I've been mining for a couple of hours and my estimated shares is always around 70-100 per block - yet my balance shows 0 coins confirmed or unconfirmed.

Nope, everything fine so far, if you've mined the last round, you should have unconfirmed balance which will get confirmed and paid out as soon as the block has > 120 confirmations

I have had some mails concerning pushpool / getwork support requests for CPU mining.

I just wanted to mention that you can also CPU mine over the stratum port as the pool has variable difficulty. If your miner (minerd) does not support stratum, you can still use stratum-mining-proxy (google for that) and point your miner to the proxy, and the proxy to dogepool.net (or every other pool you like).

Ask if you have questions setting up, its really simple.

What happened with round #85? It completed after 5,695,782 shares. The data for this round seems to have been merged with round #86. Same thing happened to rounds #73 & #74.

Yes i've noticed that too, maybe a caching issue as I've implemented more caching that just while we found the last block, checking now !

Found it, the error already spread in mysql slave replication, will fix this later on as i have some spare time, the shares will catch up, already found another block without problems since then.

I would not recommend withdrawing to cryptspy directly for obvious reasons...

More strange things happening. Block 20312 just paid out only 5% of what it should have. I'm throwing 1500 hash at the pool 24/7 and that block only paid out a total of 133 DOGE. Average payout is between 2500-4000 depending of pool hashrate.

Edit. Ok, I think I understand what's going on here. On the Blocks stats page, the Amount column shows the total reward for each block that is to be split between all shareholders. Oddly these values range from 2,000 to 900,000. It's my understanding that each block is worth 500,000 so i'm interested in understanding these variances.

Unfortunately we had a few orphans, that means those blocks did not give any credit, i've redownloaded the blockchain and did some internal checks, the next block will be fine again, thats also why I've set fees to 0%.

Should I restart the miner or just leave it as it is?

Checked that, it's just a display error, shares went together with the next round, mysql was too slow updating/deleting the old round shares.

I'll message that to the source code developers, the code has to wait til old shares are delete before entering new.

The US dedicated node got already DDoSed this evening, please make sure that you have our EU nodes as backup configured and vice versa.

With cgminer thats as easy as simply giving multiple "-o" switches with appropriate flags.

Example:

./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://us.dogepool.net:2222 -u user.worker -p workerpass  -o stratum+tcp://pool.dogepool.net:4444 -u user.worker -p workerpass

only doges 1150 after more than 24 hours mining :-(

It's just an estimate of when a block SHOULD be found. It is also possible that we reach 200% before a block is found, longest round was something around 400%, but we also get rounds around 20 - 40 % of shares..

24 hours of mining in this pool and less than 200 coins. 24 hours of mining in a different pool and I get over 3000. I saw it was a 0% fee so I jumped on it and it was a huge waste of time and money for power. That's 3000 I won't be getting back.

not sure what you did wrong, I was in the pool to for 24h and got over 15.000 with my 1.4MH/s testrig as we found like 8 blocks in 24hrs

We had a small outage of the US node of approximately 2-3 minutes due to a small DDoS.

Everything is back to normal.

Will try this for 24 hours, I should get at least 95% of the coin estimated.

24 hours? with rounds of 6 hour duration you're expecting to get an accurate average with a sample size of FOUR ?

It all depends on luck, some mine for like 10 h and get lots of DOGE because the pool is very lucky in this time and other mine for 24h and get the same amount of DOGE because there are some long rounds in between.

Best is to make the decision which pool to choose on reliabilty of the pool, uptime and "fairness" ... A pool which is here since few days only might go down soon. A pool were the pool op only has 2-3 posts might also go down quick and so on..

Don't choose the smallest pool, don't take the largest.. Choose the right one in between.

Please make it possible to lock the difficulty on the workers!

I'm having BIG problems with this. The difficulty jumps from 40 to 400, up and down, up and down. When it goes to high, my accepted shares drop (WU), and when it goes to low, my rejected shares rocket up to 3-4%.

Add 256 it just works perfectly. High WU and 0,3% rejected.

Is there something I can do?

Usually the difficulty adjusts automatically to your speed, there was no problem so far which I noticed. My test workers also work flawless.

On which node do you have that problem ? US ?

I'm on stratum+tcp://pool.dogepool.net:4444, but it seems to have sorted it self out. Now stabile at 256 with one card hashing at 880, reject under 1%, so that's okay. Maybe back to reject 0,3%, haven't restarted the worker.

Wonder what happened? and crossing my fingers it doesn't happen again. Woke up this morning to see 20% reject, because the pool insisted to set diff to 44 for a card hashing at 880 :-)

I'm not sure what really happens, but difficulty 74 is not possible with dogepool.net

The Vardiff implementation only allows multiple's of two, so for example 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024.. and so on..

First, try an other node, try stratum+tcp://pool.dogepool.net:4444
If this does NOT help, try other cgminer, which version are you using atm ?

just built my first rig today, im getting 4.45 mh/s and i choosed dogepool.net, so far so good!,  i just wish we had  a little  chat  page at dogepool.net where the users could talk to each other.

I though about this, but its a perfect target for scams/ddos/abuse .. So its probably better to just discuss here in this thread or I might consider a chatroom in future if we grow further

Pre-Last Block was about a million and the next only 100.000 ..

Are you sure you're mining at dogepool.NET ? There is also a pool with a similar name and there were confusions some times.

I've just checked your account on the pool (if the username is the same) and you current hashrate is 0, you submitted 0 shares and therefore also had no payout.

Check if your miner is really connected to pool/www.dogepool.net:4444 or us.dogepool.net:2222

currently my miners are all shutdown due to a power outage, but over the weekend they were mining away, I have gotten no doge since 2/1...

edit: nevermind, stupid kids changed the pools, I didn't notice, your pool is good to go!

okay, i see that, i can check again when your workers are back online, currently it looks like when the last transaction at 2/1 was made, no more shares were submitted, you account balance is fully paid out.

usually we should have found two blocks yesterday, but found only one, and this was also only around 500.000 DOGE.

It should flatten out over time, it has to do with luck an variance, especially with DOGE

I saw that we just found a larger 780.000 DOGE Block, now you're stats should match up as soon as the block is confirmed.

Ahh, I see. I even get a little bit more than estimated! Could you explain how this work? They payouts and how the blocks affect it? Can't find any good info out there :P

Its quite easy:

1. DOGE's Block size is variable between 1 and 999.999 DOGE. (at least now, it will be 1 to 499.999 in the near future when we hit block 100.000)

2. On a Prop Pool your shares are paid relative to the block size.


The more lucky the pool is, the more you get. You cannot do true estimates with DOGE because of this.

It also does not make a big difference if you're on a large or a small pool, it just takes a bit longer on small ones to find blocks.

We are still giving out 2500 DOGE per Block for the block Finder!

Looks like we're getting a login attack.  I'm getting failed login attempts on the Dogepool on browser refreshes.  Looks similar to what happened a couple of weeks ago on the LiteCoin pool.

Yes, i just Checked the logs and there are again brute force hacking attempts.

Must be due to the price rise and the increases of miners.


There is not much for me todo but banning those ips, so please make sure You have a strong password and everything will be ok.

Also make sure to Not use the same password on several Pools.

I have noticed that too.  I am up to several failed attempts today.
I have a strong PW but I'm going to kick it up a notch now.

Why ?
The Bruteforcers used your Username to tried to force into your account, they probably got it from the top miners list or from other pools. But your e-mail is not published, therefore they should not know it, it keeps the whole thing safer.

Something going on? Can't edit or add new workers. It says "added new worker" but it doesn't show up, and when I try again, it says it already exists. Also, I can't see the current speed of my worker.. And the site is laggy. Any info about this? Also, the new block was a bad one? got a REALLY, really small amount..

also, can someone explain how the payout works really? Let's say at first it said I had 500 in payout, and I noticed the "Est. Shares    xxxxxxxxxxx (done: 18.54%)" raised to like (done: 380%) or something like it and my estimated payout just got lower and lower the higher that one got, how are these connected? Would love if someone could explain how this all are associated with eachother or pass me a link where it's all explained.

Hi, i was first mining on this pool 2 days ago and receive my doge, after i was still mining much more but my balance still 0, why?

It happens that im checking the outcomes of other well known pools... highest ever 350%, and its like once every 20 times. We had a 4xx% block two days ago. And after that block, my rewards were 25% of usual. I must assume my rewards after this block are gonna be like 10%? Is it not correlated / something im missing? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, profitability has nothing to do with finding a 800% block... at least thats what i think.

Finally the round ended, unfortunately a very small block. But I think we will see the next block very soon now and hopefully it is a large one. Doge Diff is also a bit down now, should help

I don't understand. 2 days ago i was mining with a gtx630 for 4-5 hours and make 70 doge, after that i was mining with gtx650 ( double hash) for over 10 hours and get 7 doge :|

Should be better now as we already found another Block in that time. With the next block you'll also add some more coins.


What people often forget, we are already > block 100.000.. There are no more 1.000.000 DOGE Blocks, the max number is 500.000 now, so your rewards are almost halved because of this.


Currently there is a DDoS Attack going against our Webserver, it should end as soon as the folks notice that it doesn't really work and just slows things down. There is no effect for the Stratum/Mining-Nodes, you can keep on mining, everything will be counted as usual.

Hi OCMiner, hello to fellow DogePool users.

I'm new to DogeCoin, in my first 24 hours of mining. From around 16 hours of mining in another pool I picked up 56 Doge.

So far from a couple of hours mining in DogePool, nothing confirmed or unconfirmed.

I don't really understand the mathematics behind all this, but the other pool is doing around 1.4GH/s compared to DogePool's 262MH/s.

Does that mean it takes approximately six times longer to see any results?

But as I'm contributing at same rate as I was to the other pool, I should see about six times more Doge after waiting six times longer?

Is that roughly how it should work out?

Or is the randomness factor of when blocks drop such that it can be really all over the map, from much lower to somewhat higher?

Randomness is the biggest factor with doge.. Blocks can be as any size of 1 DOGE to 500.000 DOGE and that is what is shared proportionally between the miners.

Next block should be found very soon. make sure you are on wallet 1.5.2 to be on the right chain !

It seems like there is still a DNS problem somewhere around .. if you use Google's DNS everything is fine.

Use stratum+tcp://37.187.27.4:4444 to connect your miners, I'll try to get a backup dns running so www.dogepool.net is available shortly, in the meanwhile https://37.187.27.4/ should also do the trick.

No thats not normal, stats should be shown within 5-10 minutes, mostly instantly.

We seem to be finding more than our fair share of orphaned blocks recently? That one on the 22nd at 432% was particularly galling! Something up, or just bad luck?

Thats is/was a common problem with the Dogecoin 1.5 branch and should have been fixed with 1.5.2 but is obviously not, i've updated to a modified/updated 1.4 branch now which should solve this problem.

Looks good, next Block was not orphaned and a reasonable big one :)

Aaand the next Block in short time without a hiccup, we're good again.

I had one 45 minutes ago, but the doge coins haven't shown up in my wallet / client.

Manual payouts usually show up instantly. Is the transaction confirmed on your Transactions page ?

So it takes up to 1.5 hours then.. yea, the transaction has been confirmed in the transactions page for a while (more than one hour), and the doge coin client has been online and uptodate during the time. So I guess it's a bit weird...

That worked.  I tried us.dogepool.net:2222, asia.dogepool.net:2222, pool.dogepool.net:4444...and finally the direct IP worked!

Then something with your DNS seems to be wrong.. I can resolve all addresses without problems..

My current invalid is 45%!!!!!!!! Am I dragging everyone down?

I wouldn't say you're dragging everyone down rather you're just mining very inefficiently. Probably should look into why you're getting such high invalid rates. (probably due to overstressed GPU/CPU depending on what you are mining with.

I found out that all I need to do is just restart my miner. Thank you for the input.

One thing I found fishy is that on my "Dashboard" page under "Round Shares", next to "Est. Shares" the done percentage is doing something really weird.

Said when I checked in the morning was 400% done, and then in the evening it showed 200% done, in between, there is no pay out, and it used to be if the percentage was recounted, we would have got paid in between. It almost most look like something or someone is stealing our pool mining effort. And it is just happened for the last 2  - 3 weeks. Anyone notice that?

It is also the reason why I thought I might be dragging others down.

Nice tutorials.  This helps me figure out what is going on.  Any recommendations on GPU card to use with an old desktop?  Curious to try this.

Many pools (Doge and other coins, too) are creating port 80 listeners, for all those behind (mainly business) firewalls.

Dogepool on a port 80 connector would be an awesome feature.
 

so i cant seem to connect to your pool, i've tried all the nodes and made sure my info was perfect, i got it to work on a usb asic miner with exactly the same info (except different worker) and i cant find a solution, can anyone help me? i'm using guiminer scrypt btw

I am having issues this last week where I connect to the pool and locally it shows share being accepted but nothing on my dashboard and no shares showing as accepted.  Everything is good on my end.  I have tried several miners.
Any ideas??

Having been mining for nearly 24 hours straight on this pool, not one single coin.... Contacted, and never got a response back

          how long till i get payed i mined over 5 days ago and still no payout and not even a non confirmed yet  either
