A couple of the guys from the site are on the forums. They have to be one of the longer lasting Bitcoin services that keeps on truckin.

I guess you could make a video site like stumbleupon videos that wrap all popular video sites and put a tipping feature. It's probably not possible to disable youtube ads, so maybe it's not the best candidate. You will be able to tip any video, and any owner can get in and claim the tips (don't know how but openid would probably help, or otherwise a Bitcoin address publicized through original content page). The amount that's never been claimed goes back to the tipper after a period. This way, there is incentive for content creators to be aware of Bitcoin. I've never seen ads on Youtube - I have adblockplus in firefox and I assumed everyone had. Is that why I don't see ads on Youtube - that's why I thought I never see ads in youtube. (or maybe it's because I'm watching from the UK and they have different rules?) It's popularity will grow because...well...people want to be popular. Main problem would be affording necessary bandwidth.
People like to be the center of the attention and they like knowing that people are interested in them. Capitalize on peoples' desires. Then get rich. |
