Nothing. There aren't hundreds of threads discussing it here on this very forum.

Because people can't withdraw with BTC, they sell their stuck BTC and try to withdraw using USD driving the price down.

If you're both
  • unable to read the existing threads on this very forum, and;
  • still a user of MtGox
then I suspect you're already beyond help.

Stop being morons.

Seriously.

Gox price = fictitious and the exchange needs to die.

Good riddance.

I figure in the next 24 hours we will see Gox close and the rest of the exchanges will pull away as the market ignores all Gox based pricing. Good time to buy if you have access to an exchange.

This is a bait an switch [hopefully].  I have been using my cash balances across accounts to buy.  If its over, I now have nothing to lose ;)

Like I said if I was mark I would cause incredible panic and buy the BTC I owe everyone on the cheap (if they were all stolen).  It's Mt Gox's M.O. nothing new and kudos to him.  If you can't beat him, join him.

Because people can't withdraw with BTC, they sell their stuck BTC and try to withdraw using USD driving the price down.

I sold £400 worth today via LocalBitcoins but have no more to sell just now.

Otherwise, you could sign up with Kraken.com whose bank for Euro deposits is in Germany; the last deposit I made there took less than 24 hours. Most UK banks will charge you less than £10 for doing a SEPA transfer.

Kraken will ask for your name and postal address before letting you do a Euro deposit, but for me this was verified online in less than a minute.

bitbargain.co.uk works for near instant coin using wire transfer. and being UK it uses the 'faster payment' which means no delay on sending the pound.

another option if wanting larger amounts is the IRC channel #bitcoin-otc-uk

Not sure how Gox price is "ficticious" and Bitstamp is not, seeing they both haulted BTC withdrawals....

One is a scam and dead, another is a legit exchange trying to secure their system before resume withdraw.

Does that answer your question

what happened.. well gox died. so ignore the price, no one cares about gox price anymore

+1

take a look at www.kraken.com for evaluating a BTC exchanger who seems working fine at the moment (not tested personally but it looks like working fine at this moment reading from other threads). Anyway, test a small amount before proceeding with large sums.
An alternative could be to find people near you giving you cash...   try to use https://localbitcoins.com

Gox is Dead
So anyone who can buy before GOX completly dies those are going to gain 100% in few hours after gox will completly dead and other will grow up.

for a more reliable BTC price, try to refer to http://www.coindesk.com/price/

they are using these criteria to calculate BTC quote: http://www.coindesk.com/price/bitcoin-price-index/
As you can see, mtgox is not considered to meet their rules.

It's time for loaded to take a trip to Japan with one of his briefcases, meet personally with the staff, deposit the money to his account, buy up all the bitcoins,  and have the staff send him his btc personally using a functioning bitcoin client. With a nice fee to tip off the staff.

$300 was the final bottom in Gox, it won't go lower. I also believe bistamp and btce already witnessed their bottoms

I would.  I just bought some Gox coins, and planning on buying more.  I see nothing that Gox did to suggest that they were deceptive about their motivation behind halting withdrawals, and coins can be had there at a 40% discount vs. Bitstamp.

Well your clearly unable to read.

On top of this you never read or listened to the millions of thread's and post's saying "Don't Store your money on an exchange". So If you loose your life saving's, that's your own fault.

i meant, if someone has a coin in cold wallet, why should he deposit it on gox? having a legit coin and turning it into a gox coin 1:1 with the gox deposit function...
buying btcs which are already on gox is something different.

I remember they had funny limits even for verified users, last time I checked. Did it change much? Was definitely unusable for any real trading, with like 1k usd limits :)

Conspiracy Theory

17,000 coins between $900 and $1400 on Gox , most of which recently added.
And only 7,500 coins till $890

During the slide down coins has been increasing on the ask side. However the bulk added is above $900. This tells me some 'smart' guy/entity is manipulating the ask sum, or is expecting the price to explode and hit over $ 1000.

Goxxed?
