He actually said : '' There is a very strong correlation between the price of XRP and that of Bitcoin. But these are essentially independent open-source technologies. »
The man is convinced that we are now witnessing the emergence of a much more rational market. As a result, the behaviour of investors will be permanently altered, which will lead to a devaluation of Bitcoin. Therefore, it will no longer serve as a reference to other crypto-currencies.

For me i Believe the other way around, if bitcoin will continue to go a downhill trend so as other altcoind will follow in the long run. Yes intially i think the altcoin will rise in the fall of bitcoin because investors will seek another alternative investments but surely if the mother of all cryptocurrency will degrade i believe all the more the reason that other altcoins will follow the same lead.

Agree with you, I believe this market is build this much because of Bitcoin. so if bitcoin falls investors can think why they need to make them self at risk. why investors need to trust on altcoins if their lead was fallen.

In any case, he is mostly just promoting his coin and is in some way, creating a FUD in bitcoin. Moreover, generalky speaking, almost all crypto-enthusiasts and investors has their money on bitcoin. Even newbies and those who are not involved in any community related with cryptocurrency knows bitcoin and only wants to invest on it. Butcoin is so much overrated that makes it so difficult to take down.

I don't think this is possible. The whole market is dependent on bitcoin and still the market is judged by the price of bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin goes down the price of altcoins except few falls too and we have witnessed it earlier.

I have always been against the fact that altcoins are dependent of the bitcoin. I never thought about the altcoins in this way and always made decision independent of the bitcoin prices. Altcoins are completely different project who works on their own and develop their own atmosphere where number of investors also are different. This way it gives us idea that how that atlcoin may get its prices in the future. No matter what happens, bitcoin and altcoins go down at the sam time because that is just the global effect and nothing much. I think CEO of XRP is looking after his projects dominance but that doesnt really maters as whatever he speaks is relabel info.

I agree with your statement that ultimately altcoin will follow the bitcoin movement. When the bitcoin price drops, the price of some altcoin rises but in a short time, then it will come back down trailing against bitcoin.

Though from my own point of view i see this as a treat to Bitcoin as the Mother of all coins. In regard to this statement credited to a CEO does will not go down well with cryptocurrency ethics. If Bitcoin goes down as the Mother of all coins, other coins will follow with immediate effect. May we not experience such that will turn the whole world of cryptocurrency for a doom.

It would be more or less worthy of our attention, if it had been said by Buterin or someone like him, but Brad? Are you serious? The only thing he wants to achieve by saying that is people losing their faith in bitcoin. Of course, any altcoin should have ambitions to become a better version of its predecessor by making the crypto world more convenient and decentralised, but ripple team does absolutely opposite things - it tries to get you back to your bank.

I think it is not proven, you can use the following simple formula:
btc ride altcoin down
btc down altcoin down
btc stable altcoin up

As long as bitcoin live altcoins is not goes to up and lead bitcoin. As far as I know when bitcoin increase altcoins increase and when bitcoin decrease altcoins decrease too. Therefore altcoins is not the basis of price in crypto but it is bitcoin.

I think this is the right formula to think about this trend. I mean it is true most of the time that whenever bitcoin starts up surges then altcoins fall a little as most of the people start to invest their altcoins into the bitcoin. When bitcoin is going down then no one trust the crypto sphere and thus every coin looks like upset and starts moving down. When it comes to stability of the bitcoin then everyone think that it is secure to invest into the crypto currency. So this is like trusting the bitcoin for all the needs and depending upon that deciding what exactly altcoins might do next.

Bitcoin is the market leader and altcoin is the follower. In recent times altcoin moving over bitcoin it’s true. But i think altcoin can’t compete with bitcoin. Because we believe bitcoin is far ahead from altcoin.

Basically this news is not fully authentic because if the price of btc Is decreases then how it is still in the 1st place based on this the price of altcoin is up but btc still in their place because of their main price also its good news for alt coins user because really they are offering such good facilities to their customers.

Such situations are very rare, since the BTC falls and all other coins are falling, only some can grow at such a drop, but these are very small and this is not always the case.

In our opinion, in time more and more altcoins will stand out from the rest and can become independent in the following years. Those coins are mainly the PoS coins, as we believe, PoW coins will fall behind as their disadvantages are a lot more than their advantages and people will see that sooner or later. Their power right now is that people have already invested in mining rigs and don't want to admit the downward spiral as that would mean their investment will become worthless as well. I don't know what you are talking about man because what I am seeing is a red market where all the coins including Bitcoin and the altcoins are in red. This might be due to the recent hack on Coinrail. Most of the coins have decreased by more than 5% and I don't see any Altcoin in green. The BTC dominance is still there in the market which is why it is still on the top and I prefer it to remain the same way.

For now, most altcoins are still affected by price of bitcoin. Only just now that I had really observed, Litecoin cash stand on its own while most of the other coins and tokens falll by close to 10-20% or so.

Litecoin cash is undervalue and it shows that the new altcoins with better technology, are in time, unaffected by the bitcoin raise or fall.

But we like to ride the wave when bitcoin rise, so sometimes we have to accept it when it falls.

Wow is this really true? I have seeing crypto market now with the marketcap volume and there is a major fall down on bitcoin. it reach to 6K again and it is so hard to identify if we will going to invest again or not. People could expect also like just because of the recent happenings and that is a major rollback with bitcoin market price. So altcoin could go higher than bitcon depending on its use and demand.

I would not really rely so much on someone who is a centralized freak with a fishy project's word. We may say some of the altcoins get beaten badly by the movement of bitcoin, but simply because they have no support and all that they are is just nothing but speculative coins with no products and it is obvious that those with huge support and products are doing pretty well till date when compared to historical price, since they are not just some pump and dump shit coins. Except for few, most of the coins in the market are shit coins with no real community or value, so putting the whole thing on bitcoin's dominance is absurd.

I don't believe in any prediction from any people anymore especially predictions of famous people in this world :)). It'll be fine if you're a just a normal guy but famous people's predictions will affect to crypto market so hard. The less bitcoin becomes the gateway to alternative coins the less bitcoin will have an affect on ALL coins.  However, for now, the mental association that if bitcoin fails, we all fail... well that belief is still in tact despite all the merits of existing coins.  I'm not sure how long it will take to outgrow that false mentality but many believe it takes three generations of humanity for such fallacies to die.  That could be anywhere from 60 to 100 years.  

But I think it will be faster than that because big exchanges like coinbase and Gemini will add more and more "alt" coins to there direct fiat exchange.  That is, the more that fiat cash can be exchanged for alt coins other than btc/eth/ltc..etc etc... the more the price of alts will be less affected by the price movements of those bigger coins (btc eth ltc etc...etc)

There's definitely a connection between bitcoin and our beloved alts. Its because its a constant shift of funds if you are a trader. There's no secret that when investors are just moving their investments to where the money is. So I don't think that there will be a complete independence between the two. Usually though, altcoins rose during the month of December, but you need to be very vigilant, because most pump groups choose coins one at a time, so just watch and observe what coins are starting to move and join the wave and get out and take your profits.

Talking about BITCOIN down altcoin up is not suppose to be a topic base on my own personal opinion. we won't be expecting same thread always while BTC up ALts down and BTC down Alts down. It's a natural phenomenon while investors would surely seek for other options while BTC is not doing well and that would surely pump the price of ALTS in the market too

When bitcoin goes up, the altcoins are going down. When bitcoin goes down then altcoins go down and only when bitcoin is in the flat then altcoins go up. The same people who are causing the market to come down in altcoins and the same making it come down in bitcoin and those are the whales which the traders obviously respond to those movements in a way.

If you notice, most times bitcoin is in consolidation, the altcoin market is always known to do well and anytime we get to see a huge rise or fall, then every other market responds. It is just like inflow and outflow of cash and that mentality has kicked in for a while now, with most traders opting out of altcoin, once bitcoin is in a downtrend until further notice.

I noticed a different trend entire, because most of the altcoins i am holding are also experiencing downtrend, just as bitcoin is also experiencing presently. Although, i am still on the watch to see if there will be correction on the altcoins i am holding.

I think not all Altcoin go up when bitcoin down, only a small part of Altcoin is up when bitcoin down, it could be pumped by big investors or coinmakers, bitcoin is still dominating cryptocurency market.

Bitcoin is no doubt a key coin and that the market greatly depends on the market value of the bitcoin as most of the investors make their decision by looking at the market price of the bitcoin. Right now, it is not only bitcoin whose market value is low. Ripple is centralized cryptomodel. Many crypto users actually don't like the coin. Ripple is strong because suported by big whale of bankers. They use ripple because ripple is suit to the banks model. Banks can control bitcoin that is why most bankers will never stop spreading FUD among the bitcoin users and investors. Yeah it may happen, but we all do not know what can happen eventually in the future. If we get to see more altcoin/fiat trading pair, and the sentiments about seeing the altcoin market dump in cases where btc is getting dumped, then we may actually start seeing the mindset of traders changing and that is what matters anyway but for now, nothing is guaranteed.
