Hey guys. So recently I've been quite confused. I'm a crypto analyst enthusiast who joined the movement late last year. I've been engaging in bounties, airdrops and also trading as well.
I've also been blogging on steemit. I've been exposed to a while lot of things and I have a wide portfolio of Altcoins. A while lot of them. Numbering into hundreds.
But I don't own any bitcoin. Which is quite funny. So I've been wondering.
Is it advisable to own an amount of bitcoin??
Will it still go very high or it'll tank really well.

The possible bottom was assumed and has been reached. But you know what's best for you, you are a crypto enthusiast and for one year you have learned a lot. If you are comfortable of having hundreds of altcoin instead of bitcoin only it's up to you. There are holders that are more confident of having bitcoin only rather than having altcoins so it's for you to decide.

Wow that's interesting. thanks for your point. I really feel deep down that btc will go way high. and I don't really wanna miss out on that.

In crypto, you can own as many coin as you want as long as they are potential coin and has promising feature, you can buy them but it is also good to a have atleast small amount of bitcoin because bitcoin is a very potential and most valuable coin in crypto and the price will still grow higher than it is now even if it is low, this is just for a temporary period and it will still be high again. If you have spare cash and you really wish to have bitcoin in your portfolio, you can buy it now and hold.

Have you been buying bitcoin when it was down at $6,000? if you did then you are doing a great job. Don't feel FOMO if you just don't want to miss out the skyrocketing of bitcoin. Buy it because you know that one day bitcoin will become the most valuable investment (for most) and currency for online transactions. It's not only about buying and investing but it's also about your vision about bitcoin and for cryptocurrency as well.

Personally, I believe having both altcoin and potential altcoins in your portfolio is a very good idea, moreover, bitcoin is a very potential coin and it is even the oldest, most valuable and most dominated coin in crypto. Some altcoin may have advanced technology than it but I still believe it is very good to have atleast good proportion of bitcoin.

I think you should take both bitcoin and several altcoins. This is the best solution that can be. If you choose between two options, then I would buy some promising altcoins.

It is best to get some bitcoin since you already have a lot of altcoins. Sell some of your altcoin once it hits the peak, some altcoin will not survive for long since some will die some time soon. Some altcoins have no real purpose and are not developed well, which makes them die in the long run. So, it is still best to hold some bitcoin.

Yeah BTC is the best. Right now Alt movement doesn't follow BTC movement, BTC keep growing and stable but many coin right now are fall and only some coin that can grow.

Okay thanks a lot.. My fear is actually knowing which is will be a long term working and successful project. You might sell today and tomorrow the price is so high.. Could be quite sad

At this moment in time with the market where it is, it makes more sense for me to take the risk with alt coins due to the potential gain I can achieve with them.  If the market spikes and we start feeling toppy I will move from Altcoin to Bitcoin. 

The price of bitcoin has just started to recover and is still enough low. So, I think this is the best time to invest into it. You are not a newbie and is in this market for a long time. So, you are eligible enough to take your own decision. I have just placed my suggestion.

Yes sure, I will suggest you take some few profit and get into bitcoin, bitcoin is good to hold because it is world most recognized crypto currency, and anything that affects the bitcoin affects other altcoin, if bitcoin moon today other altcoin, will follow as well. I thought that you must need to learn more about FA of bitcoin. People are buying bitcoin caused by ETF approval soon. I guess you can diversify your investment amount into bitcoin and altcoin. But i guess it much better to do a lot of FA for both of coins. This will be really help you a lot.

Do not worry about this, and you can own Bitcoin whenever you want. Choosing Bitcoin is better than holding any other Altcoins because Bitcoin has a lot of potentials.

You should have bitcoin for higher profit and also exchange ( altcoin ) with swing strategy. You can buy it right now because bitcoin price action start up but in low volume, hold it for 3 - 4 month and use it for your activity. I believe bitcoin has chance to comes up because second top bottom already reached and mostly, all financial product will go up. Don't buy with all your asset just use 30% is enough. Keep learning because bitcoin and altcoin already change my life.

Yes, i think that you should have at least 20% of your portofolio into Bitcoin, and 10% into Ethereum for stability. As you saw, the price of altcoins can swing very much and some stability is needed for any good portofolio. Also, keep some fiat money in order to invest when prices are very low.

You should take the two options. You'll never know what the future brings. So it is good that you are prepared always.

It is quite obvious that Bitcoin is a coin that single handedly rules the cryptocurrency market which is why it will always be popular and will continue rising in popularity over time which will help it rise in value over the long term which is why I always consider it a safe investment. Invest only what you are willing to lose though. Altcoins are also great investments, but are far more riskier investments when compared to Bitcoin which is a high risk high reward scenario.

yes, I would advise you to have bitcoin from some fund.
because it is clear, bitcoin is still the first coin, other than very popular by many people, bitcoin does have a relatively stable price and it is a bit advantageous and minimize the risk.

I'm in the same situation. Unfortunately, I can't spend much money on cryptocurrency, I saved 50-100 USD each month and bought 1-2 altcoins. Now I've got lots of them, but I still have no bitcoin. I hold my funds in altcoins, in which I believe very much, but now it's about time I purchased bitcoin!

Sell your altcoins for bitcoin when the alts price will be good only (pumped) because all altcoins are shitcoins and it's better to have bitcoin in your wallet to wait for ETF's approval ;D

It is very difficult to make a choice. Switch some of your altcoin to BTC, if the coin's price is appropriate or close to the ICO price. So you have a chance to earn profits if bitcoin prices go up, let's just say investment.

Personally i think bitcoin is better than altcoin but in recent time altcoin also doing well. We know bitcoins growth rate is more than altcoin. So in near future bitcoin will reach $10000.Thats why I think bitcoin is the best option.

Its good that you invest in altcoins but it’s pretty good if you invest also in Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin and altcoins with a good potential is the best way to earn more profit. If you do this dude, for sure you can gain a lot of profit someday.

As for me, it is very strange to have a large amount of altcoins and not have any Bitcoin. Of course Bitcoin will continue to grow and it is still the most important, most expensive and most stable cryptocurrency for the time being and has absolutely no reason for it to disappear from the market. I think that this is the only coin that is not scary to hold for a long time.

If you afford to invest on both, do it. More coins to hold means more chance to jave a profit. But for me, if you'll only choose one, go for the altcoins as its price are more faster to change or have the ups and downs.

Yes. I would recommend you to invest in bitcoin as bitcoin has a bright future ahead. Though it has some pros and cons but you will be definitely benefited by it. Many countries and companies has accepted it . So you can try it also.

I think it's time you should earn Bitcoin. The market price of Bitcoin is rising slowly. The bear trend has come to an end and slowly the market is regaining back its previous position. I think it is a time when you should buy Bitcoins and hold them for long term investments.

That's being said as usual that there are altcoins that has advanced technology but what happened to those? where are they? they have advanced technology and they aren't noticed by the people. In this market, you have to have bitcoin as much as you can so that you can go along with the flow with whatever bitcoin is dictating the market. For example, you don't have bitcoin but look at the market bitcoin is rising and most alts are going down.

This really unbelievable that you do not have investment in bitcoin. Crypto currency market means bitcoin. You should invest on this and do not be worried about the price fluctuation. You will be able to earn profit from bitcoin.

I think for the last 1-2 weeks it is clear that it is better to have Bitcoin than altcoins) In general, it is necessary to diversify the portfolio. in my opinion it is a decision that you must take on your own because it is a way of your life, but for me personally I prefer to hold bitcoin because all altcoins will depend on bitcoin.

Definitely Bitcoin. ALTcoins are having unpredictable fluctuations recently wherease BTC has not only became stable but they are also recovering the current situation and growing at a fast pace.

There is no doubt that having bitcoin is the most profitable investment in this time. But as you are a crypto enthuseast I think you will understand better that what's good for you. Moreover, other Altcoins are also doing very good in recent times.

There is no where written that person needs to hold Bitcoin if he is crypto enthusiast and earn via it. Everyone has his/her own needs and has to make up strategy accordingly. I personally don't enjoy keeping Bitcoin, I hardly hold between 0.05 - 0.40 for urgency. Other than that, I love to enjoy market risks by hedging, spreading, dividing my money into different securities. I am from Finance background and it is kinda fun tracking each of your security, estimating returns, shifting money from one security to another, etc etc. As of now, I have money in around 120-125 cryptocurrencies along with Mutual Funds and Stock Market. So every person is  independent to make his/her financial strategy. You shouldn't worry the present hike in BTC price, every coin shows similar roller-coaster ride throughout year, no wonder.

If you have bitcoin with you there is no problem at all to you and actually you can see the profit only to grow more along with your money you invested on it. To say in comparison if you invest 500 USD in both bitcoin and other altcoins you will get the profit more in the bitcoin only. Even the growth ratio of the coin may higher than bitcoin but amount making with the money will be good enough than altcoins. Apart from bitcoin you want to invest you can go with the ethereum, Monero, zcash and neo.

Having alot of bitcoin is a safe heaven asset. If you owned alot of crypto then that's a good thing all you need to do is sell when altcoins occur. Buy the dip always and sell high to get profit.

Only you can decide what's best for you. As bitcoin's price is very high you have to invest a lot to gain profit but as altcoin's price is relatively low you can just invest and see what's happening. Now you decide by doing your research.

You would still end up on having a bitcoin in the time you decide to sell up your token either those tokens would be exchange or converted to ETH you would still possibly convert those coins to BTC in the end. I would say its much idea to hold up BTC yet this is the best crypto as of now when it comes to price we can see the potential on reaching up new heights when adoption rate would increase over time. You do have lots of altcoin holdings which you can hold 2 things at the same time.

Recently some expert, I forgot the name, said that every crypto investor should own atleast one bitcoin and then you can buy another altcoins. Because number of Bitcoins is limited, 21mil ;).

In crypto market you have to act smart and pro actively so personally im of the view that btc is entering a big bull wave and already we can see its dominancy increasing so it is time to pickup more and more btc to benefit from the next btc bulls.

As long as any altcoin is safe and have some good features you are good to collect them. But I think you should at first have some Bitcoin in your portfolio as this is the oldest and most valuable altcoin out there.

if this was true this amount and for some owners that having this some people own more than 1 so if you are taking to get atleast 1 for the recent price and you have nothing just to afford altcoin more patient is this about.

The reason why some people are taken Bitcoin for granted is because of the new gold rush in ICOs, but ut has been shown that 90% of these ICOs are dead, so why not have a stake in a sure thing. I believe there would be a time that holding one full BTC would make you a millionaire

Having different altcoin is good for you. Bitcoin is the most secure and potential altcoin right now. But you can go for other altcoins too.

Yeah that is funny how you ended up with altcoins first. I guess that will happen now since it is getting harder to get a bitcoin for the expensive price

It is getting harder. Demands will come up and soon price will shoot up also without us even noticing it.

You are lucky because I think of this time as still an early stage. Get it while you can, while it last, while it is still available in the market. Soon a large portion will be kept for a long time.

You see right now the market condition isn’t that well. But the price of Bitcoin is still on a rise. It’ll recover eventually and the amount of risk is minimal. So own more Bitcoin.

Right now Bitcoin is the best. I think as always. If you do some research you’ll see Bitcoin is continued to grow but most of coins are not. So definitely Bitcoin.

In my own opinion, it is good to own the both of them, for me I am holding bitcoin and some other altcoin and this is what is regarded as diversification of your portfolio it is important in cryptos

Don't be too focused in one crypto only. the more types of crypto owned will give better results too. so don't be too focused on other altcoins because of the bitcoin many have good development and sure enough worth to follow as an investment.

I think that everyone should buy and hold at least 40% of its own portfolio in BITCOIN, it's still the KING and if it goes up, others go up too and viceversa, it still leads crypto markets

Although I have zero bitcoin right now and am completely in alts I will be switching over to Bitcoin at some point once the market peaks again.  I will take this into consideration and always hold a bitcoin or two when I go on my Alt buying spees. 

I personally feel comfortable/safe holding bitcoin then any other altcoins. I do own altcoins as well as bitcoin but I do constantly think about converting my alts to btc. However to answer your question, it is advisable to own a bitcoin.

Hold onto your altcoins man especially the good ones they actually bring great fortune and likely to surpass bitcoin but maybe the ones you are not so sure sell them and buy maybe ETH or just invest

Having bitcoin will be great. So you can go for it. And as far as I know bitcoin is going to rise this year. It can cross a huge milestone so it is not a bad idea to have bitcoin. But do some proper research before buying.

Bitcoin has become more of an asset today especially for early adaptors were they can keep on holding until they want because it is near to zero possibility that Bitcoin will fall to a price lower than their entry price. So profit for them with Bitcoin is sure. But it is quite opposite for new Bitcoin users because of its current price. So I wouldn't suggest investing in Bitcoin if you will only chip in some pennies...if you know what I mean. You will need to have a huge amount to invest in order for you to feel profit. This is why I am more into alts than BTC because prices are more practical and that there is a lot of room for growth. Meaning, you can get more of your money's worth with alts! But of course, having a few BTC's wouldn't hurt.

From my point of view it’s a very good idea to keep both altcoin and bitcoin in the portfolio. As we all know bit coin is very good coin. It has huge popularity in the market. This is the oldest coin and most valuable. Some altcoin have some advantage but I believe on bitcoin.

Bitcoin is one of the most popular and more users to the community so I believe it will bring more profit in you. I prefer both to have bitcoin and altcoins so as wise move to invest into different big project.

Diversify your portfolio. At the moment I'm concerned that I'm at about 75% BTC, having sold out of a lot of alts in the last 6-12 months, but now I'm starting to see a healthier looking market I'm going to be considering trying to shift that to more like 40/50%

You can divide your finances into two parts. The first part you can invest in bitcoin, because in any case it will grow. And the second part of your money you can invest in altcoins.

Ill think must better to have more altcoins, Because they have so many altcoins for now appeared and some of the mare trusted altcoins that can holding up until the price of it will be going up.

I think that the most profitable way here will be to hold your money in BTC because its potential has not already been opened and I think it will raise for few times.

Btc is unpredictable now so I suggest you to invest and to buy alternative cryptocurrencies, they will bring you much more money and experience.
