The way Hardware wallets achieve maximum security is by saving your private key and signing your Bitcoin transactions offline so someone who tries to "hack" your wallet remotely can not do it.

Most Hardware wallets also use a second screen / device to verify actions on your wallet such as signing transactions. In this way, if a hacker gains control over your computer, he still can not be dangerous as it requires access to the physical devices connected to your computer as well.

Bitcoin hardware is the safest chip they made based on this from my perspective there is no way to hacked btc hardware because its made for security and many data’s like public key and private key also many information’s is stored there so there is no reason to hacked.

There have been no reported cases of a hardware wallet being hacked remotely without tampering.

Hardware wallets are offline in a sense that they never expose your private keys outside the device itself (the device itself signs your transactions so it never needs to be exposed anywhere else), so unless a massive exploit is able to change that somehow, they're going to be impossible to remotely hack into. They could possibly be cracked with physical access though.

So yeah, to summarize, it has been impossible to remotely hack a hardware wallet thus far, but that can change at any point in the future. They're one of the safest ways to store your crypto, but always keep in mind that you should never be storing all your eggs in one basket.

Pretty much everything is hackable depends on the one who is hacking and has a good skill on doing it. Humans do learn how to do it every time there will something new.

Everything is hackable. But I am using myetherwallet to protect my tokens and altcoins, i never used metamask wallet so i dont have idea about metamask. But there is no way to hack your MEW without leacking private key. If you incorrectly leak your private key in any scam website you wallet will be easily hack. So while using private key you should causious on that.

About the software there are no perfect security system and all has its own vulnerabilities and in the future there will always be a new vulnerabilities that will be discovered and manufacturers will patch it, this is why if you own a hardware wallet, you should always update its software if new patch is released. Hardware wallets can not be hacked if it never been connected on a device that is connected on the internet but can be hacked if someone has physically access the hardware. Remember the man that lost all his savings because all of his cryptocurrencies store on a hardware wallet are gone or hacked? it is because he bought the hardware wallet from a re-seller that might had able to tampered the hardware that he sell and not bought directly from the manufacturer.

the most secure way of storing bitcoin is always going to be an actual offline wallet such as a paper wallet. hardware wallets are not exactly cold storages, they are more like secure storages.
there has been cases of exploits in different hardware wallets that actually leaked private keys. fortunately no serious losses has been recorded as far as i can tell but as you can see there is no 100% safety.

I think the hardware wallet vulnerability level of hacking is quite minimal, this is because the wallet hardware is rarely connected to the network and is online only when needed so there will be no hacking as long as the hardware wallet is not connected to the network

Let me telll you about one method how a hardware wallet might be hacked. They do not have to physically hack the hardware, they just
intercept the data or take control of your computer for a few minutes and in that time they quickly execute a "transfer" of coins to their Bitcoin adress. <They freeze inputs to your keyboard or they blank out the screen while you logged into the wallet>

The transfer process only takes a few seconds, so they only have to wait for you to access the hardware wallet and then they hijack the session.  >:(

Everywhere in the world is full of good and bad people. Similarly, the internet is filled with lots of good and bad people. These bad people on the internet are called hackers — and they constantly wait for opportunities to steal things. Hardware wallet  is offline wallet is not connected to the internet. So, it is impossible for hackers to get access to it. The only way someone can access your Bitcoins is if they get hold of your hardware wallet and are able to unlock it.

You have a point, it depends on how you keep secured your own  wallet.
Actually hardware wallet is the most safest wallet in the world of crypto like trezor, ledger nano etc. And if you want a solid secured you may used an offline wallet.

The hardware wallets usually don't get hacked unless they've been modified by the seller, for this reason you should always buy from the manufacture's  website and not from resellers on Amazon, eBay etc. The private keys never leave the hardware wallet.

a hardware wallet is NOT offline! you connect it to a computer and what happens is that the hardware wallet is supposed to not leak your private keys out under any circumstances but due to bugs this can happen and there has been cases of this happening so it is not 100% safe.

The hardware (cold) purse provides 99,9% protection, because when carrying out transactions, you do not have to light the key. The device first generates a new key that is not stored on the computer or one of the cloud services. And all information is stored only in the protected chip of the purse.
When making a payment, an operation is signed inside the chip, and the keys are not transferred to the stationary device even when the system is connected to the Internet. To confirm the transaction, use buttons on the cold wallet.
Crypto currency in the hardware purse is also protected by a pin code. Even with the loss or theft of the device, thieves will not be able to use the wallet without a PIN code

Hardware wallets are seriously secured. I've never seen any cases that their Hardware wallets has been hacked. The only way hackers can hack your Hardware wallet is when they got your private keys which depends on how you took care of 'em. But as long as you can keep your private key safe, there's nothing to worry about.

Being a victim of hackers doesn't mean that these hackers are computer geniuses and can do everything remotely, sometimes it only depends on how we take care of our important files, passwords and informations because they are just looking for their target's weakness before they attack.

Example.
If you are just too careless about your password. Then expect that someone has already got it.

Hacking wallet is what happens frequently in the Crypto market. The security of electronic wallets is very poor, hackers are very intrusive and steal your money.
If you like crypto and want to invest in it long term, I think you should buy a cold wallet. Ledger Nano S will be the top choice because its security is the best I ever knew. Hackers can not get into it because when you do the transaction, your wallet will be offline and safe. ;)

For the offline wallet we take the example of Ledger Nano.
Ledger Nano is a smartcard-based hardware wallet. A private key is created and signed offline in a smartcard secure environment. Nano is set up using the Chrome Ledger App. A 24-word random seed is generated during offline setup and support by writing it on a sheet of paper. In the event of theft, damage or loss, the entire wallet can be recreated with the seed. A user of the selected PIN code is also assigned to the device to protect against physical theft or hacking.

Ledger Nano is a smartcard-based hardware wallet. A private key is created and signed offline in a smartcard secure environment.

The ledger nano (HW.1) was based on a smartcard (ST23YT66) with USB support.
However, it is not being maintained or (officially) sold anymore.

Their maintained product, the ledger nano s (https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s), is based on the ST31H320 (http://www.st.com/en/secure-mcus/st31h320.html) Secure element, which does differ entirely from the HW.1 architecture.
This secure element doesn't even support USB/Displays. Thats the reason ledger uses a second microcontroller (STM32F042K6 (http://www.st.com/en/microcontrollers/stm32f042k6.html)).
This was the attack surface used by Saleem Rashid when finding a vulnerability in their architecture.

He didn't "hack into ledger nano S".

What he did was modify the firmware in such a way as to make it possible to load a custom firmware onto the device while the device still believed it to be an official firmware. By doing this he was able to load a firmware that would generate a known seed... however, it was still not possible to actually extract the existing seed or private keys from a device that was already initialised.

I think yes, It is not possible to beat the hardware wallet. Since it always stays offline, so hackers are unable to enter the gate of hacking it.

Most of the hardware wallets gain maximum security by saving private key and by signing Bitcoin transactions offline, so if anyone tries to hack a hardware wallet remotely cannot do it. Theyy also use a second screen to verify every action of the wallet like signing into a transaction. So a hacker requires access to the physical device connected to the computer thus it becomes impossible to hack it.

The software wallet is connected to an internet,so when it is connected to internet the wallet can be hacked.Like software wallet is hardware wallet can be hacked? Is it possible to hack?Is hardware wallet completely offline?

Nowadays, a lot of people are offering amazing, secured, reliable and other so called adjectives that can attract people and use their very own electronic wallet or e-wallet. In the other hand, a lot of people are amazingly unsecuring this e-wallet that may be due to scam and other malicious welfare they could create. So I guess even if it is hardware or/and you think you are secured enough you still have to take care of what you gain.

Firstly I think there is no way to hacked hardware wallet. On the other hand, I also think it could be. About the software, there is no perfect security system. Hardware wallets cannot be hacked if it never been connected to a device that is connected to the internet but can be hacked if someone has physically accessed the hardware. So we have to be careful in keeping our hardware Wallet.
To date, a hardware wallet is considered a safe storage of your savings, but this can change at any time in the future. Technologies are developing, including criminal ones too. Therefore, you must pay great attention to the security of your storage. And do not keep all the savings in one place

I'm pretty sure, anyone can hack it if the axe is sharp enough.

Today, hardware wallet are the most secure type. But when technology changes day by day, hardware wallet can be hacked easily. So do not put all in one place

As much as I know ther is no possiblity of hardware wallet being hacked as you need to deal with a physical device here. Fo this I prefer hardware wallet the most and it provides you with the maximum security.

Your hardware wallet is only as secure as your method of storing your seed phrase, or if you are careless with revealing your PIN in public.

There is no such thing as "unhackable".

Technology do evolve but hacking a hardware wallet remotely would really be an impossible thing to do.We do know on how hardware wallet works when it comes to storage and into its own key. The only way that it can be hacked if keys would be exposed public or when its already involved with some malware but talking about exploits or whatsoever for now its still unhackable.

If able to have control over the bitcoin you holded in your wallet means finally that will be safer side for long time mate. It will normal for any kind of wallet, none of provider have access to your wallet. Only exchange wallet only have the access over your private key.
Personally I do not believe the whales who saying that their site has been hacked bro. There is much possiblities that to see they itself loot our money. For hardware wallet you can believe it. There would not be any problem with it.

The safest one is to use paperwallet, but of course it can only be kept there if there is a long-term storage purpose. Hardware wallets are also pretty safe by the way, never heard the news of hacking, but remember, nothing is guaranteed 100%.

I think the biggest vulnerablilty for hard wallets was the connectivity requirements to smartphones. I think the one-time password is a great way to support security for that.

Just because you are dealing with a physical device, this does not mean it is unhackable.
New vulnerabilities can always be found and exploited. Nothing is guaranteed to be 100% safe and secure.

A vulnerability inside the ledger architecture has been found which allowed an attacker to replace the firmware with a malicous version.
This has been fixed. And it could not lead to via the internet. Physical access prior someone using the nano s is necessary for this attack.

Hardware wallets are not required to be connected to smartphones (some allow you to pair them with a mobile wallet).
And even if they would require such a connection, this would not pose any security threat. This is simply due to the fact that the private keys are generated and stored inside the hardware wallet.
They won't ever leave the device. Transactions are being sent from the mobile to the hardware wallet (an attacker might be able to insert a malicious TX here), then signed on the device after approving it via pressing the physical buttons. If you are checking the transaction on the nano s screen and only approve correct transactions, there is no other way of stealing coins in such a scenario.

I think if you use a software storage wallet. You must have a private key. if you have a private key, no one can hack it.
