Title: What is your strategy for hodling or selling?
Post by: noobrik on August 06, 2018, 01:14:02 PM
While this might seem like something very intuitive, it is in fact one of the most difficult things I have noticed in the crypto world. When should I sell and when should I buy for maximum profit and minimum loss? After a lot of mishaps in this space, I have come to understand that a system, strictly followed is the key.

My own system is very simple. It doesnt matter when I buy, I could buy at an ATH or midway between an ATH and an ATL; but for the sake of security I would always sell at an ATH. This system assumes there would always be a correction following an ATH, sometimes a very damaging correction that it becomes a perceived market crash. No matter when I buy, provided I don't run into some life threatening issue, I believe there would always be a new ATH, so I wait, and I sell immediately that ATH comes. The I sit back and watch the greed and FOMO take over, wait for the correction, then buy again. Rinse and repeat. The only constant that this formula relies on is that there would always be a new ATH. So far this fact is yet to be disputed.

What is your system?

Well most in the community are doing the same, They would sure buy on an All time low and sell on the All time high, Rinse and repeat, Very simple strategy for a hodler, But there are some who surely risk they even sell on an ATL because they only believe that the price will surely drop, Well I really think there are no other system on how you can properly Buy and sell on the market of Cryptocurrency.

I better hold it back when the price soars higher than it can make a big profit for us. of course this will be a more useful thing for us all.

Yeah thats why I said it might seem easy. But if you're not careful you'll be selling when you should be buying and buying when you should be selling. A lot of people make this mistake and it all comes from trying to "predict" the market

I think it will be good for you to hold when the market is down and if you have some money to invest do so at that time and sell some when the boom up.

When the market enters an underestimation, it is the best time to buy cryptocurrency. The market is currently underestimating. I think this is a good time for your investment. If the market will enter the bull market again for a while, then you can The bull market sells your cryptocurrency to make a profit.

It depends on the market condition.
I usually hold 50% of bitcoin in my portofolio when bitcoin stable and wait for bullish.
And after taking 2-5% profit from bitcoin, i'm selling it and hold fiat while i'm trading alts for other 50%

That is why I use an ATH as price point that signifies selling. But trust me a lot of people when in an ATH dont do this, instead they think the price will keep going up. And sometimes it will but rest assured it must drop before going up again to surpass the ATH and go to a new ATH. I just feel buy simply selling at an ATH, it takes away all the guessing and whatnot

It's too hard to predict good time to sell or buy :). I think you should sell when you already got profit from your holding :). If you still wanna get more then you'll lose everything easily :). Market dump and pump very quickly those recent days so don't try to do anything too risky.

Trading is buying at a low price, selling it at a higher price. the strategy in my opinion is to be smart to analyze the price that will occur. but I have a little easy strategy that we can follow Signal Bitcoin. but if you believe in that

At present, this market is still underestimated, all cryptocurrencies have fallen too much, so we should maintain enough patience to continue to hold our cryptocurrency waiting for the market to pick up, because if you sell your coins now, then you must be Loss, only continue to wait for you to profit from it, and I believe the market will definitely pick up again.

Buy cheap, hold, sell some on high, if the coin rises keep on selling and if decreases keep buying.
This would be the perfect strategy but as you need to control your short instincts and plan for long than daily change in prices.
If you diversify your money among many coins, you can even profit in a falling market.

And it is that lack of predictive abilities that make it very important to have a system to follow. A sort of price system that one would follow to the letter even if market performance is telling you to do otherwise.

If I will buy when the price drops, and hold it until the price rises. I will sell it when the price is high and have already benefited from the coin.

Mine is different than you and it's very simple, I don't have time to monitor crypto market, so I can't become a day trader, then I only buy at lower price and then hold it, even price increase 50%, I won't sell it and buy again when price dip again, my target is profit at least x5 (buy in price), if not I just holding and wait again

Holding is the best strategy for me that I applied, I have token that I bought on the hype and up until now, it does not recover. The token is sleep for several months from now. O just keep it until it become profitable. I was deceived by the hype that's why I just keep my token at the exchange waiting for the right time.

You find a coin, which only recently fell due to correction, although before that, it grew confidently. You buy, you wait, when you get to earn at least 10% of the deposit - you sell, you go look for the next one. Hold strategies.
I'm not engaged in daily trading, there is no desire. You need to lose money to understand the market and learn not to be greedy. And now I do not want to lose money)  ::) ::) ::)

I sell when I see profitable. The hold to sell the highest price is extremely dangerous and risky. Just as you wait and buy coin at the bottom.

The problem is you may be thinking an huge pump is over, then you sell, and it goes %100 from there. This happened to many people that sold at around $7500, which was the expect best possible scenario in 2017 by some traders with big followings like Tone Vays. Needless to say these people now hate themselves since they missed the peak to $20k.

Of course this is all very difficult to time. You just can't know where the limit of a bubble is, it is a gamble, so I don't see why you necessarily have to sell, just sit through it, and you will also save a ton fo tax-related headaches.

If with Bitcoin timing peaks is a bubble, imagine with altcoins, it is a total casino. So stick to Bitcoin and buy the dips. Even if it goes lower that where you buy at, you know you will not be holding a deprecating bag, contrary to what happens with 99% of altcoins.

The market is experiencing unstable fluctuations, fluctuations are low but increases and decreases irregularities making it unstable. So I have a stupid strategy, I will buy it when it starts to fall lightly and wait for it to rise again. I will sell them because of this time of rising and falling abnormally.

There were so many strategy when it comes in selling the first is when the bitcoin's value decreases and the altcoins value increases estimate the loss bitcoin value then consider the value of token that you are selling then buy again. That is the common strategy that I am doing everytime bitcoin drops.

So do you have a detector to detect when the price of the coin will reach all time high? I think the best way to go about it is buying at dip and selling when the market recovers from a major dip and makes some gain.

You need to weigh the tokens you have.
what are their plans? their future? exchanges?
their project development and everything on their roadmap.
is the token worth to hold?

like other peoples I also want to hold my coins for long term but in my previous experience I learned that we have to sell our 50% portfolio when you observe that coin is better than ICO price & hold 50% on long term risk, which is normally give you profit only rare cases it’s value goes down.

An ATH is the highest price the coin has ever achieved since its inception. Bitcoin's price is currently about a third of the ATH price which was about $20000 earlier this year. The easiest way is just to check Coinmarketcap for the ATH

For all the replies thinking I meant day-trading, that assumption is wrong. Quite the contrary I'm all about holding. I only use ATHs as a somewhat safe indicator for selling. My reason being that no matter how high it goes, there must be a drop. Th drop doesnt necessarily have to be huge, but a drop all the same, and that drop is always going to be lower than the ATH you sold at. So it allows an investor to do the most profitable aspect of investing which is buying low to sell high, or selling high to buy low later on.

This is a good strategy to make money but definitely not a good strategy to grow the bitcoins. But I am also wonders how you will know this is going to be the ATH of your coin before FOMO takes over.My strategy on the crypto currency investment is holding too longer and will sell some once I reached enough profits.

When it comes to hodling you need to know the perfect time to cash out. Greed will eat out your investments if you still wish that the value of the crypto will still increase. My strategy is, during very good market performance or bullish market I always cash out or convert half of my portfolio into fiat then wait for a huge dip and then purchase some more for a desired target profit. We need to have a goal for our investments so that there will be good results. Be always mindful of the fluctuations of the market and possible loss of value to certain cryptocurrency.

I'm now getting into Bitcoin to ride the initial wave up.  When I think the alts are looking like they want to pop I'm going to jump off Bitcoin and into alts.  When the alts look high I'm going to Jump into Tether,  When the crash happens back into Bitcoin.  What could go wrong.

Market is a really tricky place. I don't have a plan to be honest. I am selling when I see that price is more or less high. It can go down or high at any moment, you can not predict it for 100%. So, I am not taking a risk. If a price is low, I am just holding till the better days.

My investment strategy is investing long term until the coin reach the target price I have set.

OP, I am curious to know how do you determine the ATH to sell your coins?
I dont fix prices to sell my coins because I dont know if or when they would reach that price. And that is why I'm fixing sell time with an ATH. Wouldnt you know when you were in an ATH? Its simple, its the highest price the coin has ever been. For instance if btc rallies all the way to 15k, I wouldnt sell because the ATH is ~20k, but if I wake up tomorrow and see it at 21k, I'll sell it and wait. Now dont get me wrong, it might go up to even 30k after I sold, and I might be a little pissed, but I will wait for when it falls back to say 12k and buy again.

The current price range of btc is the actual current price because it has been on that range for a while. Even if a bullish run comes ahead and shoots it up to 30k, it might remain there for 2 weeks or so, but eventually it would wobble down to its equilibrium price which by then might be 12k. So it stays at 12k for like 5 or 6 months or maybe even only 1 month before another rally comes ahead and drives it up to say, 50k. Then it corrects again and this process continues until one day we wake up and find btc's equilibrium price to be 30k. But there would be some glorious Highs and painful Lows before that time.

I think many investors act this way: sell when the market is going up, buy when the prices are low enough and HODL when the market is flat. It seems to be a relatively easy and reliable strategy.

The majority and the truth adhere to this strategy, since it is the simplest and most effective. In this strategy, the main thing is to be able to sell and buy in time.

Exactly, its simplicity is what I admire the most. Yet it is quite sophisticated once you can hold your horses in the face of uncertainty, which the crypto space is known for. Like DaVinci said, Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.

Yes, I have the same idea as you. I think this market will definitely pick up again, so I still hold my coins. Although I have lost a lot of money at the moment, I still won’t be moved to panic. I believe that as long as I keep enough Patience, in the end I can make huge profits from this market.

precisely when all the coins in the market are crashing, I have not dared to decide to buy. my strategy is, waiting for a few coins to show an increase, then I buy to hold it. because that will give way that coins will rise higher. but if it still stays and has not shown an increase at all, it's better not to buy.

How do you spot an ATH is the point?
Will it be the last peak or will it go up more and you miss a chance to get rich. Sometimes you need to have both strategies for long term and short term. So you wont miss a great train of becoming rich.

A pretty good idea, but this requires a strong instinct to take a stand. The argument must be strong and more restrained for the coin situation to come down and must be calm to get better development.

just to be honest, I don't have any strategy that uaed in holding or seing the coins. I just need an riht timing. yeah. example ia when the market is on color red, it is obvious that we need to hold only. it is a common sense if we sell it in the low price. so we need only to hold and we have to set a price target to get what price we want to achieve.

Buy or hold investors still need to take price fluctuations into account, and they must pay attention ongoing performance. Naturally, the price at which you invest affects the potential profits you'll make from its sale. So it makes sense to buy a price you believe is reasonable. While you hold it's also important to watch for signs that your investment isn't going the direction you planned.

Awesome strategy, though it has its cons, employ this also but always have a stop loss target in case it goes otherwise

My strategy for holding is to just keep it away from my hot funds and that is by having a hardware wallet or a cold storage which is very effective for me because i don't feel any needs of pulling out my fund since it is separated from the hot funds and i keep it on a safe place outside my room so i will feel lazy if i am going to use my hardware wallet.

I have stocks and bonds
my strategy goes the same way.
buy when the price is low-when people is dumping, its risky but select a few that has potential or simply dirt cheap
sell when the price is higher when you bought around 10% is enough.
the idea is to circulate, buy and sell as much as possible.
That's a lot of work but it lowers the risks of holding when the market is unpredictable.

When we make huge profit in crypto like 10 times profit, we should be withdraw half of the profit in to fiat. Lock profit in to fiat is should be and we also should have target profit . Avoid greedy and not patient because this emotional only bring us to big loss. Make better portfolio of investment and fiat should be more than 50% and never put all money in to crypto.

My strategy is quite simple. I buy in the coisn is low and sell them in a reasonable high price. And the key for my way is do not be too greedy.

To me, what I do most time is selling once the coin hit a big exchange... Because, the more you hold the more the possibility to to lose and the more the possibility to gain... So if you can't risk it or in need of quick money... U can just sell it off.

This works for bounty hunters and airdrops that eventually make it to exchanges. The main focus here is on coins you actually bought, usually coins that have real use and are more established. Not just shitcoins

then hold it again.

all strategies are very important as our attention to investment. not just aiming at one. because we have to prepare various plans

It's too hard to predict good time to sell or buy :). I think you should sell when you already got profit from your holding :). If you still wanna get more then you'll lose everything easily :). Market dump and pump very quickly those recent days so don't try to do anything too risky.
You are not alone, I'm also in having same thinking pattern. selling time is when you think now the profit is enough for me :)
For example, if you brought some WABI from ICO and still holding for more profits or you brought some recent ICO or bought from an exchange (OLT, Autonomy  etc) and those are still dumping hard  :(

I totally agree with you mate. Simple strategy of buy coins at low price and sell coins at high price. But we can't predict totally which coins are very promising and that can assure you that it will pump in the future. Investment in cryptocurrency is very risky. Sometimes you can be panic of what had happened in the crypto market with your coin that's why sometimes you will do panic selling.

Of course, the strategy depends on market behaviour. Look for the trend line (and other markers like bollinger bands) and draw conclusions.
If you see that value of crypto goes down about 5%, exit from this market.

I agree that it is very difficult to choose the time for a successful purchase or sale of coins.  You also need to deal with the syndrome of lost profit.  I have many examples when I sold or bought at the wrong time.  But I try not to think about it.  At the moment my strategy is hold.

On the other hand, the simplest way I usually do that is to invest at a time when the exchange rate is at the bottom and sell when the exchange rate rises. If after the investment, the exchange rate will suddenly fall and will wait for the exchange rate to recover again. The most important thing is that you should calm down and continue to hold cryptos instead of selling when the exchange rate decreases.

I really like it when the market is energizing, in the sense that there is a fairly fast price change. I often use several indicators such as MA cross and BB to analyze price movements. The difference in price changes that continue to occur can be used as a profit opportunity. I also often observe coinmarketcap as a volume movement comparison.

How will you know it is the ATH?
Have you tried selling at that point? I guess it will just be a number of people who have done that. But again afterwards there is no more ATH. It sinks in price and no one knows where iit will go.

Just like every other crypto and that is why we buyers are all at risk here. We didnt come here cause it is safe but hence, we did it for the sake of supporting a project or making money in a better way. Faster than what banks could offer.

My crypto strategie is basically alts that I plan to keep for a long time 3+ years as long as fundamentals keep improving and future prospects remain intact. Examples include industry leaders like Ripple, Ether, Venq, ADA, etc. alts like these usually sell at fair value and the opportunities are few and far between to get them a discount; so having cash is a must.

I put a lot of trust in the development of this market so I usually buy more coins at low prices in times when the market is down today. I am a holder so the times when the coins are falling is the opportunity to buy more coins I have analyzed before.

Its harder to know a dip, than an ATH. Anytime a coin reaches a new high is an ATH. It may go higher or it may turn around and drop. But the fact remains that you can choose to sell at that new high and make whatever profit you have gathered or you can choose to wait for it to go higher and make more profit or make lose when it drops below that ATH, and sometimes even falls below how much you bought it for

Nice one OP. Everyone loves to sell at high price after buying at a price. As for me, I don't like to buy any coin that has pumped because the probability of correction is high which will send shivers down my bones and can pressure me to sell at loss to prevent further loss. The market presently looks as if it will take very long for us to see a new ATH. Let's keep on hoping.

Everyone had their own strategy on how they can earn in the market. Usually I am into buying when dump happening and sell when pump or at ath price. Take profit when you think price is profitable already.
Though it's really difficult nowadays to practice this strategy but if you really familiar and you are good in analyzing and picking the right coin, then you are going to benefits even in a small gains with the market right now, just invest time monitoring the market buy low and sell high after seeing opportunities.

Selling take place when I am sure that the future increasing is impossible for the cryptocurrency and there aren't any other variants. Holding is more relialbe way here because thanks to this way I can be sure in my profit and minimized losses that could make my indexes worse just a little bit.

The strategy is very simple. Buy now top altcoins and forget for 3-4 months about the coinmarket and other crypto-currency sites. Do not think about prices and do not update every 2 minutes of the exchange. Just HOLD.

It's too difficult to foresee great time to offer or purchase. I figure you should offer when you as of now got benefit from your holding. In the event that you still wanna get all the more then you'll lose everything effectively. Market dump and pump rapidly those ongoing days so don't endeavor to do anything excessively hazardous.

My own strategy for holding or selling a coin is to buy when it is very low like in this present condition of bear and then wait for the system to get corrected. I believe after the correction, though price may still fall but it will rise and when the price is high enough for me to make reasonable profit on my investment, I sell it. I like to buy low and sell high because it is very profitable.

Mine is similar to yours, though we all want to buy the bottom there is always the fact that we cannot predict for sure how the market is going to turn out so that way it is best to just hold through it all. When I buy the coins,I buy them with the mindset that I am not selling off any of it until I see another all time high of the coins, that is only when I sell.

Basically, buy low, hodl, sell high. This is a basic strategy of all traders in the markets.

Personally choose a good coins on the top listed coins, then buy while the price are in reds/dips, mostly in bear season. Then hodl it for a while, until you see that the coin price rise from the price you bought, then sell.

Depending on market movements, when it's high we can make a short term called buy and sell. It only takes one day, there is also a long term trading. This is the case when the market price has fallen. Buy at a low cost of coins and hold it until it is increased again from the sale. it's okay if you want to do what I said strategy.

In my own view, each investor strategy differs. I personally come to conclusion about my selling strategy based on how potential I feel the coin/token would be. Atimes I sell all if I sense the project doesn't worth it anymore, atimes I sell half of my bag for the coin in question and atimes I keep all or even bag more.

Hodling is not a strategy and with what's obtainable now in the cryptomarket, looks more like HODL saw its days with early adopters, because its magic is hardly felt anymore instead, hearts are being broken. ETH for instance is presently going for below $200 and that simply a TKO for tokens, because the price of most are based on that of Ether.

I suppose the dictate of the time is to shift to scalping the market. Play safe by staying with formidable coins, buying dips and not waiting until market made another ATH to sell.

Waiting, you will also make a small investment in the particularly optimistic ioc project.

The best sales strategy for me is to buy when red is around 50% more.
Then sell it when it starts green at 10%, I'm not too greedy for profit because it is my value that I get.

seeing the deteriorating market conditions at this time, there is no other way to avoid getting a huge loss other than holding coins that are still held in the longer term, even though they have to wait longer at least not to get very large losses due to this decline.

The only option for now is to hodl, because if you sell your alts, you will fix you loses. Just wait for a better times and do not look at coinmarketcap every day. It is hard  :(

If you want a decent growth with a nice profit of x10 or more you should just hold.
If you are not strong enough for the dump or taking the time to wait then go trading of pump and dump.
we should know our selves first before doing anything.

To hold if you think the token will go wild and deserve to be held.
Go sell if you think that the token has no demand but buy at the end if you also think that the project is really good.
dump it forever if you know that this will not be going anywhere before being alone holding for it.

I think everyone will say the same thing, namely holding it when the market falls and sells it when the market goes up. But, I think when the falling market is a good time to buy a few coins that have the opportunity to increase and when the market falls I will hold the coin that I have and observe the market development from day to day, if some coins do not allow me to recover will sell it to cut bigger losses.

I think most of us has something in common when it comes to strategy. My strategy is very simple I buy more coins when the price is very cheap, and I sell it when the price is high. I hold it when the price isnt that good. And I make wise decision for my money.

Selling won't get any benefits right now. You can for sure, sell everything, cut your loses and wait for better times. But you won't be able to buy the same amount of coins for that price in the nearest future. Just hodl and believe  ;D

I guess holding is not a strategy but a sort of natural act ? because if you buy a coin you are not going to sell it right away and you will hold it for a span of time. Long term holding for me is very beneficial because the market is bouncing or fluctuating so there are times when the price is low and high, time for perfect  selling is when the price is increasing.

We all do the same. But the time to act might be doesnt the same as we might have to in when to buy and to sell. If you wait to low it might not go that low as you predict. When you want to sell when will the right time to sell so you will not lose. I just sell it at the time im profit so i never regret to lose when it dump again. People always greed when to come with pump high.the wait till it drop back. So to me it was just a waste. Just sell it when it pump up.

HODLing definitely a good idea right now. A lot of serious companies have started looking at blockchain with regards to supply chain, manufactaring, business intelligence and so on. Just spread out and also put a some money on very low market caps like bigbom, bridge, lendingblock, hacken, signals.. and so on

I think that it is impossible to determine the maximum and minimum price levels. If you are an investor, the best solution is to be patient and wait for your time. When an investor starts to play a trade, it often ends in sadness. I think, to begin with, everyone must understand for himself who he is.

This is a solid answer, yes it depends on the situation of a person if someone is desperately looking for money they sell it. Similarly if they don't want to sell kindly plan for long-term and you can expect a good return.

Everyone wants to know when to buy when to sell. These two things have been plaguing everyone, so there are a variety of ways to create them. These methods are now collectively referred to as trading techniques. So if you really want to learn to trade, then you have to learn these skills.

I usually prefer to do hodl because I'm an investor who likes to make long-term investments. Of course I also do buy-sell transactions from time to time, but I want to mention that many of the trades are long-term and hence the hold is a must. It is also a fact that short-term hodl transactions, whether short-, medium- or long-term, are profitable.

My strategy is simple. I prefer to keep currencies from the top 30 cap. It gives me minimal confidence in a fast-growing market. I also save coins of top projects (I give them the opportunity to grow). I have a limit on the amount that I spend on the purchase of additional coins. I also play 15% of my budget for fast purchases. Let's say on the purchase of coins for (1-2 months)

That is my strategy at the moment.

Holding is a good strategy but not only it was a good decision. So we should sell at right time and buying the right platform is the good way to maintain our trading. But many peoples are said holding for long term is a promising earning. I think they are missing the right opportunity in Crypto investment.

At present the market has begun to appear to have developed even though only a little but this could be the beginning of a market revival so investing now is the right choice. but you have to be selective in choosing coins because if the coin you buy determines the size of the profit to be obtained.

See it all depends on the project itself, that is, there are different types of projects, namely, with a good prospect, but this moment the price of the token is not yet relevant and you need to wait some time, and there are tokens of projects that need to be sold immediately after receiving them as the project does not plan to further develop

Yes. You are right about that. I admit that I used that strategy as well, however even though I have other strategy to do, I do not want it to share because its my key to success and every success there is a hidden hardwork and strategy of the people. As I read in some point of view of other bitcoinist I realized that ebery people has their strategy if they were in the field of work to finish it immediately.

Just a simple strategy. I will keep holding my coins if the price of my coins goes down and sell my coins when its price goes high.
In lower price i will buying too. I buy that i think this coins will give me more profit and then hold them.

The best set of people that gain and find it hard to loose are those who are not greedy to look around for huge pump before selling
My strategy is quite simple. I buy my coins or tokens in bulk, then look for 5 - 10% pump and sell. After which i move on to another coin that  has dump.

For instance, if i should buy a token at $1000, my target profit will be between 50-100$, which i am okay with.

My strategy for holding the coin is if I have 1000 for the amount and the price is down for 10%, I will buy another amount without selling the amount before. And if the price can increase for 25%, I will sell 500 and hold the other 500 because I am sure that after the price increase, it will make the correction and sometime the correction will be deeper than before. So I can have a chance to buy a cheaper than before and then I will hold it again until it increases higher.

I just make a simple trade.. I buy tokens that still new on exchanges and wait for it to pump so I can dump it pretty fast before it collapse. We all know the fast profit is to buy dump and pump tokens at forkdelta or any exchanges that list new tokens.

If you are investing in coins for the long-term, the safest strategy is holding, but day-trading, or even casual trading can be profitable in the short term, allowing you to increase your stack relatively faster. Whether you’re a beginner to crypto trading or just trying to take a chance in this exciting new market.

Its quite good if that system works for you. For me I just keep holding and ive learnt some tough lessons for holding blindly. Watched my coins go from ath to zero and I keep holding. I don't really know what I'm waiting for. I believe my holding and selling decisions would get better with experience.

My strategy is similar to what most do, it is buying and storing coins for several years, until the market starts to grow, I cannot trade on the stock exchange and the more I make deals, the more often I lose my money.

It's too hard to predict good time to sell or buy :). I think you should sell when you already got profit from your holding :). If you still wanna get more then you'll lose everything easily :). Market dump and pump very quickly those recent days so don't try to do anything too risky.
For me, buying when the market is red especially now and sell when market begins to recover or reaches ATH is the best if you can't wait. I always go with long term strategies, that is why projects like mfchain is a great choice because of the team and model of the project. I will always go with coins that have some intrinsic value or growth potential.

yeah it's the same as I thought, rather than investing in an ICO project that isn't necessarily going to be a sales success, so it's better indeed to buy coins that are definitely in the market we just have to choose a coin that has a good future and hold it to get more profit easy.

I better hold it back when the price soars higher than it can make a big profit for us. of course this will be a more useful thing for us all.

Not for all. If you see your coin goes down you could buy more for a lower price than you had bought before and sell it at a lower price than you planned to sell. Thus you will still earn the same amount, but you won't have to wait long and your assets will get back to work.

So the experienced people already do everything, with each rise, they sell at a good profit, and then there will still be a correction. But by doing so, merging the course itself down and down. And there's nothing you can do.

For me the strategy is making sure that I buy the coins when they are very low in the market, it is always best to buy the coins when they are red, that means we will be getting the most amount of money out of the coins. After that I make sure that I put them in a safe wallet and then keep them in wait for the long term. It also helps to put price targets on them so you are not tempted to sell prematurely

depending on the situation, if I need money then I will sell at any price but when I still have money I will hold the coin until I can profit because it is very detrimental to have to sell coins at cheap prices because when we take it off we lose the opportunity to take big profits when there is a pump

I believe that everyone does this by buying coins in a low market, as it is now, and then they are held and sold as the coin grows. You need to find out what coin you need to buy and hold, and for that it is enough to have money.

Watching the cryptocurrency market for almost two years, I realized that it is impossible to constantly adhere to any one strategy. The market changes periodically and you need to constantly adjust to these changes to stay in a winning position.

And sometimes it will but rest assured it must drop before going up again to surpass the ATH and go to a new ATH. I just feel buy simply selling at an ATH, it takes away all the guessing and whatnot

There is realy no way to know for sure, if there was I would be a millionair by now. But a good indicator to get out from a pos coin can be if you see a large number of MN's going down at the same time. Normally indicates a whale pulling out or a pump groupe.

When we make immense benefit in crypto like 10 times benefit, we ought to be pull back portion of the benefit in to fiat. Secure benefit to fiat is ought to be and we likewise ought to have target benefit . Maintain a strategic distance from insatiable and not persistent in light of the fact that this enthusiastic just bring us to huge misfortune. Improve arrangement of speculation and fiat ought to be over half and never put all cash in to crypto.

it all depends on what i have invested in. there are some tokens that i do not move at all, that i will put at the market only with hopeful big profits. for the other tokens i usually follow your strategy, since the idea with those is just to take profits and buy and sell to have more. a lot in here probably follow statistics, matemathical strategies and so on, but with this simply strategy i can get some little profits

The fact is that everything depends on the project, if you are an investor, first of all, you study the project, and then decide to get a good pre-sale bonus and immediately sell it on the stock exchange, or if you see that the project is really promising, you should to humble tokens as good growth is possible

But many peoples are said holding for long term is a promising earning. I think they are missing the right opportunity in Crypto investment.

My strategy is to simply hold the coins for the long term, there is no way to tell what will happen to the price of the coin and for me the best way to make the most money would be to hold the coins and wait for the price of the coins to get back to better points. I only sell when my coins have hit the target prices which I have placed on them.

I just usually hold, someimes it brings good result, sometmes don't.
But i still believe in this statagy, because trading is strass, and I do not like it.

but in my opinion for now you have to throw away your dislike with trading, because the situation that occurs in the market now, it will give you a big profit if you trading, because the market price is not stable, which makes the market price always increase and decrease quickly and if you take advantage of the current market situation by doing trading, I am sure you will definitely get a bigger profit than you hold your coin.

Buy cheap, hold, sell some on high, if the coin rises keep on selling and if decreases keep buying.
This would be the perfect strategy but as you need to control your short instincts and plan for long than daily change in prices.
If you diversify your money among many coins, you can even profit in a falling market.

That is the great strategy that needs to implies so that you will be able to gain for more profit. When you are going to buy cheap price and sell it in the high or trade it then you will gain more. So that you will be guided watch for more updates in the market and then when you see that the price is down well hold it wait for the right time.

Holding will be the best option for you cause if you sell it,  you'll end up into losing. Simply holding doesn't work for you if you don't trust crypto right now. I know how you feel but you still need to be strong and manage your emotions so you won't be doubtful with your decisions.

What is your system?
the strategy that I will go for the road is that I will sell all the coins that I have with when the price goes up I will sell and at a low price I will buy and save it first

I would also do so, like right now. Price is very down and big crypto currencies are very cheap to buy and get to your wallet. I'm sure next year will be better and we can all sell on a profit. Sure, it can take very long to reach significant better prices.

nice and good strategy for long term hold,, because cryptocurrencies is good for long term investments,,
for example bitcoin, ethereum and others great cryptocurrencies,, they came in crypto industries with low price but in few years later the price was growing hardly,,
i know at this moment the market is red,, but doesn't meaning if this is the end
just hold and buy more what you believe it  ;)

The strategy that I am currently applying is to buy the best coins and then hold them. I don't know how long I will hold them. for some coins, I will hold it in the long run. Every coin has a different level of ability. For those whose growth is slow, but as long as they have a consistent development, in the future they will be able to become coins of high value. At that time, the profits from sales will be even greater.

The principle that not everyone obey is to cut holes, when the alt increase, then think it increases again, when it drops then think it will increase again. Actually not many people accept cut loss, which is wrong in this market. My principle is to be willing to cut losses when the market is bad.

to hold I think it only requires patience and always monitors the movement of coins, but if for sales it is more difficult that we must have an accurate analysis and what can be obtained depends on our knowledge so my strategy is to trade while learning about coins, markets and crypto.

Your strategy looks good, but how do you know when is the ATH?

My strategy is much simple. I will have a price goal whenever I buy a coin and will not sell till I reach the goal. This is to prevent emotions take over my investing plan.

Since I know that market is sleeping my strategy to make profit is to hold , and buy some tokens that been affected by the low trend in market. This will gaurantee a good profit when the market come back .

I have a lot of altcoins and now it's not the wise to sell so ill hold it until market convinces me or satisfy me. Also, I increase my holding in token as we can see that the market is dumping if eth goes below $100 it won't take long it will back soon as the market shows good sign in all token.

Mine is different than you and it's very simple, I don't have time to monitor crypto market, so I can't become a day trader, then I only buy at lower price and then hold it, even price increase 50%, I won't sell it and buy again when price dip again, my target is profit at least x5 (buy in price), if not I just holding and wait again

if you see any opportunities like this month which every altcoins drop their prices, almost 10-15%, its better to buy at dip, and hold it until their price will go back to normal state. it will take long enough but it will be worth it.

For me, when the market is at the lower level then i hold my coins, until the market will bounce back and my desired price will not come, till then i hold them and as soon as the market reaches the price on my required price, then without thinking else, i sell it.

The strategy now is to hold coins and you don't panic, be patient. Market falls and Bitcoin, Ethereum is a very low selling value. And it's better to keep using your coins. If you still have capital, you can buy Bitcoin and Ethereum for long-term trading.

Some say that Bitcoin will still fall to around $3000 so if you can't take that lose anymore I think you should have to let go your coins/tokens and sell it already before that will happen.

This a very good strategy to hold your coin for the porpuse of gaining more profit so in this time no other startegy is good for us (or selling any coin) because the crypto market is down and we can not gain profit very easily, so all investors need to hold their coin and sell in coming future with high price.

Not for all. If you see your coin goes down you could buy more for a lower price than you had bought before and sell it at a lower price than you planned to sell. Thus you will still earn the same amount, but you won't have to wait long and your assets will get back to work.

Don't be greedy with big profits in a short time, that's the strategy I did, where I bought and sold it if there was profit even though it was small, then returned it and resold it when there was profit, I did it regularly every day, and I always profit in small quantities, but imagine if it accumulates over a long period of time, it will be able to generate big profits in the end, the important thing is always patient and never panic about the market situation.

everyone can only perform prediction, and it does not know the truth. We can't know for sure when bitcoin up or down, the most we can see is seeing movement in the market. but it requires learning more, I myself have not been able to do an analysis of the trade well.

I always apply both strategies, but not always at the same time. With the current market conditions, I am more inclined to hold a collection of coins, and also hunt again with coins or tokens. Both through coin purchases and also participation in bounty projects. I also applied sales, but that was when the price improved or when I needed money.

I think that many successful investors adhere to a single strategy - you need to buy good coins at a low price, and selling them over time is more expensive. Therefore, in any case, now the decision to sell their reliable cryptocurrency will be unprofitable, you just need to be patient.

that becomes difficult is not everyone understand and can tell whether it has reached the point of ATH or ATL. This is quite difficult to predict and many of which are quite disappointed with it. Indeed deepening will at least have crypto and is also a good strategy will be of help. There are however other nontechnical factors that create conditions in the crypto becomes difficult to guess.

Invest for the long term and do day trading. I do both because I also see market conditions. If the market weakens, I prefer to hold coins. But I also trade every day for coins that have very fast changes, so I can sell and buy coins quickly to make a profit.

I just entered my wallet, and there I saw the next minus 10% of the balance. How can you respond to this, and what could be the strategy? I bought coins at a price of 3 times more than now, and what should I do? I'll just hold

It is sometimes hard to contain but in some investments after a kind of loss over time, when compared with competing project it is advisable to dispose. Some disposal can be gradual and some at once depending on the knowledge on the team's progress.
in regulating strategies required patience to deal with it. so think twice than usual will be very profitable. so in this period I used the strategy to hold. because the ability to continue to grow in the presence of a supported would greatly hold with the main strategy used.

I would always sell at an ATH.

Sure, I believe that should be the case of all traders and regardless of where you buy in but even when we know there would be another ATH this is usually not that easy to point out however, for me I will usually rather have a set percentage gain I want to make in all my trade and I also usually try to buy in at a comfortable low position where I believe that market is about to make a change but this is also not that easy to point.

Selling your investments on lower price than buying cost won't give you positive returns. Obviously, holding would be a better option to balance the earnings. In case you're financially struggling only then selling would be considerable.

Buy during the fall is the correct method that a typical trader does.

But this is also being forgotten by most of the newbie traders. They are depending on their emotion and when they see the market goes down, they are thinking of it going to nothing from something. HODLING and selling is a perfect tandem during bear seasons.

What is your system?

in my opinion I think it will be good for you to HODL when the market is bleeding and if you have liquidity you can invest at that time and sell some when the boom up.

According to me trading can provide us with huge profits but only if you have enough experience and skills for it.Trading is not simple as investing and holding. You have to keep an eye on the rise and fall of the price and have to sell your coins on regular basis. So if you think that you are skilled enough for trading then you should definitely go for it.It will provide you with a lot of profits.
Sometimes I use Trade Santa bot to trade without loses (I set up it correctly) and also I trade manually in parallel.

For me there is really no fixed strategy when it comes to holding and selling invested or bought tokens or coins. All I do is simply make sure that I buy it very low, then wait until the price of that coin will get high and I will sell them if I think it is acceptable for me. Plain and simple really.

It's likely there are as many systems out there as there are persons.  The problem with the discussion at hand is the crypto-universe is still very small.  Extremely small, with very little liquidity.  They just don't work like the much larger fiat markets right now.

Yes there are projects out there attempting to stabilize the volatility in crypto, but it's just plain too early in the paradigm shift from fiat to crypto.

Trying to make money in the current set up is a fool's game, and actually it is a zero sum game presently.  The gap between today's crypto scene and one in the future where everyday people begin waking up to crypto needs to be bridged so even a cave man could do it.  Once that happens, and Joe six pack starts buying up cryptos, we are off to the races.

At that point, all your liquidity dreams will come true and money will cease to be an issue for many of us early adopters, so we can concentrate on being human instead of slaves.

There is nothing to do unless you will wait for the price to be rise up again. You can buy more tokens to hold so that if the price starts to rise up youre the one who will earn and its a good strategy in cryptocurrency. In fact this is the only good thing to do than to sell your token. Its actually a big loss to you if you do that.
