Already 1000 Blocks, Very good premine.
Let this coin die pls.

Skein+SHA2? Is somewhere any commandline miner, or any plan for a pool? For now it can be solo mined, but I guess sooner or later (IMHO few hours at most) the difficulty will rise high enough for solo mining to be impossible.

1.8% Of total blocks?  Not the worst of premines, but certainly higher than would be desired by the public.

HEY OP!

More details about what you're doing w/ that premine, please.

When I started mining it was less, I think only about 200 or 300 blocks ... and I noticed this post perhaps minute or more after it appeared, so I guess those blocks could be that 1 minute headstart from others ...

Edit: now I see it in transactions: first block I've personally mined was block 853. And it took me about 2 minutes to compile .... so if there was premine it was not that bad.

Building a Linux QT now...

Don't think I'm going to be able to mine this though, so I guess it's just a favor to the users of the coin, lol

Still easy to solo-mine with a CPU, getting currently about a block per minute.

Actually, you can do it straight from the wallet application:

1. Click the "Console" button in your wallet app
2. Go to the "Console" tab
3. Type
Code:
minespice true
& press Enter.

You're now mining!

Don't feel too bad. My 2600k can't find anything. I only got 18 right now...I'm not sure if it's worth mining for me right now without a pool. Losing mining time in other already profitable coins.

The simplest example:

user name, password, and port are all set in your spice.conf, the ip address is the address of the machine where the daemon is running and you will be mining against.

Thanks for that, but I'm still baffled.

How do I identify the variables?

For example, it doesn't recognise -u for user or -p for pass.

An example would be excellent  ;D

Thanks for that, but I'm still baffled.

Ok, so this is the command line:

poclbm-skc.exe http://user:pass@ipaddress:port

If your user name is sussex and your password is 123 you would add them to the url like so:

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@ipaddress:port

You are probably mining on the same computer that you have the daemon/wallet running so you would put in localhost or 127.0.0.1 for the address to point the miner at:

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@127.0.0.1:port

Then there's the port. The docs say 1986 is the default port but that's a privileged port so you would be better off changing it to something like 11986 so then we plug that into the port (keep in mind, you still have to have changed the conf file to reflect all these values)

poclbm-skc.exe http://sussex:123@127.0.0.1:11986

This isn't cgminer so there's no -u -p or -o flags

Just started solo mining this about 20 minutes ago... been looking for a coin to try solo mining for a while just to see if I could get it working.. mined 3 blocks already  ;D

Can you paste your command line here, I can't get poclbm to start, please???

Thanks for that, but I'm still baffled.

How do I identify the variables?

For example, it doesn't recognise -u for user or -p for pass.

An example would be excellent  ;D

Thanks

Thanks for the help! Couldn't figure it out at all, have always used cgminer and minerd. Have gotten 1 block gpu mining now! This coin will get my hashes for a while.

Thanks for taking the time to give me a good expanation, but it still eludes me.

I am now getting Errno10061 No connection could be made because the target actively refused it.  :(

My firewall is off.

My command line is exactly as you typed it and my .conf looks like this:

rpcuser=sussex
rpcpassword=123
rpcport=11968
server=1
listen=1
maxconnections=200
addnode=162.243.69.185

addnode=184.155.114.216:61040
addnode etc etc etc

It's late, I'm tired and I suspect I'm doing something stupid, thanks for any pointers  ;D

EDIT:

Hahaha, I knew i was an idiot, it was the port number, deliberate mistake  ;)

Give me your address and i'll fling you some coins when I find a block  ;D

Thanks!!!!

WTB SPICE for 0.1BTC; send offers in PM. Thanks

note: I'm going to sleep right now, we can do this in next 30 min or tomorrow.
If no trader, and no escrow, we'll do 2x 0.05BTC, two way.

Thanks

Now, who can do pool?
Do we have any bounties set for ppl who do stuff?

We need to do blockchain, some pools and such. Any ideas?

EDIT: I can use my servers to make one pool later, if no one else does it. It would be my first.
I bought some of these already, I LOVE Dune, and I think it's a witty coin. Can't mine with my CPU's, though, all are sh*t :D

Yes because the difficult is 330 now, so VERY DIFFICULT to mine.!

I've got 800+ coins mining for the last 24 hrs and have hit 2.5 blocks in the last hour.

With only a million coins, this is worth persevering with - I'm aiming for a 1000th overall share at least.

Running 2x R9 280x, around 720kh/s each.

I'll let it run through for a couple hours and see if I hit a block... if you're still hitting 1-2 blocks every hour at 1540kh/s at this difficulty I'd assume I'd be able to hit one every two hours at 840kh/s ... unless I don't really have a clue what I'm talking about  :D.... $9/hr would be 24x more profitable than mining doge right now

it appear on you wallet

I have been mining for more than two hours with ~2600 kh/s (8 core processor) and still nothing appears. Is this normal?

If you're only using a CPU id assume it'll be a while before you hit a block if any... I'm running the GPU miner listed earlier in this thread which is telling me 250MH/s and I'm only hitting a block every hour and a half or so... I don't know how MH/s differs from KH/s due to this coin not being scrypt but I'm running 2x R9 270x which pulls roughly 820kh/s on average

Is it normal to have a high reject rate with a 270x and ccc 13.11?

I'm not getting any rejects with my 270x's ....  are you using this miner? https://github .com/reorder/poclbm-skc/blob/master/py2exe/poclbm-skc-win.zip?raw=true ... because I originally tried mining this with GUIminer-scrypt and all it gave me was rejects

sort of

I built poclbm-skc from source (xubuntu 13.10) and have never used any flavor of this python miner. Reading through this thread seems like I am doing something wrong cause the miner is showing my rate at 130mh/s on the single card.

NUTS!! I was mining with 8 cores, not sure how many you have right now. Difficulty was very low too, you are probably sitting on a pretty pot.

I am still selling 900 SPICE for 1 BTC or partials. I need some BTC right now to buy cheap SciFi coins at the new scifi-ex.com. So help me if you can :)

I am considering adding this over there too because of Blazr2's previous OFF and the fact that he launched at scificointalk too. This coin fits the mold perfectly! Won't happen today, but should be reasonably soon.

Just a head's up guys,

The difficulty is actually still very reasonable for solo mining.

I'm running around 1.2mh/s and hitting about two blocks an hour as I type this - if this coin ever takes off you could have a reasonable share of all the coins mined in just a few days.

Happens with every coin sadly :(

The dev seems to make solid coins with good themes, but doesnt seem to promote them heavily out of the gate, so they take a while to get going.

I'm not looking to dump, I'm only looking to cash out 1/5 my current shares right now, with only 1 million of these to ever be mined it technically should be worth 21x what BTC is worth, so selling at 800/1 BTC or $1 each is actually a steal

A few of us have already offered donations, we just need someone with the nous and willingness to organise it. I'm not sure I know enough to run pools and faucets etc.

This coin has a good theme, not just another scrypt clone, and only has 1 million coins total.  It has only been out for less than a week and people want to dump already at a dirt low price.....sigh

We need someone to get a pool going....it looks like we could easily get together some funds for a bounty on a pool.

Or someone needs to make a sacrifice to Cthulu to get the developers to do some promotion! :)

Yeah, makes total sense.  Did you know there are about an equal number of cocks and vaginas on the planet?  Therefore, we should desire both equally.  I thank crypto-currency for revealing to me that I am bisexual.

You see how stupid that sounds?  You are using the same logic.

Just like that old nugget "LTC should be 1/4 of BTC" crap.  It's supply AND demand, not just supply we consider.

Jesus christ guys, an entire page of the thread dedicated to people trying to dump the coin isn't gonna help it any.  If we all donated to a faucet, pool, or just started a huge giveaway, that might help.

I'm not looking to dump, I'm only looking to cash out 1/5 my current shares right now, with only 1 million of these to ever be mined it technically should be worth 21x what BTC is worth, so selling at 800/1 BTC or $1 each is actually a steal

Boy, you're totally not a prick.  ::)

...If you had bothered to read 3 posts below that one you would have read this gem: "lol, exactly why I put 'technically' in there, realistically there's no way it would ever see that price"

No, not even technically should it be that price.

There will be 1,000,000 total so take the price of CGB as a guide.  We also need to consider that this is a niche coin within what is a niche market, doesn't have nearly the mass appeal of CGB.  I like the coin, I like Dune, I like sci-fi, I am mining this coin and hold a fair chunk of it and would like it see it do well, but even I would say a fair price for SPICE is 0.0003 - 0.0006 BTC tops right now.

Ahhh bitcointalk has decided that altcoin giveaways are not allowed here.

you can open one at scificointalk then post a link here.

I also would post a link at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434310.0 the ban giveaway thread.

No, I was berating you for saying it "technically should be worth 21x what BTC is worth".  On a deeper level I am berating you because I can hide behind this screen name and be a big internet bully when of course I don't have the spine to call people out on their bullshit in real life.  Just a way to make myself feel superior to someone else even for just a brief second before I return to my menial 3rd shift job and continue to underachieve.

Wow, you really held a mirror up to me today Jarod, thanks.  You are a regular Dr. Phil.

Or it could be amphetamine psychosis setting in because I've been awake for 4 days, who knows.

I'll throw down 50 for a faucet or 100 for a pool

I'll also donate to a faucet & pool.

I'm guessing this can be the pool CPU miner: https://github.com/skeincoin/skeincoin-cpuminer

The Scifi Exchange (https://www.scifi-ex.com) proudly welcomes Melange/SPICE to the family. SPICE is trade-able as of 02/02/2014.

The Scifi Exchange is an exchange that was born out of the Star Trek coin community (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=377997), where we promote 3 coins:
- United Federation Credit (UFC) is Blake265 coin, 50 coins per block.
- Klingon Empire Darsek (KED) is Scrypt POS/POW coin, 3.5 coins per block.
- Gold Pressed Latinum (GPL) is Scrypt-Jane POS/POW, very rare: 0.2 coin per block!

We have a vibrant forum, with a dedicated Giveaway section that can be used to promote this coin: http://scificointalk.com/index.php/board,12.0.html

We ask that you would consider to help us promote the coins to Cryptsy by liking and posting comments on:
https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/74527

See you soon at the exchange!!

It's certainly beginning to look like the spice isn't flowing anywhere, I gave up mining this days ago, a shame because it could be a good coin IMO.

Is the coin still alive? I successfully compiled the wallet on Linux. I can run spiced, but it finds no peers, even with the addnode lists from this thread in the conf.
Any ideas?

Now I've got a synced wallet on my Linux console.
Next step: I'd like to start mining.

Can anybody confirm me this is the right command in Linux?

./spiced setgenerate true <number or threads>

As far as I understood it might take a while for me to see a block.
If I query getmininginfo I read:

{
    "blocks" : 10828,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 32.29897560,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : true,
    "genproclimit" : 1,
    "hashespersec" : 107285,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : false
}

Thanks!

I have 2 nodes also 198.199.100.216 is a VPS with lots of coins.

Yes that is working on 1 CPU

try  https://github.com/reorder/poclbm-skc/archive/master.zip  for a python CPU/GPU miner

my bat file looks like
D:\Miners\poclbm-skc-win\poclbm-skc.exe http://mogrith.1:12345@127.0.0.1:1987

with the mogrith.1 12345 and rcp 1987 all set in the spice.conf file

You'd think with the very low total coins and being GPU, people would be all over this.

Sorry if I sound nasty, but majority here struggles with English, watches reality shows and was born in mid 90's, you can't expect them to know anything about Dune or to have any reading history ;)
It'll catch up. Look at it this way - longer it's low diff, more coins for you :)

NEW pool up and running!

spice.argakiig.us

PPLNS Stratum support

Requires skein-sha2 miner, and I recommend the GPU miner called  "poclbm-skc" which is available for Windows and Linux

Windows binary:  https://github.com/reorder/poclbm-skc/blob/master/py2exe/poclbm-skc-win.zip?raw=true

- Just extract and make a .bat file containing the following:  "poclbm-skc.exe --verbose stratum://un.worker:pw@spice.argakiig.us:9999"

where un.worker is your pool username.workername and pw is the worker's password.

Your pool does not pay out either auto or manual.

[edit] ok, looks like its just slower than dirt on the payouts.

[edit 2] news flash, i am impatient! lol! Auto payouts running well

its not that its slower than dirt, its that the coin takes 180 confirms, I hadnt realized that. but I have set that up now. Make sure you set auto pay, the coind doesnt support larger transactions.

Spice finally got a pool.  I was wondering why the difficulty was going up and had to check this thread.  Been mining it on and off since release but it seems the days of easy SPICE are ending.

Hopefully this starts drawing attention to the coin at least.  People are dumping it on the sci-fi exchange for crazy cheap considering its rarity.

The plus to pool mining is im actually managing to hit blocks more often than solo mining. yes you may get a smaller percentage, but you end up getting more in the long haul due to increased blocks found.

How many people are still mining this?

I tried it again today after a long pause and it's incredibly easy. At current difficulty you'd get a few % of total coins in a day with just a couple of GPUs.

It's such a shame to see this coin dying, I think it's got a great theme and it seems to be better techically made than most coins that come out today. Plus it probably negatively affects the worms :)

Is there anyone willing/able to make a faucet or something else to promote spice?

Price still ridiculously low on scifi-ex for this coin... how I miss the days of solo mining 0.03 worth of BTC a day off this  :'(

Price is not as bad as the lack of volume

Just done the math, at 0.0000015 BTC and a million coins, this has a cap of 1.5 BTC !!!!!!

I've bought a little more, it only takes a tiny thing for this coin to get noticed and price could go up ten times and still only be at 15 BTC.

This definitely seems to have slipped under the radar.

The sci-fi exchange is pants though, no volume for any coin there - imagine what might happen if this were to get onto a real exchange.

I think those who hold larger amounts of spice should start selling more even at current prices. Even if you think you're selling it off too cheap now, you're contributing to it becoming more popular. If more people have the coin, more people are interested in the coin, hence greater chance at it getting more noticed. In the long run you'll be better off. If everyone just holds it waiting for the price to go up, it's gonna die out before that happens. There needs to be liquidity in the market.

For everyone currently not mining: 1Mh scrypt equivalent mining setup gets you at current difficulty about 20000 spice per day. At currnet highest buy order (0.000001 BTC/spice) that means 0.02BTC/Mh/day. Even at half the price or double the difficulty I think that is still the most profitable currency at the moment.

BTW: is anyone else having problems logging into sci-fi exchange?

Yeah except on day one of mining and selling you've effectively gobbled up all buy support.

It is a science-fiction themed coin, useful for science-fiction themed games.

Not being on an exchange is a good thing for game currencies, until Diablo III came along games always HAD TO say in their terms and conditions that players MUST NOT sell game stuff for real money. That is because of gambling laws, basically if there is any chance that any player could take home more money than they put in, the game came under gambling laws, which can be a huge can of worms.

So in looking for cryptocoins to implement into innocent games/sports as distinct from mere gambling, finding ones with themes that suit the milieu of your game and which do NOT have official "this stuff is real money, see, there is an exchange, you can sell it for fiat" can be important...

Of course if even after all the trouble we went to to ensure our game is NOT gambling, some evil player(s) break the rules by setting up markets where game stuff can be traded for real money, not much that we can do about it...

For fun and profit. It was never totally gone I think, it just had very few supporters. And there is mining, I mine on it all the time. Perhaps you mean there is no pool? No POS is both good and bad, there will be no POS inflation. Did you notice there was a new build of the client published just days ago? ;)

Not an insane POS like you did to QBT! Spamming out vast numbers of new coins constantly cannot be good for prices, surely?

How about fix QBT to something reasonable instead of screwing yet another coin into the ground?

Maybe make it like GPL, a tiny enough stake rate that inflation won't totally destroy all value almost instantly?

Right now SPICE mining gives tiny enough rewards that inflation is small, spamming trillions of coins is a horrible idea especially for something intended to be rare/precious.

Agree, i think would be a good idea to make a fixed reward per block like 1 coin, in this way we protect the value, high pos rates is equal to hyperinflation, you can see it on sprouts or beans

SPICE was already lower than one coin per block, it has actually been 0.001 coins per block for a long time I think. So once who-ever megamined it back in the day has dumped, it should be ripe to become a good valuable coin if the blockchain can be secured. Trying to secure a blockchain with proof of work is insanely expensive though unless you use merged mining AND actually have decent amount of miners using the merged mining pools. So maybe proofr of stake is better?

Look at Unobtanium, there are less coins of GPL and maybe even of Diamond than there are of Unobtanium.

QBT used to look pretty good, but with its new hacked up insanly high PoS rate it is set to triple or quadruple its number of coins every year and already has over 50 million coins, so thats maybe 200 million in a year, eight hundred million in two years, two point four billion in tghree years etc, that is crazy, what used to be potentially a good coin is probably screwed now. Lets not do that crap to more coins.

Remember there have been coins around for many years based in sci-fi milieus, remember some of the originals, United Kingdom Britcoin (UKB), Canadian Digital Notes (CDN (http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/incdn.html)), General Mining Corp scrip (GMC), General Retirement Fund scrip (GRF), bitNicKeLs (NKL (http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/innkl.html)), United Nations Scrip (UNS), Martian BotCoins (MBC (http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/inmbc.html)) and so on? You can see them listed still at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html

Originally they were cloned from bitcoin much like IXCoin (IXC) and I0Coin (I0C) were, just before we built GRouPcoin (GRP) and DeVCoin (DVC), but it was realised that even merged mining might not suffice to secure their blockchains so GRouPcoin was left as it was to serve as a test and proof of concept to determine whether merged mining would suffice to secure a coin and the "big seven" galactic currencies were switched over to Open Transactions.

All of those coins are still listed, but unfortunately development of Open Transactions has kept stalling so we still do not have the "Open Transactions that even grandma can use" yet which has left most of these currencies being used only within the Milieu gaming environment. This much newer wave of sci-fi coins (SPICE, GPL, UFC and so on) is of much interest to the Milieu though so we expect to integrate them once Open Transactions does get around to finalising its data formats and putting out its GUI client "that even grandmothers can use".

PoS rate and inflation is different things. Only 20*24*365*100 = 17.52M QBT issued per year.
QBT has 150 coin per block at start, now only 100, where is hyperinflation?
If PoS rate 5-10% you stake one time per year, and no new blocks on net. When PoS 200-1000% and max block size limited,
you must stake everyday and create new blocks and secure blockchain.
I can fork, cheat or double spend any altcoin with my home computer, except HYP or QBT.

I guess I do not understand what you mean. Supposedly the rate is 300% per year, that means number of coins is multiplied by four in a year...

Or mayb e you mean it is multiplied by three rather than that it adds three times as many as you stake?

I do not understand how you are having 300%/year come out different from that...

If PoS rate 300% and min stake time 365 days then inflation 300%
If rate 300% and min stake 30 days then inflation 1355%
If rate 300% and max coins generated per block 100, then Blocks.per.Hour*24hour*365*Coin.per.Block=Max.Coin.per.Year.
Now money supply 54M QBT, and if 17.52M QBT issued per year, then inflation 17.5*100/54=32%
Then in next year 17.5*100/(54+17.5)=24%

So if you are staking 30 QBT you get 90 (300%)
but if you have Staking 5000 you get 100 (100 QBT max)

If PoS rate 300% and min stake time 365 days then inflation 300%
If rate 300% and min stake 30 days then inflation 1355%
If rate 300% and max coins generated per block 100, then Blocks.per.Hour*24hour*365*Coin.per.Block=Max.Coin.per.Year.
Now money supply 54M QBT, and if 17.52M QBT issued per year, then inflation 17.5*100/54=32%

Yes, but this 30 QBT must be 365 days old.
Optimal input size for QBT = 800 (98.6 coins after 15 days)

I propose 3 variants.

1. PoS + PoW. PoW reward 1, PoS rate 18%, no block limit. PoW inflation: 131K, PoS inflation 135K
Todays supply 750K, first year inflation (131+135)*100/750=35%

2. PoS + PoW. PoW reward 9, PoS rate 200%, PoS block limit 9. Inflation 15*24*365*9=1182K per year

3. PoS + PoW. PoW reward 4.5, PoS rate 50%, PoS block limit 90. Inflation PoW: 591K, PoS: 378K or less.

I think this chain should become Proof-of-Stake (however, anything more than 15% annual would doom any practical -- or even collectible -- value of such a cool coin IMO) or possibly a hybrid PoW/PoS.  My argument is that the chain seems to be moved quite easily by CPU mining within the wallet (at least when I experimented with it a couple weeks ago).  If someone had an incentive and the know-how it could be 51%-attacked as (another coin by the same dev) CHAO was said to be.  At least with staking, any bagholders with heaps of Melange would be incentivized to support the network.  The mining reward is a rounding error on the overall coin moreover and the reward justifies why hardly anyone is bothering to mine it.

I have considered making a WTB request to build a position in this chain (but I think the network has to make this both worthwhile and secure simultaneously -- hence the staking argument).   Vampirus made some proposals earlier... although I feel he should ratchet down the percentage to at least the minimum figure of <= 15%.

One of the main uses for this coin is as an anagathic (anti-aging) drug in games that feature individual characters subject to aging or military or diplomat units sufficiently experienced that keeping the average age of the people forming the unit from advancing too far or too fast is worthwhile.

How well this works will probably depend on how attached players are to particular characters as compared to simply having their loot be inherited by a younger character they create to take the place of the aging one.

SPICE is now part of the Galactic Milieu (http://http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu) game.

Since trying to use "exchanges" to "discover" the values of game-currencies has proven a very awkward and unreliable process, we prefer to divide a "treasury" by the number of coins minted to arrive at a value. So for the last few years various groups wanting to adopt a currency as their national currency or clan currency or species currency or whatever in the game have been quietly putting together "treasuries" of "reserves" toward that purpose. Lately a number of these treasuries have been put into use.

Thus here are the Latest Rates values of many of the Galactic Milieu's coins and assets, expressed in SPICE at that calculated value of a SPICE coin:

Hmm well BBQ and NMC I haven't actually had any of for years, they are shown mostly as a relic of the scripts.

All my BTC is of course out on exchanges building buy-sides vs BTC for various of the others on various exchanges.

LTC I never did really get into, mostly it is still in the scripts because, like BTC, it is familiar to a lot of people. I do not actually have any.

I think all of the rest I have some of or can get some very easily; so maybe come up with a number of SPICE you're willing to part with for one or more of them at those prices...

The Devtome wiki is probably down right now though suppoedly it is in process of being put back online in read-only mode;

When it does come back online Galactic Milieu pages start at http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=galactic_milieu

There must be oodles of docs on the internet about how to use Stellar, maybe start at Stellar.org ?

The issuer account and asset labels are shown on my http://makemoney.knotwork.com/ site under stellar.

I update prices and maintain history tables of them starting at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html

I'm really only interested in coins that are in the top 10 at this point, so BTC and LTC are the only ones on that list that I'd want... but I'd take anything in the top 10 if there was a trading pair for them. I'm pretty much willing to part with my entire stack of SPICE for that price, but unless you're a total BTC whale you probably don't have to liquidity to buy me out... and I would absolutely need what I sell SPICE for to be a high cap coin that I can trade into fiat for tax reasons.

Well now we have a venue where you keep custody of the buy side (in this case the XLM) even while it is in offers, hopefully we can build a strong buy-side in SPICE/XLM without the exchange running off with all our coins, buy-side included, which has happened so often.

Hopefully it is just a matter of time to get SPICE/XLM built up.

Can't you go in two steps maybe?

There are some of the Sci-Fi coins that ARE on exchanges vs bitcoin, such as SCIFI itself, GPL2, KED and QBT.

So would you be able to trade SPICE for one of those then send those to an exchange to get BTC ?

From the crazy-low prices of such coins against BTC on such exchanges though it does look like trying to go to a top ten coin does incur quite a massive premium.

Too much risk involved, because I was mining SPICE before it was traded anywhere my cost basis for SPICE is zero and selling at those prices would be a five figure profit... if I were able to actually find a buyer with deep enough pockets and a trustworthy escrow service to liquidate SPICE at those prices I would owe the IRS over $10,000 ... Adding another low volume coin and third party exchange into the mix is just asking to get screwed. I'd rather just leave the SPICE in cold storage and owe nothing than take that type of risk

After looking more into this I'm now understanding how stellar works... but I'm not understanding how I can get my SPICE to be tokenized/wrapped and issued to my XLM address... ? Because from what I'm seeing here there is no way for this to happen without me sending my SPICE to whoever owns the issuing account and then they issue me the XLM token?

Yes that is how it is done. I have set up a /.well-known/stellar.toml file on my Makemoney domain that theoretically is read by clients to get info about the assets issued from that domain, but I do not know whether it is actually working, my client does not seem to use it. But in theory clients should be able to find out from there that the instructions for bailing-in and bailing-out coins say to contact user "knotwork" on Keybase, that is me.

I do not run an automated site for bailing-in and bailing-out coins for two reasons:

One, the free open-source code available for doing that claims to not be ready for production use; and

Two, the code simply creates new tokens as it receives coins, and vanishes (send back to issuer) tokens when it bails them back out to on-blockchain coins again, which is not how I like to operate.

I consider it a bit flimsy to just automatically assume you really got the coins the code thinks it received and issue tokens based on the code's imagining it securely received the coins. My approach is, rather, to create tokens in advance, and to only create tokens representing HALF of my coins, so that I can still have the other half of my coins available to "buy back" my tokens without having to go dig up from cold storage the coins I actually "tokenised" aka "wrapped". That way my wrapped coins can in principle be stashed ridiculously securely, in ways that could take weeks or months or more to dig back up out of frozen storage, because I will never need them until I cease supporting that coin; as long as I still expect to ever need tokens of that coin again I can simply "buy back" my tokens using the other half of my coins, ready to hand them out again next time someone wants to "bail in" some of the actual coins.

This also means though that the number of tokens is a bottleneck of my system. If you want to "bail in" more coins than I have tokens for we need to come up with some deal whereby I get enough of the coin from you to only need to create tokens representing HALF of them; the other half you'd use to buy something else from me, so that when I issue the new tokens I can keep on hand as many coins as I made tokens for PLUS the coins the tokens are actually based on.

That way frees me to use ridiculously complicated ways of "freezing" the tokenised coins, such as breaking up the keys into "X of N" parts distributed among N number of safety deposit boxes distributed around the world, or bury them under concrete under a swimming pool in my backyard, or anything, without needing to worry about how to ever dig them back up again "in a hurry" since they will never be needed again until my heirs-and-assigns decide to shut down the whole tokenising concept never needing tokens of that coin again.

So, contact me (knotwork) on keybase, or I suppose if not concerned about privacy you could even use direct messaging here though keybase is probably better.
