Post by: MNtrio on May 11, 2018, 07:04:06 AM Do you think that cryptocurrency should be taught in schools or University? Specially in the field of business management? Precisely, bitcoin would be a great help for you in terms of financial aspect. If you can gain some money here then you can pay your own tuition and you can even help your family in terms of financial services. As a student, I believe it will give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? I have no idea about it, because in my country Bitcoin is not legal. For that reason, any school or University in our country are not taught about this Bitcoin. If we were to learn about Bitcoin, we would know very well about it, which would be Advantage for cryptoworld. I believe that one day our country will also learn about the Bitcoin in the School, University. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: BingoDog on May 11, 2018, 07:51:51 AM My answer is yes. Cryptocurrencies are the new reality in economy and business and young people should be informed about that and get some basic knowledge. Atitude that cryptocurrencies are reserved ony for bunch of enthusiasts is the wrong approach and should be changed.

Specially in the field of business management? As a student, I believe it will give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? While I dont see anything wrong with studying crypto currency in the university, I don't see it as giving advantage in the crypto world because what is being taught in the universities are largely theoretical and to have an advantage involves the practical which wont be taught in financial management. Again, the quality of those who will be taking the course, did they have grounded knowledge in the subject matter? or they will have to rely on just the common knowledge of what is available on the internet because to the best of my knowledge, I have not seen any Phd holder that obtained it in the field of crypto currency neither is any paper written by academicians on the subject matter flooded the internet. You want advantage, its on the forum and continue learning about updates thats all. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: pekavcilar01 on May 11, 2018, 08:04:59 AM There's no need to teach the crypto exchange. All universities have business and stock exchange departments.
Concepts such as bitcoin, blockchain, crypto money are technological things. Digital age. We must learn and develop Blockchain well. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: Anh Nhut on May 11, 2018, 08:12:50 AM In our country, the government has not accepted this electronic currency. It is very difficult to spread bitcoin into schools, though, but if I get paid with btc, I'm happy for that. I also hope it can be applied in a lesson so that it can educate students about the world of electronic money and can create a better future for electronic money.

Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: sunsilk on May 11, 2018, 08:19:38 AM Do you think that cryptocurrency should be taught in schools or University? Cryptocurrency is now the modern type of payment system and investment as well so this can be included to economics class or business management depending on the schools curriculum. As a student, I believe it will give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? Yep it's an advantage. This is the modern way of distributing wealth in the world if you do believe it and you are enthusiastic with it.Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? But I do not think universities will offer such courses until there is no national policy guidance.

The crypto craze is here to stay — now it’s even being taught in high school (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/07/bitcoin-education-at-high-schools-and-colleges.html). There's also a kindergarten in Russia that teaches trading. Specially in the field of business management? Of course it is a great idea to teach cryptocurrency to people that wants to know everything about it, and as far as I know there are already some schools/universities that included this. And for me it is a good idea to include a cryptocurrency subjects those courses that is related to technologies, economy and finance. Advantage? the only thing that I think will give advantage to those people that will be taught about cryptocurrency is that you will be aware and be updated about cryptocurrency but if you are one who wants to develop your own cryptocurrency in the future this can really benefit you but that's it, so can you answer what do you think will be the major advantages will you get from it? Specially in the field of business management? As a student, I believe it will give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? It definitely doesn't need to be. I think that Stanford actually started offering courses in cryptocurrencies and bitcoin, and that is extremely positive news for sure and indicates that bitcoin is indeed going mainstream as a currency. However it's hard to justify that it definitely has to be that way. Anyone that just wants to get into the crypto markets don't need any sort of qualifications or attend any courses, in fact, none of us on this forum have done any "professional" courses. There is a wide range of resources online, both relating to BTC technologically and financially. There is absolutely no need to take a university course in BTC, unless you're planning on building a career out of it. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: Kakmakr on May 11, 2018, 11:13:24 AM I personally think the technology is still in it's early stages and not even clearly defined by most governments. So it should also be too early to cover this topic in universities. We should give it some time, until everything is regulated and defined, before we take the next step to base educational material on this subject matter.
There are more than enough Books and educational material on the internet for everyone to access, not only the privileged people, who can afford to study. ::) Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? I see many online courses already but having them offline in Universities would be even better. But I see our education system is kind of slow. Whatever they teach is at least 3-4 years behind, and I would learn more about IT in real world experience. These kids should save their money, buy the dip, and setup a full node.

When I took computer science, we were learning C++ when all the jobs were in Java. By the time the curriculum changed, all the jobs were in .NET. By the time a professor incorporates crypto into the lectures, it's already obsolete. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: quocsi on May 11, 2018, 06:09:44 PM I agree on this. It is suppose to change the way banking works and not change the way people double their monies. The Business management tards would need to take up an extra sem to understand the working of bitcoins so it is essential to teach the subject to the students enrolled in computer science or other engineering. ill give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin as the leading and founding one should be taught in college students or possible in junior high. This will make students learn how to invest and earn money in a young age and know how to value money as well. But be cautious or else they might end up relying on it for their whole life once they earn pretty high. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: cizatext on May 11, 2018, 07:51:38 PM I will be great to learn cryptocurrency as a course in schools because that will give the students a better founder on knowing all about crypto, how it works and way to maximize profits from cryptocurrency and it advantage to our financial life and how it help better the economy of any nation. So teaching cryptocurrency in the university is the best thing instead of teaching some entrepreneurial course that can never be practice in real life.
Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: patispace on May 11, 2018, 08:23:28 PM In fact, I think it would be more correct to start education on these issues from an earlier stage, because children have shown sufficient capacity to be interested and involved in these issues.
However, it should be made clear that this field covers two issues that are clearly differentiated from one another: the purely technological sphere in which cryptocurrencies are circumscribed, and the economic-financial sphere to study their impact on the current economy and its contribution to the financial system of the world. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: muddy waters on May 11, 2018, 09:19:01 PM You're absolutely right.
Moreover, I would say that cryptocurrencies should be taught not only as a financial instrument but also with some basic explanation of its technical structure (all those blocks, shards, nodes, etc.). This would really help learners to become aware of the changes that our world is currently undergoing and the role of cryptocurrencies in this process. Seems legit better if blockchain technology will be the one that will be added into technology courses or computer courses while cryptocurrency (trading) is good for business class. Blockchain technology and developing will be in demand for the next few years or it's actually in demand today so to those that are still thinking for their career path, they might choose it and enroll to that school that has that type of class.Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Even if crypto is taught, the focus should be on block chain and how it can be used in other areas. If those students are able to use this technology and make life of people better, it would be really a boon for us. If they are taught only about financial returns, it may affect their studies negatively. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Right now, you can gain blockhain knowledge only via fragmented online sources and some basic Udemy courses, but that's far from enough. The integration of crypto into universities will also fuel mass adoption.

Specially in the field of business management? .As a student, I believe it will give us an advantage to this so called cryptoworld, right? I have been discussing this topic recently and I have been suggesting that offering subjects, courses, degrees or electives relevant to cryptocurrencies would significantly help the blockchain technology in uncovering its potential and process through a series of studies and developments made by students. Once their interest shift into cryptocurrency, they are actually contributing to the idea of having a decentralized form of payment, which may sway the decision of the government into making it legal or as an alternative currency around the world. Blockchain technology is a technological innovation, so it must be taught. On the other hand, cryptocoins has a massive marketcap in today's world. It is obvious that cryptocoins have a large portion of the economy. Definitely agree. Slowly, the world is shifting towards a technological revolution wherein we are inevitably embracing a new type of transactions. Everything is bound to start from somewhere and maybe today is the day wherein the currency will shift from fiat to a digitalized one powered under the blockchain technology. As a college student, this is the ideal to have cryptocurrency be taught in schools even high school. Teaching the students on how to invest and the benefits on what can we get from it but for sure the government won't allow it that's because they don't own or hold the crypto world. They are afraid of what it can happen to the economics of the country. If this is possible to happen we should push it through but it would be a hard battle especially it is hard to exactly who will be able to do it and even we are not sure who is the founder of bitcoin. So before this all happens we need to solve our own problem and so that we can make this happen. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? If the university is open the changes and are aware of the new advances in technology, bitcoin could be one of the topics in the administration. Offering a subject about cryptocurrencies could be a huge challenge due to government regulations. University will not experiment to offer subjects that the government is still thinking about its legality. However, I have read previously that there are famous university that offered a subject about cryptocurrencies but it focuses more on the blockchain technology, how it works especially the encryption. A short courses or training which is not directly prerequisite in an academic degree is offered by different training schools. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? I guess it would be better if they would organize a workshop, training or even symposium that focuses on cryptocurrencies trading and its like to benefit all their student on this knowledge.

Post by: yoseph on May 17, 2018, 07:10:28 PM For now, I don't think cryptocurrency can be taught in the University, considering the fact that it has not been globally legalized, which in turn has not been globally accepted. Until then, it will be a good idea to teach it in schools, for people to have wider knowledge about it. With most countries calling for regulation, it would be just a matter of time before they completely legalize it and the universities should start by teaching people so that they can keep abreast with the latest technology.Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: Indra32 on May 18, 2018, 03:29:49 PM I strongly agree with this at university learning Cryptocurrency. In the future electronic money will demand dominance. The use of e-money for business or online payments via the internet will be very popular. Now educating students about electronic money is very important to help students approach with electronic money early. This is very useful for students after they graduate. We all expect the government to have all universities apply Cryptocurrency learning materials. I think the quality of those who will take the course, if they have a knowledge-founded in the subject matter? or they should depend only on the general knowledge of what is available on the Internet because of my knowledge, I haven't seen the holder of a PhD to get it in the field of currency crypto also no paper written by academics about the subject matter flooded the Internet. you want a profit, it in forum and continue to learn about the update it all. although I don't see nothing wrong with learn currency crypto at the University, I don't see it as the benefit of the world crypto because what taught at the University of most of the theoretical and has the advantage involves practice not taught in the financial management. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: nightxglow on May 18, 2018, 03:33:02 PM I think it will be such a great idea to teach about cryptocurrency in college.
Not only we can spread and make people know about bitcoin, we can also make them who want to invest in bitcoin know better what cryptocurrency is. So they won't get the wrong idea and though just buying bitcoin will make them rich, or add the number of people who didn't understand about bitcoin and always panic sell, causing the market to drop. Moreover, most of my friends at college always wanted to invest in something, but they don't really know what and usually just buy stocks. They have potential and offering bitcoin to them seems like a great idea. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: Stormyblue on May 22, 2018, 01:53:26 PM I believe it is possible and this can surely happen in the future. Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? Post by: Saraquiel on May 23, 2018, 12:38:43 PM Hi
Its a novel idea to have Crypto taught in universities for future graduates but there are certain things that will constantly have to be changed within the curriculum since the Crypto world moves at such a high pace that by the time one class has graduated, the very next class will be receiving out-dated information so maybe just teaching the basics of Crypto understanding things such as Blockchain and the original coins such as BTC would be a good idea as a foundation for entering into the investment market and not falling prey to things like scams etc. Decent idea though if the government can get over their disdain of Crypto Title: Re: Learning Cryptocurrency in Universities? However it could be valuable to teach it to highschool and university students. With regards to what you could teach them; trading is fun/lucreative, but let's not forget that most crypto's right now are very speculative and have no proven business model yet. I believe most of them will die in the future, just like the dotcom early stages..so therefore trading crypto has not proven itself to be a long term sustainable way to earn money (and with long term I'm talking about 10 years).

There's nothing wrong if crypto being taught specifically in business management course that you have mentioned. What comes to my mind though, crypto relative to business management is just on the financial side of it which is trading and how to make money out of crypto. Blockchain technology and its ecosystem might be disregard in this field most likely. Furthermore, cryptocurrency at a present time is becoming more popular than ever, despite the fact that few countries are banning it. We really can't resist crypto's booming popularity anymore, so embracing it rather than rejecting it will give you an edge and adept in crypto than your contemporaries. The new generation will come and for sure this bitcoin or crypto thing is a strange and unknown word to them so teaching this in school gives them an advantage for an early exposure.
