Title: I am having problems trying to get refund from AvalonShenzhen
Post by: jamesc760 on February 15, 2014, 02:44:58 PM
for posterity and service to the members, I am copying and pasteing the back and forth with AvalonShenzhen about my attempt at getting refund from him:

AvalonShenzhen,

I want my refund now. I know you are online quite often because you've been deleting my post about order cancellation and refund request as soon as I post them.

I will keep posting until you fully refund me.

James

Hello Jamesc760,

We are not online 24/24 so sorry.
Don't spam the forum or indeed we will clean it up.

Why do you want a refund. Don't buy one unit and after 1 hours ask a refund...

I'd like a refund to pay for extra medication my mother needs. She's been in nursing home and took a bad fall.

Please honor my request for refund now.

Thank you,

James

I will modify, remove, or delete this thread IF I successfully receive full refund amount of 1.1 btc.

I placed an order for 1 Avalon Gen2 215Ghs unit, groubuy batch #4, from AvalonShenzhen yesterday (Friday, February 14th,2014) morning.

By the end of day, I got a bad news from my mother, she literally fell and broke her wrist.

I will be taking care of her and now need extra money, so I asked for refund via pm from AvalonShenzhen right away.

Having heard nothing from him, I email him that evening.

No response at all. So, I post him a message on his groupbuy thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=424621.new#new

The thread is moderated, meaning AvalonShenzhen can delete any posts he doesn't like.

He deletes my message requesting order cancellation and refund.

How odd.

So, I send him another pm and email. Nothing. I post a new message on the thread, and that's the response I got in the post #1.

No offense he doesn't really have to refund you this isn't Kmart you can't change your mind and expect an instant refund.

As long as he delivers the goods he has fulfilled his promise

Looks like he is a scammer

He's trying to erase me from his history!

Sorry dude, I have them all saved and posted.

I know I've been had and will never see my 1.1 btc.

It's not a huge amount, sure it would be a lot easier if I had it.

If I can stop others from giving him any more bitcoins, I will try to bump this thread.

AvalonShenzhen is a SCAMMER!

I understand this is not kmart. What's so difficult about instantly refunding customers? I have provided tx id, amount, my wallet address, all confirmed. You mean, nothing happens in your life and it's smooth sailing all the way? Sorry but I have a life, family and obligations. I'd like to get new machine and thought I had enough in extra. Well, accidents happen. How do you account for that?

Like I stated previously, I can afford to lose 1.1 btc at this point in my life. Maybe I should just shut my mouth and disappear?

AvalonShenzhen acts like a scammer to me. Until he can prove he's not, I will be posting here.

dude take the shipment you paid for and sell it.
go back onto his thread and tell him you were wrong.
tell him you don't need a refund you will take delivery of the gear.
call yourself a stupid westerner that did not understand his culture and ask forgiveness.

In a world that you paid in btc your rights are so hard to in-force  your best bet it to politely ask for forgiveness. And a tracking number (lol)

So these are sold without PSU - how many PSUs, and what wattage and connector types are required?

So i really want to order and get it shipped now in 12th February is this stil possible? i have required the bitcoins needed but im not so used to all this so i just need a confirmation....i am buying a mining rig of 200GH/S + ? And all i need for it to work is PSU and then its plug n play?

Hello Serpiente12,

Thank you for your interest.
First of all, it will be shipped friday 14Th feb and not 12th, just to be sure you know it.
It as a mining rig of at least 215GH/S but look on the post of earlier customers, most of the time it is around 220GH/S.

The full miner is a stand alone miner. So yes, you need to install 2PSU (check first post to have tech. specifications) in the miner and connect it to internet.

After that, you just have to enter the info about your pool to start mining.
If you have any difficulties, we can give you support via teamviewer but it is very simple.

Sorry. I should've read it more closely.

It says in the description that each unit requires 2 power supplies. Can I use 1 large/powerful power supply? Can the PSU or PSU's be mounted inside the case like the old avalon units?

No offense he doesn't really have to refund you this isn't Kmart you can't change your mind and expect an instant refund.

As long as he delivers the goods he has fulfilled his promise

I doubt there will be a delivery..

OK, so question arises.

Why the fuck did mods allow this scam to last so long? 3 weeks on bitcointalk and no scam thread or anything?

they left AvalonShenzen with self-moderated thread. they left him with a self moderated group buy thread for 3 weeks.

he managed to scam 80 btc, that is a lot of money.

Would someone besides a newbie post pictures of the insides of their boxes?

Sorry but no pictures besides vendor....very odd for such a thread

Thank you

More than that... Batch 1   Had 5 buyers.. Which 3 are newbies all with join dates of the 22nd or 23rd and other 2 I can not find. Then batch 2 search their names... Can not find any of them and there is no post by any of them. Batch one buyer act like they got their miner in hand within 3 days and batch two just got tracking numbers emailed to them but not one of them posted a thing? Batch 3 are the suckers that will loose their BTC. I say this is more than just "very odd"

I tried asking and my post was deleted as was another one. I started PM some members and it seemed as thou a lot of the buyers were newbies and was afraid to PM to many of them as I thought he may have been doing some of that himself with more fake ID's trying to make the GB look legit.

He almost got me. I was looking at the prices of these on ebay and got the old "if it's too good to be true, it's probably is" feeling. 300% profit that he was losing selling on here than ebay.

Have to get more careful in the future, waiting for some more evidence that vendors actually exist..

hello,

IF- al lot of people know it was a scam-so my simple question ,why the hell was this thread 2 or 3 weeks open and he was be able to ripp of so many people?

why he was be able to moderate his thread and delete what he want - to prevent that some call him a scam in this thread?

i dont cry because of the 1.1 btc.... its bad and hard and i learned from it -but no one stops him and his thread instead of knowing ,that it is a scam?

Fuck my fucking life.

another 1.1 btc gone forever.

and I'm getting tired of hearing 'use your own brain'...its quite obvious that this entire website is little more than a front for these thieves.  This place is a haven for crooks who get protection FROM the site.

What is the IP Address(s) of this POS?   bitcointalk won't tell us!
The very idea of these 'self moderated' threads are conducive to these scams.

The fucking site is AT BEST allowing these people to rip us off...at worst they are involved and profiting from it.

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

And then the site MOVES the topic into scam accusations because as we all know what's REALLY IMPORTANT is to not have off topic shit in the Groupbuy section

How about NOT moving ANOTHER fucking thread about ANOTHER fucking thief that YOU are protecting assholes....

I wonder how long it will take before this gets deleted???

It is difficult.  Being new to the forum I didn't realized that the OP could delete and edit within the post.  Surprised that it doesn't stay in group buy longer when a number of people were scammed.  Unfortunately I ordered 10.

Obviously posting on the trust rating a negative as soon as you are in doubt of a buy being legit is a must to save others.

There were no senior members involved. You may have thought there were, but you didn't do your due diligence (read above- they were made up names). I appreciate the fact you are upset, every normal person would be, but this is not the way to react. You're yelling at the people who tried to help out by painting his trust red and getting the mods involved.

I think as of right now we have to take this man at his word.  I see a few other posts in this thread that look similar to mine.

Sickness or not, where are the funds from the group buy? If they are sitting safe, what not a full refund ASAP? If these funds were used for any other purpose, no matter the circumstances, that is FRAUD.

What we are being told is that he met someone in person and he was beaten and robbed and as a result the BTC from the groupbuy was taken (that's why he is going the refund route instead of just sending the cards).  He will now payback those who are entitled but he has to do it out of his own pocket and that will take several months.

I agree it is a rather fantastic tale and I can't verify it or dismiss it out of hand.  I did receive a small amount back and am being told the rest will follow.  Right now that is all that I know.

The plot thickens!

There's no plot...I was unlucky enough to get taken twice.  In the first one I got back a tiny amount of what I lost and I still have no idea why if the guy got away with it he would refund anything.  I was trying to remain civil with the guy in an attempt to recover my lost money.  There's nothing more to it than that.

I am glad you have calmed down. I sincerely hope your money gets returned. I also urge you and anyone else conducting business on these forums to please review TC's guide - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137288.0. Another reason why they can't:

They are too busy blaming regular members, "Grow and use your brains, read the TC guide, blah blah blah.

Let the FED'S/RCMP/Whatever, do the dirty work. Members from other countries should post links to the LEO'S for that region.

Waiting for a website post in Scam Accusations prolly won't cut it. TAKE ACTION!
