Title: Do you keep all your bounty coins or you convert some to ETH and BTC?
Post by: Dacosta Osei-Tutu on July 25, 2018, 09:22:58 AM
Coins like BTC and ETH have proven beyond reasonable doubts that they are the best and more safer coins to invest. My little advice is that, whenever you get your altcoins, it would be better to convert at least one third to either BTC or ETH to serve as some form of insurance to your tokens in case it fails to survive. I used to keep all my altcoins and now that the market is red it has badly affected my investment. And mind you, those new altcoins are not like BTC and ETH, they can get zero volume anytime so they are not reliable. Is there any other person with a different view or everybody agrees with me?

I changed all my tokens into BTC because I believe in the future of BTC.
The BTC is still worth investing in because there are a lot of institutional investors looking at it.

If i believe in a project i will keep the tokens. I'll probably trade everything else in btc and eth.
I also believe btc and eth are safer than most tokens on the market.
Thats why i agree with you.

Most times i sell them and exchange for fiat, but recently i have learned a new skill

i sell them, buy back same quantity at cheap cost and then i convert the profit to fiat and enjoy the profit and both the investment for another of pump
Thats the sequence that has to be followed.

I think i like your strategy and would love to buy into it. But my question is, what are you going to do in case that particular coin never drop down below the price you sold at first?

Yes. will sell them all as they were listed at the first exchange. I'm not interested in any new tokens so I will never hold them

I agree, but there are some people like me, who actually converted all altcoins received into btc or eth, but most likely I converted my altcoins to bitcoin, I prefer holding it than ethereum.

As i got the bounty coins i tried to convert those in other some reliable coins, if the bounty is good then i like to keep the coins as it is, every bounty coins are not long term hold coins  so it is better to exchange them with BTC etc.

Definitely convert it if it worth more than I can expect because bounty coins is not easily predictable and trackable since I knew that bounty hunters will just selling right away once hit exchange.

And then the only possibility for you to move into another coin if that will never go back to that price and it will be wasting a lot of time.  There are dozens of altcoin that you can try to choose one that makes you feel interested in it.

that situation has already happened in my life and that's the only choice for you.

With the rampant cases of tokens going below their ICO price after listing on an exchange, it's only wise to keep some and sell some. You could decide to keep a lot and the value goes totally down making you lose value for the time invested in acquiring the tokens.

It depends on the price that will be on the market. If she completely suits me, then I will sell all the coins, and if not then I will keep everything. I participate in those projects where I am sure and if the price does not suit me now, then I better wait. Personally, I did not have such experience that my coins were almost completely devalued.

The other bounty I received was immediately replaced by Ethereum or BTC especially when its price was low. It will be accumulated until I accumulate a lot of bitcoin and ethereum. Because I know that in the months or years the price will increase and I can recover from all my losses.

Of course hodl it.. new released coins wont be high in price, especially after bounty hunters do mass dumping. I think it just not worth the effort if you sell those coins immediately. When their prices goes up again, then we can consider to sell it..

There are just some coins I support that is worth keeping though which is why I didn't try to convert it to ETH or BTC. I'm more of ETH whcih I'm confident to be one of the best to invest with. When you see some project that is very much supported by certain community, you stick to it because you will have more profit than just having few coins. I certainly prefer to have at least 10K MDX than 16ETH, that is precisely no contest.

I try to sell right away when I feel that the price is at its maximum. So at any moment the token can depreciate and the earnings will be 0.

Your idea is good. This is the right advice for diversifying your risks. Bitcoin and Ethereum are indeed the most stable and popular coins relative to the rest.

I divided the tokens received by the bounty thread into two categories, the first of which was my preferred token, so I would hold them for a long time.
The second is that I don't see good tokens, so I will sell them in USD as soon as possible.

i don't see any reason why someone holds a bounty coin that they receive. specially in its initial release phase because majority of these tokens have no future and will die sooner or later which means there is only a downtrend ahead of you who holds them but also even if these tokens were to rise their initial step is to get dumped first before rising back up.

I'll just hold it and keep bounty coins from my wallet. and I have a target price before I convert it. because if you see your coins as good and worth it in your effort, time and patience I am sure that it feel happy to keep and reached a target price then exchange it to the ethereum or bitcoin when the price of all coins in the market are doing good. and create an small business.

Usually people exchange their earned coins in Bitcoin or Ethereum, or at all exchange them in real money. Due to this coin sharply falls in price, it makes me also bring out my coins to not lose them forever. And at the moment I did not regret it, because no one of my coin did not particularly succeed.

I agree with your statement to some extent because here you didn't mention the coins value because it all depends on the particular coins value by which we need to decide whether we need to exchange the bounty coins with ETH/BTC or we need to hold it. The right example are coins like Electroneum, Tron, Golem which were having low prices at the starting point of the bounty campaigns and people who exchange them earlier got fewer returns than people who held, and I personally use the bounty coins as an investing capital and I don't mind if it is a small number of coins.

If I earn lot of money when I count it in $, I sell it and transfer it to ETH, Riple, Stelar or something like that. If my bounty is something like 50-200$ I keep it on wallet in that token.

I sell a part of tokens right after entering the exchange, and I leave a part for the growth prospect. The more promising the project, the more tokens I hold for a long term.

I hold profits from bounty campaigns in tokens only when I regard them as promising. For example, now I store IOS tokens, as I have reason to believe that their price will grow significantly. But there are tokens from which you can hardly expect a bright future. So I usually change them to Bitcoin or Ethereum a few weeks after the end of the bounty.

Converting it to bitcoin and ethereum at this moment is what I think is the right thing to do. Ethereum and Bitcoin are now having continuous increase on their market value which means trading your altcoins or token rewards into eth and btc will give you a higher chance to earn profit as the increase continues.

also on how are you able to make this on your way of saving you should store it for but if really need it some other point you are taking to be more about interesting on selling and convert this for but if you really have something to do with it well a better patience of holding and store it for.

I sell most them and buy another alts if I find the bounty token underwhelming but if I find that the coin/token is good then of course I will continue to hold it. It's the same as other coin that I've bought, if I find another project better in term of potential then I will sell it and buy that coin instead. I like ether more so I usually convert my coin eth.

I always do different things based on my own belief in the project. If I like the idea, the team, the realization is the hold of the entire amount received from the bounty. If the team does not behave very well (delays payments, does not provide adequate information), converts all tokens into more recognizable currencies.

Converting at this moment would be an advantage because the market value of Bitcoin and ethereum are both vontinuously increasing. Therefore, converting and holding into these two huge cryptos would more likely to result in profit. But it would still depend on your assumptions as an investor on which one would be better.

I sell all my bounty tokens whenever I need the money urgently and HODL only when I don't have any immediate money requirement. HODLING has never been a problem for me since I have had positive HODLING in the past and I prefer HODLING over day trading whenever possible due to the low stress involved. When I do sell my bounty tokens, I convert them into BTC and withdraw them to my bitcoin wallet right away and proceed to convert it into FIAT.

It depends on the coins/tokens I get. If it is worth holding then I will hold it as long as I can.  But if the coins/tokens I get from bounty are not that good, then I will surely sell it as soon as possible. It is always a good idea to hold, but you have to choose which one is worth holding.

I agree with your idea mate because I usually do that with my Altcoin funds. I also like to convert my Altcoins into Bitcoin or Ethereum because they are accepted by our local exchange so it is easy for me to convert them into fiat if I needed money for my daily needs. Nowadays Altcoins most especially tokens from bounties aren't safe from correctikn just like what had happened to my previous holdings that dropped like hell.

Perhaps it's best to immediately sell all your coins / tokens and translate them either into eth or btc. Few projects are shooting, so that you regret it. And it will be safer for you and your nervous system.

Now it is almost impossible to find a project with a really bright future. After unlocking koin, usually the cost of their rapidly falling, so that holding them is a big risk. I do not like to take such risks, so I recommend selling them and transferring them to more popular altcoins, or bitcoin.  ::) ::) ::)

i think it depedns on how the project goes or planned, get involved by community is the important thing to know how the project run, as long as developer improve and build the project continously and supported by strong community it will make the price are potentially to grow. unless you convert it to bitcoin or ethereum i would like to say hold it for long term period investment and be patient for the trend's market.

Because i dont want to miss in case the price skyrockets, I usually sell half of what I receive  to convert to ETH and fiat ( for my personal expenses) and leave the rest of the half to my wallet (if tokens received is more than 1k)  but If I only receive small amount of tokens. I usually sell them all to save gas fees.

And I hold coins if I trust in the project and I believe that it will be successful.
But of course there are projects which seem to me suspicious. Even if the coin of this project trading on an exchange and costs not less than on ICO. I convert such coins into ETH or others perspective altcoins.

It seems to me that Bounty Hunter's best strategy is to sell unwanted coins and buy etherium and Bitcoin. In any case, the token, which will have good prospects in the future, is best left.

it is reasonable to sell your bounty token immediately after ICO when the market is too much worse than we though. so i think if we market is dropping, we can exchange our tokens into ETH or BTC to ensure profit or until the price goes up, it may have chance to become the best in the future. however to my opinion, we should sell our tokens as soon as possible because there are not much altcoins can  rise for long term.

They say after the platform release the specific token starts to increase due to its demand but it always falls on the ICO or altcoins, OP is right you should convert some but not all of them to have some assurance that you will not miss out any moon or pump from the token trading as the price can get beyond the price of the ICO as per experience or worst the volume gets 0.

I usually do half and half when the time is right.
Such as if my bounty coin will enter the new exchange, usually the price will go up, i sell a half to eth or BTC.

Title: Re: Do you keep all your bounty coins or you convert some to ETH and BTC?

I keep them. First of all, a lot of altcoins you get after ICO launches aren't even listed on most of the exchanges. Second of all, I don't know how about you, but the coins I received weren't worth anything. For instance, I got lots of ShiftCash coins, but they all are worth about 1 USD, what's the point in converting them into ETH, to have 0,0021 ETH? On the other hand tokens can increase in price unexpectedly, like it has happened with TTV, and they'll be much more worthy. But, whenever you have a non-popular coin which has suddenly started to increase - I agree that the best thing to do is to sell it off, or convert into top coins, as the chances that such a coin will keep up the price are very low.

Just dispose those altcoins that has no volume in exchange so you're saving your time, your hope and effort by not keeping that coin anymore.

And it's a good move if you'll convert not only 1/3 of it but as much as possible half or more than that to make your portfolio's better and more secure.

The ones that are crying when bitcoins surging are the ones who doesn't have it on their portfolio's so if you want to be one of them, hold alts but if not then start buying bitcoin.

convert into a bitcoin ethereum nor indeed is a good thing, in fact, is also a secure way because it is potentially crypto for the future. But if the coin from the bounty that is owned is promising and has the potential for development is good naturally better hold only. When it reaches the high prices will certainly be able to give results that are quite satisfactory.

The rest turned into ETH when I felt its project was not feasible.

I made bad decision and sold all of my bounty tokens for few hundred bucks if I could have held them for a week of so I could have thousands in my hand. My advice is just hold your tokens and wait for major surge in it's price than sell on peak, but don't get too much greedy.

I am guilty and I admit that I am one of those who joins bounties and airdrops and as soon as the token get listed in an exchange, I sell them right away. Compare the price of a token once listed versus price of token after 3 months. Majority I guess will see the price is when it was listed is higher compared to the price after 3 months. So I convert it to BTC or ETH and invest on another project.

There are a lot of people out there who like you are selling cryptos right away when getting from the ICO bounty. This is understandable because their psychology fears that the fall in exchange rates will lead to losses. So that you exchange from Token ICO to BTC and ETH when receiving the Token from ICO bounty.

Some will stay and some converted to ETH then for BTC.

I guess I just cannot hold longer when it comes to altcoins. Sorry to say but it is because of trust issues. They are more prone to be dumped because of their cheap prices. Even small investors become whales with the amount that they have and when they sell, it reflects into the price immediately.
Trading it would be better than just holding for a long time. Learned my lesson through experience.

It all depends on the particular project or the cryptocurrency. I sell some of the tokens. I leave part of the coins in my wallet, since I believe the projects and the development team. Therefore, I believe that you need to analyze every coin before selling. It is best and more reliable to store in bitcoin. But perhaps this is less profitable tactics.

While i think this is a nice idea.  I do not think you grow your crypto asset faster like this. Converting your other coin to BTC or ethereum is a good idea but for you to get multipliers, you have to leave your Other altcoin for a while for it to do some reasonable multiple so you can then take profit and convert to BTC or ETH.

I sometimes double check on the success of the ICO's projects before deciding if I have to hold or sell the bounty coins I have received. Like what had happened with the last campaign I was joining where I was really planning to hold my bounty coins for at least two months because I believe on the success of the projects but sad to say I was forced to sell it because of financial needs. A month has passed now and  the value of that coins has been increasing slowly but surely.

I still not yet received any tokens yet but when the time that I will get token Maybe I will wait until the price is acceptable and then convert it to BTC because I know BTC have a great potentials.

Yeah, it's a wise to move to turn bounty token into BTC or ETH if the project has no potential at all. Also, ETH is good for long-term investment. or you can keep it as USDT so the value is not gonna change and your profit is safe.

I do agree with you. New coins has the possibility of having zero volume and might even have the possibility of being delisted in exchanges so it is better if you have some kind of assurance that you were able to get something from it. You can even take advantage of trading the coin you sold and then buy back later when it is cheaper and then selling it again when you have profits so that you can increase your holdings. If you are just holding then better sold half of it as this is my own strategy.

yes it is true that BTC and ETH are more safer than; ther newly coins out there. but for me is better to study and research every bounty token you have first before you sell it. maybe one day those coins will rocket abd can give you more profit. but if you think that coin will just steady on there price better you convert it to BTC or ETH.

I always proceed from the prospects of ICO projects. If a project with a good practical idea will develop, a stock exchange, a platform, another real working product will be created, then I try to keep such tokens. In any case, they will not depreciate, but profits can bring very big. Tokens from unpromising projects ICO I now really transform into ethereum. I think this coin is very promising for growth.

Yes most of my coins from my bounty I convert it to ETH and BTC because I used some of my earning to my daily needs and some I keep it for the reason that it has no value some I used for my gas fee and some I hodl it to make the value pump so when I convert it, it will be high value. All of the coins that I earn from bounty is useful to me because it help me with my financial problem and now I have financial freedom.

I only sell it if the value of that coins will target on my expected price then exchange it with bitcoin because i believe the future of the bitcoin will be getting higher and higher.

I am almost always converting all the tokens to the Euthereum. For me, it's much more convenient than looking at the price all the time. Especially since I've been working with Euthereum for over a year and trusting him.

I prefer to exchange my bounty token into Ethereum but of course not all of them. I choose one or two of them make some experiment for me personally. It really is a price will be bigger in the future for it. In most cases this does not work, but I believe that one of them will be great.

But not all sinced I have a feeling that the price of it will increased in the future and probably after the launching of a specific platform.

ye agree with you, because too much altcoin and altcoin have a certain time only when large volumes of prices will rise and when the volume goes down the price will also fall, so the price is very easy to control, so better invested to BTC or eth if you want to invest

It depends on coin. If it is under top 500, then I prefer to hold it. If it is some other shit coin, I usually get rid of it immediately.
It is a double edged sword. No one is really happy after selling because prices vary a lot and even in you sell and coin goes to the moon, you feel terrible.

It happens so, but in most cases, many altcoins that just go to the exchanges can be pumped up with money, only because of the huge demand for this project. Therefore, the chances of increasing the deposit are large.

Indeed, you can not deny the fact that bitcoin and eth are safer to store than the new tokens you get for participating in bounty campaigns. But it all depends on what kind of tokens you got, from the market situation, what the price of this token is, etc. Each person chooses his own strategy, which is more suitable for him.

Let's just say 50% of the bounty reward I received, I sold it immediatey. First, it depends on my needs. If I needed a money, I do not hold the coins I received. I cannot risk the needs of my family. Also, I am looking at the roadmap of the project. If there will be somthing that good to come, I will hold it because for sure, I will earn more profit if I do.

The answer to this question will of course depend on the project. If I get a good quality project income, I usually favor not to sell it, but if I find that the project is of poor quality, or if I cut my hopes from the project, I usually prefer to immediately change it. Very rarely when I need the money, I do not like it anymore but this happens very rarely.

If it is a good project I will keep them until I reach my target. Otherwise, I will sell them when received and feel good value. At present, market conditions are not good when receiving tokens and they are listed on the exchange, then selling is probably the best option. At present, the market trend is not clear, but the new token will almost certainly decline.

after the platform's release, the specific token starts to increase due to its demand, but it always falls on ICO or altcoins.OP is right, you have to convert some but not all of them to have some confidence that you will not miss any moon or pump from trading the token, as the price may go beyond the ICO price depending on the experience or the worst volume 0.

There is no wrong of holding them all when we saw potentiality on it in the future.  But base on my experience, bounty tokens will go down fast once listed in any exchange. Do I'm holding it at first and wait to be back but it will continue to go down that's why I've started not to hold anymore and I converted it into btc and eth.

It will depend on the ICO Project. The altcoin I am receiving examines if I have the potential to increase its price before I decide whether to sell or hold. So if their project is legit and unique I just hold it until the price rises and has volume.

The truth is that people will not keep all their bounty coins or tokens. Sometimes, you will have to sell some and keep it either as ETH or BTC while you keep on hodling the rest. Even the project developers too sell some of their own coins or tokens for BTC and ETH. There is no denying that fact.

Sometimes, I do immediately convert my tokens into Bitcoin or ethereum if I think it would not be profitable holding for a long period of time. Not all newly listed tokens would be worth holding for a couple of months and since the market value of ethereum and Bitcoin are continuously increasing, it would be practical to think of such thing. But still, some newly listed tokens are promising so it does depend on the token.

Most I am selling and convert to ETH, Bitcoin or some other promising project and some are very promising project themselves and I keep them.

Not at all. I commonly will convert the coins from bounty into crypto if the prices of the coins are enough for selling. I really don't want to follow the popular condition whether the bounty hunter always sell the coins after distribution in the very cheap price to convert it to BTC or ETH. Just see the condition, coin, and also progress.

Most times i sell them and exchange for fiat, but recently i have learned a new skill

i sell them, buy back same quantity at cheap cost and then i convert the profit to fiat and enjoy the profit and both the investment for another of pump
Thats the sequence that has to be followed.

You do have a good strategy for the bounty coins you received. For the first time I received my bounty coins I exchange it to cash like sell the coin I have.  But I learn to hold it and some of them convert to btc or eth to earn more profit than selling it right away.

The strategy you have pointed out here is really a good one and I must say it will be successful also but what I personally prefer is I invest on some good projects and then the bounties i get i wait for the time when the market is red and I can buy more coins from the lesser money and then I invest some of my coins into some trustworthy coins like btc and eth because I believe they are not going to end so easily and we can invest into them with the utmost patience as right now coins require long-term of investments with fewer panic thoughts.

Is there any other person with a different view or everybody agrees with me?
in my opinion this depends on how we read the condition of the coin market, if it is not possible to save it, of course I will immediately convert it to ETH or BTC, but there are also some possibilities to hold other coins. Because I see altcoin as a long term, not short term.

I believe in the success of the project I participated in Bounty!
Digital money will be restored and developed in the near future!
Agree that digital money will be restored and developed in near future. But the ICO project often premature death after a period listed on the exchange. We should hold the potential token.

It really depends. If it is project that I have my doubts about, I most likely might sell all of them or maybe just a few, and then hodl the others. If it is one that I trust, I definitely will keep the tokens and wait until the prices boom. Sometimes, it is unfair that these token get sold after they are recieved and that might cause a dip in the price of the token.

Either way can be a good strategy. It depends on the need you have. If you have a great need of having your own currency to use for something that needs to be prioritised, go ahead and sell them and convert it to ETH or BTC. But if you believe in the creators of this certain crypto, keep it and let it grown in time. Bitcoin was once a nobody cryto but look how it bounced back.

When it was valuable in the sense that it has potential and a good team then hold it for some time. but when it's not too good then sell it and buy into the altcoin or bitcoin. This will be much more results than waiting from altcoin which is not too obvious. but of course, there is a separate strategy to determine this.

It depends in the coins that I hold if there is a big potential I will keep in my wallet and hold it for a long term, and some of my other coins I'll exchanges it to ETH and I keep it in my cold wallet because it is very useful in any token transactions.

It all depends on the coin I'm holding. But most certainly converts to Ethereum or Bitcoin . Because these coins can be kept for a long time and you will get a profit

I think it is a bad habit, but I keep selling most of the bounty campaign rewards, the thing is that I have too many of them and they tend to stack on my wallet making a big mess, so I just turn them to bitcoin.

I am a frequent participant in the bounty, and I always exchange Token to ETH as soon as I receive the Token from the bounty manager. Exchange to ETH then the long-term hold will ensure that the profit you earn in the future is very high. So that you should exchange to ETH instead of holding Bounty Token.

You can sell your tokens received for participating in the bounty program and buy bitcoin. Bitcoin in time brings me more profit than all the other coins. Also you can sell 50% or 70%.

If it has a good value in ETH, then I exchange it for ETH. If not I wait for it to grow a bit more before doing that kind of exchange. It always feels good when you have some ETHs on you.  ;)

Depending on the potential of the coin, sometimes I exchange some of it for ethereum or btc and keep the rest but if it is not a very potential one, I sell all and invest in altcoin. If it is a very good project, I hold for as long as it will be valuable.

I agree on some points, some coins go down eventually, so it's ok to convert it to Bitcoin or Ethereum being two of the biggest coin in the market, only keep the coin that you think will bring a good yield in the future, I already trade 60% of my altcoin to eth and Bitcoin and I have no regret.

It depends on the bounty coin. If the coin is potential I will wait for it to grow even it will cost me a few or even few years. The rest is that I decided to convert it to BTC or convert it to fiat immediately.

As of now, I will keep my bounty tokens on my wallet because btc and eth are falling down. If I will convert my tokens then it will become a great loss in my part specially that my tokens depend upon the price of btc. But I always want to buy btc and eth so that I will secure my future profits.

When I get a bounty coin I will leave it for a while and wait for the price to appreciate to a good amount and then I will move it to my ETH. After moving all of them or about 80% to ETH ,I will then exchange about fifty percent of the amount I have withdrawn to BTC which I will monitor all from there, and once price shows any sign of depreciation, I will quickly sell it out.

I think its better to keep your all bounty then convert it to ETH and BTC because Ethereum and Bitcoin are one of the most valuable and most profitable to all especially BTC. Also this two are really have potential so converting your all bounty coins in ETH or BTC are good decision. But it's all depends to you, you can also try other crypto have potential but it's not the same higher value that what you might get in ETH and BTC.

I was doing this since last year that more than half of the bounties I got goes to BTC. Most of the time I just dump for BTC until I  got EIDOO token which turned out to be a good token and  so right now I'd have to keep waiting for more than 3 months before deciding whether a token  is going to be sold or kept. It all depend to the price of how big  the community that supports it.

In my opinion, keeping the coins will be good if the ICO token really has the potential future and can be seen from the concept of the project. I myself sometimes will convert the tokens or coins into ETH and make investment to other altcoins. however, if the coins from ICO are considered very potential, I will hold it and let more than 6 months to hold.

Some coins I hold, and some translate into more promising coins . It all depends on the case: the coin itself and the market situation today. To minimize the risks, sometimes I choose this strategy: 50% I change to Ethereum or Bitcoin , and the rest I continue to keep

even if i convert it to bitcoin or ethereum, it has to be long term period investment, especially at current market situation. but i think it depends on how good are the project or ico you have participated in bounty campaign, if the project looks promising and has potential to grow, i will tend to keep and hold that token as long as they launch mainnet or beta test, or even until the platform or project are ready to run, i think it is the same case..you have to hold it for long term period for both investment

Doing a bounty campaign is like investing in bitcoin, As the campaign goes and turn to be successful the coin or token you can get is a payment / investment of yours.
Yes, having the bounty payment on your wallet is not just a money to be, you need to make a right decision whether to hold or sell.
