Title: Bitcoin Price in late December 2018 ! The giant cristal ball.
Post by: trgnn on July 30, 2018, 06:02:23 PM
I have unfortunately no answer.

But I'm starting a little experiment. I don't know if we will turn into a giant cristal ball or not but this isn't the part I'm interested in anyway. Actually, I'm wondering if the crowd, if the people, can be more accurate than Tone Vays and alikes, more accurate than all the self called specialists in the space. So I made a short survey and I hope to be able to collect a few hundreds and maybe a few thousands answers. Thanks in advance guys, it's only a few seconds of your time and it can be fun !

Here's the survey !

As I said many times, there is really no point making these ''predictions''. They aren't predictions, they are inventions. There is no analysis capable of giving accurate results when it comes to that time frame. At most with technical analysis you can make educated guesses short term. Fundamental analysis might allow you to make longer term predictions but they can't be very accurate.

As explained in the first post it's not about Bitcoin price, it's about specialists educated knowledge / guesses VS crowd knowledge / guesses. It's a probabilistic experiment and I personally don't really care about the BTC price. I'm bullish on it, but that's also irrelevant here. English isn't my first language so maybe it wasn't clear enough.

So I made a short survey and I hope to be able to collect a few hundreds and maybe a few thousands answers.

unless you sticky this on the front page of /r/bitcoin i don't see you getting more than a dozen answers. i hope i am wrong though. you can see a list of "predictions" here which actually was giving incentive (0.125BTC) to the closest guess and it didn't get that many replies: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4710399.msg43025808#msg43025808
(i waited for last minute to join but i missed the deadline ::))

ps. make sure to share the result of your poll with us later on.

At end of this year i think it will creep back up to 20k again. Hopefully it won't dump back down like it did this year, and the new norm will be in the twenties

In December 2018 bitcoin prices will range between $10,000 - $12,000. In this year will not be like in 2017, because at this time the market is very unhealthy.

So sad that you didn't provide option of answer like from XkUSD to XXUSD or XXUSD to XXUSD. There is too much room when you look into 2 next options of answer. Please, if you can, fix that :)

Unfortunately when you look at the ''experts'' predictions, they never match, not even close. Some ceo of some company said bitcoin will reach 40k this year. Someone else actually said 65k, that's not a small difference. Point being is that even if the ''experts'' can't agree then what's the point of making these predictions? Of course being bullish on bitcoin is something else, you are not necessarily making an accurate prediction.

I think that the price will easily touch more than ten thousand dollars by the end of the year, we all should wait a little bit longer, anyway, predictions are not accurated.

i still sense a lot of ranging in our future. both bulls and bears gonna get cucked! $6500-$17000.

Actually, I'm wondering if the crowd, if the people, can be more accurate than Tone Vays and alikes, more accurate than all the self called specialists in the space.

ah, dem self-styled experts! tone vays' TA is terrible---although he is not too bad at reading sentiment and landing on the right side of it.

but when it comes to altcoins, do yourself a favor and do the opposite of what he says. every altcoin he says is a scam ends up making massive gains. once a coin hits his scam radar, it's a buy! :P

Yes, you're right but look it's just only Speculation board of the bitcointalk forum, that's why people are trying to predict the right price of 1 BTC in exact date/period of time. In my opinion price between 12-14kUSD is very realistic :)

The year isn't over and well, second, as stated, it's not about getting an accurate prediction about the price but an accurate prediction about the predictions :D

Many experts predict that the price of Bitcoin, many experts are right in predicting but not a few experts missed the prediction, this is due to the nature of interoperable Bitcoin prices which make the fluctuation of Bitcoin prices quite extreme.

My crystal ball says it is 30 000 USD. Or maybe even 40 000 US Dollars.
That is too much interested, although that is very much possible to happen no doubt but I think that it is not so easy to happen so soon. my prediction is that bitcoin price will at least reach to its previous all time high price which will also be a very good progress.

It's quite amusing to think about it really.  Experts have different predictions and they're basically basing their predictions on similar methods and anlysis, yet they arrive at different figures. Makes one think, what difference then do they have from normal people's speculations based mostly on rumors? 😛

I think that it is still too early to say any thing about it, but I think that from the market behavour that we observe in last few days its look like that at the end of 2018, bitcoin price will be trading above 20000$, from where it came down to 50000$ level.

predictions again? I have read many predictions today. but none of them managed to make predictions correctly. they are too ambitious to make predictions and get too excited.
