Basic idea.

That's very interesting and I think it works.  It's an i with 2 lines through it basically but it looks like an X and so iX.

That's great.

Now if we can get it to shine a bit and make it look more apple-esque.  And cut that angle down to maybe 33 degrees from 45 degrees.  The slant is a bit too much I think.

That concept draft is pretty near the limit of my graphics skill and software, so I will leave it to others if they want try to style it up to make a winning version.

Man, SuperZeus hit it with that idea and newsflesh, you nailed it with the refinement.

I like bottom one the best.  It feels like it needs something more, like maybe a difference in size or thickness, like maybe make the i a bit thicker than the =.

And slant it to the left a little, maybe 33%.

Looks great?


Edit:  what about the dot on the i, should we use a circle? The contrast in shape may look good.

Interesting thing about this symbol. Actually a few things stand out.

But one of them is the fact we won't have to ever switch symbols like Bitcoin will if I'm right and one day IXC will have it's symbol switched to XIC.

Cause this symbol could easily read both ways.

Quite brilliant and forward thinking if you think about it.

I love these logos but we need a 1 letter currency symbol.

My point is just that continuity of style/color scheme between 'one letter logo' and "coin logo" might be desirable.  ixcoin currency symbol (BTC) aside

It might be an idea to try a few different versions of X to give people a few options, I think a tall 'X' could be good;

I like the flipped version better.  Maybe it's me but it doesn't look centered. 

Unless that was the intention.

What do you guys think?

I feel like it's missing something but I can't tell what.  A small tweak of some sort to make it feel just right.

Anybody feeling the same thing? 

Otherwise I really like it.  It's a very clever way to incorporate not only the i and the X but also the = sign.  I don't think I've seen a single coin doing it this way.  Very nice!

Also, isn't a currency code black? or are they multicolored? Cause multicolor doesn't always translate to black.

Bitcoin uses all different colors from what I've seen.  Officially maybe it is black but what people will see all the time. Posted on ATMs or in store windows or stamped on a debit card can and should be in color.

I agree, that color scheme looks desirable.  But I also like the clean, industrial apple-esque look of the chrome looking one.

Yes of course, this is still open source and in the end I don't choose the best design:  The Community Does.

This is why it's important that people give their input, it really does matter.  I am not an artistic person at all, I would really like to see those who are artistic jump in and help out.

Man, that looks kickass.  What a difference color schemes make.

Can you do a version with a round dot on the i (so it doesn't look so much like the do not smoke cigarette, lol)?

And also, if you could do it side by side with one tilted maybe 30 degrees to the left.
