I do not understand what happened to some altcoins, I know that when correction, red altcoin dominates the crypto market.

but when the bitcoin correction, there is still altcoin that has increased and rises significantly.
 
what factors make altcoin rise when bitcoin falls?

Altcoins are tradable for BTC so when I sell bitcoin for that altcoin, there is more demand for the altcoin I'm trying to get and less for bitcoin because I'm fulfilling somebody else demand.

Not every altcoin rise whenever Bitcoin price fall. On my experience what i see every dip in Bitcoin most altcoins are also falling. I think the reason is because Bitcoin is use by most alt coin for pairing in exchange.

The crypto market lives according to the laws of the usual market-if the demand for one product increases,then the demand for another decreases, respectively, the same happens with the price.

There's so many different alts these days that I don't think you can really boil it down to looking at it as just alt vs Bitcoin. That is if you're looking for specific reasons that would cover all alts. If you narrow it down to more specifics then it might be easier to learn more about how the market works in that regard.

bitcoin down means altcoins down. it has always been like this and will be like this for many years to come until the altcoins change for real alt-coins not virtual useless tokens.

what you are confusing with this is the fact that some random small altcoins may get pumped even during a downtrend. that has nothing to do with your title though! it is just a pumper pumping some shitcoin that you have not even heard the name before they pumped it.

I think the rise happening to some altcoins even if bitcoin is in the red mark is because of the demand of that altcoin in exchange of bitcoin. Whenever an altcoin increases its price, it means that more people are buying that altcoin in exchange to some other tokens, so this means that bitcoin being traded for other çoins lessen the demand of bitcoin but rather increases the demand of that coin being traded of bitcoin. This is the reason why some altcoins still remain in green mark even if bitcoin is in its red mark.

This statement was also in my mind, of course, the demand will make altcoin pump and maybe this company was pumping their coins price during a downtrend as what like the post above of mine stating.
Remember altcoin is just altcoin and it is not the same with bitcoin, so if there is keep bumping coins while market cap is red I am sure there is somebody makes their price expensive while the market was a decrease, and that is a marketing strategy to the

Not only bitcoin is down, but altcoin too. If bitcoin down, automatically altcoin is down.

Not all altcoins though. The raising altcoins are the ones which have made major impacts or changes immediately before the dips. And besides, during the dips most especially bitcoin dip, it sometimes affects some altcoins if the coin is a good project, many investors use that opportunity to stuck up their wallet. This makes the altcoins to rise even when there is a general dump.

Most of us buy bitcoin then exchange with altcoin. Imagine if you have 2000$ of bitcoin and you are going to buy 2000$ dogecoin by echanging. But suddenly, the price drops and you have 1500$ only, you will need to buy with a lower price.

usually the trend is that dipping bitcoin also causes the decline of other altcoins. There might be some exceptions because of launching the products etc, but in general you're wrong.

A lot of Alt coins are traded through to Bitcoin, so if the Alt coin price is high, then people will start selling to take profits and

you will see a decline in the Alt coin price and a increase in the Bitcoin price. Some Alt coins are not sold directly on mayor

exchanges, so people sell Alt coins and convert to BTC or to Fiat on the mayor exchanges. It is not always like that, but in

IMO, one reason is because of money flowing from btc to alts, this market is still a young and small one, and small enough to be manipulated by Organizations, whales, even sharks,... And another reasons is because of exchange rate differences.
But not all the time it happens like you mentioned, There're times BCT down, and almost all the ALTs are down too, that's still because of the 1st reason i just gave you, all the money are being pulling out of the markets! There're lots of causes to consider, but I think these 2 are the biggest ones, especially the 1st one.

which is confusing with this is the fact that some small random altcoins can be pumped even during a downtrend. that has nothing to do with your degree! it's just an oil pump that pumps some shitcoin you've never heard of before they pump it. I think all coins are always changing according to the size of the market demand for sales and demand for the coin

I don't think it really works like that in reality. The total market cap of all crypto, Bitcoin included definitely can go down and be drawn down by both alts and BTC if we're talking about total USD market cap.

One of the reason is that people who make an investment in Bitcoin move their investment to other altcoins, usually alt coins will rise when the Bitcoin price stable because people make their investment to alt coins. But, when Bitcoin price down maybe can make some alt coins price very high

I think all altcoin are based on bitcoin as a source of comparison. So essentially making bitcoin prices up then altcoin prices also rise, and make bitcoin prices down altcoin prices also fell.

People now substitutes bitcoin with altcoins ,hence you will see them selling their bitcoins for altcoins that is valuable. While naturally bitcoin fall should bring other coins down,these altcoins that have traders buying become stronger rather.

Doesn't mean that bitcoin is in a low state bitcoin is already down. its just that the value of the bitcoin today is falling and rising. Altcoin today is just indemand because of the bitcoins down state.

Usually the majority of alts are red as the overall market falls but some get pumped or have an event during that session and do rise but this rise can`t be supportive as after some days they do fall again.

I think when bitcoin prices drop not all altcoin prices up, only a few coins are the price up, maybe it could be pumped by big investors who have much capital, but that often happens in the market when bitcoin drop all altcoin will follow red .

I think not all altcoin prices goes up when bitcoin falls down because there are altcoins who are depending on bitcoin's price. When the bitcoin price is high, there are altcoins increases too. Bitcoin is volatile as well as altcoins. I think altcoin price is dependent on bitcoin price because it is usually used as a trading pair in most exchanges. As you can see right now when bitcoin dived down the whole market turns red as well.

In my observation, everytime bitcoin undergo bearish market, most of the altcoins will follow and that is what usually happened in the  cryptomarket. I think the rise of some altcoin when btc is on dip could have been just a minor case but in most cases altcoins usually go down trend for every bearish market of bitcoin.

Well it looks like Bitcoin down and altcoins down too.  Btc is the leader.  However it moves the crypto market moves relatively as well.  

I think the price increase of some altcoin will not last long because based on the experience that often happens there is never any from altcoin that does not follow the bitcoin price movement. So even though there is an increased altcoin price movement but in the end it will still follow the bitcoin price movement.

I think short term investors and traders will opt to shift from bitcoin to alts when btc value goes down, to gain good profits. That is why when btc is down, alt coins goes up or will rise. It all depends on your investing strategy to have a good and profitable income.

i think that is not true. Bitcoin now has falling in the market, not only bitcoin but many altcoins too.
usually after the falling market, they will be bounced back to correct the falling price later.

Alt coins are also convertible to bitcoin and you can buy alt coins through bitcoin. So it does not mean people are substituting bitcoin with alt. Cryptomarket is currently unstable. Not only bitcoin. Even other alt goes down. We cannot justify something just because you can see that bitcoin is falling and some alt were not.

The price determines the demand and transaction of one coin. If the transaction and high and the demand is also high, then the value will increase. There are more trading transactions in altcoins right now than Bitcoin. People are avoiding to dump their bitcoin that's why there is very low transaction in Bitcoin.

In my opinion, i think it is normal because the market is volatile. Today bitcoin is decreasing and altcoin is increasing but it is not permanent state. It is on you on how to deal with the uncertain of the crytocurrency market.

Yeah that's what happens in the market today. almost all cryptocurrencies have fallen in price. bitcoin is very influential on the crypto market. if the bitcoin price falls. of course all altcoin will experience the same thing as now. but sometimes it happens when bitcoin prices decrease. and the price of an altcoin rises. but that is rare

No, Mostly what happens in the crypto market is when the bitcoin is falling most of the altcoins are also falling this is what we have noticed.

Base on my knowledge the common reason why some of alt coin value is increasing when bitcoin is falling, it is because some holders from bitcoin always jumping into alts, which is to gain profits while bitcoin is suffering on bearish .and opposite will happen if bitcoin stabilize along with other alt that suffer as well during the bear market.

Something to also consider is that when you see some altcoins going up while all other coins are in the red then one of the reasons could also be due to market manipulation by the various pump n dump groups that are operating.

When you see a really weak altcoin all of a sudden spiking in the green while most of the market is in the red then it's a good chance there is a pump going on.

I think that when the price of bitcoin falls, the altcoin price also falls because altcoin is connected to bitcoin so bitcoin price should not fall so the price of bitcoin can not be dropped so losers altcoin holders are losing because with the drop bitcoin but we just do not get mad at it do not panic and do not sell altcoin we just hold it until bitcoin increases or we lose our losses

Its probably possible depend upon the altcoin value and its project all altcoin in exchange using bitcoin so less chance to down bitcoin.

sometimes it's not like that. never happens when bitcoin down, altcoin also down. when bitcoin rises, altcoin remains down. when bitcoin is stable, altcoin rises. not always bitcoin down, altcoin also down. but why it happens often, because there are many factors, maybe because of bad news about bitcoin, or many who sell bitcoin, or something else. but the decline in bitcoin prices often happens every day.

I think this is not constant, but sometimes it happens that when Bitcoin drops, some altcoins rise. And when bitcoin rise, most altcoins drops and few rises. Its just about demand, supply, news and events surrounding the altcoin or pump action by whales.

People trade altcoin to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin looks like it is moving slowly because btc has experienced a high price rise and it suddenly falls, while altcoin is just for pumping and then dies.

So this means that the distribution of altcoin is very concentrated.

Of course altcoins is tradable to BTC. And it has more demand in the market. But as we all know, BTc is thr mother of all altcoins.

Not every altcoin, There are only a few altcoins are pumping now. Because they got a new exchange, they got new investors and something like this. But after one or two days later, those altcoins will follow the rest of the altcoins. When bitcoin is down, that means total crypto market downs. I have seen this strategy every month of 2018, after January.

I have observed that even in the case of correction, investors are not willing to cash out their capital from crypto and hence they move their capital into the cryptocurrency which is less volatile. This might be the primary reason for the price rise of alt-coins when Bitcoin falls. There are some other factors too.

This is actually normal because people nd investors would always look for alternative altcoin to invest to while the price of bitcoin is on the down hill.  This is the reason why other altcoins are on the rise once bitcoin's price is falling.

I do strongly belief that altcoins being created have their initial purpose to fulfill; especially the ones with the real course for the future. I will make use of the Docademic as an example which has a project to do with health. We all know the importance and relevance of health; health is wealth and life too. So, a project that has come with a real impact on health improvement will certainly grow and make it into the future too. No wonder it skyrocketed recently even when the markets were red and it is still above its ICO price as at today!

What I think is a simple logic,If Bitcoin goes down people start to take there money out from it and then they start looking for an alternative,now that the alts have show some capability, investors have started changing their thinking and they started to look for the alts as well.And that has given the alts the required push that will make them to stand in the market.Probably that is the reason why alts are not going down with Bitcoin.

The ones that rise when bitcoin falls are the altcoins that are pumped for some reason. And the rest are the ones that has much buying demand at that time because of a project announcement.

For the past weeks, I observed the behaviour of some coins in relation to btc and I realised that once Btc goes red, almost all coins go red. But the case is different for some few coins like docademic. But as soon as the market tris to revive, docademic will instead go red. I didn't understand why bit I think I now get it. There are new coins that has higher price and the popular coins drops the price because new coins are gaining popularity and attracts the investors in the market. To have chance for the huge profit after the ICO so that many are going to use the develop project because they see how successful it comes. The price of the new coin in the market depend on how success it is during its development.

it depends on how the major holders react to the dip.People gets scared and begin to panic sell everything they hold(including the alts).Thus the alts go down too.
But if an alt is new and the  majority of the holders are intelligent investors then they will react differently.So the market will reflect only the price it deserves.And won't be pulled down with btc.

This is not even the case for only 5 percent of the altcoins. But it is a good thing that it happens and that means the altcoins lose their dependence from Bitcoin. Then Bitcoin will come into fate as time goes on and other coins can take Bitcoin's kingdom.

Some altcoins do not seem too affected by the condition and fate of bitcoin. Usually altcoin has good stability and a good team because it can make it unaffected by bitcoin. But there is also an explanation to me that altcoin is indeed difficult to predict and can not always be avoided or unaffected by the condition of bitcoin.

The bull market is the result of supply-demand. When supply exceeds demand, prices decrease and vice versa. Altcoin or Bitcoin too. Although Altcoin is traded under Bitcoin, it does not mean that prices will fluctuate with Bitcoin.

From my perspective i see most of altcoins are in red right now, even the most popular altcoins. There all in red, the reason why they're all going down as well. Is that bitcoin is falling and all altcoins depends on the price of bitcoin as they're source or back up. When it comes to FUD most people convert they're altcoin to btc.

indeed bitcoin is a coin that becomes a barometer for altcoin, but if the bitcoin price falls but some altcoin rises,
- first reason: it could have been making a breakthrough from a team of developers either launching in a new exchange or a new product
- the second reason: it could be a coin of the community / or already controlled by a large community that can play around the price because of the low supply and the cheap term "dump n pump" coins and this is very risky for those who do not know about the coin.
- and the last reason the coin rises when bitcoin down is a new coin release on the market, because the project from his dev is successful then the price soars high

I don't know where is your data came from because i have already observed many times that every time Bitcoin will falls the whole market will in dip too then if Bitcoin will bounce back it will be the same with the Altcoins just like a domino epic. Try to read more news and update because it might mislead your investments. The event that goes like this bitcoin down and altcoin rise , this is the product of volatility of coins happenning in the marketplace in the digital world, it may happen that bitcoin will fall sometimes but the other altcoin will also be rising, because of the supply and demand in the coin market , this event would really be happenning in the cryptoworld.

Huh? Are you sure about that op? I dont think that can possibly happen because i always notice that when btc is down alts are also down because they are both connected to each other. and as of now i still see a red market of all of the cryptos including btc and alts..


The main reason why all cryptos are down is because of the lesser demand that they get from the public and also because some countries are banning crypto related service such as exchanges and mining .

bitcoin down it makes near whole market down together BTC but there are some altcoin rise but some altcoin is very few,the rate rise/fall is  very low,i think this is not fair for alt coin when all coin so depend on BTC,i hope there are so many coin can grow up and share effect of BTC with market,it make crypto market is more fair

Well in my opinion, it totally depends upon the demand and supply . All altcoins are tradeable against bitcoins. If you want to buy more altcoins then you have to sell bitcoins . That is only reason , both prices are contradict.

I also do not really know the reason why when altcoin rises bitcoin down. This bitcoin has to ride following altcoin in the market and I also do not know behind the big investor market, please tell how it can happen ?? whether this follows the dollar or part of the world's stock

it seems that just fishing means many big players and have a lot of capital that manipulates the price at the exchange but if altcoin price goes up maybe the product created is very useful.

That's right there are some altcoins are being manipulated by the owner, by controlling the demand and supply that makes it expensive even the market is having a bloodbath. I don't trust those altcoins has a new launch in CMC it might be having manipulation just to pump up their coins. In my own belief, it's better to invest altcoins those in top 10 pretty assure that is really profitable and no manipulation even bitcoin was down.

Day by day price will be change now bitcoin is low after few month alt coin is low so it will be change and depend on crypto market. I am happy to get some buy bitcoin now bitcoin price is so much low now you can buy some bitcoin after few month it will be 2X or 3X profit from this bitcoin.

Usually atcoins follows bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin falls the price of altcoins also falls. It is true in current market too but there are some exceptions. I think few exceptions are natural in thousands of altcoins.

It's not true. Altcoin prices are heavily dependent on BTC. Look what's happening in the market now. Show me which one of the tokens has been on the decline of BTC?

when the bitcoin price falls there is a possibility the altcoin price goes up to add bitcoin or wait for the bitcoin price to rise again altcoin is the solution

Fair comment this and I would echo it's sentiments. It can't just be down to the price of BTC, there's soo many other altcoins, there is a lot more to the rise and fall of them individually.

Well my take on this is simple, law of demand and supply. In my  opinion i think some altcoins moves faster than bitcoin thats why as you can see in the market the price of bitcoin is dropping and altcoins price is increasing. But all altcoins is not increase .  It is also depends on the activity of a particular coins why they rise.

I do think most times when an altcoin newly gets into the market, they do tend to still have their independent price fluctuations. I think the rise happening to some altcoins even if bitcoin is in the red mark is because of the demand of that altcoin in exchange of bitcoin. Whenever an altcoin increases its price, it means that more people are buying that altcoin in exchange to some other tokens, so this means that bitcoin being traded for other çoins lessen the demand of bitcoin but rather increases the demand of that coin being traded of bitcoin.

be to compare Bitcoin and just one alt-coin. If many people sell Bitcoins to buy certain alt-coin, price
of Bitcoin will drop and that alt-coin will rise. Multiply that with so many alt-coins, and Bitcoin owners,

I don't think that's what the market is now considering the current situation of the market. Some altcoins are up and others are down but the mother coin is down yeah.

Basically it's a decisions made by a trade, who seems to have some diversions over their asset. They still hold bitcoins but eventually invest on some altcoins, so we notice btc price declines. However this current scenario doesn't matter because time after time both btc and alts will increase in parallel situations.

It is a surprise to me that altcoins are rising whlist Bitcoin falls, as the trend of altcoins always depend on Bitcoin. Maybe it is just a one off thing and it will be back to how it is meant to be the next day.

Many factors can be deduced from the rise of up Altcoin but I don't really understand if that happens. I only refer if Bitcoin rises, the price of other Altcoins will increase.

I think your statement altcoin will still rice even bitcoin is down is not correct or a wrong statement. Why? It is because everything that happens to bitcoin will also happen to altcoin. It is because in elder for someone to have an altcoin, he needed first to have bitcoin and eventually converting his bitcoin to his wanted altcoin. That is why it is very impossible for altcoin to rise even though bitcoin is going through its bad times. It actually due to last 4 months bitcoin price is stuck, so many people got bored with bitcoin. So they are moving into altcoin, that's why we see the price is increasing almost all altcoin, however, once bitcoin get strong, altcoin price will fall.

I actually do not see a signify rise in altcoin price especially when bitcoin is rising, with just a few altcoins has such qualities but with that they usually do not stay increase for long. Btc has some control over most altcoins and definitely follow suit when prices go down or rise.

This simply happens because people are responsive to the price movement and as they react to gain from either side that's considered to move upwards, the market then find a balance until their is a common equilibrium. That's why BTC and Alts don't usually move upward together especially during a very steepy move otherwise both could just move gradually together

Just like if bitcoin’s price raises then altcoin will surely raise too. Everything that raise will raise together if it falls the other will fall together and nothing unaffected when bitcoin fall.

Perhaps you were right. I guess it depends on the project, if that project have been raised a huge amount or reach their hardcap then we can say that this alts will be profitable. However, few only of them have raised a good amount and most of alts ate connected to bitcoin hence if bitcoin is down most of alts are down as well.

It's because of the trust issues recently people are facing, its one of the reason is Pyramid Scam which is not true but it made people in discussion and disturbed on the side of bitcoin.

I think because there are many factors, maybe because of bad news about Bitcoin, or many who sell Bitcoin, or something else. But the decline in Bitcoin prices often happens every day. This is a strategy for the main players who mislead newcomers.

But sometimes there are some altcoins that won't go with the flow or could scrimmage the trend. But this could happen only in a short period of time. Did anyone else notice that in the last 2 days over $35 Million in Bitcoin have been transfered to Bitfinex, Bitflyer, and Bittrex. All from just 6 individual transactions, with each one being over $6 Million.

It's possible that this is short covering. If I wanted to short a bunch of Bitcoin, I mean a whole bunch, I'd work out OTC agreements with the exchanges since they have the most corn.

Edit: if it is short covering, they have a whole lot more to cover. That dump at the beginning of September involved mass quantities of Bitcoin.
