If i will be given a chance to do a project with cryptocurrency then i will be making an all in one digital wallet for all crypto that includes bitcoin and all altcoins using same wallet address. I have seen too many digital wallet from known digital wallet for ERC20 tokens and for bitcoin digital wallet but i never saw a digital wallet that will cater all the digital currency either bitcoin or altcoins. If i have only the capacity to do it like having a good team developer and a financer then i guess i could make a revolutionary digital wallet.

A wallet which does create the same address for each crypto currency is not possible.
(Almost) each cryptocurrency does have its own address format.

What you might be refering to is a wallet which holds private keys for multiple cryptos derived from one seed. This is possible. And it does exist. Exodus (https://www.exodus.io/) is such a wallet.
But note that quite a few people have connection issues when using exodus. It also just had a vulnerability discovered which allowed an attacker to dump the private keys out of the RAM once the wallet was opened. I am not sure about which versions are affected.

The ledger nano s does also support multiple cryptocurrencies. And in addition to that the private keys (and the seed generation) are secured by a secure element and a 2-FA through the buttons/screen.
Once they release their native application, you will be able to monitor all your holdings in a dashboard.

I think this is not possible one for safety reason because personally i always has to create different wallet for each transactions also with every other altcoin that I join into. I do this to avoid hacking or getting scammed.

mayve in the future someone will creat that ultimate all in one wallet that you can store all of your tokens and that woyld be awedome for us investors

im pretty sure it could be either spectre or meltdown i forgot which is it, both of them are really dangerous antivirus wont be able to find them you wouldn't even know that you got attacked if you do get attack once you check your bank account its already empty. its not the version its the cpu not all cpu's are affected by this even on phones this threat exist.

Crypto wallet specially altcoins wallet ERC20 wallet is specially all cryptocurrency wallet. Bitcoin wallet is coinbase platform and all crypto wallet ERC20 platform.

It is only a good concept if possible to make a project like this because if this will be possible then it would be a revolutionary digital wallet for all cryptocurrency. As we all know that technology nowadays are really good and sometimes we could not go deeper on it and the only expert can tell us if this is possible. We are digital nowadays so there could be an application and i was thinking also of a conversion to all digital wallet who had been created will be connected and link together for a unified digital wallet. Meltdown and spectre is no malware. Those are vulnerabilities which allow to exploit the modern CPU architecture.

The vulnerability from exodus was caused by a vulnerability in the Electron protocol handler. This vulnerability (CVE-2018-1000006 (https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2018-1000006)) in the ElectronJS Framework could have been exploited to achieve a remote code execution.
This allowed an attacker to dump the private keys once exodus was opened.

I am working on a hardware wallet, we are testing it on the raspberry pi, and we are making the software to, with nice UI/UX and multiple accounts, for personal/group/business use. And with more features that we will support but it is only 2 of us right now working on that, with 0 capital. Finding capital after the wallet is finished will be not that hard :)

I'm going to say it again for bob123. Thought it's a good concept, it simply is not possible. You can have only one address for all ERC20 tokens, but nothing else. Most coins differ in architecture. It doesn't take an expert to know that this isn't possible. The best we could have is a wallet like exodus like bob123 said, whereas you use one recovery seed for all coins/tokens; which is good enough in my opinion. Why would you want one address for every single coin/token anyway? Though it may be more convenient, it's a huge privacy headache.

Well it's sure convenient to just using one address to contain all crypto,we don't have to create a separate wallet for each of them.But,in my opinion,like the term in trading,don't put all your egg in one basket.If there's a problem with that wallet,you'll lose all your crypto in one go.

"Putting all your eggs in one basket" fits more when talking about investing. But when talking about storing and securing your investments, "putting all your eggs in one basket" shouldn't be a problem. Even if your wallet gets some kind of problem, you're going to be fine as long as you've backed up your recovery seed; then you can access your funds through other wallet software.

suppose in future it is possible  to keep all the coins in one wallet even then I will suggest not to keep in one.  Different wallets should be used for different currency.
ERC 20 currencies can be stored in one such wallet but for others ; different wallets are required.

It is not an easy task develop one wallet for all cryptocurrency and tokens. Because different coins mean different blockchains. This blockchain uses different encryption mechanism and storing mechanisms. It is very difficult to build one global mechanism for all coins because of this reason. But we can build one wallet that has different sub wallet such as hardware wallet. Near future, that type of wallet will be famous than other wallets.

One way you could get around the fact that you can't have just one address for all crypto technically(as others have mentioned) is to just have an alias which contains all the addresses and have people on your network just send to each other by that alias.

That doesn't help for someone outside of your system wanting to send. But p2p within your network it could work I guess. Doesn't really solve much though.

there is a wallet that already have all this features you just mentioned maybe you have seen or heard of it. its called coinomi its available of android and IOS, you can download it and see for your self.

The great innovation and I support that innovation as long as the project you are developing will provide convenience and benefit to users of cryptocurrency. However, if the versatile wallet is launched, then the risk is very high so the security of the wallet is extra. Good luck  ;)

Is Coinomi available for computer? It would be inconvenient if you could only use your cell phone to hold all your money. Computer operations are easier.

Coinomi doesn't have a desktop wallet I think. I prefer doing all my stuff on a computer.

While it is bad storing all your money on your mobile, it is not safer to store them on a computer.
The biggest part of your holdings should always be held in cold storage. Whether on a paper wallet, air gapped PC or hardware wallet doesn't matter.

A hot wallet (regardless whether mobile or desktop) should always only hold small amounts which you can afford to lose.

I like your concept.It might be helpful but I dont know whether it is possible or not. If you able to do it than must think about the safety issues as it is a very important thing.

That would be nice but i think it would be dangerous if e only have one wallet for all specially when you forgot your security code. IT would still necessary for us to have different wallets. but if incase one can create your concepts it would be nice if and only if there are securities and other options when security code misplaced.

it is not recommended to use the same "address" for altcoins and bitcoin. there can be a lot of security issues in different altcoins and also there is always the problems concerning Address Reuse.

I still think exchange wallets are the best ones.

It is not possible to create one wallet address for all cryptocurrency because they have their own format, for example Bitcoin address starts with 1, 3 or bc1 if it is a segwit address while Ethereum addresses starts with 0x so how can you create an address that will function for all cryptocurrency if there are required format for each of any of them. It is only possible to create one wallet for all tokens created in Ethereum smart contracts which is already existing or any platform that is similar to Ethereum. What you can do is to create a wallet that supports almost all cryptocurrency you know but with different addresses, like coinomi and jaxx did.

Yes it is not an easy task to develop a wallet for all currencies and a cryptocurrency token. Because different coins mean different Blockchain. I am a new person who knows the bitcoin world. During my bitcoin world I only use some wallets to hold tokens from ERC20 like MEW. NEO and others. I do not know if there is a wallet that can accommodate as discussed this.

From my perspective i think it is not effective decision. Personally i use different wallet for different trades. I believe if all in one wallet it might be hack.

We already have such wallets - even blockchain.info wallet supports as BTC as ETH. At the same time there are a lot of other multicurrency wallets

I think It is very difficult to build one global mechanism for all coins because of this reason. But we can build one wallet that has different sub wallet such as hardware wallet. Near future, that type of wallet will be famous than other wallets.

Currently, there are lots of 3rd party wallets that support a variety of altcoin and tokens! But I usually use the core wallet from the developer to make sure it is safe and kept up to date!

Each crypto have its own digital address, so it is not possible, but there are some online digital wallets with many crypto inside, so each crypto have its own address. Plus also there are various offline wallets too.  :D

for now hardware wallet can be save all coin or token  , you can using TREZOR , NANO S , LEDGER for save your token or coin .
I recommended you for using hardware wallet for saving your token , because hardware wallet have more security more than wallet online.

Myetherwallet is the best ERC-20 wallet i mean all in one crypto digital wallet for only ERC-20 wallet.Other many wallets are exist in crypto platform but very few.Blockchain is real platform i think.

There may be a lot of technicalities for it to be done and somehow they stopped the project. Why?
How could you pull more investors with it to finance everything if you cant make it happen.
You will have to show them the future of it. Let them see it is possible then you can talk. Until now there is none and it is a good idea but a frequent one. So move on and think of something new.

There are possible to create one wallet address to cryopto include bitcoin but the question on your idea how you can sure the security of the coins or token storing in one wallet address. because the importance using wallet are the security of the investment.

That is a monumental project. Some ignoramus will say that it is impossible but I think Coinomi is the closest to creating an all in one wallet. If you want to create one your cookie cutter should be Coinomi.

AMON Wallet (AMN) is such an idea. They are developing and finishing on software and AI. I think, the value of this coin is quite close and it will be profitable very fast in the next period.

The logarithm of each coin is different, it is impossible to unite all the coins in one wallet.
token ERC20 why can save lot of tokens coins? The ERC20 is an ETH wallet and most token coins are under ETH coins and that is why ETH coins are now progressing.

It is not possible and it will never be to have one wallet and receiving address for every single cryptocurrency. There are cryptocurrencies which have different type of addresses which have different functionality. Also, one wallet wouldn't be secure. I prefer to use many wallets rather than depend on one software. I don't even trust hardware wallets completely.

It must be comfortable to use in a single address containing all crypto. We do not need to create wallets separately for each one but in the trade do not put all your eggs in one basket. If it's a problem with your dompe then you will lose all crypto instantly.  8)

Your goal is very wise and noble, this way of course makes it easy for all users both bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. So whatever deals with transactions all of us may no longer need to open a lot of sites because your site can serve everything All In One. Crypto wallet specially altcoins wallet ERC20 wallet is specially all cryptocurrency wallet. Bitcoin Wallet is the most prominent marketplace in the market and is known for its multiple uses and the most powerful wallets.

It is basically the 'all eggs in one basket' problem. But i partially disagree with this.

While it makes sense to spread out the risk, it does NOT make sense to NOT use the most secured option to store your coins.
So, if you have a setup which is the most secured of all of your setups, i would store ALL coins there. I would NOT store a few there and a few on an online pc, only to have them spread.

If you do have a secure offline setup, use it. It is more secured than a web-/mobile-/desktop- wallet.


You should also note that different wallets are not enough to spread the risk if they are all running on the same machine.
You would have to use different setup's to accomplish spreading the funds/wallets properly.

Well, making a wallet to hold several coins including ERC20, Bitcoin, Steem etc seems impossible although with technology everything seems possible. Remember, each coin has it's own Blockchain and smart contract upon which it is built. Perhaps you can think of a wallet holding multiple private keys to different coin addresses.

Even if you could do it, it's better to have a bit of profit spread, just in case one day they come to hack your wallet. And yes, a lot of them have different codes.

It's hard to make a wallet and not just easy. And I have seen many similarities in your mind. So I think that you will have a hard time fulfilling it. But just keep what you like and hope you can do it. I'm here to support you. And hopefully you have a unique idea because the wallets are almost exactly the same as today. That would not be possible because most of the cryptocurrency have their own blockchain and putting all of these cryptocurrencies on one wallet is not feasible unless some genius just pop up and come up with a way to do this but i also think it is safer if we have all of them being independent to ensure full security other than trying to merge all of them.

It is good to have a universal wallet for all coins. But I think it would be risky, and opening wallets can exposed your private keys. So in generally I think it is way better to hold coins on many wallet for storage.

Harmonization is a good idea but your concept is unrealizable due to different address format of different blockchains.
Also, this could bring increased vulnerability and lead to numerous successful hack attacks.

This is just like saying all your monies in one bank. Given the 2008 financial crises, you can see how that was a very risky idea. Just as people are advised to spread their portfolio when investing, I will advise spread across with whom you save or keep your money/asset. Given the special keys to which you need to access crypto wallets, it is even more riskier to do this. Once those keys are lost, all your money is gone. With banks, at least they can recover your funds if you loose your password etc. because they have done KYC on you.

Yes this is possible because it could be programmed directly linking from exchange to exchange. This means that there could be automatic conversion on from one crypto to another crypto and since most of the crypto are ERC 20 supported tokens then it could be easier for these coins to converted to eth and eth to bitcoin. It could be process and it will look like that there is one digital wallet for all the altcoins and for bitcoins.

No one uses ALL cryptocurrencies, so what’s the point of making all-in-one wallet? Isn’t it better to create customizable wallet, where the user is able to add those currencies that he/she uses. And don’t forget about enhanced safety for multi-currency wallet.

Really bro if u can make a Digital wallet then its good for every person who want to store their coins, in these days hardware wallet like trezor giving facility peoples can store their coins and access any where when they want now this is a good option. if digital wallet launch also this is the good option for peoples but its take time and and money.

The problem will be only the address and the blockchain that they are using.

Hi! I think that it doesn't matter what time and money it takes when someone is attracted by any idea. Remeber great film "Inception"? It's just question of security. Safe things often can't be useful, and it's main problem, imho.

I think that is great that there will be a instant wallet wherein all coins are available wherein it gives a really great convenience for the users or investors and that thing is really really awesome to happen.

I think it is already exist, one wallet with all cryptocurrency. Even with all the erc20 tokens, you can add a news token later.
You can find many wallet already have features like that. But i think it is more safer if you own your own wallet than the online wallet.

I like the idea of having one wallet for all but merging bitcoin, altcoins and other alts to have same wallet address is unlikely to happen. They have differences that can't be merged and that's the easiest way to understand it.

I think this is not possible that one wallet will hold all types of cryptocurrency and alt coin but if it happens it will be really great.

A wallet should be like that, we just need to use 1 wallet that can store many currencies on it.
I think coinbase is a good all in 1 wallet, you can use it on your phone easily.
Creating a multiple currency wallet is not easy, you will have to maintain the security very good.
