📝MISSION STATEMENT

BUKZ provides the solution for an ever evolving decentralized currency powered by renewable energy. Our software keeps your funds and transactions private and secure by design. The central banking system was established hundreds of years ago and has many flaws that we aim to fix. In addition to resolving the centralized banking institute implications, we're working towards lowering the toll Bitcoin mining is taking upon our worlds energy consumption. That's almost half the worlds energy usage.

BUKZ is a CryptoNote based currency, originally developed in 2014 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bytecoin_(cryptocurrency)#History) by a group of anonymous developers working in unison. Since then many advances have been made in the technology and it will continually evolve ensuring optimal efficiency, security, and stability. This software is a perfect fit for our overall vision, it requires very little resources to run. There's specially designed hardware created to mine BUKZ (http://bukz.website/2018/09/14/what-is-mining/) that allows us to run the network using very little power consumption while simultaneously maintaining optimal network efficiency.

Giving us a beautiful foundation to build upon. Our goal is to help our miners power their mining rigs as efficiently as possible with renewable energy. We support and actively study solar, wind, and hydro applications in an attempt to provide useful experience based information for world class setups.

I have been a developer for 10+ years, PHP, C, C++, Java
My brother is an electrical engineer with an emphasis on solar education.

There's room for people who would like to help for certain. Security expert comes to mind, like if someone had the capabilities to ensure that windows build recently crerated is safe (https://mega.nz/#!yAFmWKaS!c4zg62ZJ8EookIdjcFC_2roj60Z7ZmfYIJ7FOuTKVxQ). I've taken shelter under linux boxes so a windows expert would likely be better at making sure its clean. If it is safe, that's a really nice thing of him to do for us and it looks like the pool he runs has a web miner as well. But for now all I can do is take the steps I CAN see and with and when the resources are available. But yes, the idea for this project is big. And feasible. And good for the earth, decentralizing the network, spreading knowledge of solar power.. It's just the beginning.

UPDATE: Found the problem. SeedNodes are running fine, Sorry for lack of blocks being gathered. I hadn't realized how quickly the blockchain would grow. I found the problem and have upgraded the nodes they are in the process of being upgraded and should be set to continue within the next 30 minutes.

Alright, I've found a solution and am implementing it and there will be no loss in blocks mined. I'm mounting extra space drives on and loading the blockchain from there! Any tips on better implementations welcome! Are checkpoints used to prune the blockchain for such situations?

Still, even with new mounted 500g devices for the blockchains and the seed daemons running from those mounted directories its connecting to this old peer list, or not allowing these peers to connect.  has anyone been through this before? It's currently stuck at the same block and won't grow further? It has plenty of space now but just keeps denying connections. there's no iptables configured or the like.

Hardforking already. The system got stuck at 8k blocks due to errrors. The new commits have been made, And im going to update the main thread with a configuration file to add primary seed node.

The first seed node (45.79.155.31) is compiling now, I have the blockchain being stored on a volume this time so I can add space before it becomes filled. I also changed the time for blocks to unlock from 60 to 30, to be more in tune with the bigger picture and usage.

This is another unswerving effort at creating the energy-reaping generator of material success. Our first steps towards our goal of realizing a fully solar/renewable currency is building a mining setup that runs on solar power. The blueprints of the first room are ready, and the room is cleared and ready to be built. All plans will be released open source so they can be replicated by the community.

I personally interested in this project, having a renewable energy for daily life is really important things to have.
Not just that, BUKZ tried to utilize those renewable energy in the cryptocurrency world which is taking too many energy when it used non-renewable energy.

There's an ongoing issue with the fork of CryptoNote I was using. I have the blockchain backed up on the seednodes. I have turned off the seednodes and halted mining until I upgrade the software to ensure network reliability. There was a double spend attack, which may have compromised the chain. The project will resume.

I'l utilize a newer codebase that uses CN Light, making more sense being a renewable energy powered network. And raising the transaction fee's. Integrating the existing blockchain if I can ensure it wasn't compromised.

I am working to find a more knowledgable dev willing to participate so I can focus more on that side of the project, marketing, blue prints, mining, web development are more my forte. I'd rather find a reliable dev I enjoy working with or learn the codebase myself, I understand the code just not enough to debug the errors and protect the network as of yet. I'm looking to build a life long project here not a one and done.

Extremely excited by the prospects of this project.  Tell me, though, I can't quite wrap my head around it, in what way does the renewable energy affect the mining process or overall profitability?  I know it's a noob question, but still, I need some to explain it to me.

As long as there is enough power provided to the mining rig there would be no loss of profitabilty, aside you would be earning more not paying for electricity (After the initial setup). We plan on doing some tutorials on repurposing (Alternators, Washing Machines) into free power as well as a more traditional solar setup. I'm currently looking at implementing with CryptoNight Original or CryptoNight Light (AEON) code base for the relaunch! Those algorithms are supported by the Baikal ASIC miners which I think will run the network best as they only draw ~650w and have speeds of 240/480kh respestively. Cheers! Stay tuned :)

Thanks we're in the process of switching to CryptoNight Light to improve network stability, increase performance, and make every bit of electricity count. Yes we do! Cheers.

Don't bother switching.  You are heading the wrong direction.  You need to build a miner community.  Instead, you seem to be heading down a path of further isolating yourself by further limiting (greatly) the mining equipment necessary to be able to run your blockchain.  If you want smooth operation and to be a going concern moving forward, you need hashpower.  Kudos for trying to do it in a sustainable way.  But you are flirting with a dead blockchain project if you go the way of just CN-Light.  You need Bitmain X3s to be able to run on your chain if you want to be around for a significant period of time... Baikals will still be able to run too... you need time for you to find your identity and what differentiates you from other CN projects out there to make your coin worth mining.  You don't need your own blockchain to do the sustainability experiments you are doing... but you do need a blockchain if you want to donate to future eco-projects, or create eco-friendly tech, or support green projects as the mission of your crypto.  Crypto can represent a mission, a set of projects that folks can get behind... each Crypto doesn't have to have it's own unique tech...  but you limit people's ability to support your mission if you eliminate their gear from being able to run on your chain...  stay inclusive.  Figure out your purpose... Figure out what BUZ will contribute to the world... and in a way that folks will support your goal...  have a look at Newton (NCP) Coin if you want some ideas.  At the end of the day.... if you don't get on an exchange for find a way to do P2P exchanges of coin on a DEX... you have no economy and your Crypto will be worthless.  Answer this question...  why should I spend my money on an electric bill to generate crypto on your blockchain?  And I don't have a stream in my backyard... So, if I can't sell it or trade it for something soon...  you have no community and no one will support you.  Solve those issues... and you will have the next 20 years to work on green tech with the crypto proceeds.

im don’t understand why such a big difference between pools? is there really any big difference between them when one takes 2% and another 0.4%? im want to mine but at the moment i have not decided which option to take.

I'm working on the developer library for WalletD. Once it's functional the Web Wallet can be released, it's Reactive/Renders in all browsers. Users will be able to create Wallets, Import, and Export as well as Transfer funds easily via QR code.

Hey guys just an update, The web wallet is coming along I'll be releasing it tomorrow. We can add more features but it does all the basic web wallet things for now. I'm thinking of implementing a way for people to accept payments on their websites with it utilizing a widget. and I'm reworking the road map and timing to be more definitive.

Do not you return my more than a million coins that were mined in the early days?

The first release was online for a few weeks before it was realized to be vulnerable to the double spend attack, but had different variables, 30 second blocks and 420+ block reward. There's only 1.4m coins in existence now, there was several weeks in between launches. I could of started it under a new name but I kept everyone updated as to what was going on and it had a fair restart.
