The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

Nothing. There aren't hundreds of threads discussing it here on this very forum.

Because people can't withdraw with BTC, they sell their stuck BTC and try to withdraw using USD driving the price down.

If you're both - unable to read the existing threads on this very forum, and;
- still a user of MtGox
then I suspect you're already beyond help.

Stop being morons.
Seriously.
Gox price = fictitious and the exchange needs to die.
Good riddance.

I figure in the next 24 hours we will see Gox close and the rest of the exchanges will pull away as the market ignores all Gox based pricing. Good time to buy if you have access to an exchange.

This is a bait an switch [hopefully]. I have been using my cash balances across accounts to buy. If its over, I now have nothing to lose Like I said if I was mark I would cause incredible panic and buy the BTC I owe everyone on the cheap (if they were all stolen). It's Mt Gox's M.O. nothing new and kudos to him. If you can't beat him, join him. Because people can't withdraw with BTC, they sell their stuck BTC and try to withdraw using USD driving the price down.

I sold £400 worth today via LocalBitcoins but have no more to sell just now. Otherwise, you could sign up with Kraken.com whose bank for Euro deposits is in Germany; the last deposit I made there took less than 24 hours. Most UK banks will charge you less than £10 for doing a SEPA transfer. Kraken will ask for your name and postal address before letting you do a Euro deposit, but for me this was verified online in less than a minute.

bitbargain.co.uk works for near instant coin using wire transfer. and being UK it uses the 'faster payment' which means no delay on sending the pound. another option if wanting larger amounts is the IRC channel #bitcoin-otc-uk
