I went to post this


and this happened:


scam for sure.  not one time until today has anyone every been  able to do a block on a post.

and I tried to post on a second account and was block with that one.

The scammer also has an ebay listing for a 46ths unit for $500... It is a scam

No shit, this was my initial response to NotFuzzyWarm which then got moderated 3 times.

By the way, that wasn't moderation, that was cloudflare getting absurdly twitchy, it even wouldn't let us moderators post so... yeah unless Asgard themselves hacked btctalk just for the sake of that thread, then no.

Phil's wasn't moderation but my posts were Moderated by the asgard thread starter.

They had requested more information about mfb about 3am PST. Seems they accessed our site from inside the UK which is a bit suspicious since the company is supposed to be located in Sweden or the Netherlands (?). I think we all agree anyone sending BTC to them is more than likely  a bad idea.

So far, besides the normal red lights (better, faster, cheaper from a company nobody has heard about - posted by newbie accounts), I've seen 2 other red flags:

1)  Someone Google imaged search one of the executives and found an exact match for a guy in Odessa, Urkraine with a different name.  Faking photos is not something a legitamate company would do.

2)  The other thread on this in this section is self moderated and HIGHLY edited.  Ask about demo units for review purposes and your post gets deleted.

Sidehack posted in the self mod thread last night as well (I merited his post).  He made a comment about notfuzzy being notskeptical which made him (sidehack) more skeptical!

The OP of that thread is sitting online and deleting almost everything, hes not interested in any discussion, he's sitting and waiting for BTC to hit his wallet, fucking scamming cunt!

Also note that suchmoon found a stolen picture of an ibelink hash board that scamgard used on their site.

How in fucks name did the two biggest Avalon supporters on the forum jump into bed with this scammer.  Either those accounts are compromised or those two guys have lost their minds...

I'm going to report haggsfins post in the sm thread as spam (because it actually is LOL) hopefully ck or frodocooper agree and remove it at least we wont have a ringing endorsement there.

I disagree. While it is indeed out of character for both NotFuzzyWarm and HagssFIN to be seemingly endorsing Asgard Mining this prematurely (whether explicitly or implicitly), deleting their posts would amount to censorship. We already have Asgard Mining censoring their own thread; I would very much like to avoid stooping to their level.

Also, the onus is on any potential customer to conduct their own due diligence before purchasing from Asgard Mining. The most that can reasonably be expected of us in this situation is simply to provide sufficient warning regarding the risks of purchasing from Asgard Mining. I'm convinced that this thread and the one in Scam Accusations (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.0) constitute adequate warning.

There is therefore no reason, in my opinion, for -ck and myself to begin censoring asgardmint's thread, even if for the benevolent purpose of removing questionable endorsements from NotFuzzyWarm and HagssFIN.

I nevertheless marked your report as Handled as a concession. The appropriate action to be taken would have been to mark it as a Bad report.

On that note, there may be a remote possibility that HagssFIN was merely being sarcastic.

May want to add some capital letters to the thread title here so people see it.

Kind of how I got drawn into it, was from their initial posts to. Some were just a little skeptical at first and seemed routine now it's pretty clear legendary accounts likely compromised.

Not that this is funny at all but I would have loved to have read sidehacks post.

Thanks for responding, I do appreciate that.  I would have preferred actually if you marked it bad if you didn't agree with it.

1) I did not report NFW's because I completely agree it is not spam (ie it did not break forum rules) and the onus is always on the customer to do their own dd
2)  I did not report the Self Mod'd thread as I did not see it as breaking any rules.
3)  I reported Hagssfin post because it looks like another "great project" one line shit post we have all deleted hundreds of times.  I actually thought there was sufficient rule being broken to warrant deleting it.
4)  I did not ask to remove the post to stoop down to the OP's level or have it removed because it's an endorsement of sorts.  I asked for it to be removed as Spam or breaking the rules the side effect being it was not their anymore.  I asked for the post to be removed because it violates forum rules IMO, if you don't agree I can and will respect that.

Honestly man I am not looking for a fight I respect your decision and I will leave it at that!

As for HaggsFinn, it reads to me as thick sarcasm.

In a self-moderated thread, can the moderator edit posts or just delete them?

In my self mod threads I can only Delete them not edit them.

Which means one of the below
a fuzzy changed it
b fuzzy was hacked password not changed and only that edit was done
c someone that has privileges to edit did it
d fuzzy has sold out.
E something else

I sent him two headed "ASGARD", no reply, the first one way back, when my "he's not who he says he is" post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.msg41169524#msg41169524) was deleted and he posted the original 'positive' message.
Strangely 19 minutes after I sent that, he went to the post and edited it into a fucking eulogy, by adding the bolded bit.


And then, after my second message basically asking "WTF?", he added the visible edit, winding his neck in a bit.

And, in the middle of it all, we had that Cloudflare (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4572498.0) weirdness. (And ironically ended up with Theymos, who allegedly wouldn't know how to plug a miner in, multiple quoting a self modded thread by a [probable] scammer.)

NFW was pissed up when he made the first post. I understand that there's lots of hopes for new toys soon in the mining world and maybe he posted a bit indiscreetly.
Some jumped up "scam buster" pisses him off by pm'ing, out of the blue, with a picture of a guy on a Russian dating site, so he thinks "I'll make it clear I think that's FUD, not a red flag" and edits to "Yey, suckers, I know what I'm talking about." level.
Gets second pm from me and reads the circling vulture posts (thanks QS (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4567197.msg41232775#msg41232775)) and thinks "Oh, fuck I wish I hadn't had that second bottle" and edits yet again, to back peddle.
Currently not daring to come on line for 24 hours (although it is Sunday), thinking "Oooops....how do I get myself out of this?"

Or maybe not.

 

I was drunk "af" when I made the post on their thread. Maybe an excuse, but maybe not. It is the weekend but most users here seem pretty active.

I'm told all our conversations have been cordial with who ever is on the other end of this  but have been asked to not visit their site till dust settles.

Soo very intrigued on how this plays.  

And now NFW has deleted his post (or it was the OP deleting it, seems unlikely though) from the SM thread...

As I replied in a pm, after finally having time to read through these counter threads, deleted my post from their thread. The ebay sales clinched that. It was never meant as any sort of endorsement -- more of a 'how curious and not *immediately suspicious'. And yes at the price - perhaps interested in purchase IF things continue to look right.

They blew that right out of the water.

edit: as as for the query about PM's, It is not often that I respond to them but DO at least read them. Most are dealing with topics that should be stated in public (tech questions) and that is where I prefer to reply.

I just woke up and saw "New Scam miners" a highlight already. Looks like they cleaned house there.
