Announcing Petcoin [XPET]

A Portuguese cryptocurrency to help the animal shelters.

The idea of Petcoin was born in 2017. It all began with a group of friends from different backgrounds but something in common: a passion for animals. From volunteering in shelters and organizations to adopting and rescuing animals, we started to realize it was not enough.
Both animal shelters and individuals who dedicate their free time to rescue and recover abandoned animals struggle a lot. First, Portugal lacks effective animal welfare laws and policies. Abandoning an animal just recently became a crime, but with the lack of control it is practically impossible to identify and punish the infractors. Besides that, there isn’t a capture and sterilization policy at a national level that helps to control stray animals. These animals keep on reproducing and increasing the number of stray animals. This is a never-ending problem, and shelters and organizations end up rescuing, recovering, spaying and neutering, and starting the adoption process, everything without any governmental help. And here we have another problem. There are not enough families available for every animal in need and many stay in shelter for years and are not adopted, which is a permanent expense for these shelters. To make everything worse, these animals are mostly old and/or with some kind of disease, so they need extra care, attention and treatments/medicine. Not everyone can pay for what a senior or sick animal needs, so once again shelters take care of this.
For all of this, Petcoin was born, to fill a gap in our country, with hopes of repercussion around the globe.
Premined at 12%, which will be delivered to animal organizations (10%) and used to keep the project going on (2%), we aim to be a voice for the voiceless.
This way, the associations can have a new revenue source and enterprises get a new ever-growing young and exciting client niche!

Our main goals are:
-Create and maintain a flowing network of Petcoin users, strongly maintained by our donations to the shelters and animal associations and by all the commerce involved with the project, hopefully improving the wellbeing of all their animals.
-Introduce Petcoin as an alternative payment with all our features such as ring signatures, ring confidential transactions and stealth addresses.
-Keep creating new features and adding content to the project, as well as new partners and associations in need.

Petcoin is a humanitarian project. This electronic money generates revenue for organizations and individuals seeking shelter and organizations to adopt and save animals. Animal protection is strictly regulated by national law. What is the difficulty of this project when individuals and organizations volunteering in countries do not support electronic money?

I don't see the information about exchange plan above. At least, you have a prepared the plan where to list the Petcoin later. People will less trust in this project when you don't share it. It's my suggestion, but in this case, i think it's a better way.  ;)    

Hi! We clearly state in our white paper that animal wellfare laws and policies in Portugal are few to none. Only recently animal abandonment became a crime and even so, it's very hard to find and punish infractors. Most shelters in Portugal are volunteers and get not governamental help. This is where Petcoin will come in scene!

Hi! We still have no obvious planning, but we are open to any suggestions. We still haven't found a reasonable alternative because of our lack of funds, since they all have very high entry fees. That's the main reason we are releasing this ICO.

I like the project that cares about life. I see Petcoin really cares about the animals' life. Honestly, i am very impressed with the reasons why you provide this project. You started with a group of friends from different backgrounds for one reason that's a passion for animals. You are great people. If you think you're going to try and pull at people heart strings by chastising us over our lack of empathy over the suffering of poor animals, then you

should go shaft yourself with the biggest and thorniest cactus you can find.

Get some pictures up holding signs saying petcoin with today's date, do a livestream so that people can verify who is behind this and then maybe once people are convinced this is genuine, then you might garner some interest.

Until that happens, it's just another silly scam by an amateur.

This project focuses the importance of the animals. I'm happy that this could really helpful to animals that were abandoned by the owner. We all know that animals also needs a care or even a home so hoping to the success of this project.

First of all, thanks for all the input and tips.
Second, we can be seen as greedy, but i also think you know that we can't go on with the project without getting into an exchanger, and for that you need a kind of money none of us have. We could try to keep the gofundme campaign secret or somthing like that but we want to be as transparent as possible! We will also drop the fundraiser and ICO as soon as we have the funds to enter a exchanger. As for the team yes, we will be updating that part, as well as the rest of the site.

I'm glad this project is very concerned about animal protection, but it looks more like a charity project to make wild animals protected and get a better place, but sorry, this makes me a little hesitant to invest before your community is recognized by the state, or local government, but I appreciate this project, hopefully it works well

Thank you for your input! Unfortunately we are a small team at the moment, but we aim to get all the steps of regulation possible. We are trying to use the blockchain technology in new ways, and Portugal is still a little behind in those aspects, but we wish to create more discussion about it! We'll always be the more transparent possible! We hope to grow more by each day mainly with older users who can guide us throughout this process!

I like the idea, I like animals, and I understand the problem you're talking about. However, I don't understand, has your token already been issued on exchanges? And what exactly will blockchain help? I think your idea needs work.

No, that's why we are trying to collect the amount necessary to enter an exchange. We want to introduce the blockchain techonology in Portugal, as it isn't that well known around here. We are a small team of friends at the moment, and this project still needs much work as you said, and we are open to new ideas and ways of making this project work the best way possible!

I want to know your strategy in promoting this Petcoin project? I think you need to provide an easy campaign to spread out the information about your project. It will be not effective if you just provide this thread only.

We are mainly promoting our project through ours and our partners social networks and at their associations. We have also contacted various commercial partners (like vets, animal food supliers, etc) and we are trying to expand them in everyway we can.

Very good and human idea, and project is quite unique. I would like it to be listed at www.icoguide.com as a lot of people trust their rates and read their reviews. It would be great to hear the opinion of their experts.

Is this Petcoin project trying to create some kind of animal conservation? I think it will be better to also makes the place as some kind of zoo, where the visitor also able to give some kind of contribution for the animals through ticketing.

A sort of "Animal World" with rescued animals, that people could visit by food or animal-beneficient product donations would be an ultimate goal of this team. For the time being, we are a lot more focused in helping animal shelters in need. Some of the shelters contacted by us are already on full capacity and no resources for expansion and even maintenance. There are even cases where the shelter will have to close or be moved, since they have no conditions to keep the lot.

all the concepts that you describe are very good, but I have doubts about this platform. this platform is like a charity project for animal protection, that's good. for attractiveness for investors, I think this project is still lacking.

If we say about any project which has full chance to become big in future and still isn't catching eyes of people is OAX. They are not hyping and using all energy and sources on development and making relations on other businesses. It seems that when working platform will be ready they will go with full strength to market it.
