Lots of dump their tokens on the market as soon as they’re listed on an exchange. There are always a risk in holding, since you never know how the secondary market is going to treat a token. But equally, strong projects with good fundamentals have the potential to appreciate hugely in price.
How better do you think?

In my own opinion, I think I will hold it first and wait for the value of this token for a higher price in the market. When the value increases I will sell it immediately inorder to earn a huge profit. Based on my own experience I regret that I never sell all amount of my tokens because as the days pass by the tokens that I hold has no value already in the market, that's why I feel disappointed to what had happened.

My strategy is when my coin hits 30% of its base value down i will sell it immediately, because i don't want to lose more. And when i want to sell it, it depends in what i see in the marketplace. When the token value hits up 30% or 25% of its base value i think twice if i hold it or i will sell it. I take consideration if i really need some money or not.

dump are sometimes so horrible that the price of a coin falls from the normal price.
it is very difficult for new coins to come back at normal prices but, you are right with a good and solid team fundamentals, it can be achieved.

Many wants sure profit that's why they sell after listing in an exchange. There are also people wants a long term hold especially if the project is good the chance of its price to sky rocket in the future is high. I prefer holding for long than selling it to gain small profit.

i think you can eirher jold them or sell, ot depends on the cutrent situation you are in, so it is up to you to decide

there are a lot of diffeent things you can do, but loom kn the situation, not on the advice of people who do not know it

hold, if the price is not good...sell, if the price is extremely high for you to earn as much as you can!..don't hesitate to hold or sell, it's up to you!..anyway it's yours!

Everybody have what's is in his mind but i think the best option for you is to hodl it for some time before you sell it just leave it as an investment but always try long term hodl.

You can sell your tokens and see how they behave. If the tokens fall in price, you can buy them again and then sell them more. If they grow strongly, you too can buy them a little more expensive than you sold, but compensate for the difference with great growth.

It all depends on what you bought tokens for and at what price. I, for example, bought tokens at different times, but, of course, at a price several times higher than now. If I sell them now, I will lose a lot of money. If the worst scenario happens and the tokens depreciate, then I will lose too. It is better to wait for the best scenario. And to be in profit than to lose.

With current market. You should sell them immediately. All tokens will be dropped when they are listed at some exchange. Do not keep the token or altcoin at the current time. Just keep bitcoin or eth which is the best choice now

Unless you are investing for the short term, otherwise I don’t think selling the token once it hits the exchange is the most profitable way. I will at least hold till the project deliver its product to determine whether to hold or sell.

Sell if you think its better to sell and you need money.

But hold if you think that these coins has something to do and with potential in the future. It's only a matter of your decision making and everything lies in your hands so it all depends on how you'll assess your current situation.

In order to understand what to do with tokens you need to understand what kind of token you are talking about. There are tokens that lose popularity, price and it need to be urgently sold. Also, there are promising tokens that are worth buying and holding.

Holding of token or selling it is depend on the market value of the token,  if the token is on exchange with good price,  there is nothing keeping me from selling.  Bt as the market is down now I have to hold my token

It depend on whether the token has potential to grow further. If yes, holding will bring more profits than selling at the early stage.

Tokens have to be sold because they period of acrivity and being valuable is very short so do not spend a lot of time for this and you will not lose profit.

It depends on the token, if it is a token that is not strong, I will dumped and will look to re-buy again, but if it is a strong tokens, I will dumped, rather I will keep buying when the price keeps dumping because it will definitely rise again.

Yeah I gree because I do the same. If I think it is worth it to keep then I hold and if I needed money the most or maybe the token has less potential I sell it imediately but sometimes opposite might happen depending on our way of understanding the idea and perception  and evaluation of the project. Most of the time I sold my tokens and convert to Bitcoin, Dash, Litecoin or Ethereum for a much safer investment. Sometimes I used them for emergency purposes.

Dump and Pump is a natural thing when a new token is listed in exchange to make volume, many factors influence it such as bonuses and bounty hunters selling their token. Now Depends what token you are hodling, IMHO If you think thats token is good you better HODL.

For me I will dumped because I really need money for some things i am doing, cryptos have give so many people life and have put food on so many people tell, so depend on cryptos to feed, so if such gets token, it's a straight dump.

indeed most after their tokens listed on the exchange always experience a decrease from ico prices. sometimes we are too late to get distribution of news tokens from the bounty of the project. after seeing their exchange decreased drastically from ico price. it causes us to sell it cheaply or prefer to hold it. but if their project is strong with good fundamentals, the possibility of falling prices after being registered in a small market. because it has been planned by the dev itself. if I prefer to keep him from selling as soon as possible.

If you have the opportunity to make profit on it just grab it. I used to sell when I see I have profit like 10% and above. However, if you feel that project has no activity tends the price will go down, dump it. You can still make buyback and do some trades. Much loss can be avoided when you stop loss.
You should observe always the activity and development of your holding to avoid big loss.

It depends on the tokens, if it is an ICO tokens then I will hold no matter how the price dumps because before i invest in an ICO, I will be thinking for long term but if it is a bounty tokens and the project is strong, I will dump half and hold the remaining half.

Actually, you have got answers from everyone in this forum.

They will answer holding if the token has the potential to have a large price and be listed in a large exchange.

And secondly they will sell the token because it has no potential. The situation will be different from yours depending on the token you hold, if you want to get the answer you expected.

Some coins need to be sold immediately, because they can only fall in price. But we can not know which coins will grow, but which will fall. Sometimes a coin needs to be kept for several months to earn a profit of x2 or more

though the crypto market is volatile but the value of coins will rise before the year ends,holding will be the best option than sell,a lot patience should be excess-ed and we will all make it big in the future

Yes, sometimes it is better to sell tokens immediately after entering the exchange, but I keep some of the most promising tokens in the future to get even more benefit from them

According to my trading history (one year), most of the time I held a token I got off to a loss ... Nowadays, whenever I get something from a bounty, I sell it at the same time...(sad reactions only).

I find few tips from seniors teeth: "if you intend to invest, you should invest in top coin (<100 on coinmarketcap). If you want to risk, invest ICO".
I noticed, usually coin or token in the top 100 does not fluctuate too much.. Can understand it at a safe level. So you should consider yourself to invest.

My take is that no matter what the secondary market might look like the best thing to do with tokens is to hold, I'm against the idea of dumping, sometimes you might think a coin with not make it far and eventually it keep soaring then you start blaming yourself but it's much more better to hold because at a point in time a profit on a single tokens can pay off all other loss from other tokens

I also tend to keep tokens at the moment. For them, too little is given, the rate is very low. Later, growth should begin, and the price will go up.

I would only hold very few of them, just dump for eth and buy btc with eth. Only true investment is btc, others are scam for me  :-\

I would generally hold them, if the projects looks or starts looking really promising, because of that I am generally selective about the project I get into, I don't like selling my tokens just after I get them.

if the project is promising then your altcoins can grow in price several times so I would not sell the tokens.

For me it depends on the tokens, There are some tokens I have seen some great potentials in them and those tokens, I am holding them for a longer term, I don't really care about the price dipping now or not, I have set my target for a long term

For now, avoid selling. The market is still struggling at this point due to the extreme volatility that we are currently experiencing. Selking will more likely to result into loss of profit because the value of most cryptos are falling. Waiting for recovery therefore is more advisable because once the increase take place eventually, huge profit will be to those who are patient.

The token dumped at the present time is very normal when the cryptocurrency rates are severely reduced. The general sentiment of most people is to sell the tokens right after the distribution, and I think if you join the bounty, you should do so to avoid selling the Token as the exchange rate goes down.

I hold lots of dumb coins for last 8 months and some of them already divide 10 for the ICO price :(
The ICO time is end now, we have no chance to win a lot like ethereum or bitcoin anymore, sell them when the price x2 or x1.5, that's the best way!

for myself still hold the tokens that I get from ico because the possibility of token price can still develop according to ico project if good then over time will follow the movement of the market.

For me it really depends on the tokens, if i get a very solid coin and the bear market is not happening, then I will hold, but if market is in the bear condition then, I will have to sell them off and look to re-buy it at dip.

I guess bear market is the major cause of recent dumps tokens when it is listed in the market immediately, in the past most people hold tokens for months to make some good X return before dumping on the exchanges, but the bear market, is no longer allowing people to hold tokens for longer anymore.

I would recommend to be very selective with the projects you get into in the first place, if you just aim for projects without promise you will definitely end up dumping their tokens or most of them at least.

Most of the time, I sell my tokens immediately and buy more of my holding coins. There are also some times that I hold it if I see potential on the project. I don’t hold my tokens for long though, I’ll just check if there are any changes before selling it.

I don't see any future for utility tokens.
Nowadays, they are needed, because there is a lot of friction to buy them. You have to go through exchanges, then BTC/ETH and then buy the tokens to use on the platforms/apps. The problem is, the same platforms/apps are not ready to use yet. So nobody needs the tokens. And when they get ready, the technological infrastructure will be so developed that you would be able to insta buy and use the token in a millisecond, so you won't need to hold and store it. You just keep BTC.

Now it is better not to drop coins , and keep a long time. You can transfer everything to bitcoin.How best to do-it is difficult to say.The market is constantly surprising.

true, depends on the token. i think tokens which have passed some regulatory requirements are for hold since if the company/developer behind it spent time doing their records straight with the authority and to other financial institutions, it's a good signal that they are for seriously building the project in full. like the stock market, if the business is fully pledged to the company's growth, it's a Hold for sure.

That is completely up to you since it is your money at stake here. You need to do your research and decide whether you are willing to HODL or not. The fact is that the market will not stay bearish forever and it will turn bullish again(Could happen tomorrow, next year or the year after that) which is why you need to figure out whether you are willing to HODL or not. Selling is the 'current' way to make money and holding is the way to encourage your future. The mix of these ways  will be more suitable and profitable from all sides.

I think that what you choose to do with your tokens after you get them is entirely up to you, but if you are seeking for advise, I would suggest that you hodl your tokens. Who knows, the market might swing in their favor, and you will be making some really cool profits. You can also sell when you see that the tokens are shitty ones though.

All of us are privileged to act out as we deem it necessary or profitable. Hodlers find it more beneficial to keep your tokens with you until it amassed an exponential value. But other investors are happy with a quick profit no matter how low. Their strategy is to get a little profit and move on to another investment then do the same thing over and over again. This way they feel more secured with very less risk to deal with. Though of course, this entails minimal profit everytime.

this kind of thing depends on the investor itself, if for example I am the investor I will be more observant about the innovation of a project that I follow. not a few coins that have just entered the market can achieve success thanks to innovation and a strong team and community.

I do not think it's worth it. Because do not worry. Today, coins have a low value. Do not lose the opportunity to have a big profit. I'm saying the best time to sell these coins is. Long-term wait. Because it will definitely increase in the future at a very high price. So do not make quick decisions. You stay until the best time. Then invest in the best time.

Yes I agree on that, we need to holds good tokens depending on the project development. I believe that holding tokens is profitable but it is always depends on the tokens. Selling is also depends on the current price because we need to sell it at the high price so that we can earn.

I think it's better to stick to the tactics of holding crypto assets in the near future. There may be positive news at September 19-20, that may give rise to a long uptrend. If this doesn't happen, then most likely the fall will continue until the spring of 2019.

It depends on the outcome of the project sales if the project has many investors I go for holding it for a very long time. If not i gonna dump it as soon as it listed on market for a pair price off course. i already have an experience holding undeveloped project tokens they end up being trashed by the most bounty hunters.

Well it depends in your current situation and understanding in the token you hold. If you think its a type of coin that is worth holding and can solve real problem that can cause for it to increase in value then dont sell immediately.

However if you are in need of money and you think its better to sell now while the price is good then its up to you.

I have some coins that I sold after it got listed in exchanges and im regretting it because I can gain more if I didnt chose to take profit immediately.

I also keep 2 tokens from early May. And now 2 tokens have dropped 10 times compared to when I bought, and now there is no other choice as long-term hold. It may take 1-2 years for us to get back the money we have spent, that is sad story

Whether to sell or HODL a token or coin depends solely on the market situation at a certain point in time. Like the current time is meant to HODL for me and when the price goes up, I sell to multiply what I invested in the coin or tokens.

For me I keep all my tokens in hold until the price is worth enough for me to sale , whatever risk I will face even though I have to suffer losses , except if I need some money badly .

Tokens that are yet to be listed on exchanges should for the most part be dumped as soon as they hit, typically for most trash tokens will massively drop in both value and trade volume in the subsequent days after listing. However, if you are holding tokens for an extraordinarily strong project, e.g. one that was massively oversubscribed during the token sale, then it would be wise to hold for a bit.

It's not really good to dump tokens, but firstly one needs to check the liquidity of the coin on exchange before knowing what to do, and also at this moment that the market is down, majority of the tokens listed are far far from ICO price, in that situation i think it's better to wait for the pump, before making any decision.

dumpinh certainly make the market worsen. holding coins mean you are confident to the tech or product offer by the altcoins. some even great project got scrap due to dumping, all waste down the drain.

Projects who are really doing well are going to be well maintained by the developers.

They won't care about those dumpers as long as their project is on progress. And investors shall come back after looking to it and appreciates their work.

Hold or Sell depends on your target. If you see it fit with your aim, you can sell to recover capital and profit. But if you expect more of it, keep holding to get more profit. Long term is suitable in this situation

I am more attractive to hold my token, and I do not sell my tokens when I am currently in the exchange. because I have confidence in the future that token will increase. especially when the token is reached the road map is possible the price will rise according to the concept of a company.

I've started buying more, the prices are just so low compared to the highs for me to resist, basically a gamble though.

Imho it would be a mistake to sell in this bearish market, where most of the prices a far from their ATH. Thats why i would say that Hold is for now the best solution. Lets wait for a better weather together.

If you have or I have tokens now from bounty campaign rewards , I will just hold it for a while waiting the market price to be back for good, because if I will not panic selling my tokens for I ,might lose some great value for my coins, so I hold it and sell it for the right time.

I think if you have invested in an ICO then you believe in it some way. then if so you probably believe in tokens they have given to you. then if so hold it.

We cannnot blame them if they sell it immediatwly once the coin is listed, i know they cause a lot of dumping, but its their right to trade it after they have waited for so long to make money out of their hard work. Its better for me to hodl for not to dump and sell it when the price is met.

well in the bear market like this year. sometimes dump was a better option than hodl and crashing. because right now so many icos can't compete with others altcoins and loses their value

Tokens are a type of long-term investment so we must be patient and we cannot make decisions quickly. We must really be able to choose the right project because then we have the opportunity to get satisfactory results in the future. Some token are definitely not increase and stanby in current amount and the most are always decrease that's why some people are panic and they dont know what to do the better way if the token is fall about %25 just sell it before you lose more

It is just a common behaviour of a coin when they will list to exchange. It is also a big thing to prove that their team and platform are deserving enough to stay in the market even in the bullish month.

Yeah, I quite agree with you. Sometimes, it's not even the market that dumps but the fraudulent developers. They get the coin listed on a cheap exchange and then run away without any further updates. I am bag holding a coin I should've sold and made over $1,000. Now the value is around $120. Really, it's a sham how these scam coins exist.

I think everything depends on you , when you experience a loss when buying tokens at high prices, I think what you do is just hold, because if you sell your token in a down position you will definitely experience a big loss

Definitely, most of people here are just hold their tokens if the value of it are low. But before making a decision for holding your tokens, you need to do a deep research because not all tokens are worth it to hold.

For me it really depends on the token I am in possession right now. If I see a lot of potential and I think the token is quite promising then I would definitely hold it longer till I earn the profit I desire. On the other hand if the tokens value is not good and not promising at all then I might sell it quickly.

Being aware and well organized between quality and pumped and dumped project will give you some advantage, holding tokens which really progressing from time to time can bring something good in your investment, while throwing those pumped and dumped project and used the money you earned to buy more of those coins that you believe to grow along side with the market.

What's the point of selling them now? With such a market it is better to accumulate them on your wallet. Wait for the situation that was last year and then sell. Moreover, by that time many of them will already appear on normal exchanges and will have a decent price. And now selling for a penny makes no sense.

for me, i wouldn't hold too many coins/tokens.  i can't handle the monitoring of each of 50-100 kinds of coins/tokens.  so i decided to sell off those i think have less potential and concentrate on maybe maximum of 10 major and 10 minor coins/tokens.  this way i can have better view of each project and can come up with better decisions.

In my case, when ever i got some token/coin from bounty reward. What i usually do is checking on the market and looking on the possibilities of that project itself, if i think the project has a good potential for future growth, then i'll keep that token/coin and wait until the day that the coin has a good price.

It depends on you but for me if the price is high enough that it can guarantee me a profit then I will sell it but if it is still low then hold it.

The question of what to do with tokens is always difficult because you do not know how the market will behave.There are tokens that give 10x and it brings a good profit,and there are those that fall to zero.Only a good project with a good team and product can keep the price of the token,this is worth paying attention to.

Ethereum erc20 blockchain seems to be the highest blockchain used for pump and dump projects, nothing can be done to fix that I guess ,all I can say is one needvto hold only good projects that has potential and dump bad projects that needs to be dumped.

When you looking at your coin after listing at exchange market is dump, you have wait and hold your asset until price is back to higher, or you will lost your money if keep sell with more lower price.

Try to be guided by risk management. If you get some tokens after ICO distribution sell a part of then like 50%. If you are really concern about future success of the project - hold all tokens.

I think we must start from the project if the project is very promising is to store it for a long time. Although I think all of the projects in the first phase are very promising, the main thing is to follow the news and react according to the situation.

I sell some of my tokens just after they make ×2 or ×3 from their ico price,taking any profit and returning my invested money,the rest of coins I hold for mid or long-term to catch the fattest profit like ×5- ×10,it might take years of waiting but it's ok for me.

Holding of tokens is very dangerous because they can have more serious negative effect. Sell them when you see that they are growing and do not wait.

The right choice about these doings ic connected with your aim and position of the cryptocurreny market so holding is better for the real time and selling for the ecoming bull  run.

Keeping or selling tokens is very much dependent on the future development of the token so in order to make the right decision, investors need to spend time researching and evaluating their tokens. Consider carefully because every mistake affects your money.

If you hold the promising tokens - so there are no necessity to see them. Just hold and wait for a better market conditions in order to sell them with a profit.

For me when ever i received payment from bounty all i do now is just keep quite and know if the bounty will lambo but it's just matter of time.

Now it is better to buy new tokens or join the campaign of generosity only for the ICO that will have a prospect for development, and not to where you can quickly earn money on resale. Therefore, it is better to accumulate such tokens in their wallets for the time being and to expect a rise in the cryptocurrency market, when these tokens increase significantly in value. And the market will rise all the same.

Coins which usually drop in price immediately after ICO and fails to rise again are those which do not have any real usage and so has no value. It is better to wait for the project to start in order to give the coin some value before you sell it.

i  think  first it  depends  really  in  token  holders  but  if  you  want  for sure one answer  i  would  say  definitely  hold  for now  since  the  market  s  situation is  not as  good as we wish to .

At the moment I try to sell tokens, because leaving them for long-term storage is very dangerous. The market is going down and almost all coins are getting cheaper.
