Wow..I think OP is English or Marketing major.. lots of word compare to other coins. However, IPO disturbed me. The writing almost made me forgot that this coin is nothing but another copy and paste clone coin. We will see though. Any plans to make this unique besides great "marketing" and "business-focused" coin like other 100 coins?

If NTM will become popular on its own, without project's support, independent and self-sustained coin, it would be great accomplishment. Even clones have their purpose. The coin will create its own market, foundation and develop commercial site that will integrate coin as preferred payment and investment method. NTM will be used to help in applying creativity to real world, matching inventors and entrepreneurs with angel investors and venture capital groups. Some people who have limited access to capital, due to their lack of knowledge of business terms and limited social connections, lose opportunities and the whole generation is losing its chance to get potential technologies that could have have been applied yesterday instead of tomorrow. Some geniuses can be limited in funds while have a lot to offer for the progress and technology, science and commerce. What if few knowledgeable people can make the difference in medical advances, not 30 years from now but within 5 years? This coin is as different from any other just as Litecoin is different from Bitcoin. Difference will become obvious when coin is launched and makes the market, until then it will be just the promise.

In technical aspects, coin's algorithm is similar to Litecoin, it is Scrypt based, although it has its miner's appealing settings like: period between block halving events and total coins supply. That means much for the coin stability and growth too, because its value shall stay within reasonable volatility limits, allowing to coin's slowly increase its value, on weekly or monthly trends.  Rewards paid from each found block are kept steady for a year and 3 weeks, time between blocks is only 8 minutes and 53 seconds, while total coins supply is kept within relatively low range of 33.5 million coins. This steady "resonance" of coin inflow vs. its total supply (0.2% of total coins mined per year) will guarantee NTM stability over time in terms of its exchange rate and long-term investment. Similar to Bitcoin model of coin supply and block time has been adopted, while making it appealing to non-Asic miners, to average miners with regular GPU, even Cuda miners and CPU miners, in other words public mining is possible with this algorithm settings. Miners who has invested in Asic equipment are looking for quick income based on their large investment and they abandon coins that are not providing them with minimum payment expectations, while public miners are more dedicated to coin stability considering the fact that GPU equipped computers are not considered an investment, but as a requirement to process modern games and programs. Therefore massive abandonment of ASIC-mined coins, if expectations are not fulfilled (except Bitcoin due to its attractive rate), is creating the wave of reduced coin's difficulty, resulting in its value fall down, followed by active mining based on its reduced difficulty and great inflow of newly mined coins at even lower exchange rate, because coins mined on "difficulty waves" seemed as high risk and disposed of quickly by miners. Such volatile environment of coin's difficulty and its value successively break coin's profit trend and discourage long-term investors, creating negative effect on coin's stability. They dispose the coin, creating market panic of that particular coin. As a result it causes memorable psychological effect in public and coin's growth is compromised; risk partial or complete abandonment of SHA-256 based coin, even if the latter had great marketing plan, funds and purpose.

Would the new Litecoin ASIC be able to mine this coin? If so, that would not be good.

It has no viruses. We understand the frustration, but we try our best and everyone can participate in fair voting process. 

I'm a bit confused about the whole pre-mine statement.  Using your 2 nodes I believe i mined the very first block at 2:04pm EST

So, what exactly is going on here?

Within few minutes from coin launch we received complains from 2 users, stating that coin was premined by 1000 blocks. Then we got technical question from another user about re-target difficulty problem. We had to check on this issue and noticed that client detected 1000 blocks few minutes after the launch. This is normal for new coin to have very low difficulty and to find blocks very quickly on start, however difficulty re-target should have been occurred at the block 2016. We couldn't ignore accusation that someone pre-mined the coin. We had to act and solve both issues at once. We immediately announced about retarget problem, asked users to stop using the client until this issue was solved and shut down nodes within few minutes, however someone created artificial network and continued to mine. How could we ignore that, considering that most miners will assume that we could have pre-mined, then mined more coins while doing something that nobody else has witnessed? We can launch former client if miners believe that it will not affect them, but in this situation we have no choice but to let everyone know of this issue and to vote on it.

We can extend voting by 1 additional hour, if this will make everyone happy, but which client most people will choose is not for us to decide. We cannot extend voting beyond additional 1 hour time frame, but if you wish us to extend voting by 1 additional hour we will agree to that.

It is a pity that this coin with potential has endured so much hardship. It is clear that the dev team is comitted to their project and I will help, support and promote wherever I can.

Some popular wallets, have been reported to contain virus, however later analyzed and recognized that these are false positives reported by some anti-virus programs that confuse bitcoin mining code that was used to mine bitcoins in automatic mode by some viruses in the past with real solo miner code that is used by most wallets that allow solo mining of any particular coin.

The virus results that you have posted and were re-posted before are real and based on scanning results of an unauthorized false wallet posted by some user on comments page on March 12, 2014. This same user has been posting on other coins' threads and pretended to be dev. team representative. He posted links with coin's logo to make it look real, including NTM. We advised (see archive of the OP) to ignore any software that has our logotype and posted on comments page, not on the OP. Price is the result of demand and supply. Future services and merchants added to the list, will positively affect coin price. We currently seeking merchants and organizations to accept NTM. We will join corresponding associations to get advantage within merchant world. Recommended price to sell is at least 100 satoshi per NTM (0.00000100). Lowering price below this minimum will negatively affect coin price in the future and will reduce NTM growth rate. -Proxy server or VPN is used to connect to the Internet
-Windows or second layer firewall blocks incoming communication on client ports. Please verify your public IP on http://whatismyipaddress.com/, then check port at http://ping.eu/port-chk/ placing values of public IP and NTM ports as listed P2P port: 11089 RPC port: 21089.
-Try re-installing the wallet. Keep wallet.dat file backup safe before re-installing the client.
-Port forwarding may be required on some routers.
-Disable antivirus and firewall temporarily to test NTM wallet, if client starts reading blocks, firewall or anti-virus should be re-configured.
-Coin.conf is renamed to any other filename, please keep this filename unchanged. Its contents should be copied exactly:

If these recommendations does not solve your problem with wallet sync, please ask local expert to install wallet and check all connection issues, that may vary from system to system. Some routers may have additionally set firewall protection by default or by admin within router's sub-system that blocks NTM wallet access.

As soon as I fired up the miner it synced,  needed some blocks.  Guess I was the only one generating blocks.

Anything happening today?
