bitcoin is furthest along to general acceptance but it already has quite a steep price to get in.
if you think, as i do, that ltc will have a role next to BTC or will even overtake it based on tech go for ltc!

Generally: Don't base your investment options on on what people tell you here.

I would advice you to buy bitcoins. If you want to invest in alternative coins later on you should do your own research.  Smiley

Thanks for your advice mate, I'm really just new to it, I'm looking round seeing what is best and then I will decide where to invest your money, but don't worry I will have done my research before I invest any money.

If you feel like you want to do some speculation and even some day trading go for litecoin.
If you are in for the long run go for bitcoin.

10% bitcoin
40% LTC
25% quark
10% wdc
15% cgb

Also namecoin and PPC could well be worth a punt. DCG seems undervalued but where did the dev go?

Well good luck then but keep in mind that so far traditional trading strategies are hardly working for bitcoin.

Look at this poll to get a good sense of where the alt community is headed.
