How does advertisements on blockchain work and how does it work to target everyone using the blockchain? I don't think it's possible to target an audience on the blockchain without having a platform first isn't it

This is from our whitepaper:

In September 2015, Kochava Inc. created a new targeting platform for mobile audiences
called the Kochava Collective. The basis of the Kochava Collective was to provide a unified
audience graph that would enable advertisers to query and target audiences with device level
precision for their advertising campaigns. Based on this targeting, the centralized
system would enable distributed activation in a de-duplicated way to best address (i.e., serve
ads to) the audiences identified through the targeting process...

While the Kochava Collective has been built as a centralized system to date, it is intended to
be equipped to enrich the data introduced by the publisher inputs on the XCHNG distributed
system upon launch of XCHNG.

For those that are new to the discussion, XCHNG is the open blockchain framework for digital advertising that Kochava has built over the past few years. XCHNG is built as a result of listening to the macro ecosystem. The conclusions which were found was that their exists a need for a unified, decentralized platform that:

1. Is open (no participant should have to license XCHNG from Kochava)

2. Incorporates key marketplace protocols for buying, selling, and settling contracts related to media (including site-directed buys or open auctions)

3. Incorporates a unified ledger architecture that supports record-level persistence of events (impressions, clicks, etc.) and is capable of consensus at a Transaction Per Second (TPS) rate in the millions — a prerequisite for digital advertising

4. Is void of any extra transaction fees outside of operating costs for the blockchain network as an incentive for decentralized nodes on the network

This space is ripe for automation disruption. It really is a fantastic use case for SmartContracts. Great that someone that is already operating in the space is developing a solution that plays directly off their use case.

Transparent and efficient media buying that evens the playing field and benefits participants on both sides is a promising concept and a much needed solution.

Example:
Buyer wants to pay in USD and specifies a third-party payment provider as well as a third-party measurement provider in the smart contract. Once the related ads have been served and verified by the measurement provider according to the agreed-upon terms, the payment provider facilitates receipt of ACH payment by the buyer, the exchange of USD to XCHNG Token, and payment in token to the seller’s wallet.
