About Bithereum

Bithereum is a coin that is created via forking the Bitcoin blockchain. BTH will function as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system similar to Bitcoin, however it will fuse with the technological roadmap of Ethereum to create a more technologically advanced version of Bitcoin which is structured around a PoS-influenced node incentive model called PoU, or Proof-of-Uptime.

The current issues plaguing Bitcoin are the community schism, scalability, and the rise of the mining cartel. The deep divide has pitted the once strong community against each other with no common ground on solutions for any of the current/future issues. In addition, the rise of ASICs and the 4 mining pools that dominate 61% of the hashpower create a level of centralization in consensus. Instead of sparring over on-chain and off-chain scaling solutions, Bithereum recognizes the importance of both, and will incorporate all-encompassing solutions.

Bithereum essentially creates an outlet for both Bitcoin and Ethereum, allowing BTC to take on its new role as digital gold, and allowing ETH to be used for its true purpose, as fuel for a worldwide computer that can contain a vast ecosystem of dApps on its platform. With the harmonization of Ethereum’s technology and Bitcoin’s vision, Bithereum will bring together the best of the two leading cryptocurrencies to create an unparalleled peer-to-peer digital currency.

The World's First Hard Spork

Bithereum is a coin that benefits both chains, becoming the first hard spork of its kind. Bitcoin was first hard-forked to make changes to the protocol, while Ethereum was hard spooned by taking a snapshot of the existing account balances of ETH holders to reward them in Bithereum. As BTH utilizes a significant portion of Ethereum's vision, unlike all of the other BTC forks, we will also be awarding all ETH holders with coins.

Proof of Uptime - Full Node Rewards

Bithereum rewards ANYONE who runs a BTH node, similar to how miners get rewarded for their work in every Proof-of-Work algorithm. We are officially introducing a new concept coined by the Bithereum Team, called “Proof-of-Uptime”, or PoU. In every other PoW system, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, there are a misalignment of incentives when it comes to full nodes. Though running a full node is absolutely crucial to the success of the network in the first place, there is no model in place to incentivize this, relying on people to be ideologically attached to a project rather than financially incentivized in the way that every miner is.

Everyone who runs a Bithereum node will be rewarded. The amount each full node will be awarded with will be based on their node’s uptime; the higher amount of uptime a node has, the higher their reward payout will be, however even a minuscule amount of uptime will generate at least some reward.

Check out our Proof-of-Uptime blog for more info: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/introducing-proof-of-uptime-7e91256aabf1

Community members guide to running a full node on Windows and Linux: https://bthfaq.com/

Redemption

Bithereum has introduced a mechanism that will give both BTC and ETH holders the ability to redeem BTH regardless of which chain their holdings reside on and with minimal work for each holder. Since we will be utilizing a significant portion of Ethereum’s vision, we want to give Ether holders the ability to stake their coins in the future as well. All ETH will be redeemable at the ETH:BTC price ratio at the time of the spork. The price ratio was 38:1, so for every 38 ETH you have, you can receive 1 BTH.

Since BTH will start out as a direct descendent of BTC, all BTC holders will be able to claim their BTH in the same way they would with any other fork of Bitcoin. Bitcoin holders will be able to redeem BTH at a 1:1 ratio with BTC.

Redemption distribution for ETH holders will happen at some point in the future. Stay up to date by joining our communication channels.

For our definitive guide to redeem BTH for both BTC and ETH holders you can refer here: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/btc-eth-holder-redemption-guide-for-bth-72d6632b04af.

More about the hard-spoon: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/bithereums-hard-spoon-snapshot-is-complete-c1814024ea9a

Improved Consensus

Blockchain is built behind the idea of a consensus network and the divide within BTC has hindered this. PoU prioritizes consensus in the blockchain.

Democratization

BTH began mining through an Equihash <144,5> Proof of Work algorithm, a democratized mining structure that brings mining back to GPUs.

Scalability

Rather than relying on one solution, BTH utilizes a multitude of scaling solutions including increased blocksize, segregated witness, Lightning Network, all the while exploring the future roadmap of Ethereum (Sharding, Plasma, etc.)

Replay Protection

A complete two-way replay protection mechanism will be implemented to ensure that holders transact on the correct chain.

I like the distribution structure of this coin 1 BTH will be equal to 10 ETH and will be distributed to BTC holders 1 : 1 but what is about exchange support you in touch with anyone who will support this hybrid fork. I have some on an exchange so I have to move them before this hard fork.

Thanks for the positive feedback! For pools, we're working on a fork of ZNOMP which will allow the community to run their own pools. It will be up on github in the coming weeks. As for exchanges, we will be engaging with many as we get closer to the launch and have our testnet fully up. For now, the best way to guarantee redemption is by redeeming via a 0 ETH transaction through a non-exchange wallet at https://bithereum.network/ethredeem. There are tutorials for each major eth wallet. We will post updates in regards to exchanges as we get closer to launch.

This sounds like a quite clever idea, however I am still failing to grasp its usefulness, except for it being the nth FIAT-CRYPTO process, aka the creation of new free crypto money from nothing for no clear reason :)

wondering that also. maybe need to read more about this project and check for the procedures to follow. i hope, they are supporting some of the exchanges as i dont want to move my btc just for this. otherwise, let go the bth distribution..
and do you really have physical office in dubai as stated from your website? might want to tap my friends over there to check you out guys.

We have a detailed plan on how we will implement a Casper-like Proof of Stake (with slashing conditions) atop a modified version of Bitcoin using various opcodes. However, we will first start with an Equihash 144,5 PoW algorithm before transitioning into full PoS. More detail can be found in our whitepaper!

A good idea is to create a hybrid of bitcoin and etherium. But, I would like to see in the coin one more function in my opinion. High anonymity of transactions. In this case, hackers will find it more difficult to act.

You'll be able to redeem upon our launch. BTC holders will be able to redeem on a 1:1 ratio like a normal fork, and ETH holders will be able to redeem on a price ratio of ETH:BTC at the time of the snapshot. The total supply is estimated at ~33M BTH, however this is subject to change slightly and exact total supply will be calculated at the time of the fork.

Hi everyone, check out our newest blog post which dives deeper into the solutions Bithereum is providing to combat Bitcoin's issues with their current PoW model and the centralization of mining.

Also, while the Bitcoin scaling debate has pit the community into opposing sides, side-chain scaling vs. on-chain scaling, Bithereum recognizes the value of both options, and will implement all-encompassing scaling solutions in addition to Proof-of-Stake.

Hi all, we just wanted to give everyone an update and let the community know that the team has been working diligently on the development of BTH. We are making great strides towards pushing BTH to testnet in the next few weeks, and will be beginning a developer bug bounty some time in the next month as well. We will also be releasing full details and documentation for miners interested in BTH as we get to testnet.

Soon afterwards, we will be ready for the snapshot and the occurrence of the world’s first hard-spork. Stay tuned everyone, Bithereum has a lot in store!

We are ecstatic to announce the launch of the first version of Bithereum’s testnet! Bithereum will always aim to be as transparent as possible to the community as we wish for everyone who is even the slightest bit interested in crypto, to be involved. Regardless of whether you are a dev (professionally or as a hobby) or if you are a miner (solo miner or run a large-scale mining pool), ALL are invited to join the Bithereum Testnet.

We have provided all resources necessary for developers and miners to experiment and play around with Bithereum prior to it being on mainnet in order to find issues, spread awareness, and get accustomed to the Bithereum blockchain.

For more info, check out our post about testnet here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5063939.0

Hi all, we have officially announced the date of our hard-spoon snapshot of the Ethereum blockchain, December 12th! This will lock in the BTH allocation for ETH holders based on the ETH:BTC ratio at the time and we will announce the Bitcoin block we will be forking off of. Once this is completed, the mainnet build will be pushed live so that miners and people running full nodes will be able to begin syncing. The hard-fork will occur approximately 2 weeks after the hard-spoon (~Dec 27th) , and mainnet will be live!

Yes, this coin will start as PoW then shift to PoS. We will be leveraging various opcodes and creating new opcodes to mimic a Casper-like PoS model. Upon it's introduction, it'll first be like you said, a PoW/PoS hybrid, but overtime will get closer and closer to pure PoS until it finally is.

It'll take some time to develop/implement which is why we're starting as PoW first, but you can check out our full Proof of Concept on implementing PoS on our Medium blog here: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/bithereums-proof-of-stake-concept-b06899fa4950

Also, I'm sure there will be pools for staking just as there are with mining, and we're even starting to see the preparation for Ethereum staking pools, such as Rocket Pool: https://www.rocketpool.net.

Yes, there are two mining pools ready which will be listed on the website soon along with Bithereum's mining pool:

Altpool: http://test-bth.altpool.pro

Equihub: https://bth-test.equihub.pro/

Yes, mining will begin around Dec 28th. We'll be taking the hard-spoon snapshot of Ethereum tomorrow (Dec 12th) and will be announcing the block number we will be forking off of Bitcoin within the next two days. It'll be approx. 2,000 blocks from a Bitcoin block height tomorrow which will estimate the mainnet launch ~Dec 28th then mining will be begin.

When will the full nodes appear in the net and will the wallet Core and Electrum  synchronize? Now there is no synchronization. It seems to me Web wallet  generates wrong address.

We have a few BTH full nodes syncing from BTC at the moment and will trigger the rest to sync at a certain block height. The address that you generate on our website is in Bitcoin format and starts with a "1". Bithereum format addresses start with a "B". However, since it's a fork of Bitcoin they share the same private key and it's easy to derive a Bithereum format address from a Bitcoin formatted one.

Even with this merger of BTC with ETH, in the future can some fork happen in the Bithereum network? And will there be some amount of Bithereum pre-miner?

We have a non-contentious hard fork planned in the future for our eventual shift to Proof of Stake, just like Ethereum's Constantinople and future planned forks of Ethereum. Yes, there will be a pre-mine. Contrary to many opinions, forks can be costly to develop, and there are no direct avenues of raising money such as with ICO’s. Therefore, a pre-mine is one of the few ways to support a fork’s development, especially to offset costs that took place prior to the fork and future development. We are self-funded and have taken zero investments.

It appears this person is trolling as his/her past few posts have been bashing other coins. However, we’re happy to touch on your question regarding what advantage we are presenting, as there are quite a few of them in which we go into detail on our site, whitepaper, medium blogs, etc, which you can feel free to read up on after this.

In a nutshell, we don’t believe in the long-term sustainability of Proof of Work, so we will be implementing a Proof of Stake consensus model built atop Bitcoin. Namely, this Proof of Stake model is based off of Ethereum’s Casper protocol as we believe this is the most sound PoS system out there. We believe, as well as Ethereum, that PoS will make the network faster, more efficient, and more secure. Bithereum also understands the benefits of both on-chain and off-chain scaling solutions and will incorporate all-encompassing solutions.

Our goal isn’t to use the popularity of Bitcoin and Ethereum for our own foolish gains, however its to bring together two incredible networks amidst all of the tribalism in the crypto space to bring something of value for all. Most people know the current issues that Bitcoin faces, including scalability, mining centralization, and the constant infighting of the community. These things are detrimental to the future of Bitcoin, and if they go ignored, BTC will most likely not realize its true potential as a P2P global currency. On the other hand, ETH wasn’t designed to be used as a P2P currency, but instead to be used as “fuel” for using dApps and executing smart contracts on its platform.

We love both Bitcoin and Ethereum, and want to provide an outlet for both platforms and help them succeed, so why would we not create something in order to help them both? Bitcoin will take on its new role as digital gold and be a strong store of value, while Ethereum will be used for its true purpose as a worldwide computer than can contain a vast ecosystem of dApps on its platform and bring decentralization to the world. Bithereum will then be here to be the P2P global currency that can bring crypto to the forefront of people all over, especially in countries where their economies are extremely poor and their people will rely on money such as this.

Another important thing to note as an advantage is our full node incentivization. At it’s current state, the ones who run full nodes for Bitcoin or Ethereum do so because they believe in the network, and receive some benefits of privacy. However, neither of these chains provide an incentive for these people to run full nodes like they do with people who mine. Since full nodes are of paramount importance to keep the chain alive, Bithereum is introducing a mechanism called Proof of Uptime which will reward anyone who runs a full node to earn BTH. This isn’t like master nodes where you need to have a X amount of a certain coin, but it’s unique in that anyone in the world who runs a full node will get rewarded.

I hope this answer explained enough of how we’re differentiating from not only Bitcoin and Ethereum, but from the previous forks of Bitcoin as well. We still have quite a ways to go in our development, as this is just the beginning, but we have big plans for the near term and long term future success of Bithereum.

Looking for info on where and how to get a bithereum address, or convert bitcoin address? Website links have provide a bitcoin address starting with "1" and looking for a "B" address. Trying to get it sorted before mainnet goes live.

On a side note : has mainnet gone live? on BTH.altpool the "network" hash and difficulty has skyrocketed in the last hour yet the "pool" hash itself is not showing anything, and bithereum.explorer is still offline?

Mainnet is still not yet active and use Guarda if you want a wallet addy quick :)

However, to gain profits from PoS in the future a full node is required from what I understand.

Main net will go live once the nodes have synced which will happen within 24 hours or so.. :)

Yes, the address you generate on the site starts with a "1" which is Bitcoin format, Bithereum format addresses start with a "B", they share the same private key and you can convert between the two addresses, which we're hoping to provide a quick converter soon. Alternatively, you can import that private key into our Electrum wallet or Guarda and it will provide you with the "B" address, or you can create a fresh address through Electrum or Guarda.

Mainnet has not gone live yet, we're working as quickly as possible to get our BTH full node synced with BTC blocks up to 555,555 which is taking longer than anticipated, however rest assured it will be completed soon. The hashrate and difficulty shown on BTH.altpool is for testnet, and will correct to mainnet and bithereum.explorer will also be up once we're live. These metrics being shown on altpool therefore have nothing to do with how mainnet will start as difficulty resets.

After we successfully sync our node we'll wait for the pools to sync as well before we start mining so no one who is mining BTH for the difficulty reduction will miss out on the opportunity.

We appreciate the patience and support from the community!

As far as PoS goes, our model does not require running a full node and is separate for someone to participate in staking. You can check out our proof of concept here: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/bithereums-proof-of-stake-concept-b06899fa4950 This model may change as we begin development and tests as we aim to get this in place in a year's time.

And yes, mainnet will go live once the nodes have synced and all the other pool's nodes have synced as well. Stay tuned for when mining will begin!

We're working to get our full node fully synced with BTC blocks up until block 555,554. There were a few issues we came across during the process which we have been tirelessly aiming to resolve and mainnet should be up and running by the end of the coming week. That's when mining will begin. We'll keep everyone posted on the progress!

Our syncing issues have been resolved, now we’re finishing up syncing additional nodes for others to sync from. We also have a 210 GB bootstrap file that we are working on providing pools with by today/tomorrow; updated code will be pushed on our GitHub soon as well. We will aim to mine the first block today to trigger syncing across the network for everyone and then pause mining and wait for the pools to finish syncing to restart the network. Once we mine the first block, it will be entirely dependent on how fast pools sync, but rest assured, mining will begin prior to the end of the week. Once the network is up, it will go straight into the massive difficulty reduction for the first 20,000 blocks so stay tuned!

We've officially mined Bithereum's "genesis" block (block 555,555) and we are excited to say that this coincides with Bitcoin's genesis block's 10 year anniversary! We have since stopped mining after the second block (block 555,556) and are now working on recompiling our builds and finalizing our mainnet infrastructure.

We will be providing pools with our 210 GB bootstrap file along with our full nodes they can sync from by the end of tomorrow. Pools can then begin syncing and once this is complete, Bithereum's mainnet mining will officially commence. Once the network is up, it will go straight into the difficulty reduction window!

Bithereum is here!!!

We're working to get the windows wallet for 18.9 up and has nothing to do with us mining before fixing the issues, we're not even mining at all ;D. Guarda is also making an update soon that will properly show balance and allow sending/receiving BTH.

FYI:

BTH on CREX24 is NOT US. DO NOT BUY OR SELL BITHEREUM ON CREX24!! This is another project bithereumcoin, which released their ANN days after us and has no dev since July of 2018. This coin is not us and you will end up losing your money if you buy or sell that coin. Exchanges that support Bithereum (BTH) will be announced when they become available. We already have integration with a number of exchanges.

If you imported a BTH priv key after creating your guarda wallet then that address will be BTH2. Guarda is still working on it's complete integration with BTH and getting up a few more nodes so in the meantime things may appear to be slow until then.

This is most likely due to Guarda's full node not being completely synced yet. As soon as it syncs it should reflect your full balance.

is staking possible? or only POW mining for now?

Staking is in the pipeline, as it's the goal for the project to eventually shift to PoS. For now it's GPU mining (Equihash 144,5 algo) until PoS is implemented, and will start as a hybrid PoW/PoS until pure PoS.

Confirm! The same problem.

Don't worry everyone, Guarda is resyncing their node and balances will show again when that process is finished and sending will be activated. People are already reporting that their balances are showing up again so this should be resolved soon.

Once Guarda confirms to us that everything is complete and sending is enabled, we will post another update here.

Unfortunately we have no bearing over exchanges integrating BTH and the time it takes to do so. We have provided everything they need in order to list BTH, and we have been told that integration is underway, so we expect it should be done within a weeks time. Exchanges also have a backlog of other projects that they are integrating so things move slower on their end based on this. Updates will be announced as progress is made.

As far as the wallet goes, it is only Guarda that people appeared to face issues, as Guarda is resyncing their node. Once that process is complete, all balances will be shown and sending will be activated. All other wallets including Electrum, and full node wallets for Linux, MacOS, and Windows are not facing balance issues and are running properly.

Downloaded this one (https://github.com/BTHPOS/BTH/releases/tag/v0.18.8) but doesn`t sync...

What should I do?

I am mining to a address generated with wallet v0.18.8 will I have problems?

Thank you.

Windows wallet for 0.18.9 will be released soon. An address generated from 0.18.8 will work for the latest version

imported a BTC priv key into Guarda and the balance is 0.
I'm sure I had balance at the fork block.
Is this a guarda problem?

Yes, this is most likely a Guarda thing, but this should be resolved soon when we get our Insight explorer up and running and Guarda starts syncing from that. In the meantime, you can import the priv key into Electrum or a full node wallet if you're comfortable with that in order to ensure that your balance is in that address.

Thank you very much. Full node rewards will be dynamic, with variables such as uptime percentage and how much BTH is in your wallet that will determine rewards (an early early form of PoS, but we're calling it Proof of Uptime). More information will be coming out in the coming weeks.

Confirmations for transactions have been moving relatively quick, if you're referring to confirmations for block rewards those require 100 blocks to pass before they can be sent.

Sending has officially been enabled in Guarda's web wallet. However, it's a little slow because it’s linked to our explorer, which is delayed. We'll be providing them with a new Insight explorer in the next few days. Once they have that, everything will update quicker in terms of balances and sent transactions. We will post the new explorer here when it’s ready. https://guarda.co

Also, we are officially in the testing phase with ZelCore for BTH! Anyone who held BTC in their ZelCore wallet at the time of the BTH fork will be credited with BTH at a 1:1 rate with BTC. It will be officially released in the very near future when they push the next update. https://zelcore.io

Going to be honest, probably in over my head. This all sounds very good but is this real? If so, if BTH has such a problem with how BTC achieves consensus with 4 mining pools controlling  61% hash power therefore minting a majority of the new blocks, why give them the higher ratio of coins? Simply to encourage a higher value for BTH? Just curious.

How to import Guarda keys in Windows-wallet 0.18.9?

On Guarda, you'll have to go to "Export by Currency" in "Backup by Keys", find BTH, then enter your password to see your private key. It's recommended that you save this private key somewhere secure if you're going to be transferring it, in order to prevent someone else from accessing this key.

You can then enter that private key into the Windows Wallet by running this command:

beth-cli.exe importprivkey "privatekey" "labelforkey" false

Replace "privatekey" with your private key you got back from Guarda, and replace "labelforkey" with a name of your choosing. The false option ensures that the import doesn't do a full rescan so make sure that's there or else you'll have to wait for a rescan of the entire blockchain which could take hours to days.

We hope this is real and haven't wasted over a year developing something that isn't real ;D (we checked, it's real)

Our belief is that PoW coins in general face a centralization problem, which is why our plan is to switch to Proof of Stake. In the meantime, while we're PoW and PoS is being developed, by changing the mining algorithm from SHA-256 to Equihash 144,5 this can remedy the possibility of ASICs dominating the mining efforts in order to keep a level playing field amongst miners. This isn't a perfect solution by any means, but we believe this is the best route for mining prior to staking.

When you say higher ratio of coins are you referring to the block subsidy? If yes, then we reversed a halving period in order to double the block subsidies to entice more miners and create a strong network as we gear up towards the PoS shift.

If you're referring to the ratio of 1BTC:1BTH and 38ETH:1BTH, this is due to the price ratio of ETH:BTC at the time of our hard-spoon snapshot of Ethereum. As it's a Bitcoin fork, BTC holders will naturally be able to redeem at a 1:1 ratio with the amount of BTC they had prior to the fork block, since the blockchain is the same as Bitcoin's prior to block 555,555. Using the price ratio of ETH:BTC for the ETH:BTH ratio made the most economical sense at the time since ETH's supply is far greater.

The issue itself is not that they're accumulating more coins because those miners are minting a majority of new blocks, it's that those mining pools contain the power over the network and could potentially collude. Of course, the mining pools will most likely decide not to tarnish the network or all of the wealth they accumulated will vanish, however the point is that we're still leaving the power of the network up to 3/4 mining pools and hoping they act in the best interest of the network, which goes against the decentralized nature of Bitcoin.

Proof of Stake makes it far more difficult to collude and accumulate over 50% of staking power which greatly decreases the centralization of consensus.

We're putting the final touches on the full node rewards program and we should be getting it out by next week, with the payout cycle starting on the 22nd, and the first payout being March 1st.

For those of you who are interested in earning BTH for running a full node, it's recommended to start running your full node now to get it synced by the first pay cycle.

We'll be posting a blog next week with all of the details!

Yes, you need to allow inbound connections. Having slow internet connection is fine, the rewards are based around uptime, as long as you're up you'll get rewarded.

I'm sure you already know how, but we'll be putting out a tutorial on how to enable port forwarding that will allow inbound connections.

We're working to get the Bithereum Node Launcher up by the beginning of next week. The node launcher will make it easy for people who may not understand the technical ins and outs of setting up a full node.

If you would like to run a full node you will have two options: running an archive node, or running a pruned node.

An archive node is a full node that contains every single block within the BTH blockchain, and is suitable for someone who has the additional disk space for it (212 GB). A pruned node on the other hand, stores a specified amount of blocks at any given time and is suitable for someone who has less available disk space (between 16-32 GB).

In the coming days we'll be providing tutorials on how to use the Bithereum Node Launcher and how to set up an archive node and a prune node.

Feel free to ask us any questions!

Hi all, we just wanted to let everyone know that the explorer is down currently and may remain down for the next half a day or so. We are making some updates and upgrading servers; we ask that everyone bears with us in the meantime. Thanks!

We're in the process of reindexing our insight node, this has temporarily disabled the explorer, which should be up in a day or two. Most likely the wallet you're using is Guarda or Zel which is reliant on our insight node. If you were to use Electrum or a full node wallet your balance should be displaying. Pool payouts are issued through a full node as well so there should be no issues. Apologies for the inconvenience and our insight explorer should be back up soon, please bear with us.

Yes, our insight node finished reindexing and now it's reconstructing the chainstate. As you mentioned, the status displayed on https://insight.bithereum.network shows its up to block ~209,332 (and counting) ~2% of the chain, so once the chainstate completes its reconstruction it will be good to go, and we'll have a backup at all times: http://insight2.bithereum.network/status (this is ~58% completed).

We updated the PoU blog you linked, but most of the information is available there. As far as payouts go, we're in the process of finishing our Full Node Launcher which will check uptime and reward payouts automatically. Until then, uptime and payouts will be a manual process and there's a Google form in the blog you can fill out to make sure you earn your rewards for running your BTH node.

As far as CMC goes, we have applied and are in talks with them regarding being added to their site, we are just waiting on the insight node being fully up again to proceed any further.

The best/fastest way to speak with us directly would be in our Discord: https://discord.gg/wbsnuGN

The explorer hasn't functioned even though many miners await, the team must immediately update this so that explorers have the function and service to run well so that many works normally and many are interested.

Maning  this coin for 2 weeks. I cannot sell on the stock exchange because there are no trades. All trades are fake. The bot itself sells and sells. Now I lower the price as much as possible and the bot repeats after me. Miners don't dig this shit. Wasting time.

Our insight node is ~43% completed on the reconstruction of the chain state, and our backup node is ~63%. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. If the issue stems from using Guarda wallet then you have the option of using Electrum or a full node wallet, as this isn't reliant on insight, so your transactions will go through. The update was needed for this insight node so this short inconvenience will be in the best interest for the long-term.

Yes, we've addressed this to the community as we were upgrading our insight node/explorer. Originally the insight node was hosted on AWS and we wanted to no longer be reliant on that. We'll also have a backup so in the future we'll never come across an issue such as this where the explorer will be down. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience and ask the community to bear with us as we get this out.

If you also don't want to wait you can feel free to spin one up and run it yourself if you have ~500GB space as it's open source: https://github.com/BTHPOS/insight  ;D

The issuance for week 1 of Bithereum's Proof-of-Uptime full node rewards went out today!

Bithereum is bringing back the importance of full nodes through incentivization where ANYONE who runs a full node can earn rewards. Not just those who lock up a large portion of a coin like masternodes; you can earn full node rewards even if you have zero BTH.

This is something we've been consistently communicating to everyone regarding the insight node/explorer. We needed to make an upgrade and unfortunately didn't have a backup like we will from here on out. Yes, typically one can sync the whole blockchain in 4-5 days depending on their internet connection and what peers they're syncing from.

This scenario doesn't apply to our situation, this is an insight node we're hosting which has more data than a regular full node, ~500GB as opposed to 220GB for a normal node. We ran a -reindex in which the node had to wipe the chainstate and block index, then reconstruct itself from block 0. Currently the main insight node is ~72% completed. Yes, this has taken longer than we hoped for however it was a needed upgrade which we told everyone about.

As mentioned, from here on out we will have a backup to avoid any situations like this.

PoU is not ready, but start 22.02. Node launcher not ready, and no any code on github.

PoU has begun, and we issued the first payout this past Monday, next payout will occur on the coming Monday and will continue to be a weekly reward for those running full nodes. The node launcher which we are now calling the Node Management Tool is being finalized and will be available shortly. Once this is ready, uptime checks and payouts will be automated. Currently we're doing things manually, but we wanted to start prior to the Node Management Tool being completed as there were already people running full nodes and we wanted to start the rewards.

No normal exchanges.
P2pb2b spam fake volumes, can't buy or sold this coins.

As far as exchanges go, we are not the exchanges. If you have any issues with exchanges you can speak to them directly. The admins for the exchanges have been helpful and responsive to the members of our community. We understand we're only on two exchanges, however getting listed is not up to us, and getting listed on "normal exchanges" typically requires paying a hefty fee, and we'd rather spend our own resources, as we're a self-funded project, to create a chain that brings long-term value.

My node works from 14.02, but I miss to fill the form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe5ks27J1zJyrtOcDUgm7UGYClkw03-6dmASqT1Eytn_h6_ug/viewform?usp=sf_link and gets nothing. Send a messages to devels on this forum and discord and try to get payout (I have logs from my node, but they don't care) and nothing. My node seeding all time with uptime ~100% and uses ~1TB of traffic from start.

As mentioned to you in our direct messages, this form was needed to be filled out in order to participate in PoU until the Node Management Tool is completed, in which case that will be needed for PoU. We did our best to let everyone know the process for receiving full node rewards for weeks 1 and 2 prior to the Node Management Tool being completed. Unfortunately, you didn't fill out the form until after week 1's payouts so we had no way of checking your uptime for week 1, regardless of if you have logs or not.

We even discussed through direct message that to settle this issue we would reward you with extra BTH for week 2 out of good faith, in which you agreed to, so it's not a matter of us "not caring" because we do care, and we agreed on a solution to combat the issue of you filling out the form after week 1's payouts.

I remove my node and sell all coins, if you need this, pm. No need to time wasting for this.

We don't wish to see you go and we certainly understand your frustration. These are all issues that we've been transparent about and communicating through our various channels. Just know that PoU is in its infancy only being a week and a half in, and our team is working day in and day out to provide everyone with the tools needed to make this as easy and seamless as possible for everyone to run a node and get rewarded for it.

Week 2 payouts for PoU have been distributed! Like last week, we gave out max rewards to everyone since the explorer is still down. The explorer is at ~84% done at block 524,935, we know it's taking a while but as mentioned, once it's up again, we'll always have a backup to make sure the explorer doesn't go down if we need to update our insight node. Thank you to everyone for your patience.

Soon, the Node Management Tool, formerly referred to as the full node launcher, will be completed and this will be needed for issuing PoU payouts as this will automate the payouts and checking uptime.

A preview of the node management tool can be found here: https://twitter.com/BithereumBTH/status/1104138860659908608.

We're very excited to get this out because it will make PoU super easy to be a part of with managing your nodes and adding new nodes, as well as being able to refer others to get you and someone else some additional BTH.

The insight node has completed rebuilding the chainstate and the explorer is back up: https://insight.bithereum.network/. We also have a backup so in the event we need to update our insight node again, the explorer won't go down. Guarda should now be working as well since they use our insight api to display balances and send/receive BTH.

Our payouts for full node rewards for Week 3 will now be based on balances since we'll be able to pull that info from the explorer.

Your explorer incorrectly displays the actual wallet balance.

The explorer is up-to-date and is displaying everything properly, as we've used it to issue the previous PoU payouts which have all been correct.

It appears you moved 4854.32545244 BTH the day before the PoU payouts: https://insight.bithereum.network/tx/ce8a9351735be4dac6ec15b54e6e5c19aeaba5300d1eed248ab5109a0bbdb2ea

You will receive the 25 BTH next payout if the BTH remains in that wallet, or if you wish to change the address you'll have to let us know. Hope this clears things up!
Why paid 15 BTH for the full node. Must be 25 BTH.

There is a different coin on Crex24 that uses the BTH ticker that is not us. We wanted to make sure to be clear about this so no one trades BTH on Crex thinking it's us since the BTH on Crex24 appears to be a dead project. PoU payouts distributed for this week, 181 nodes! The node count has increased week over week since PoU has begun.

The source code for the node tool is now on github: https://github.com/BTHPOS/node-management-tool.

As soon as we finish up the builds for mac/windows/linux and run a few more tests we will push this out to the community.

The node tool will make it super easy to keep track of all of your nodes plus you'll earn rewards for referring others to run a node as well, stay tuned!

Check out one of our recent tweets previewing the Bithereum Node Tool: https://twitter.com/BithereumBTH/status/1144720960530071552

The Bithereum node tool is an absolute game changer for crypto; with just a few clicks and 4GB of space you can be running a node and start earning crypto weekly. Run multiple nodes, if you have the storage capacity, to earn even more. There's nothing like this in the space, coming in just a few days!

I am super excited reading the article which is written on the technical price analysis of Ethereum here: https://all-stocks.net/ethereum-price-technical-analysis-september-25-the-bears-prompt-the-panic-phase/ See the pivot table as well. Overall, Ethereum is doing great so far.

We're big supporters of Ethereum, our initial motivation was to incorporate an Ethereum-esque Proof of Stake model atop a modified version of Bitcoin. However, Bithereum itself is a fork of Bitcoin, and has no resemblance to Ethereum in terms of smart contract functionality, and is naturally a peer-to-peer payment system. Our main difference comes from the network rewarding those who run full nodes, unlike most Bitcoin derivatives, as we feel running a node is just as (if not more) important as mining. We call this Proof of Uptime, which is a term/system we created ourselves, and you can read more about that here: https://medium.com/bithereum-network/bithereums-proof-of-uptime-v2-0-69da7c1ca17
