I have seen multiple threads where this guy is trying to sell his domain and gift cards and such, he is a scammer straight up.

His name is Matthew Vacanti and here is his picture http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ivjxfD-rj94/Sb7lKEE-54I/AAAAAAAAABs/6hIggGAF1ng/S220/IMG00111.jpg

He works at the Walmart Tire and Lube Express in East Syracuse NY tel: (315) 434-9873

heres what happened.

I PM'd him and said that I need a Godaddy gift card for $10, he gives me the amount and the a BTC address, he says that as soon as he receives the coins he will send me the card. I told him I needed this card right away. He said he would send it as soon as the coins confirm and then of course he disappeared.

Well unlucky for this scammer we live locally to eachother (like 30 mins away) I found his blog and found out who he is and where he works.

So I called his work and spoke to him, he told me some bullshit about how he didnt really have the gift card but he was buying it from some other site
and that site was taking too long. He said he would either send me the card or the coins when he gets back from work.

Then when he gets home he says he cannot get ahold of the person who he supposedly is buying this giftcard from and that he for some reason does not have my coins anymore.

This does not sound very good from a person who was operating a Bitcoin Site that Sold Gift Cards (thebitcardstore.com)

So now he says if I go to his work tomarrow to ask him for my money he is going to have me arrested.

I told him that is fine, if he cannot get the gift card or the coins tonight I will simply stop by his work tomarrow and he can give me cash and this ugly situation will be behind us.

He replies by saying that if I come to his work he will have me arrested.

It appears that he is refusing to send my coins back. I will keep this thread updated as to what happens after I stop by his work tomorrow.
*************
edit: after much pressure from myself and the bitcoin community he paid me back my coins. If your interested in a story of betrayal, walmart, furries, and possibly multiple personalities than please go ahead and read this thread. If such things do not interest you maybe you should move on.

Here is his side of the conversation. Sorry I do not have my side as it is not saved my default. But you get the idea of what happened here.

I know what you mean actually.
I'm waiting for the coins to confirm, and when they do I'll send the code.

please. If you do not have that card tonight. Just send me the coins tonight. I am sorry if I was wrong about you but I hope you can understand I felt like you were trying to rip me off. I really do not want this to get any uglier so lets handle this like gentlemen and do the right thing. Thank you. I will expect coins or card tonight.

well that's going to be a problem, see.. I don't have $10 cards so I ordered a code through a site that said I'd have the code by this evening and I don't. I 'd refund you the coins but I don't have them anymore. All I can ask is to sit tight and let this site process. Rest assured though I'm trying every way to get ahold of the owner of the site to work this out.

First guess, he's buying the card from spend bitcoins The transaction is taking forever (18h when I bought a Godaddy card from there) and he has no idea how to handle having neither bitcoin nor gift code when there's a customer complaint.

You're lovely for pointing out your views.

I don't think I would want my PR rep calling people tards. And I definitely would want them competent in high school grammar.

That's just me, though. I am sure your CEO wants you to call people archaic and offensive terms while exhibiting a poor grasp of the english language all the time.

I fixed it for you, I hope me responding to you, the spelling police, fills the loneliness you have.

I type quickly to convey thoughts and ideas.

Spelling mistakes are of little concern to me when typing with brevity.

I have a strong command of the english language when I choose to take the time to spell it out to the spelling police.

So please..

Get off your high horse. lighten up.

Maybe instead of pointing out trivial follies of others, you could be useful to the community.

This guy is turning out to be one of the most entertaining people on these forums.

His site was hilariously pathetic, but it doesn't stop there! Not only did he not have prices in BTC, not only did he charge more for cards than they were actually worth, not only did he spend a whole half an hour making his site, not only did he blame the Bitcoin community for him being pathetic, the whole time he was merely acting as trying to be an intermediary between the buyer and retailer!

Frito: What's the minus of thirty and twenty?
Joe: Uh, it's eighty. It's eighty billion dollars. That's a mighty big minus isn't it?
Frito: Yeah. I like money.

A PR rep should be more careful how they speak and type. Their judgement reflects upon the entities they represent.

Im not going either way here, but leaning towards Logansryche....but again I could be wrong.

The evidence you provided only says that you bought a card from him...it didnt say on the condition that it be "sent out tonight"....jeez, Ebay's legal contract is usually some 30 days until completion.

Now it looks like he bought the site from somewhere else and its taking longer than super fast service....but unless I see that time constraint as a condition of the purchase, Im not blaming logansryche here.

The other part you could be tried for obsession. Going after him at work? Thats just wrong...and it could be illegal....d/k. But I suppose you want to say that your time for all this is worth $10...I mean theres a cost of doing business and there's a cost of purchasing too.

Ok to straighten a few things up so everyone's not confused.

cablepair IM's me out of the blue all frantic as fuck and asks if I can get him a godaddy card and asks how much. I tell him and he says he wants a $10 card instead. Me taking the oportunity to improve myself around here, accept and tell him I can get him the gift code so he can get his site back online. I stroll on over to spendbitcoins and get a godaddy code. They say it can take up to 12 hours and so I'm thinking everything's going smooth till I get an actual phone call from him while I was at work asking where the code was. When I explained that I should have the code by tonight, he says fine.
When I get home my inbox is full of him asking me where the code is as well as the forum inbox, to to mention posting his "computer business" and says that if I don't cough up the code tonight(which I can't do as I'm sure Jeremy's probly getting annoyed with all my IMs) he's going to show up at my work tomorow and demand it. I'm sorry, firstly this is not how business is conducted. Secondly, I don't have his coins because they went to paying for the code. Thirdly, I can site him for stalking, hacking and any other means of finding out where I work, where I live, my work schedule, and demanding for either one.

Once I get the code from spendbitcoins, I'm sending it to him. That was the deal. Spendbitcoins is holding up the line sort of speak.

1)  You sold him a single code you didn't have
2) When he calls you, you assure him it'd be later that evening
3) Later that evening rolls around, and you still don't have the code
4) You have the nerve to tell him "This isn't how business is conducted"

What was your store stocked with previously?  You don't have any inventory left...?

Edit: Wait, you're threatening to SUE an upset customer!?!

Logan, drop the not my fault anyone doing any form of buisness should know better than to promise to deliver before they have the product. Are you a scammer, no. Should you be even trying to do buisness here, Not without some serious modifications to your attitude and buisness practices.
Spend bitcoins will issue the code that is guaranteed and when it does you will send the code to the person who purchased it (cablepair). I want you to as a service to the community issue a public apology for your poor buisness pratices and next time you sell something pick any community member with a good reputaion and have them go over the details of the detail prior to going through with it.

Deslok man, you've been friendly to me while others haven't.
I fully apologise for selling something I didn't fully have. I was so sure I could get the code since I've gotten stuff by email before in next to no time.
It was poor of me to rely on spendbitcoins and should have just said no, but I didn't.

I guess I'lll get what's coming to me.

Well it would seem that the correct course of action at this point is to cancel your order and refund him his bitcoins, since he said he wanted one or the other by tonight.  I wouldn't think that would be a problem assuming you're portraying yourself as a legitimate business.  Regardless of who's fault it is(it's yours), that would be the appropriate action to take.

In fact, I know of a place off the top of my head that sells sport cards wholesale in huge lots for cheap.
Could I go that route? sure. Have I? Yeah, I have. Where do you think I got all the gift cards from.

Are we supposed to believe that somehow you buy the cards "in huge lots" only after people purchase them from you?  It sounds to me like you were bullshitting about your big business to give yourself an air of legitimacy, and you got caught claiming you buy your cards wholesale in big lots when what you actually do is wait until someone pays you and then turn around and buy the card at retail from someone else.  Which, by the way, is an idiotic way to run a business, but I think with the help of this forum, you may have figured that out by now.

The real suprise here isn't that logansryche is so incompetent that he can't fill a single order, but that someone actually placed a single order with logansryche.

The amount of fighting that goes on over 5 and 10 dollar transactions in these forums is both hilarious and depressing. Comedy value on that front peaked in logan's goodbye thread where he promised to pay back some guy the equivalent of U.S. $0.40 in BTC as soon as he had it.

There was also that guy who had a website designed by logansryche and then got charged for 7 hours worth of work for a broken POS.  So he's got 2 sales and 4 threads talking about what a jackass he is.  That's a pretty impressive ratio!

That makes it sounds like you knew what you were getting into, but just wanted any sale more. Like you said, there was a desperation to be accepted by someone else that clouded your choices.

I already said I'd send him the code when I get it
Too late! BTW, what if you dont get the code? Is that cablepair's fault now? What scenario is there that it is your fault(at least partial fault)?

I did know what I was getting into and was 99.9999999999999% positive I'd have the code in my email no longer then an hour. Well, one hour's obviously turned into 13 hours.

It's never too late to apologise. Any parent knows that. If for some reason spendbitcoins doesn't get me the code, then I'll have to wait till I get paid and give cablepair back his $10. I'm already spamming spendbitcoins' IM to get a response; so far, none.

Judge Folds finds you guilty of incitement of the second thread by locking the first before people were done mocking you. Your sentence is dressing up like a rat and letting Rassah have his way with you in whatever costume he chooses to degrade himself in. So sayeth the judge...

Look I'm all about the plight of the poor and everything, but when you find yourself in the position of owing someone half the cost of a can of Coke and you have to ask your customers to wait for your Wal-Mart paycheck if they want their $10 back, maybe operating a business is ill-advised at this point in time.

Well there is more then one reason why BitCard isn't around anymore, bills is one of em.
I mainly even thought up BitCard so I could try and reintroduce stuff that was popular in my childhood.
True, baseball cards had their shot from the 1800s till 1985, but still. It was from my childhood and I wanted to share.
Pokemon became a huge craze fast and so did Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic and wanted to share them as well.
I'm actually thinking about going back to scrapping. It's the only thing I physically have alot of.
Was going to open a store about alot of people thought it was a bad idea so I didn't. Only thing left out of BitCard is the domain, and that's good till December. I'd hate to see it go to waste.

Quote
I'm waiting for the coins to confirm, and when they do I'll send the code.

-Matt

I wish he would post my side of the conversation, you would see that I told him several times that I need this code right now.

The thing that I do not understand is why can't he just refund the money? Ok, lets say he does not have the coins anymore fine, he spent them at gaybitcoinporn.com or something.

Why can't I just stop by his work and pick it up, are you telling me you have no way to get ahold of $11?

I mean literally I can drive to your work in 30 mins.

so sad.

Rule of Acquisition #1: Once you have their money, you never give it back.

I've bought gift "cards" for myself from GoDaddy.com before, and the first time I made a purchase from them, it took them 3 days to finally call my phone and verify/process my order. They unlock your account and don't verify after that. Guess which Randian Superman fox kitsune probably hasn't ever purchased a GoDaddy gift card!

You seem to fail to understand that you are not in a position to be picky like that...
You defaulted on your customer, you are responsible and liable, and whatever excuse you find to justify yourself, that does change that fact.
When I saw the topic of this thread I thought that cablepair was a bit of a stalker.
But seeing how you react when people propose you easy solutions to litigate this issue, I start wondering if you are not really being dishonnest.

Well, do as you feel like, but don't go complain that it's all Bitcoin's fault when your angry customer comes at your job and ask to talk to your manager.

I'd say give me a week but I have a feeling it will be longer. Check back at www.CheaperInBitcoins.com for giftcards in a month!

P.S. Just purchased CheaperExchange.com :D
Which will be comming out in a year. If all goes well at the bank it could come out this year.

I'm not only broke, I'm super broke. Both USD and BTC.
And if I take the loan from Sen, refund you your coins, and the card code does go through, I'm stuck with a code that's no good to me.
Now the only thing I can hope for is that I get the code soon or sell my domain soon so I can then refund you.
Until then, I'm stuck.

Here's my suggestion. Be a man for once in your life. Pay me back the damn coins you tried to scam from me, If you do get the godaddy code, and it is legit, sent it to me and when it checks out I will pay you for it. It's that simple.

He puts the tires on your car.
Managers don't put tires on your car.

Salaried Managers actually get paid pretty well. I live in a state that has pretty close to the lowest average income and they make about $60k/yr in small stores, store managers make around $150k in the same small store. The big stores, like I would assume Syracuse would have, would make quite a bit more.

You got a restraining order that fast!
wow! are they selling restraining orders on Spendbitcoins.com now too?
Your a liar and a theif. Bottom line. I am not threatening to do anything at all to you that would warrant a restraining order. All I want is for you to either be a man and tell the truth on here or I am going to tell your boss at walmart that you are a scam artist.
Thats it.

But, honestly.. a restraining order.. ?

I wouldn't worry too much. The court fees cost more then $10.

this situation is like bitmole when he didnt have btc available to send payment for a service,

I can see that you were offering a product ( a code ) which you did not have it on you when selling it, which created the problem

What created the problem was OPs lack of patience.

It's great how a furry can wander on a board full of hardcore minarchists, trolls, self-righteous blowhards who don't understand the difference between "profit" and "revenue", and people who white knight Bruce - oh, and Atlas - and still manage to be the most despicable, sleazy, two-faced, dishonest, and downright stupid person (or kitsune-gryphon, whatever) on the board.

Even Atlas is a better businessman than you.

Also, as you say every other post, "lol" at the idea of getting a magic restraining order where the police don't actually contact the person being restrained. I'm sure "lol" is exactly what the person on the other end of the phone would say if you called to take out a restraining order on someone whose name you don't even know. Like most furries, you watched a few Lifetime movies and think you know how the big boy world works.

I dont care about that restraining order crap we all know thats a lie and I have not done anything to warrant a restraining order. Matt all i want you to do is tell the truth man seriously. Tell the truth thats it and I will change the title and the original post so people stop coming here. I will end the whole thing I just want you to be a man and tell the truth.

You lied to me about having a card.
When I called you at work you lied again.

I dont know what your intentions were, maybe you were planning on getting me a card somewhere down the line. Who knows, but please tell the truth you had me beilive that as soon as the coins confirmed you were going to give me a code that you did not really have.

I think what is more telling here, is that for someone trying to run a business, if he doesn't have $10 in capital to credit a refund, then he probably shouldn't be trying to run a serious business with at least some float cash.

In short, logansryche, you take the cake for the biggest moron on these forums. And that really is a special honor, considering the state of these forums.

Stick to your job at Walmart; something that doesn't require anything more than basic motor-neurons firing.

Neither one of those transactions are on Block explorer.

logansryche has demonstrated several times now that he's a morally questionable immature manchild, predisposed towards lying and scamming, filled with a tremendous sense of entitlement and questionable grasp of reality, and utterly incapable of taking neither criticism nor responsibility for his own actions.

Do we really need to lower ourselves to making fun of his fiancée's appearance?

I agree that bashing his girlfriend is pretty low.  I don't think the fact that he paid the buyer back makes him OK, though.  Not by a longshot.  He had to be repeatedly called out in order to do the right thing, he still doesn't see that the whole transaction going wrong was his own damned fault (sorry bud, but it's your own fault that you had such a lousy plan for fulfilling orders, not the fault of thebitcardstore), and now that he's finally paid the buyer back, he's acting like a pouty child over the fact that he's going to be "stuck" with a gift card himself.  Guess what, dipshit?  Selling gift cards was supposed to be your business!  Sell the goddamn thing to someone else and quit whining.  The fact that you don't have enough of a buffer to cover one single transaction means you were a failure from the start.  Jesus fucking christ, what kind of entrepreneur doesn't understand that you might need at least $10 on hand to run a retail business?

Also: I hope cablepair shows up at Walmart and introduces himself, just to find out whether he's going to jail immediately due to the restraining order you magically got in the middle of the night, or if you were lying about that too.

Hmm...
It was almost a sure fire thing though. Cablepair needed a card and I was so sure I could get it.
I did in fact order the card. I just snapped this from my wallet.

The red box is what I just paid Cablepair.
The blue box is the address I was gaven from spendbitcoins to pay for the $10 card, thus proving I paid for it.
I'm out for a bit, fience's grandma needs help with some stuff over at her place.

That screenshot changes things. It appears that logansryche has been lying this entire time. I was going to redact his personal information from this thread, but now I cannot. This scammer investigation just got reopened (I've been watching and gathering information this entire time). It will remain open until we get information from spendbitcoins. However, nothing will be redacted afterwards, regardless of the outcome.

Hi there. This was indeed my stuff up, not logansrysche's.

I was unaware of any of this until I woke up about 20 minutes ago (just past 7am here in Australia).

Here is what happened.

20 Sept 2011:
--At 1913 UTC a payment of BTC 1.69 was confirmed in my wallet.
--At approximately 2000 UTC I processed orders, and this GoDaddy gift code was sent to the email address from which it was ordered (I was not aware there was a third party involved).
--A few times yesterday logansryche IM'd me "Are you there?" but I wasn't.
--When I got to my IM, I replied "What's up?" but there was no response.
--When I woke up this morning, there was an email from loganrysche saying he had not recieved the gift code and a PM from cablepair directing me to this thread.
--I forwarded the quote I fulfilled to logansryche, noting that the email address on the quote was different from the email address he emailed me from.
--Logansryche replied, saying it is not his email address, and he doesn't know who's it is.
--I looked back at the quotes and realised I received two quotes for $10 GoDaddy gift codes at nearly the same time, and that I accidentally sent the gift code to the person who just got a quote and DID NOT send payment. I use different receiving addresses for each quote for this very reason, but as I have never received two quotes for the same thing at nearly the same time, I was careless and did not check the receiving address, just the amount. Won't do that again!

Anyway, I am refunding logansryche's bitcoins now as he does not want a GoDaddy gift code. Good thing this was only $10 and not $1000! I can afford a $10 lesson.

I'm not following.

the first address(the one to cablepair) is http://blockexplorer.com/address/1GnSekWQL7ESyiA9NqY499amHJTDWMtW93 which is confirmed with 21 confirmations.
The second address(the one to Jeremy) is http://blockexplorer.com/address/1HDwpqaYw6uNz1Syy7ZM2VTbbipFTF1fim which is also confirmed with 165 confirmations.

You say you had to borrow money to pay him back.

But in your screenshot, there is no deposit (the funds you borrowed), only 2 withdrawls.

This means you already had the funds.  Why lie about having to get funds?

(I think I'm following this correctly)

Nope. Those funds came off Mt. Gox. I'm not sharing that.
Point being, Cablepair was refunded the money so this thread shouldn't be continuing but hey guess what... it is.

His point is that you claimed to not have any BTC to pay him back, and had to get it from your fiance yet there is no transaction for this, seeing as the payment to him is confirmed they must have come from this account and therefore either your fiance must have paid you a while back or you had funds already there, either way you held off refunding him by saying you had no funds when you must have had some.

You paid him from that account, therefor ethe funds must have entered that account.

Just because you have access to funds doesn't mean you can spend them.

I could go buy a bunch of shit for two grand right this minute, but then in nine days, I wouldn't have that two grand to pay my rent. See how such a situation can arise?

Your landlord accepts bitcoins?

Again, logansryche has a history (https://i.imgur.com/k2xLi.png) of being a liar/scammer/immoral guy. Why are you so surprised that he didn't in fact need to borrow a ridiculously small amount of money from his fiancée?

To answer atlas' question, it was 2 different wal-marts lol.
Keep bashing and I'll keep laughing, I have enough popcorn.
When you applied at your current wal-mart position, did you disclose that you've been fired from 2 other wal-marts?  Have you worked a job that wasn't wal-mart?

I have and after 30 days, you're out of Wal-Mart's system unless you were fired for something really serious(like assult or stealing). If you're also inquiering, I was let go the first time because of attendance, and the second time because I was injured on the job(messed up my spine because of that mess).

What if they keep a joint btc wallet? I know I used to have a joint household account with my domestic partner. She woulda been PISSED if I was dipping into it for my own shit without talking to her.

Once again, I am not defending this guy, but I am not condoning jumping down his throat for an innocent mistake. He did some bad business. Nothing more...it's not a scam. It's fucking drop shipping, and it's one of the most common sales techniques on the internet.

I don't think he was scamming in this case, no. But I think it's fairly obvious he he lies about pretty much everything (from having cards in stock, to obtaining restraining orders, to all the stuff in the CartsForCoins thread where he lied about how much work he put in/the size of OpenCart modules) and we don't need the lack of a wife-to-husband BTC transfer to doubt his story which is largely irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Well seeing how mc_lovin is happy with his cart and is accepting orders, I don't think that's 1/2 bad.
I don't know of any online company that doesn't fudge stock numbers. If you ordered 20 physical gift cards of say, McDonalds. I could go out and physically get and send you 20 McDonalds gift cards. Why me instead of you doing it yourself? Lazyness. Did I just add to your accusation? Yes. Did I just admit to it? Yup. Is there anything I can do about it? Nope.

No one wants to look the fool.

Want do you want out of this? He has admitted to his poor business practices. This thread came about because of his ridiculous message that he was folding his store, so we don't need to worry about it occurring again (hopefully).

Once again: all he did was drop ship something, and he hit a snag and tried to not look like a jackass. I order parts from all over the world for my business, and I have had much worse delays due to the same BS...it's just the nature of online retail.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!
ATTENTION EVERYONE!
I am openly admitting that this deal was entirely my fault. Cablepair came to me and asked me for a gift card. He didn't ask if I had one, just that he needed one. I mislead him into thinking I had a card lying around like yesterday's news and so he paid me. Did I fuckup? Oh yeah, majorly. Am I a scam artist? No.. I thought the deal was in the bag, but no one will care about that. They'll only see that I fucked up and lable me a liar/cheater/scammer/whatever.

So there it is.
Hope you're happy Cablepair.

Dude, you started a thread yelling at everyone for driving you out of business; a business in which you had very little time and capital vested that offered overpriced things that no one but an EXTREME specialty market was into. You have hardly earned the luxury of feeling sorry for yourself here.

Lest you forget, I was one of the people poking fun at you. I am starting to think you might just be the troll-king of bitcoin.

Your sort-of-apology there is what should have happened a bunch of pages ago.

You want me to lock the thread? That will take actually taking responsibility for your actions not some bullshit lines to try to appease me.

I don't care that your intentions might of been to somewhere down the line buy a gift card off of someone else and then give it to me.
I could of bought the card of SpendBitcoins.com. YOU represented to me that you HAD THE GIFT CARD TO SELL ME. You lied to me multiple times. To do what? Make $1? You represented that you ran this web site Thebitcardstore.com or whatever and you had all kinds of gift cards. When I called you at your work you I told you in a very gentleman-ish way that I needed the card tonight and if you could not provide it to me I want my coins back. You agreed to this. Again another lie.

Maybe your intentions were not to rip me off completely. But I expect you to be a man and admit that you lied, and misled me multiple times. If you do that, admit that you lied, and then you lied again, and then you lied again in the forums to cover up your lies and all the other bullshit that ensued.

I will actually have some respect for you for finally doing the right thing and I will honor that by locking this thread up and accepting your apology.

look at this PM he just sent me:

Look, everyone was supporting you because it was a trade dispute and you were right. Now, you got your money back, the guy obviously wants to make up and you are still trying to bash him. You need to lock this thread or ask the mods to take it to off-topic. Or 4-chan...
