My thought exactly. The industry has been infested with get rich quick noobs and we definitely don't need more of them. I rather see them flow into altcoins and put their money to waste there.

Bitcoin seems to be less attractive for noobs and I actually like it. Most of the people investing in Bitcoin do it for the long term or they use it as store of value. The rest has left to altcoins hoping for better returns.

I remember how people here were excited to see celebrities promote Bitcoin, while now rightfully don't like to see it happen. Bitcoin is not a statement of luxury and shouldn't ever become that.

I wouldn't go to this extreme, as I don't think her supporters are even knowledgeable enough to be able to buy into bitcoin HAHA!!!! I'm expecting to see her to use this as a chance to sell some bitcoin memorabilia or even do some coinbase referrals where she can make some easy money with her followerbase. Do you even know what you're taking about? The only way bitcoin will rise in value in the first place is by new money coming in. If no fresh money comes in then the price will stagnate and won't rise at all, but even if these Kardashian crypto newbies did sell their coins then it's money that wouldn't have even been there in the first place without her promotion. You should be lucky for any sort of promo from celebrities, but Kim Kardashian posting a ten second video on an instagram story that will be gone within 24 hours isn't exactly noteworthy and the people who will actually invest from that would almost certainly be very minimal if any at all. Most of her fans will be completely oblivious to bitcoin even after her posting that, but maybe it will pique the interest of some and anyone using bitcoin at all is good for bitcoin in my opinion.

Yes. If we want global adoption, then Bitcoin needs to be accessible to everyone. That includes the inexperienced, panic sellers, and the non-tech-savvy.

If I did not know about bitcoin and saw this story, I would link between Bitcoin and Gambling because she seemed to promote a new way of playing poker " using bitcoin."
Also, she used Bitcoin as playing cards, and this is incompatible with the digital nature of this process.

Promoting and advertising is always good for a product or community. Actually i don't like Kim Kardashian but promoting Bitcoin on instagram with high follower is very good for us. Thank you Kim anyway, hope you can earn with bitcoin too..

Why is that a bad or a negative thing? Gambling is one industry where bitcoin has the potential to be huge and is actually another way bitcoin can be used to avoid unnecessary state censorship, not to mention there are already lots of bitcoin gamling sites and without them bitcoin might not be where it is today. I'm sure you've even advertised for a bitcoin gambling site in some way or another before as well.

Its not a big problem tho, but i think it can increasing the popularity of bitcoin because on of the famous celebrity is using it.

Rather than spreading negativity I will look into the bright side of the story, there are millions of people who follow her on a regular basis. I think this is a good advertisement for Bitcoin. Recently many celebrities advertise cryptocurrencies. Sometimes celebrities promote fraudulent projects but in this case it is not a fraudulent project.

But as OP said whether she know about bitcoin technology or not buy just seeing the price fluctuations she also thought of becoming rich by trading in bitcoin and it will only bring more traders which is good by one side but if the market crash then this traders will get panic and sell in loss and bring market more down.

Any publicity is good publicity for bitcoin--cryptocurrency in general. Frankly, I think majority of Kim K's fans have a low IQ...and that would be good once they get into bitcoin--many will gain from it  ::)

Agreed. But we still need to make bitcoin easy to understand and use for beginners or the past pump and dump will happen again. Beginners will always be scared of a down move in the market whenever it happens because they don't know that it is normal.

Plus the ever-changing network transfer speed. Before it scares me whenever I create a bitcoin transfer, not sure if it will succeed because it almost took me 6 hours for it. But now that I know the right fee for a normal transfer I don't get scared that much.

A reality star on bitcoin will only pull more crowd to the community of crypto. There are advantages and disadvantages to this effect. One advantage is immense publicity 2) Builds trust of the coin in the people's mind. The disadvantage could be rise in price of the crypto coins 2) flock of inexperienced folks into the community which might be of more harm than good when they start losing. So I wouldn't say her publicity of the coin is bad because her effrontery has given more credibility to the coin.
