It is currently on block 15 (first 1440 blocks will get only 1 coin subsidy so its fair for miners)

The basic code changes are done.  i'm just testing some things.  and then checkin mapcheckpoints after a few more blocks have passed.. maybe up to 50.

The premine is being used 100% to compensate for the scammed victims.  We already have a list.

The name has a bad rep, known to be a scam... why bother keeping the name at all? not only that, this makes it an IPO coin by donating the same amount to people that got screwed. So back to square one again!

I feel bad for anybody that get scammed but crypto IPO are like going to Vegas and betting on Double 0, you can't keep helping the one that lost because the odds are favoring the house.

I understand the need to help the community but if you didn't have the money to gamble with you shouldn'T be gambling.

I'm doing this completely for free, no donations needed.  I already have VPS's paid for from previous efforts.. so this just costs me a bit of time, that's it.

Well, disregarding whatever you believe, the donations will be given straight to the victims of the first StackCoin.  If we get a lot of donations and there's extra premine left, we'll use it towards different giveaways or future bounties.

Just following the original specs of this coin, exactly to the letter.  

The only thing is the from block halving, the original coin/block i think was actually wrong.  It's actually supposed to be 3.2M reward , with monthly (21k block) halving.. so i corrected that (i think).  :)

the original coin claimed to have some great new feature like trading in the wallet and some devs behind it and included an IPO that was based on those features. now this coin has absolutely no feature besides a giant premine that goes to a (to me) unknown list of people. i don't think you really thought this through.

It can be done:

Just send copy+paste TXID of transfer at first.  (plase don't send it yet this stuff isn't ready yet.)

If there is a collision then it will have to be resolved by sending a small amount of BTC from original sending address to holder of premine.  (holder will also send that small amount back as it was only used for verification purposes).

Okay guys, the basic network is up.  The *basic* code is complete, along with 1 seed node.

It's mining on a couple of test machines i have.  First 1400 blocks is only 1 reward, so we are fair to miners while we tie up rest of loose ends.  This was just to generate checkpoints, and make sure things worked in production.

In the meantime, I'll: work on art assets, build the QT windows/linux client (sorry someone else will have to build mac), put up a website with the links to binaries, and populate the other 2 seed nodes..

Here's a quick question, how do you know some of those invested IPO's aren't just the scammer sending btc to himself to make it look more than it is?

Well we will look at the original blockchain up to the time of the scam announcement.. so any additional funds being put into that account will NOT be eligible..

If the scammer did pay himself.. okay well yeah he's eligible to claim some of these coins.  But I'm guessing that's either a small risk/small amount, and is capped.  Heck if he did donate 50% of the bitcoins himself.. well then at least we will know that he made off with a lot less than he claimed. 

All in all 69B were claimed to have been stolen from people (by the scammer).  So that is the amount we will reimburse.

So why go through all this work to reimburse the people scammed from Stackcoin? What about all the other previous scams? I can understand wanting to help people out who are in need, but if people were willing to send Bitcoins to a new user with no track record because they thought they could get rich quick, they don't really deserve the charity of getting their money back.

Well personally, I joined cryptos pretty late (december-ish).. but even so, in the last few months I've made quite a lot of BTC from mining legitimately.  Mostly from MAX and VTC.  

I was watching stackcoin from sidelines and was looking to mine it for a while.. when i saw this whole thing go down.  TBH I feel really badly for the people that lost their hard earned BTCs..

I feel like i should give something back to the community that's given me so much.. programming is fun, and helping others is fun.  I'm a software engineer by training, and work at one of the top hightech firms.. so this whole world has been quite enjoyable to be in except for all the scams.

Yeah i can't help everyone for all the scams out there, but hey this one is something i think i can help with.


Update: i registered www.realstackcoin.org, and setup a vps webserver to point to it... (going to take awhile to update) if anyone wants to design a web page.. feel free to send me a pkg with it :)

Update:

I decided to stop the production seed node mining, in case i run out of time.. so it's stuck at block 274 right now on the seed node.  Reminder: blocks 2-1440 only have a reward of 1 (check src on github).  So its just to give enough time to finish rest of assets before mining "really" commences" to be fair to all the miners out there.


I'm building the windows QT wallet client now.. which is turning out to be more esoteric than originally thought... so going to setup a virtualbox on my dev machine in case i mess up.  After this: I'll replace art assets and rebuild: at which point it'll basically be launch-ready, hopefully in another day or two.

Website will be pretty trivial so leaving that till last, domain registered, web server is already setup.. just going to download some free template, and cut and paste some stuff to link the wallets.

The dev team is just me atm.. the code for RealStackCoin is already done, pushed and deployed onto VPS node.  With exact same parameters as original Stackcoin.

Just building OS platform wallets now.

We're really talking about different projects: community coin with new parameters.  And the original stackcoin as was originally promised.

People who got scammed, can claim one, or the other.. or both.. doesn't matter to me.

Meh .. big deal.  Made more than that legitimately over the last few months.  

Small time criminals like this will always get what's coming, and i'm sure in a matter of months he will be out of cash and looking for the next scam.  If he had the real chops to develop this coin, he'd be worth way more to himself, than this scam.  With real knowledge and hard work, every one of you will be better off than that scam artist in the years to come.

I really don´t understand why all this fuss in re-launching a failed coin .. with an enormous premine, there are better ways to compensate those who were scammed.

Micryon ... do you think  that a coin with such big pre-mine has any other future than being pumped and dumped?

I don't know what the future holds.. I only know that people paid money for this exact product.  Whether or not it'll succeed or fail, is an orthogonal issue.  It could very well fail, but all the investors knew what those parameters were.. so they deserve to get their coin.

And in the meantime I'm doing what i enjoy best: developing, hacking and learning. :)

Instead of sending bitcoin to confirm a victim, why not use a signed message?

I really do NOT recommend using this name for a new coin! It is too confusing everytime you want to tell people about the most criminal coin launch!
I would just let the name "Stackcoin" stand for a criminal action so that everyone can refer to the original tragedy by using "Stackcoin". Then nobody has to think about REAL Stackcoin and Stackcoin (scam)... That is too confusing, leave the tragedy as it is and start something new. It is like building a NEW FUKUSHIMA... i really don't like that idea..

Maybe call it DESASTERCOIN [DEC] to remind us of STACKCOIN but you never call something new the same name as a tragedy.

The sender can sign any message to prove that (s)he holds the private key of the sender's address.


IF there is a conflict, then the real sender can easily prove who (s)he is.

not if he sent his coins from an exchange like coinex.

Is this for real?  Why are you doing this?  This coin is a joke.  Nobody's going to buy/mine it.  You won't get it listed on any exchanges because it's tainted.  Why waste any more time with this scam?  All you're doing is giving the people that got scammed false hope.  It's best people moved on rather than waste anymore time with this nonsense.  The money's gone.  This coin isn't going to get it back.  It's just a waste of time.   

i liked the idea at first but as i see how it is going to be released i'm not sure about it.. probably it will be worth nothing or if we have luck for a short time. it will be released to fast and without innovations. at first we were collecting good people for a new community coin project and now it seems that they want to release a new trash coin... very sad. now that we collect good people we should consider bringing some innovations into that project and create a coin that will last long-term and is automatically connected with our idea of helping people. maybe even after everyone got his investment back, so maybe a coin with which we could help people hit by catastrophes.. don't know who this could be done technically and organizational but it is just an idea..

... which could simply mean "thanks, bye bye" - and the latercomers who buy that premine
are the scammed ones instead - prices fall fall fall - and this coin probably soon slides into oblivion ...

So. Instead of a premine ... what about hardcoding a sidemine,
which slowly feeds either directly to the victims, or to a central address,
over the following months.


Then there would be a compensation.

This community could grow together very much around this coin, which is almost guaranteed to stay alive that long, because ~150 people have stakes in it.


One option is:

During the first

 70,000 blocks or
140,000 blocks or
210,000 blocks or

70BTC worth of whatever-you-call-that-compensation coin
is given to the victims, slowly over time, block by block.

To predict which is a good cut-off,
we could use estimates of other coins (marketcap vs blocknumber),
(when will the total sidemine be worth 70BTC?)


The newbies who have trusted too much would get their money back,
BUT they would not make profit, and that's the learning punishment in it.


And then, at the cutoff, then there are dozens of additional options when that goal is reached.
Those options could simply be voted for, when the time is coming closer to the cutoff.


One option, for example, after the victims of this scam have been reimbursed, the coin could continue to exist, as an "insurance / compensation coin" for similiar cases.

Because even if the cryptocommunity fixes this current problem
(by e.g. escrow IPOs ... or however), criminals will find a new way to scam newbies.

I agree with InsanityDev, no need to rush this, is it?

Let's be creative, create something beautifully new now.

yes yes that is excatly what i tried to tell you.
after the "compensation" we could also use that sidemined coins to help people outside of bitcoin in the "real world" and make the coin/bitcoin more popular! Imagine bitcoin in media as helping people in trouble, for example after a catastrophe! the acceptance and popularity of bitcoin would raise to the "moon". just think of it. we do not need to hurry and get the coin released now.. we have to do something brilliant and new.

I have to admit, I was one of those who sent BTC to the first StackCoin. I can prove it as I sent it from a BTC address I control.

It's a painful lesson, but this thread has given me a little hope of not entirely losing out.

I am also replying to the other thread about the community coin version of this. There, I volunteered to act as escrow for the donations. More details there if you care to know more.

In any case, since I am already a part of this, I volunteer to act as escrow, if you guys need or want it.

As a little background:

1. I do escrows from time to time. Check my escrow thread, and check my trust here on this forum.

2. I do a donation thing, where people donate coins, and I go out and use it in a project to feed starving and malnourished children. The thread is linked in my sig.

3. I used to run a bitcoin based lotto / raffle game which is provably fair. It ran for several weeks, and everyone who won got paid. Related to this, I can also host or do your own private raffle, and I did one for the owner of a popular dice site.

4. I did several Group Buys: for avalon chips, for USB asic miners. Everyone who participated in those got what they paid for. I was a part of a small group of people that helped design a single chip USB based bitcoin miner, where we paid for development and production. I have also done a review for the dual miner, a USB scrypt asic.

5. I've recently been mining, thus getting into alt-coins.

6. Then, unfortunately, I thought the original Stack coin was legit, so I decided to send some BTC there. It was all that I had left after another trade which was unprofitable (but at least that trade was my fault, this one was just a scam.)

Summary:

I am investor 69. Proof can be provided.

I can do escrows. Either donations, or the premine or whatever. I do everything manually, so this is going to be work for me.

The new devs can decide what they could use from me.

The original coin was supposed to pay out the Stack coins over 10 days, 10% at a time. I propose that this be done over a longer time frame, maybe 10% every week or something like that.

i think this new coin should be with a greater aim than fully compensation the "investors" (i am one of them).
the best idea is the sidemining and helping people like described in the last post or after catasptrophes AND make it recognized by our medias.
our aim should not be to fully compensate the investors as it was also our fault that we invested in scam. this coin should only compensate the loss a little bit.
but if that new coins makes its way into helping others and into the media this will help the whole bitcoin network and then of course we profit from that a lot... think about that. mining and trading as normal and with the sidemining helping others and making the coin popular. for me that sounds quite good :)

Some naive people got scammed by some chump and a fake coin.

In an attempt to recover their losses you want to continue this crap coin project.

This crap coin will be premined 5% with those coins going to those that were scammed.

Those that got scammed will immediately try to sell those coins if there is even an exchange that will list this crap coin.

Anyone dumb enough to buy this crap coin will soon watch their investment evaporate because this crap coin isn't going anywhere.

It looks like the goal of this coin is to recover peoples losses by scamming others.

This is just another scam.  What's really troubling is the amount of people ready to jump on this scam bandwagon. 

You should name this coin what it actually is.

Is this what you said about the first version of StackCoin?  Because that's basically what this is.  We are giving everyone what they paid for, and we really don't care what they do with it.  If they just decide to dump ig, that's their choice.  However, we are going to try to make this coin successful!

I didn't say anything about the first stackcoin.  I took one look at it and realized it was nothing more than a scam.  I feel sorry for those that lost their money but scamming others with this crap coin to get their money back is even a bigger scam.

I have not changed my opinion.. in general I still don't believe in premine coins.  I support VTC 100%.. still do (see my sig, it's VTC all the way).

But I also do support the alt crypto community.  And I've always kept my promises.  

The promise for this coin is to distribute fairly 100% of premine to all victims of the original stackcoin scam.  

In that sense, its no less fishy than if Stackcoin had launched as originally planned.. which is exactly what i'm offering.. I'm not offering making this the next big thing like VTC or any of the sort.. this is not the coin that will take over bitcoins or whatever.

This effort is purely about giving people what they paid for.

Hi, I'm one of the investors and I agree with kevinkk525, if this coin is released just to compensate the investors it's doomed from the start as we can't create any tangible value this way.
Maybe at least make a fund from a part of the investors share and use it to promote the coin or to do some real development (maybe deliver some of originally promised innovations).
Even that maybe not enough, we need incentive for the community to invest in this, for the miners to put their hash on, and I don't think it's there (Yet?).

While i think it's a great idea to make a new coin, and make something new and great..  that is a much bigger effort.

I don't want to make any fake promises, and I want to be 100% transparent: I looked at this coin after the whole scam drama, and knew I could deliver almost 100% of it.. because it is what it is: a pretty simple clone coin.  

A new effort that is the next big thing than sliced bread.. i'll probably need a lot more help.. and will likely be a future project.

There's many people (especially original investors) who are signed up to promote it. And sure I'll keep developing features on it if there's interest.

People can argue: why waste time, another clone shitcoin etc.. but that's fine: it's my time to waste.  If it's doomed for fail, then just ignore this thread and don't claim your coins (no skin off my back).  That risk could have be there had stackcoin really launched as planned.

i tried to give some good ideas for an innovative coins but obviously they just get ignored.. even critical comments are better than none.
and by the way: we won't compensate anything, if we do it with premine and without innovation. STACKCOIN was only that popular because of the wallet improvements.
launch a new coin without that innovation and it will fail. there would be no difference to every other scamcoin. so let us use the know-how of the good people here and create an awesome new coin!

Well, we could try to make some of the wallet innovations, but it might take longer than we expect.

But we need to get started somewhere.  And that is by first launching the base network of the coin. (which is effectively done at this point).

The wallet innovations can come after.  The coin never promised any changes in the base protocol, or hash algo (which is good because that would have been a lot more work).

Some wallet UI stuff calling some rest APIs is trivial stuff once we get going... but better to get going now with what we can and innovate over time.


Took a look at it the original thread again, the wallet "innovations" are pretty easy.. the only hard part is getting this on an exchange, hopefully some of the people promoting this will do that.  Once it's on a decent exchange with APIs.. it'll just be a matter of making some pretty looking (or in this case they aren't even pretty) buttons that call some REST Apis...

This scammer could have made out with a lot more if he just actually went about and launched this coin as promised.. he did all the work to promote it... got it on pools.  All the tech stuff is pretty trivial.

Yep. Those who were scammed, I definitely feel bad for them, but at the end of the day investing in a coin IPO is extremely risky and they chose to take that risk.

5% premine is absolutely outrageous, so I won't be mining it.

that is why i recommend the "sidemining" option but of course that means a lot more work... but a 5% premined coin will fail as soon as the investors dumped them. and even if they do not dump them, not many will mine them because of the 5% premine except we get some innovations... so difficult because no miner will read everything here except the 5% premine... :/

Did you even read the thread?

I did read the thread, and the 5% premine will destroy this coin, it will ensure it never gains any real value and is too risky to invest or mine because there are heaps of investors holding premine that is a far greater quantity than any miners will be able to mine.

Perhaps a 0.5% premine would be more acceptable, then the premine holders would at least have to work to give the coin value because they'd be holding less. With 5% premine this will never be profitable for miners so hardly anyone will bother mining it.

I'm a miner and I won't be touching something with such an outrageous premine and a bunch of investors who have just been burned and will be hungry to dump their outrageously large premine ASAP for profit.

Would it be possible to distribute premine between the investors partially-in longer time period, so it wont be probable that they could crash the market, Im sure we can do something with premine to lower the risk of dumping.

I think the somewhat manual process of verification of premine and the distribution will implicitly make that happen anyhow.  Some will claim premine first, others will take awhile..

You can't turn this into anything positive because it's still just another crap coin.  But go ahead, waste your time and whoever else decides to embark on this fools errand.  Give out your 5% premine to the suckers that got scammed and then let them suffer even more by giving them hope that their worthless coins will ever be worth anything.  The money's gone.  Launching this crap coin is just a waste of time and will never compensate those that were naive enough to send some mealy faced punk their btc.  Sometimes it's best to just put a sick dog out of it's misery.  

It's commendable that you want to do something but all your going to do is give people the false belief that they're going to get their money back.  They won't and the sooner people come to terms with that fact the sooner they can move on.  People got ripped off and the thief is long gone with the money.

The only way to increase the value is to cut half the stake of all the investors. Thereby having 2.5% premine. The coin could be a success since the name Stakecoin is already being established and it will not take long for it to get added to exchange.

Sure... the thief is long gone, and yeah ultimately: people did get ripped off.  I think everyone of the investors already realize that.  I doubt anyone at this point holds any illusions about what happened... there's no sugarcoating it.

But that doesn't mean the only option is to give up.  Sure, it is a valid a option, a simpler option.. you can always look at a situation and give up all hope.  Glass can be half empty or half full.  I tend to be a guy who believes in the latter.. :)

It doesn't cost anything more for the original investors than to watch what happens here.. it only costs my time (and the time of those who want to be involved)... Which although can be considered a "waste" in reality, it's not , because coding practice is never a waste.

My time zone is UTC+8 (Philippines, Manila, home to the founder of another alt-coin.)

I've handled and did escrow for way more than 70 BTC, (how much was the MOQ for avalon gen1 chips?), and everyone who has ever sold me anything has my home address. Even though the price of BTC back then was ten times lower, the amount of BTC was ten times more, so the equivalent fiat value is the same.

I also live by a code that goes something like: I do not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do. That may look familiar to some of you. A cursory check on my background should reveal some other details, but that's off-topic already.

Many of us who invested did so in good faith. If we only get the same Real Stackcoins as the original plan, in a similarly designed coin, with almost identical parameters, then it sounds fair.

The original coin also had this parameter:

Both are identical until the second month. The first one decreases really fast and its up in the air what happens on the 8th month or maybe very low block reward.

My personal opinion is the second one. However, like many other similar fast decrease coins, I think there should be a final fixed forever block reward, maybe 10,000 coins, or even 1,000 coins.

Another note, as mentioned in my earlier post, is to credit the pre-mined IPCO coins over a longer period of time, and to only those in the first 2 rounds. The bonus was not part of the original plan.

My suggestion is 10% every week. If you invested and were supposed to get 100M STACK, then when the coin launches, you will get 10M STACK every week for the next 10 weeks.

This gives everyone at least 2 months before anything crazy happens and prevents an immediate dump. The weak hands will sell. Those of us who really believe in the coin will hold. Everyone else will do some trading or mining or whatever. Those who are late to claim, but do so, will eventually get their STACK. Those who don't claim within a reasonable period of time (maybe 10 weeks later? after the regular people have gotten all their coins) forfeit and gets proportionally distributed to the rest of the investors who have already claimed.

Anyone who does not even attempt a claim or unable to prove his undeniable ownership or control of the coins for 10 weeks ... I think that's a reasonable amount of time. But to be truly fair, it should be held in public escrow until the end of the year. Most should have made a claim then. If you have not yet, then maybe you are in a coma or something, sorry.

I also suggest a minimum transaction fee of 0.01 per 1000 bytes.

UPDATE: after a days worth of reinstalling VMs and downloading libs, finally have Windows client compiling (that was way too unnecessarily hard).  Just have to do QT/Linux QT/Mac builds.. shouldn't be long now.  Wallet is auto connecting to seed nodes, and accepting currently generated blocks (at 283 now)

I cannot post in the community coin thread, maybe locked. (needs new name though, community coin taken).

But it should be pursued.

1.  A coin that pays out a percentage of each block to helping out scammed victims.

2.  Groups can petition to have they cause looked into and becoming registered as victims.

3.  Victims would be encouraged to mine the coin, and continue to mine even after paid off to help others.
  -  People would basically donate to help out by pointing their miners over - and they generate their own profit while doing so.

4.  We would support anti-scam initiatives.  We would do free background checking on any future IPO.  As well as provide reviews of escrow or assist in that.

The latin word names are cool, things dealing with helping others.

I commonly see people say "hey, those people where greedy so they deserved to get scammed."

This is not a good attitude.  We should help eachother as a community, to preserve our image.  There is a lot of people saying the crypto world is foul and scammy, but we can help change that.

IPOs can be great things.  But people are scared, some want to dismiss them altogether.  We just don't have good mechanisms in place.

We're not ready to take claims yet, as I need to put the final pieces of this coin together in the next few days.. but once we make the ANN announcement, we will open to all claims for people that were scammed by original Stackcoin.

I've found miners are more receptive towards a coin if you pre release the wallet as a passworded zip. Just a thought.

Yeah i could do that.. however it's not entirely necessary as I've programmed the blocks between 2-1440 to return only a reward of 1.. this will allow miners to get everything setup while the clock counts down.  Should be about 1 day worth of time to get wallet, pools, or whatever needed to setup.

I know this doesn't look as fancy as was in the original stackcoin design.. but hey... at least it's real :) 

There's still some things to tidy up in the UI: it is not showing right decimal place, which will get to tomorrow.  Think we will just launch with this, and add more client innovations in the future.  But this should get us started.

Once this gets listed on an exchange, i can work on integrating UI for what was originally promised with the client.  And anything else RFE that you guys want.  Client changes can be iterative, since they can get updated without affecting rest of network..

More testing in next few days, but we're close.

We have some options:
   - Redistribute them as percentage to people who made claims
   - Reserve / save it for bounties for the coin itself..


Some other protocol level decisions that probably should be made is whether we:
  - integrate transaction maleability fix from bitcion master branch
  - integrate adaptive nfactor from one of the other projects

As long as no-one gives them any money you should be fine, it is not like it is costing investors anything more.

Now, if they started asking for money I would begin worrying that this is just someone trying to make some quick coins, but that has not happened yet.  If the development for this coin does ask for money then I would be very concerned, as they where fully aware of the other thread where people where going to recreate StackCoin under a different name to help those who where scammed (but had not decided on a new name or how it would be set up).  They basically went behind everyone's back and cut everyone from that group out of the development side of this project.

I don't really care who releases this coin, as long as it doesn't become a profit-venture for them.

It will not be a profit venture, I may setup a donation address for anyone that wants to refund me like $50 for the domain name (realstackcoin.org + 3 VPS servers to host seed nodes/website).. but that's the only cost for this effort.  And i can cover that myself too , no problem either.. :)


Okay, i will need someone to volunteer at this point to create the "master list of claims", along with verification process.  It's kind of a manual , organization work.. keep a spreadsheet on google docs or something.. Can someone step up to do that?

Thanks for helping to test.. but don't think you'll get any extra coins. I'm planning a hard fork w/ rebuild right before launch so everyone can get a fair start (or as fair as can be expected with 5% premine anyhow...)

You have pointed out that 1440 is not nearly enough time , even with KGW.. so we'll have to start at block 10000 or something at least.

i sent STACKCOIN 0.5 BTC, and can i get realstackcoins? i loss that much.

I propose or suggest the following:

1. One week announce time before going live, meaning one week the wallets are ready in zips with password.
2. One week 1.0 RSC block reward.

Those two combined above will give everyone more than enough time to grab the wallet, set up pools, miners, etc. Everything will be as fair as possible, for the miners anyway. Those who get really early get to test their systems.

Everyone who is mining by the 10,000th block starts receiving the "real" reward, at the correct fork or blockchain, at the appropriate difficulty level.

Actually i realized that rogue miner exposed a real bug.. KGW not implemented properly right now.  It went from 300->1700 blocks in 5 hours, that should not have happened.  So some more work i need to do to get KGW properly done.  If KGW properly implemented, we probably just need block 2500 to start giving out rewards (should be 4 days).

I'm patient. 4 days, 7 days, ... as long as it is properly implemented. We wouldn't want 500 mh/s to kill the coin 2 weeks after launch. We will have a healthy coin by the time it reaches 1 GH/s.

Can you tell me how the claim process will work? I sent .2 BTC to the scammer and was wondering when I should provide my transaction details.

I'm guessing you should try this, in this priority:

1. sign a bitcoin message using any of the bitcoin addresses you used to send.
2. be the first to claim the transaction id with detailed explanation why you dont have the private key (sent from an exchange, mining pool, your friend's wallet, or android wallet that drowned in the pacific ocean with video proof or something else.)
3. if the #2 above is true, maybe somewhere in the blockchain, you have one address that led to that address, or some way to trace the flow of coins from a bitcoin address you do control.

If you can do #1, then your claim can easily be verified.

The exact details or instructions will be provided.

Still taking volunteers on putting together that process btw.. :)


The basic premise will be: prove you owned the transaction address that sent coins to the scammer address.

  1) method 1 as mentioned above: sure bet.. You do this, its yours  (btw someone needs to post instructions on how to do this completely)

  2) if sent from exchange/or somewhere else, we'll need you to verify you have control of that wallet address by sending a small amount using that address you sent to scammer to specific BTC address (tbd).  This amount will be returned to the sender's address upon reception and verification, but it shows you owned control of original sending address.

  3) Just lay claim to one of the original scam transaction publically: and if no one else claims it.. in let's say 2 weeks.  Its yours.  This will give hopefully enough time for any claim collisions to be resolved.  Claims will be all publicly broadcasted.. so if anyone wants to contest, they can.  In the event of a contest.  Resort to method #2)

What if it was sent from Coinbase where they generate a new wallet address each time you send. I can provide a screenshot of the list of wallets I have generated from my account. Would that work?

Open it for pre-registration or something. I suggested a one week low reward transition "fairness" period for the difficulty to stabilize, while everyone gets mining. This can be as short as 4 days. Depends on the dev.

Or you could loan a trusted member or escrow your login details, so he can verify your claim, then you change your password after that. If you do this, I suggest you empty your Coinbase wallet, so there is no chance of coin theft.

I would be willing to do this for free. Tips appreciated. If you have 2FA on your webwallet, either you turn it off, OR if you can catch me online when both of us are awake, do a real time chat and message me your auth code.

An alternative is to allow the trusted member or escrow access to your email. The scammer sent you a confirmation message right? Do NOT forward the email. Forwarded emails are easier to forge than to photoshop a fake wallet. I have no interest in your private emails, I get enough spam on my own.


Okay, if no one else does it, I'll make a post, but there are many tutorials all over this forum and on the interwebz on how to sign a bitcoin message. I will suggest the message be simple: contains your user name or email address, your investor ID number, and exactly what you sent.

I do think #3 should be longer than 2 weeks. What if someone comes over here 3 weeks later, and shows a signed message? He just lost his coins to someone else who claimed it. I understand 1 year is too far away, but that's for unclaimed RSC. Claimed RSC without signed messages, maybe 4 weeks or 1 month. If someone else claims the same investor ID number, then it's dispute resolution time. The one who shows the best looking proof will get the claim.

I never got a confirmation email. I can provide you access to my coinbase account but how can I be sure purchases are not made since it's a direct link to my bank account? Not saying I don't trust you I just want to be careful. I just sent  you  PM

For the coinbase and other accounts...without giving a direct acces to verify...you can always setup a "viewing" session trough tools like logmein or teamviewer....

The scammer stopped sending email confirmations the last day.  It looks like there were several victims after #149 up until the ill fated launch time.  Myself included, unfortunately.  I think I may have been #150 if emails had been sent to the last few in the bonus round.

I'm not sure if the launch was supposed to be at 16:00 or 17:00, but you could decide to allow any verified claims from Feb. 22. 

But you are right, the majority of the victims will have the bogus email confirmations.

Only a handful.  Those that dont have an email can use the other options.  Email will handle most of the claims.

I don't think that is a good way.
why don't just give them your RealStackCoin according to their loss?
I mean you don't have to rely on donation to help those victims if you have a Real good coin.
There are too many scams, IPCO or donation should be avoided as much as possible.

UPDATE: Okay i fixed the final bug i found through testing.. there was a hardcoded limit to max amount of money you can send through the CLI.. to 84,000,000... kind of a P1 bug, but still .. found and pushed the fix.  I think we're about ready.. other than final build/deployment and web page..

I'll be premining behind my firewall to ~block 200 or so (1-200 are 0 reward).  200-3600 are 1 reward, and 3600 onwards are full reward as per original definition  (1 million coins / block, 15% montly decrease ~25000 blocks)  , blocks are every 2 minutes, KGW style... scrypt.

I've made all necessary social media pages.. but need some content on the website which i'll do later tonight.. and make ANN either later tonight or tomorrow.

The fake one had many interesting features, some of those was too good to be true for such small startup. That was the reason that I did not participate in fake IPO, although there was a moment when I was close to buy it)

Did not read the whole post, but looks like this one will not have anything like that? Then I'm affraid the victims will receive useless coins with price close to 0. Hope that I am mistaken anyway, good luck!
