Extend the X all the way to the end of the circle.  Form two arrows going up and down (similar to X in malcom x).  Make the dot on i a circle.

Nice, very nice.  One, minor change,  the shadowing inside the red lettering.   Can you follow the original?  In short, shadowing like the light comes from the top?   Let me post in on the IXCoin thread for final approval.

You two did an amazing job on the last IXC logo design.

What we need now is a 1 letter logo for IXC which can be used as the actual currency symbol.

I think it might be better with a thicker character, and a shorter 'i' so the cross is level at the top.  That was how I visualized it.  It might be a good idea to have a couple of different styles to compare.

The color scheme is an interesting issue, red on black emphasizes the 'i-then-X" aspect, a single color has a nice appearance though.

I was thinking the same thing but also maybe slant it to the left a little to see now that looks, maybe a 33 degree slant.

I prefer the red over the black over all one solid color to give it a more clear view that it's actually 2 letters:  iX.


And we need to add an equal sign somewhere.  Not sure where it would look good but even BTC has it and so do all the global currencies.


Edit:  I agree with the thicker character but one of the letters, should also differ in thickness from the other to further accentuate the 2 letter combination.  If that doesn't look good we could use equally tall letters.

Rob, that's an interesting concept but it's a bit complex and the iX doesn't instantly and easily stand out.  I really like the simple clean minimalist look.  And those are the types of logos which really excel right now.

That said, I would be curious to see what your design would look like if it were polished up a bit.  You never know.

But it's looking like the top choice is not the i or the X alone but rather an i forming the X, so iX combined.

Trying to picture that i and X combined but I am artistically declined.  ; )

Out of those 3 I like the look and simplicity of the bottom one, the i [that looks like a cross].

If people prefer to use an i over an X or iX then it looks pretty good to me.

Here's one of Cinnamon's designs which I missed.

I cut out the i cause I really like the X.

Try imagining this in a mirror image with the thin side on the left side but shorter and with a dot on a small i.

And maybe remove the sparkle but leave the smooth, clean apple-esque look.

The red on black IX could work, but it needs something.

Dexter's third X is viable.

Dexter's third symbol is the crossed i, I believe.

For the combo iX character idea, how about using two lines, '//', for the bar that crosses the 'i'.  That would make the character an 'i', an 'X', and an '=' combined.

Ok, I see.  But you'd have an X with two lines on one side. 

That would be an interesting way to incorporate the = sign cause I've looked how it looks putting an = sign on an X and it just doesn't look very good or natural regardless of where you put it.

The idea would be to make the '=' symbol equal to the 'i' in thickness and length.  Stylize it so the '=' makes you think of a
 single bar as well as an '='.


An example of integrating the '=' is the euro currency symbol which has the '=', replacing the middle bar of the 'E'.

That's very interesting and I think it works.  It's an i with 2 lines through it basically but it looks like an X and so iX.

Now if we can get it to shine a bit and make it look more apple-esque.  And cut that angle down to maybe 33 degrees from 45 degrees.  The slant is a bit too much I think.

Man, SuperZeus hit it with that idea and newsflesh, you nailed it with the refinement.

I like bottom one the best.  It feels like it needs something more, like maybe a difference in size or thickness, like maybe make the i a bit thicker than the =.

And slant it to the left a little, maybe 33%.

Interesting thing about this symbol. Actually a few things stand out.

But one of them is the fact we won't have to ever switch symbols like Bitcoin will if I'm right and one day IXC will have it's symbol switched to XIC.

Cause this symbol could easily read both ways.

I love these logos but we need a 1 letter currency symbol.

My point is just that continuity of style/color scheme between 'one letter logo' and "coin logo" might be desirable.  ixcoin currency symbol (BTC) aside

Bitcoin uses all different colors from what I've seen.  Officially maybe it is black but what people will see all the time. Posted on ATMs or in store windows or stamped on a debit card can and should be in color.

Yes of course, this is still open source and in the end I don't choose the best design:  The Community Does.

This is why it's important that people give their input, it really does matter.  I am not an artistic person at all, I would really like to see those who are artistic jump in and help out.

Those are cool logos Kussaka, I especially like the majority-black variant.

Something else to consider for a currency symbol is how will the basic form look in Unicode, and handwriting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Currency_Symbol

A good rule of thumb is, can the basic form be handwritten easily.

What is a waste of my time is reading your posts scattered across the board forums.

I've nothing but extreme gratitude for all of Vlad2Vlad's efforts, in particular helping me understand how IXC as a coin has value way above current prices & how it can potentially extend Bitcoin's wealth to a much needed broader cross section of humanity.  I wouldn't say this is inevitable, but it definitely has the potential.   

I'm particularly fond of accumulating it @ these levels, although my purse is thin & 100ixc would add substantially to it, I'm not a graphic artist designer.  To-date, kussaka gets my vote for logo design, personally I would like to see his/her design (see my last post on this thread) have the dot on the 'i' with a 3d hold in it's center & the shadowing removed, but my tastes are far from a professional perspective, my expertise in found at the coding level, picking wild berries and raising poultry.

In any case, those with a positive perspective on the future of IXCoin should vote to decide the outcome of this bounty, not just trolls and shills paid in fiat who's goal it is to destroy crypto currencies in general....

2nd concept

Johnny,  that's a good point, however:

A) Thomas has never said that's what IXC was meant for, so friction is just guessing.

B) Any new coin is a hard sell to the masses so it's better when things make sense and are easy to remember.

So telling people iXcoin's wallet always starts with X even though the Colin's name starts with an i and then the symbol is neither an X nor an I but rather an e, well, it gets messy.

I'm willing to go with either an I or an X - but I think we should focus on those 2 options since they make the most sense.
