenever you have and hold for a long time and you will end up in profit or find other interesting project with small valuation which has the potential to grow once the market recovers, i would not advice to invest in LTC and that is my opinion. ;)

People are buying Litecoin in terms of its volatility in the trading platforms, not necessarily to be comparable to the characteristic of bitcoin which is highly good. Well, buy bitcoin, trade litecoin.

Well to me I think BTC is BTC and LTC is LTC that is definitely BTC is the best cryptocurrency and most importantly its the most established one. LTC is also established one but not as like the BTC. I like BTC more than any other cryptocurrency. Its more preferable.

I think Btc or Ltc have good potential for the long term, but I prefer btc because Bitcoin already has a lot of trust from investors and has a better chance.

I suggest you invest your money in litecoin. At the moment, litecoin looks very good and promising. But this can not be said about bitcoin. But I don't think litecoin is the future top currency. It will give way to either ETH or XRP.

If I have to choose I will go definetely on BITCOIN... It's a bad period for all coins and no one can predict if most of coin will survive in next 3 year but BITCOIN has for sure more probability to survive than others because it has a big dominance in market.

None of them i guess. I prefer ETH or EOS in long-term investment. But you should focus on altcoins like quark, nem, npxs, xov etc. I never recommend BTC or LTC.
