Title: KYC at Bitcoin talk account in place of various bounty manager?
Post by: rajkr on June 03, 2018, 04:14:08 PM
It is mandatory in many cases to have a bitcoin talk account for joining any ICO bounty program. But afterward each bounty manager asks for separate KYC. Is it not possible to centrally store KYC at Bitcoin talk account from where bounty manager can access details of bitcoin account holder who is participating in particular bounty. In such way it can be easily known that  in how many bounties one is participating ,indirectly how is he contributing to forum or mostly posting bounty related posts.

Thanks for waking up LOL
In this forum we like to stay anonymous. Even when we register, we can register with a fake email because you do not need to verify your email address.

By the way, we do have discussions about bounty KYC issues. It's nothing new. Click here. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4408032.msg39237716#msg39237716)

And as our lovely poet said once here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3097811 :
I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.
The problem that the hell gets warmer with our sins :-\

It's not mandatory to have a forum account for ICOs and many ICOs just list here but have their own sites, but theymos would never do this and has previously stated so. Besides, the companies probably have to do their own individual KYC verifications and likely won't be able to just rely on this forum for that.

...and OP mysteriously disappeared.

Look, bounty managers don't have any right to enforce KYC unless they are running ICO and in that case - do research.

You can start with your own account. Put your ID in avatar and all your personal information in signature. Add credit card number and pin under avatar.  ::)

Are you dumb or something??? Do you see that big "Bitcoin Forum" sign on top of page? It means NO KYC. Go away.

The idea is interesting only for the participants of the bounty, nothing more. I don't think the forum needs it. Because of the bounty appeared a lot of garbage on the forum. Also had to change the system of merit. So this idea will remain an idea.

The Irony
Giving all your personal information for the sake of KYC, in a forum related to cryptocurrencies where privacy has more value than most of the other niches.
Soon users will ask "Why no GDPR on BitcoinTalk?"

Personally, I don't participate in ICO so I am not concerned but if I was I wouldn't give my personal info to be stored on the forum server with the risk to get the same event that we saw back in 2015. I wouldn't give to a bounty manager or ICO's website either

Admin has already ruled out that possibility in the past. So you can think of other suggestions to stop people abusing the signature campaigns here. Some of the bounties do require users to give information or have some additional requirements like joining a telegram channel. This will not eliminate multiple profiles completely but will reduce the numbers for sure.
