What is our assurance that Bitcoin will stay for long or forever?  There is a prophesy I have heard that Bitcoin will fall.
Can you share some strong reasons of why Bitcoin will last?

No one can with 100% certainty that bitcoin will not disappear in 100 years.

Technologies are developing very rapidly and perhaps we will see a more technologically advanced payment system in the future

The Free and Open Internet is your assurance. As long as it will remain free and open to everyone. Bitcoin will last. Nothing can top this. The moment the internet will go down bitcoin will go down with it. Also, what are these prophesies? mind mentioning them or linking them here?

Bitcoin won't last forever there's no such thing as forever. Every crypto will have it's end but we don't know when. One assurance is Bitcoin's security. Our technology is not powerful enough to brute force in to someone's key and steal their coins. Attacking the Bitcoin network would be costly for anyone just to have the power of double spending in a day or two.

Yes.Nobody here can really make a right prediction,all we have here are just pure guesses.But as long as people keep on supporting bitcoin and its blockchain technology,increasing its users and investors every year,now i am sure that it is bound to lasts longer but i think not forever.

it is true that bitcoin will fall but it is temporary and only the price and will not make bitcoin die, I believe that bitcoin will forever live because of the advancing technological sophistication and increasingly extensive internet network.

there is no "assurance" and what you see is what you get with bitcoin. if you want it then you get in and if you don't, well you stay out!

this has always been part of the risk involving bitcoin. it is a new form of money in a new way, aka a decentralized way. the technology is new also and we are still improving it. the adoption is growing, millions of dollars are being transferred through bitcoin every day and lots of merchants are accepting it as a payment but it still is a toddler taking its first steps.

I wouldn't be so sure about this. Some form of decentralized currency will likely always exist now and cryptocurrencies are surely here to stay and may even be adopted by the mainstream eventually, but that doesn't mean it has to be bitcoin. Don't get me wrong, I hope bitcoin remains the king or crypto forever, but there's always the threat it could be superseded by something better or more efficient. I think governments will even start issuing their own fiat-based currencies eventually that may replace paper money but they obviously won't be decentralized and that's why some sort of decentralized currency will still exist to operate outside the mainstream and free from government controls, but it certainly isn't guaranteed to be bitcoin. For that reason I wouldn't treat bitcoin as a sure thing and people should be aware of the risks that bitcoin is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it and it's value could fall in favor of another currency if it offers far superior benefits.

There won't be ever any assurance. This is trading with decentralised currency. We still don't even know who created Bitcoin. You need to believe in blockchain, that it can change the world as we know it. Don't buy Bitcoin if you don't believe in it.

No one does,but if we will never leave bitcoin behind and will continuously support this currency i am sure end won't come in this community..blockchain is one great technology that world has trying to adapt in their own technology like banks and businesses so why need to assume the ending when we may create long lasting?

No one knows how long Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency will stay. Perhaps it will become obsolete in less than five years, but maybe it will lasts for more than a decade. No one can tell. But for now, at the very least, looks like the crypto world is strong enough to survive for the next coming years.

I think to you to this question no one can give an exact answer, because we can not say what will happen tomorrow with Biktoin. And especially speaking about his future. But personally, I myself believe that Bitcoin will exist for a very long time and its price should be several times higher than now.

I think there is no 100% guarantee but to my mind it is obvious that it won't just disappear. to my mind, our world is becoming more and more digital, we need to have digital currency as well

You can put the full article of that prophesy mentioned above, it doent matter when bitcoin will last, because the only questions that fix in this title is are you still alive when bitcoin run for long term and use by the next generation?  Bitcoin will last as long as there are community or group continuing support or use this bitcoin. And no one can tell what actually will happen next. No one can predict that. The real thing is bitcoin exist and still using of all cryptoner.

I don't think anyone can know for certain about how bitcoin will be in the future because we all don't know what will happen next day. But I'm sure bitcoin will last a long time and will grow again so that people will know and use bitcoin more. I am also sure the value of bitcoin will be higher than now so that more people will feel the benefits.

I don't have any reason why the bitcoin will stay forever but I have some reason that it won't fall because there were many companies and exchanges having this as their business so they will keep the demand in place by doing something.And also the whales will never let it to go demand less.The price of bitcoin rose from nothing to $6000+ at the current value so people have trust on it and it almost stayed for a decade now.

The assurance is neat and simple. So long as humans exist, so long as bitcoin has a monetary value, so long as people keep mining/buying bitcoin,and so long as people use it, bitcoin won't fall. Basically only if humans all turn their backs on bitcoin, it will fall.

We are not certain if it will last or disappear in the next how many years God knows when but while we still have it lets utilize it in every good possible way we can and keep our fingers crossed and see what the future holds for us and bitcoin 

Nobody here can really make a right prediction about it. I don't see anything that seems to let crypto fails in the near future. I believe that bitcoin will forever live. I think it also depends on the users. So I believe the price of bitcoin will increase and It will stay for forever.

No one can guarantee certain thing will happen in the future ,otherwise he is a scammer ! bitcoin itself may not last for long or at least loses its market share.However,the technology behind it (blockchain) will last for long time as it's already been adopted by big companies.

no one can guarantee you 100% but if you don't have confidence in bitcoin it's better to sell your assets now, because I believe other bitcoin and altcoin will be digital currencies that have minimal production costs

Bitcoin won't keep going forever there's no such thing as until the end of time. Each crypto will have it's end yet we don't know when. One affirmation is Bitcoin's security. Our innovation isn't sufficiently great to animal power in to somebody's critical and take their coins. No one can give the grantee that whether it will stay long or not because it is not a material object but if we look at the market and the popularity then we can easily predict that it will stay long.

In my opinion bitcoin is the future and the educated community knows the importance of this currency so they strongly believe that crypto is the growing and it is the major factor in the economies now i adds more to the economy and i invested in this because i know that the value of this is not measured.

It's hard to tell what will ensure Bitcoin's forever existence. Do you know Yahoo? During the 90s and early 2000s, Yahoo was a veritable web titan - a leader in email, online news and search. But now, almost no one uses Yahoo. Its failure is because it has failed to understand users' behavioral changing. I have heard hundreds of prophesies from reknowned prophets that did not happen and some did even came from the Great Nostradamus that juse became a silly matter. I think Bitcoin is still worth keeping for a long time, not trading immediately. Although Bitcoin has fallen in the near future, its price is actually very stable!

Well blockchain is assurance for a long stay but not forever. It is not only Bitcoin that is backed by the blockchain technology but all the crypto coins are backed by this technology. There are events like political decisions that are completely unpredictable. If a major country decides to ban exchanges or there are an european agreement on doing this, the price would crash like if the world was ending. Against this, we can't do much.
Bitcoin has already almost a decade, I doubt it will become mainstream. And the limitation on transactions is another issue affecting it.
But if there are no political problems, it might survive as a marginal asset with high value because of its scarcity.

It's funny people want an asset that goes up rapidly in value and that has a great technology behind it, but they also want it to be safe and to not lose money if they invest in it, and that's impossible, even if I think that bitcoin is going to be around for a very long time there is not assurance that is going to happen, but I'm fine with it and I'm willing to take the risk it comes with investing in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

That is the problem. A lot of people see it as a way to make more money but they are forgetting the other solution it brings to the world at large, aside just getting rich overnight. But why bother to think of not having bitcoin in the market anymore? It's better to enjoy this moment while bitcoin is still around and dominating the cryptoworld. No one can't give you assurance like this. But Bitcoin will last as long as users will continue to support it and as long there will be interest for it.
I think Bitcoin has all prevonditions to last for a very long time, it's just has to integrate into economy and society more but again, that is depending on users.

That's right. Crypto acceptance by the community is good and it is widely spread among others. Besides, there is no reason why crypto will stop from its existence, in fact it is started to used in some countries  buying stuff and services as well. 

i think my only assurance that bitcoin can last a lifetime is its existence . bitcoin did exist a long time from circa 2008 - 2009  , that is about 8 to 9 years which is a bit long enough to say that bitcoin wont failed us . bitcoin is a crypto a currency , and a currency is verry useful because we need it to pay or purchase things , so if we dont have a currency , how can people live ? that is also another assurance that bitcoin will last forever due to its purposes.

We are the assurances of Bitcoin and its future is all of us as long as we are demanding for it then nothing bad will happen to Bitcoin. Well everything is finite one way or another. Fiat may be replaced by crypto the same way bitcoin may be replaced by other technology. You can't talk about assurances when you're in this market.

The logical answer to this is "stay for long" is absolutely possible, "forever" might not be because we have no idea if after a thousand year what happens.
