John Mc Afee is one of the notable figures in the cryptocurrency industrial for his role in investing in bitcoin at the early stage. Most ICOs has used him as leverage to raised millions of dollars within the shortest period of time.

Some of this ICOs were promoted through his twitter handle are probably dead of just struggling to survive. Below is a list of some of the ICO that was promoted by John Mc Afee

yeah but i think that nearly everybody knows that the these icos are just paying famous persons like mcafee in order to promote the ico. this just easy mones for him haha

Yes he is/was and Advisor so his job was to spam for some companies and get payment probably (not sure) in ETH/bitcoin/dollars+coins, so in the end if the coin was a shit coin for him nothig changed.

I'll tell you that this is one of the most influential people! from his words a lot of things depend! To take MTS this token grew very strongly in price, when he said that soon the coin's resistance could grow several times to the interim of the summer! I saw how this coin grew 6 times! Of course, it happens that the projects that he advertises do not grow in price! he recruits a lot of projects, and of course they can not all be successful!

It really shucking to see some of these coins go into extinction....lots of money lost.

You are right, he has a lot of influence but i am of the opinion that most of his promotion is just for personal gains not for the good of the projects.

John McAfee can't be trusted, he will shill any project for money. Last time I heard it was 100k usd for him to shill your coin.

Yeah sure I lost some money because of the coin he promotes, I stopped following him since I noticed that they normally pay him to call out those coins and I am happy that he has quit the calling after SEC came for him for promoting those coins. We don't need people who encourage coin pump and dump in the crypto space.

If the project is not good then it will fail for sure no matter who promoted it. I think this is what has happened in this case.

John McAfee is the good influencer everyone know that but it doesn't mean if he is promoting some project than you must invest in that project and consider it will give you profit on investment. Do your own research too about the projects because these influencesrs does not do their promotions for free they charges money for their wotk.

He only receives money and promotes that ICO. simple. Most of the ICCs promoted by mcaffe are shitcoins. Prices go down below the ICO many times. And now almost no one believes him

Getting rich and famous leads to high expenses and they should struggle to cover this expenses, ! I have learnt not to trust promotions by influencers or ICO rates on ICOlists website, only trust yourself. ;)

Yes, it's true that he promote coins which have gained some reputation. But he should be more selective about the project he promote not just abot the money they pay him.

Some claims ha it that he does not accept the token he is promoting.

I can add Eristica ICO (https://eristica.com/#advisors) to this list, Eristica was promoted by John Mcafee and Stan Larimer. ICO was finished half year ago and still no any news about token listing.

It's true, many of the ICO'S that he promoted are having bad results right now. He had one that is doing well though, called Docademic. This coin had a 15X increase in price compared to the Ico price.

Docademic also collected not much. However, look what happened to the token price. Although Docademic looked better than KWHCoin and Finacoin. I'm more inclined to not trust his recommendations.

Just like centra back then when they paid mayweather to promote the ico. an ICO promoted by famous person doesn't mean auto profit, instead, it can be catastrophic so just beware.
Use logic and not just merely emotion, don't invest because it's advertised by famous people but invest because you see a future in the project.

This is why SEC was threatening JOHN to promote the more shitscam coin. He only cares about getting paid from those icos are using his service and he doesn't even care about the future of those are participating in the shit scam ico. He is a scammer in my opinion.  ::)

Most if you have money then you can hire celebrities to do it and this is against the rules of investing. I think if you are a real investor then you will not judge based on that criteria. Instead you will choose their development team or the way they work to develop the project, which will contribute to project development rather than hiring celebrities.

I never disagree with this base on the past experience. He had caused so many guys damage through the ICO. He only promoted shit coins but I think once everyone knows they should carefully do their own research before deciding on investing

John Mcafee is a major influence in the crypto community. But he advertises ICOs really bad. And as far as I know, he will be paid a great deal for that advertisement. So now almost no one invests in the ICOs he advertises

people used to trust Mcafee when they thought he really believes in projects he promote,but once they realized it's only because of money ,he lost his creditability . try to stay away from anything this man promotes . real projects don't need celebrity promotion !

Not surprising he is like bounty platforms take the money and make the campaign does not care if the project is scam or not. He takes the money and it is done.

I thought everyone knew that these ICOs pay John to promote their coins on his pages to his millions of followers. At this point I am still surprised that there are people who are still basing their investment decisions on what John says. He is a fraud, he collects money from scam coins, help them get people to invest in their coin and in the end it is the investors who lose their money.

Not at all, basically because I tend to ignore everything that he says, since he is obviously getting paid for promoting and not doing a bit of research. He is just burning everyone and I am very surprised for two reasons:
1 - He does not need it. He is sitting in a pile of cash as far as I know.
2- It no longer works. There is a limit to the number of times that you can burn people without loosing all credibility.

This guy is not out giving his honest opinions.  He is a paid shill that goes out and blurts out whatever gives him the most money.  Remember when Floyd Mayweather was touting Centra.  The best scams seem to have the biggest endorsers.  Never listen to a personality on tv or the internet and take advice from them.  May be better off doing the opposite.

Why did you trust McAfee in the first place? There are a few laws in crypto and one of them is doing your own research, so don't blame it on someone else if you did not do this properly

John McAafee posted an ad about paid advertising of ICO projects! About $ 250,000. I think not all projects that he advertises are good!

Ugh I'm guilty of listening to McAfee. I figured he was a name that could be trusted.  I won't be making that mistake again anytime soon.  Surprising though he would wreck his reputation in the crypto world for a few bucks.

He is getting 100k$ per tweet where he promote some shitcoin,dont really know how much is he asking for icos where he does more then 1 tweet.Dont really think that after all the stuff he did last months anyone takes him serious anymore...

I also one of the follower of John Mc Afee in twitter, and he was promote many different coin and ICO.  Before promote any ICO he should be know and understand fundamental of the project to avoid their follower loss money. John Mc Afee is good influencer that support blockchain technology and cryptocurrency and this is good for crypto market, because more influencer promote crypto, will be more demand for crypto as well.

He is hyping some  cryptos and because of his  influence many people can lose. Its like a bounty campaigns also,but he is popular already and he makes money about it. I remember that many ICO before that has a tag name " endorsed  by John McAfee". But really, he has influence.
