Overview:
GPUnion is a decentralized cloud computing platform. Built on blockchain, GPUnion aims to save the large amounts of computing resources that used to be wasted on mining. and to offer satisfying peer-to-peer computing power trading experiences. Instead of mining random hash values, resources in GPUnion ecosystem empowers modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, scientific computing, deep learning, etc. GUT(GPUnion Token) is used as the digital currency among GPUnion ecosystem to settle payments between providers and customers.

Aiming at attracting more GPU miners to get fairly engagement in GPUnion ecosystem, GPUnion tokens are mined in our x16r based anti-ASIC chain called GPUnion Token Distribution Chain before being reflected to the mainnet. Why GUTs are not distributed via ICO?
 - ICO is not an ideal way to attract real GPU miners. The x16r hash algorithm based blockchain ensures GUT to distribute evenly across the entire mining community.

What is a token swap, why are we doing it and when will that happen?
 - Token swapping is two-step process. First, take a snapshot on GPUnion Token Distribution Chain block at a given height ; Second, airdrop equivalent amount of GUTs tokens to the mapped address owners on the mainnet. Since GPUnion Token Distribution Chain is only used for distribution purpose, the ecosystem will be operated on a major chain that supports smart contract. The token swap will take place on Q1-Q2, 2019, just before the first application GPUnion Alpha’s release.

What is the choice for GPUnion's mainnet?
 - The final decision will be announced after evaluating the performances and feedbacks from our testing DApp on both ETH and EOS networks. Customer insights will always be the first priority for GPUnion.

Cloud computing already available a long ago, but utilizing it as a mining equipment could be really useful.
This way it could solve any issue that faced by regular mining way, that are taking so much energy when mining.

This happens a lot to yiimp pools. Cannot find the root cause. But rerun the scrip will fix the delay of payout. Our engineers are working on this and will fix it soon.

We've adjusted the minimum payment to 20 so that small miners are able to get payed. We had some issues with payment scheduling in our pool but it is fixed now.

Hi, I also noticed that the pool itself had an issue over night, there is a payout gap of 11 hours. In those 11 hours of no rewards I finally get a payment of almost double of what i normally got every two hours. Does this mean that the 11 hour gap of mining is wasted power and time or is there a backlog of payments that still has to be made?

YES, to set up a yiimp pool is easy, but to maintain one is not. We didn't realize the code of which is buggy and unstable earlier. Plus 90% of the hash was in the dev-pool, which is not healthy. As we said, we want to focus on the development of GPUnion project.

1. What made you think that large amounts of computing resources is wasted on mining? It is not wasted, miners get reward for their computing power. Even if it is wasted, how do you plan to 'save' it?



2. Your project uses X16R which is the same algorithm used by other projects to mine "random hash values".



3. You cannot just use GPUs power to empower these areas by using X16R algorithm. You need to develop an actual software, a different software/application/plug-in for each of these areas. For example, if you want to focus on "machine learning", you need to contact with, lets say, 'dataikue' (dataiku.com), if they need more computing power (which I doubt), then you can develop an application for their side and for our (miners) side. Then you can finally, actually start selling our GPUs power to them. They pay you for computing power in GUT, then you pay us our shares in GUT, then we can sell them on exchanges, etc... and so on...

YES. We are using x16r to attract miners to distrute GUT just like others for current stage.

The next stage, which will come very soon, is that we will publish our Apps. Both Miner side and customer side. Miner will stop mining and start to share GPU with customers. Customers will be able to do scientific analysis using the GPUs provided by targeted miners. Payment will be resolved by GUT. We name our first app as GPUnion Distributed Virtual Machine.(DVM)

After the huge success of DVM, we will launch our second project in the roadmap, GPUnion FOG. In this new project, we will aim to share GPUs with non tech customers to meet the future development of ML science.

Ok I understand that distribution of the tokens are being done by mining, not through ICO, thats good thinking. But there are still lots of things unclear for me... I always get excited for projects like this, there are already a couple working project right now which I participating in with my GPUs, but yours is really unclear for me.

2. When project actually starts HOW clients in need of computing power purchase GUT? Through where? Exchanges? None of the clients would buy coins through exchanges.

3. For this type of application (GPU power network/cloud) you need lots of resources and budget, and developing this type of softwares would take YEARS. You should have a working demo by now.

4. Since there was no ICOs how did you raise budget for this project? Do you have any investors/partners? I cant see any partners on your website.

What is going on with the hashrate on this? Had many times more hash just a few days ago. Now not so much.

I heard that the exchange was having issues. I am referring to the total network hashrate. It was much higher last week. Then dropped off suddenly and has been slowly creeping back up and now it is back down to 6.1Ghash. Cryptopool.party has 2.9G of that.

I thought that it is a waste to use the mining hash power only for approval work.
I think that it will not be a waste of electricity bill if I can do approval work and other calculations at the same time.
