You can motivate if your project is great to invest in. Good price in the future to earn big if that coin will success. Great team and good partnership can motivate investor to invest in money, just make it real and believable.

I barely invest on ICOs nowadays due to a lot of fake/scams and useless projects and also hate those new rules implemented by others which is KYC, of course you don't just give personal information on a non regulated type of investment. But don't get me wrong, investing on ICOs are still profitable only if you will be able to find a project/s that has that potential, have its own uniqueness and of course has a real product that can possibly implemented in the real world, but the truth is it is so hard to find that kind of startup projects right now because there are lots of ICOs that only copying other previous projects saying that they offer better but really not, and I see that most (not) of these companies are just aiming to earn fast money.

What I saw with the investors to ICOs is that they are getting motivated when they saw someone on the team which is reliable and came from an experienced team before and made their latest project a success. That's why there are ICOs that becomes crowded if they saw some popular dev is part of the team.
