As far as escrow goes, I do't know if zulzedd has one in mind specifically (he runs the spreadsheet, I'm just helping out), but the way most escrows work is that both parties send their coins (including any applicable tx fees) to a third person who is agreed to be trustworthy by those making the tx and/or the community as a whole.

The escrow agent will hold everything until he has received all the agreed upon funds from both parties at which point he will release the funds to both parties by sending the tx's along on their merry way.

For providing this service some escrows charge a small percentage, while others ask only that you consider giving a donation for their service.

If i understand you correctly, i can say that i wrote emails to couple of exchange sites with proposal to add GRC with description of this, definetly, innovative cryptocoin, you can do  the same ;)

I put up a sell order at a rate of 0.084 on the 18th that wasn't there anymore when I checked it yesterday.
Been scanning the revision history to find the culprit, to no avail.
Was this lost in the crossover from the sheet of the 18th to the 19th or did some kobold mischievously delete it?  ;)

is it possible ( for the future),
that you add the approximately date when a transaction has been done?
I thing that should be relatively easy.
By the way, does the amount in the sheet means, that this is the minimum of GRC to buy/sell?
In this case it for me it makes sense that there are higher buys than sells, but if not, it doesn't.

Seconded, that would be useful (especially in the future) to see how the trading value changed over time. Thanks a lot for managing so much of the trade information Zulzedd!

I thought about adding time, in this case also graph will look prettier, but problem is that not only me is editor of the sheet, if add this column i must oblige other editors of the sheet do the same, and, in my opinion, it's enough obligations for them already. I can be wrong.
Amount on the sheet is the maximum, means how many GRC/BTC user holds for sell/buy.

It may not have happened, I thought I remembered setting my price to 0.0919 because I swear I remember the lowest sell order being 0.085 and then the next lowest was 0.092 and I wanted to be just beneath the 0.092. I was apparently mistaken because I can't seem to find these edits in the history.

I got confirmation from Seppelpeter about trade.
About 4 selling lower - it's possible that part of them already sold their GRC, and part was simply offline, when ohiofarmer was ready to trade.

What's with all the people who place buy orders but never respond when you message them to sell, even when they are online and active...?

1) I contacted user "JBourne" a few days ago offering him 1,000 GRC for his price of 0.09 BTC as per his order in the order book and he was unresponsive despite being online and active. So I sent a second message informing him that I would be offering the GRC to someone else instead, he then replied and stated that would be fine... I tried to contact him again today with the same deal as per his order in the order book while he was online and active and he was again unresponsive.

2) I contacted user "hamiltino" today while he was online and active to offer him 1,000 GRC for 0.0935 BTC as per his order in the order book, he was unresponsive.

3) I contacted user "derm" today (who is usually responsive as I have many successful trades with him) who has been online and active a couple of times since I first attempted to contact him today and I offered him 1,000 GRC for 0.088 BTC as per his order in the order book but he has not responded. I have sent him a second message since he was last online and am waiting to see if he responds.

I'm curious about this too. Nice coin and we are still have only this spreadsheet. I'm monitoring twitters of couple of exchangers, and i can't see anything about GRC. But they are adding 1-3 new coins (like 42, VTC), each 1-2 days.

I think exchanges are waiting till everything is complete. they see a lot of changes happening and maybe they want to wait till everything is set in place.

That makes me wonder about what they are waiting.
Is there any difference when adding new coins alà coiney or doge or something like that?
I'm not so deep into finallysing/completing/creating a coin, but I assume that this couldn't be the reason.
I remember rob was writting to many exchanges several weeks/month ago and there was not even a response.
So for me it's simply incomprehensible.

I see, for example, that sometimes there is poll thread for vote some new coins to add at some exchanges. Me need to put gridcoin in that list and vote it!

All the other coins are just clones of the litecoin/bitcoin with different parameters. So that client has been proven over time and there is no bugs in the code. Gridcoin is radically different, there are so many changes to the code of the wallet software. If you are running an exchange, it is a big risk to be taking to run a wallet that has a lot of new stuff that has not been thoroughly tested in real world conditions. So if you think about it, it is wise for them to wait for everything to be proven reliable by the community before adding the Gridcoin client on an exchange. About a month ago there were a lot of synching issues with the client, can u imagine running this on an exchange and having these kind of problems. It becomes an absolute nightmare for the operators of the exchanges. That is why these new coin clones are quickly added because it is a cut and paste job for the operators of the exchange and they know they won't have any issues with the client. Gridcoin has to be proven reliable over a good period of time before any of the major exchanges step up and add it. This is why I think Gridcoin is taking so long to be accepted. Keep in mind the scrypt sleep function will be added now, so there are a lot of things that still need to be done for development of the client. So everyone in the community is gonna have to be very patient, this is a complicated project and it needs time. This is not just some shitty clone coin.

I must agree with you. But anyway, exchanges can add GRC and update wallet with each code modification coming from Gridcoin (user), but maybe yes - they afraid something like lose funds of user.

The more stable and less buggy the client is, the more likely it will be on an exchange. I predict Q1 2014.

My estimate once on an exchange like cryptsy would be 2x that within the first week, being conservative.

Also theirs a linux client about to be released soon, i would imagine most exchanges operate using linux servers so the release of the linux client might make it more attractive for exchanges to add gridcoin as they don't have to build/compile the code from source, as that can be a hassle.

http://C-CEX.com is preparing to add Gridcoin to their exchange. Once Gridcoin finalizes the linux client hopefully this weekend we should be good to go.
From my conversation with the Dev of C-Cex there will be a GRC/USD and GRC/BTC pair available.

This exchange has a testing period until 10th of February and there is no commission charged for any trades.

Spread is a good thing in my book!

That is not always true. I made many trades when spread was even wider and I made the most profit percent from it, in relation to the investment.
There is always wide spread at the beginning of a new trade and in static phases.
In my experience the only thing that effect negatively trading is stale market, no volume; wide spread is sometime and effect of it, but rarely the cause.
In wide spread market I just place my trade and if volume pick up and I am close enough to the sweet spot it get fulfilled.
When that happens I start doing the same faster and faster to keep (ab)using the wide spread, until the trades find balance and then the trend starts... then you use your preferred standard trading paradigm.
I also see that "others" are doing exactly the same in many markets and even here... blink blink
Anyway you maybe right in this case, since we still need a minimal volume to trade and this Google sheet is not the most widely known by the trading masses... so post your trade and spread the voice and when it pick up, you may find yourself lucky.

1 trade. yes, volume is almost zero. But this is because of Rob saying GRC PoR will be on c-cex in a week. Everyone are waiting for this. That's all.
