I just want to share this personal opinion. I don't think that the cryptocurrency will hit ATH this 2018. I might get lots of negative comments from this but at the very least let me share why I think this. We've come from an ATH last 2017 and this 2018, I believe we've reached a rockbottom market. Which means that we're still on our way to recovery. I do believe though that the market will thrive in 2019 (though it's way too early to say at this point in time because so many things are happening to alt coins)

Yes, perhaps you are right. I think even the growth will depend on the general recognition of the world's crypto currency

Feeling my own, the 2018 Cryptocurrency will not boom like 2017.
Even I fear that BTC is half the price of BTC at the peak.

The current market situation may not change this year without something huge happening which will change the tide of the market. Hopefully, in coming months there will be some good news regarding ETF which will again bring the market to previous state.

During the last major drop (which arguably was even more significant than the current one) at the beginning of 2014 it basically took bitcoin three long years to fully recover and reach the previous ATH. We all hope this time will be different, because more people believe in bitcoin and don't get their investments back every time some fud is around. Yet surely if this shorter time is a year instead of three, it would still be really awesome and good to the market. When the market went bullish at the end of 2017, it was kind of obvious that it wasn't a very good thing to happen and minor events could make those rich newbies sell everything just as they bought it some months ago.

It is just your opinion but most opinions i read here and other places are bullish for this year as well, personally i do support the bullish view and im positive that market will boom in probably the last quarter of the year as regulatiom and compliance process will be completed by major countries till then so expect bulls to take over.

Well, This is really unpredictable at this moment because it is believed that this market may change over the night. Crypto Currencies growth is now in a stake of general recognition of this world. Whatever you are thinking right now is just a myth, not a fact.

Although ETH did not do well in the year 2017, there has been some improvement in the market in the year 2018. I think it will improve completely in 2019. ETH is much safer and promising. Their future is very promising.

When we all wait for growth, there is a fall, when we wait for the fall, explosive growth begins. I understand that the plans for the end of 2018 were realized, we all must believe in a global and irrevocable decline of the whole industry, and maybe then we will see a change in the dynamics of the market.

I think in some extent you are right. I also think that the market will become more thrive and it will grow by time. Obviusly it is the nature of crypto market that sometimes it will fall but at the end of 2020 the market will rise.

You are right, sincerely you are on point I don't think a reasonable person should criticise you for this fact you just put down because it's just like a prophesy 2018 is not a good year for crypto.

I think ATH will not be set this year. though the market will sure to recover.

This year is the year of testing people's patience.  HODL if you want to see profits instead of selling at a loss.  It's been a rough year so far and I'm hoping the final months of this year will be brighter for every investor.

I think it's too early to adopt such a concluding position on the market situation,let us still believe that the whales would act according to stabilized the market by mobbing some of the best altcoins in the cryptocurrency space. There is still hope for cryptocurrency in 2018.

We have to be petience all the time if we want to gain more profits for the future. From now on I still believe that their is a massive inflations of the price of cryptocurrency this year 2018 the same in 2017. That many of us rejoicing because of the success of cryptocurrency. And we are benifited because through our investment in crypto that year 2017. We earn a bundle of money.

It is certain that the cryptocurrency market rate in 2018 will not increase as fast as in 2017. To date, the exchange rate is only $ 7,000, and the ETH is over $ 400. It is unlikely that there will be any sudden exchange rate fluctuations at the end of the year as there is a lot of negative news about cryptos.

Those are honest words but not because we reached all time high during 2017, it means that we'll not going to see it. I'm still confident that everything can even in a split seconds.

It's possible that the market hasn't even reached the bottom yet but I don't want to go further with that negative thought. I always try to be optimistic whatever the results will come. But that's all we have to see and wait, the recovery.

Perhaps you are right but I think it will hit cryptocurrency AHT in this 2018. The growth will depends on the general reformation of the crypto currency.

Indeed so many bad news about crypto that price still has no changes. This crypto market has no good news that may uplift the price. But it is not the end of 2018 hopefully a lot of good news happen so that price could increase.

In crypto market nothing is impossible, you can't overrule the fact that crypto market can reach a new all time high, when market is on the bull run, two is enough for this market to recover from and enter into bull market which will eventually reach all time high, well let's just wait and watch as see as things unfold.

Achieving the ATH in 2018 is very unpredictable because of what we experienced at the beginning of the year, there were series of fights between the crypto community and governments of different countries, that created negative impacts on the market. The situation is only tying to improve just of recent.

The market for cryptocurrency in 2018 is unlikely to grow as fast as 2017. In fact, at the moment, in Q3 2018, the exchange rate of BTC and ETH is still leveling off, and there is no sign of rising. Therefore, it is hard to expect the exchange rate to rebound and reach the bull market in 2018. All the predictions about the exchange rate of BTC and ETH increase are emotional.

I agree with you because the price chart is still rolling in color so it is difficult to reach a bubble like in 2017 and this may continue to run until the end of the year because until now the price movement is still effective

I am totally confused about the market. Many people thought bull run will come soon but it hasn’t come yet. But i hope it will come in one or two months.

Many hope that there will be the same situation as in December 2017. I don't think it will be. The market needs new participants, investors to rise to a high level. You may be right about 2019. Let's see.

Even though it is not very realistic, I still hope the bull market will come, because only the bull market will make people make money quickly.

I have the same view as you, my predictions, and bitcoin will stabilize in 2019, even reaching high prices. and I believe that. with argument that Altcoin will form its own global market, and also this is supported by the many altcoins that appear at this time.

If we have reached the bottom for this year then why think that we will not see all time high?
We can say that all time high of $20,000 for bitcoin was for 2017, so what if we only get $10,000 for this year?

I personally agree with you. You know how hard the market strive to have a better year but still to much dump had been seen. It is affecting the market by multiple folds which has made the investors to pullout their investments and wait for a better time.

It is really hard to predict the crypto market. Every crazy little thing in crypto is really unstable it can change anytime anywhere. The speculation of the expert in crypto on 2018 is amazing theu said it will make a nrw history on the feild and they said bitcoin will maybe reach 50k USD. Actually I agree with this statement. The market has faced many negative thing like rejection from the sec, bad rumors and banning from different governments. This will make the growth slow but it will rise very soon

Agree with your statement. The market will need a lot more time to become stable after the recent slump in prices but there are few factors that can change the situation overnight like SEC approving Bitcoin ETF or some major company coming into play, so it is very unpredictable right now.

I really like crypto currency price during 2018 especially bitcoin because price moving really stable on 6000-10000 range.

I think the beginning of the growth of the market we will see by the end of 2018. And 2019 should already be the year of ATH and a new wave of popularity of crypto currency

Only thing which is happening is price volatility.  It fully depends on how good or bad news are in circulation regarding Bitcoin.

I totally agree with you, 2017 was booming year, and as I studied about world booms and crashes, the commodities can not raise so sharply for a long periods of time, there should be a long correction and then another boom.

BTC will not recover overnight, for now. But I think BTC will remain ATH for now as there is no coin that has beaten it and no stat supports any of the coins will beat BTC's higher record. Thus BTC will recover its position and go more high when other coins reach its previous record high, I assume.

If we look at the comparison of the price of Bitcoin in 2017 with 2018, it is indeed very different. 2018 Altcoin prices have declined considerably, and made investors lose a lot of money. I can understand why you feel like the market won't recover, it's already august after all.
But it doesn't seem like you are basing this on any data or market indicators.

Actually, the market has been showing a lot of healthy signs the last couple months.
The most is that there has been stability.  If you look at the market value for the past 3 months, it hasn't swung as wildly as it has in the past.

Also, there has been a steady resistance to btc going to the $5000s.
This shows that the market has matured.

We also see people finally starting to react positively to news and announcements again rather than just negative.
With btc etfs approval coming up, it should help to push off another bull run.

I still believe that we will hit another all time high this year.

I think it will be a bad year for crypto. The market will remain low and will only develop when governments adopt blockchain with crypto-related policies.

This year it looks like bitcoin prices and markets have declined slightly in the middle. but for the end of the year I still don't know for sure whether it will indeed decrease or not.

When I am trading, I usually use charts by 15m 1H 4H and 1D. But to analyze crypto market in year-view. You should check the chart in Weekly or Monthly basis.
In my opinion, Bitcoin cannot break the ATH that it made in earlier 2018. I hope BTC can recover $15,000 by the end of this year/

2018 is not a good year for cryptocurrencies so far but dont lose hope, if you are here in crypto for some quite now then im sure that you know what cryptocurrencies are able to do. They can fall down a lot and they might also bounce high, everything is possible to happen here.

yes, for me this  not  going to  be  boom  like previous  year. due to high volatility all are  moving to  another commodities. new comers also not keen to invest and they are  panic.

2019 will be  a great year

in the year 2018 this, crypto market indeed continued to show a decline. in fact I see the market more often red. and it is indeed had made me very worried. But, how again, can only keep trying the best course.

2019 will be a dismal year. Because I think the whale manipulation strategy is still there, they will not be easy for the market to grow strongly.

Nobody can predict what will happen in the cryptocurrency market in 2019, but by 2018 the crypto market will actually go down, I joined in early 2018 hoping to get a lot of profit but this year's crypto market is really bad. In this 2018, the crypto will not strongly increase, Bitcoin only approx 7000$ only and also altcoin can not high price like in 2017. We need to wait and hope in 2019, the cryptocurrency will strongly increase.

The market situation in the last 2017 are looks like a different this year because 2017 is all time high (ATH). The situation now in the market are hoping for the recovery from the last dip and I think we need to wait more time to see it.

Honestly if we refer from our previous experienced bitcoin will have a chance to recovered what was being declined and this will probably happen this coming fourth quarter of this year. It will possibly recovered much higher than previous year and maybe will create an another history of all times high.

Definitely no one can predict the future in 2018 cryptocurrency. Many prediction but nobody knows what will happen. The volatility of price is very unpredictable. Crypto currency is the second name of unpredictable assets! You never know what will come up front because just now the crypto is hitting above the price of 7K+ and thus showing some good sings. Now there was time when BTC stayed below 6K USD throughout the year and periodically tried to come up with good rates. Now is the time when most of the people might just be thinking about entering the market as they pass on the summer holidays and try their luck with the crypto currencies. If they do then surely this market is going to spike like heaven and you will soon experience the 10K ++ rates too.

I doubt it will get back close to $20k either, wouldn't surprise me if it went back up past $10k though which would still be good enough for me.

2018 is a lot weaker then 2017. We experienced the best results in the end of 2017 and I personally think it takes more than few months to recover back

in my opinion, in 2018 crypto will not explode in 2017, it will still be better in 2017. Maybe the cryptocurrency will only recover to normal prices, and there has been no significant increase this year.

The money market in 2018 is very bad. Prices are very volatile, and my investment is more profitable than words. I am waiting for a big breakthrough in the price of bitcoin in the near future. If the price of bitcoin increases my life will change.

I agree. Lets just wait until the market recovers. With lots of negative feedbacks circulating in social media regaeding bitcoin, i think ita just normal that the market will go down. 

The cryptocurrency market in 2018 has not really been one that anyone or most people expected. Everyone though that they would be making so much this year, thinking we would be having a bull season, with each coin reaching for the moon, but the reverse has actually been the case, seeing that everything came out with what we least expected. A crash!

    I don`t think that price will make new ATH this year too, but next year, or the one after next year can be a jackpot
for all those people who hold some crypto-currencies.
   Crypto-currency portfolio isn`t my idea, I saw that from older members here. When I think that trough I found how
good it is to have that portfolio with different coins. It`s what I`m working on, and that future ATH is what I`m waiting

Well no one really knows if Bitcoin/altcoin price will reach new ATH or not this year. You maybe right or wrong and so many speculation spreading around the globe. Bitcoin/altcoin is still evolving and people will realize it's potential in the upcoming years for sure.

It also took time to raise the price because I was sure that all that was needed needed recognition from the wider community.
If we continue to be patient about this, maybe later we will take the sweet results.

This year has not been finished and I think that all general positive effects will be in the end of it. It was last year and I consider that the situation will be replayed.

I think that this year it’s not worth counting on the growth of cryptocurrency. This year there will be only a recovery and already from the new year there will be a growth in cryptocurrency. In the near future Bitcoin will be $ 10,000.

hello! maybe you're right, the market needs some time and though it'd be really awesome present for a christmas to us, a healthy market, i don't think it'll happen before 2019

I heard that at the moment the team of bitcoin developers offered an alternative way to solve the problem with scaling, if everything goes according to plan, the market will recover by 2019!

2018 has given a lot for us and our current position could be better even the last stagnancy of the market was avoided. Anyway the bull run is coming now and the result could be changed.

I think it will be so, the market is just now cooling off, and it is obvious that this will continue further, everyone expects growth, but it will not be for a long time. I have noticed that since March of this year, people have been expecting growth in each following month.
