Thanks Graet,

Could you please let us know what is the difficulty of the target that the pool provides as work? I understand that you need to put a low target for enough shares to be generated during a block, just wondering what the implied difficulty is.

In my eyes, you're ahead of the pack of pool operators  :). While everybody was debating about merged mining with namecoins (which is old news now), you're taking a bet in a completely uncharted direction. Congrats for this !

hi 3phase,
My understanding is most LTC pools are running at 20, we are set at 16.

We will propably be implementing NMC BTC merged mining soon, but it is a different kettle of fish to setting up up a seperate pool like the LTC pool.

I have been watching the CPU mining chains and I do think there is a place for a "silver to Bitcoin's gold", I like that there is no pre-mine, is an open source project and everyone with a cpu can participate. Good for miners and pool ops alike :)

I have had a coder asking to help for a while and as a test I asked him to set us up a LTC pool as a learning excercise and to show us his skills.
ryannathans with some help and supervision from Wayno and Ycros has done us proud :)
Great work ryan :D
Thanks for the kind words :)

Hi Great,

Been mining on your pool for ~ 24 hours now. Some observations: your stats seem to update really slow and the payout seems a lot lower than Altchains. Is this just bad luck or is something wrong ? (I threw ~ 10 khash/s at Altchains and have been receiving higher payout than with the 20 khash/s I am throwing at your pool ?)

Also; you should do a search and replace for Mhash/s --> khash/s

Update;

Seems to be completely down now !
Fatal error: Uncaught BitcoinClientException:
  • : Connect error: Connection refused (111) thrown in on line 0
Maybe a problem with LTC ? (Altchains isn't working either)

Update: and it's back already. (unlike Altchains)

Hi,
We are going overr the numbers again to be sure.

There is a problem with litecoid, it is crashing regularly. we are logging to try identify the issue and sort out some auto restart (bitcoind has a similar issue)

Great work Graet :)

In the mean time I will be pointing most of my workers @ Altchains. It outpays ozco.in even when I throw only 5 khash/s at it vs 25 khash/s to ozco.in...

Update:
I now am sure that something is off at either ozcoin or Altchains. In just 1,5 hours I got the following @ Altchains:
LTC Balance: 3.64356618 LTC

Pending Confirms: 21.83445778

That's more than I got @ ozcoins in ~ 24 hours !? (roughly the same hashspeeds)

what's your hashrate, mining client and launch parameters for ozco?
also, as yet ozco doesn't have an 'unconfirmed balance' display on the stats on the side. however, you can see your estimated rewards from recently solved (unconfirmed) blocks by going into the All Blocks Found page (https://lc.ozco.in/blocks.php).
i've had no problems getting 50ish LC in the last 24hrs on ozco (with 5KH/s).

I've got around 30khash/s in total, I pointed all of it (started with 6 khash/s and scaled upwards from there) to ozcoin using:
minerd-ssse3-core2.exe --algo scrypt --s 6 --threads 2 --url http://lc.ozco.in:9332 --userpass user:password
Alas I only got 23 LTC's. As you can see on the other pool (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=48192.0;all) I am getting that in 1,5 hours :P I'll stick with them for now...

The share difficulty seems to be really low. I'm getting accepted shares constantly (at ~3.50 kh/s)

Not like it would be a bad thing, I like watching a huge list of accepted shares scroll down.

Hi Graet, no problem :) For the time being I am mining at Alt Chain which returns between 0,5 to 1 LTC per minute I mine :)

A small request is I would like to see lifetime shares for each worker, as I mentioned in private before. Since there are no thorough CPU comparisons and not enough tests done, it is good to be able to compare performance with different switches in the miner, and to compare different CPUs.

But, no rush, it is not a big deal. Having a reliable top-tier pool for LTC is much more valuable.

Thanks for your continued work.

My minerd has exited twice because of the disconnections :(

Use parameter
Code:
-r -1

By default after 10 times minerd failed to connect to RPC server it will exit. -1 means never automatically exit.

Been having a few issues with the LTC pool over last 24 hours including a 14hour block
we are investigating atm
as a small thanks to the miners that have stuck with us we will be paying 55LTC/block for at least the next 100 blocks
there will also be a top up payment to miners on the 14 hour block - we will work out and announce that when we have found the issues - I dont believe at this difficulty it was just bad luck

sorry for any inconvenience more info as soon as I have it

hmmm looks like I found that super long block...

btw with 0.10 of the entire network block solving speed should be faster, say, one in ten blocks.

And please look at the times:

after that long block all blocks' solve time is weird... I suppose the scan time is changed from realtime to 10 min, and therefore some blocks were dropped because of it?

Title: Re: Ozcoin Pooled Mining Pty Ltd comes to Litecoin

sigh, i really didnt look, was up till after 1am my time just trying to get the ltc pool to be stable. which it has been for ~9hours (yay)
Yep at sometime during the day the cronjob that announces new blocks was set back to 10 mins
Also after the long long block the pool was up and down with me manually restarting till we got stuff sorted while a lot of the time we were showing 10% of the network we werent actually.
/me puts days plans on hold again and goes back to working out wtf is going on with ltc pool.

Title: Re: Ozcoin Pooled Mining Pty Ltd comes to Litecoin
Post by: Graet on November 01, 2011, 04:09:21 AM
ok
since longblock we have found over 50 ltc blocks but only displayed 37 (at time of posting) :(
until I can get one of the coders to look i cannot tell if we have share records.
somehow we will get this sorted and make sure miners are paid.

also
re long long block
we will make a pps style "top up" for miners on that round,

sorry I cant give more info atm - you know all I do now

as soon as i have more info i will post

I had to throw a :start / goto start in my miner batch file because my clients would crash out from time to time.

Every time they crash, I see the following error on your site when trying to check stats;

"Fatal error: Uncaught BitcoinClientException:

Hope this helps !

yep thanks

it certainly is frustrating me
at least we are now displaying all found blocks
2.30am - need sleep - will try to get the "un shown" blocks sorted tomorrow

Title: Re: Ozcoin Pooled Mining Pty Ltd Litecoin Promo 60LTC/block
Post by: Graet on November 02, 2011, 03:54:20 AM
OK
we are showing and paying all found blocks again as of block 1,773 <PHEW>
rebuilt litecoind with some help from other poolops (thanks guys) seem to be running stable atm. yay!

next challenge - to work out how many unpaid blocks there are and do a "top up" payment
the best way we can work out is to re run the payout scripts from the found blocks from block 1,699 (long long block) to block 1,773 using the the funds from undisplayed blocks. I will give figures when we have worked out numbers etc.
ballpark we are looking at ~ 1/3 of found blocks not being displayed :/

The good news for miners is we are paying 60LTC per block

Thanks to everyone that has stuck with us over the last few days :D

be good to entice some miners from "unknown" http://litecoin.kicks-ass.org/graphs/graphs.html (http://litecoin.kicks-ass.org/graphs/graphs.html) onto pools :)

some stats still need fixing after the front end update, more stats coming too :)

the "unknown" section of the network is growing, 20% bonus will continue for the time being :)

oh um
sorry you confused me
this is the Litecoin pools thread :)

eu.ozco.in is BTC mining
let me look :)

um actually

183543   2012-06-08 10:33:06   gonzo   4,651,203   61.32492370   0.00001318   0.49%   6

we had an 11Million share round that took many hours and was orphaned - I think this might explain it

183426 is the last block anyone has been paid for :)

I've also noticed significantly higher total payout compared to any other pool I've tried -- unhoppable pools - enough to make me wonder if Graet's paying us a secret bonus and somehow obscuring it. - And Ozco.in handles FPGAs flawlessly. I haven't done the calcs on it, though - just guesstimating. I guess I wasn't really expecting the Icarus boards to pay for themselves so quickly. *nudges up the donation %*

Sorry for posting to the wrong thread! I access the forum using google "bitcointalk ozcoin" and it shows the litecoin talk first :/
All my posts in this thread refers to the bitcoin talk...
(I'm using pool-x for litecoin)

Again, sorry...

Glad your having such a huge success. Ecoinpool could be one of the factors helping with FPGA's. p2k has been quiet lately with work but had been around to get more information needed to improve ecoinpool even more.

stats are fixed
this will not affect payouts :)

Your bitcoin pool use DGM method, which is anti-hopping.
What about your litecoin pool ? Since it uses proportional reward type, does it have anti-hopping measure as well ?

Title: Re: Ozcoin Litecoin Pool proportional payouts port80 mining available
Post by: wknight on July 20, 2012, 07:55:40 PM
As of right now no one is hopping Litecoin as there is only two prop pools as of last week. However, this doesnt mean it wont happen. We have already begun to work on our new Litecoin pool in which it will be using our current setup as everyone has grown to love. This means DGM and PPS.

Our main coding crew is focused on our Main Bitcoin pool as this time. As soon as things are fixed with our shares issue and diff setting on one of our larger mining servers we will focus on Litecoin upgrade to the new pool.

During this time I will continue to run the current Litecoin setup and work with many other great people for help.

Of course it is! And in fact, I just did some math and realized that the difficulty to submit a share is higher, but as because of this there are also less shares submitted per round, each user ends up earning the same as before, at least in the long term. The only difference is that one gets less "yay!!!" on the miner output.

Auto payout has been moved to 4hourly, was 12 hourly for a while.

We have updated with coblee's latest litecoind to help with the upcoming "attack"
Please have a p2pool or solo backup strategy, the "attacker" has told me we will be one of the 1st to be attacked
We have taken some measures to protect the pool but cannot guarantee continued service through a sustained ddos attack.

Never saw this before: block 180,009 solved by both myself and bombr.

Same block from two miners in the same pool at the same time, what are the odds.

So, how does the pool software handle that? Just pick one and send it?

1: its what bullies do, apparently some retard in a shoutbox upset someone now "litecoin has to pay", we run a litecoin pool ....
2: no idea - ask them - though to big note themselves, cause fear, uncertainty and doubt, and crash prices are theories
3: someone that takes pleasure in destroying other peoples work :(

actually no idea, just taking precautions where we can against threats.

um no
the pool software allocates the same block number to blocks found within the same cron job period, ie 2 blocks discovered close together get tagged by the pool with the same number in the stats display.
they are not actually the same block -display error
otherwise one would be an orphan.
it is something I am very aware of
hopefully with the move to DGM we can lose some of these glitches - unfortunately due to the other crap going on in litecoinworld this is being further delayed :(

Hi

It is not clear to me how Auto-payout is suppose to work here.
I set the Automatic Payout to 10LTC in Account Details settings and I have aprox 100LTC in my account (Current Balance).
It says that Auto Payouts are free and roll every hour but since yesterday no payouts have been made.

Hi with the sudden increase in hashrate and thus load we changed auto payout to 4 hourly as one of the measures to cope.
the pool is now running at highewr hashrate than the enitre network was a few weeks ago.

Overnight (mytime) there was an issue with an upstream provider, the Litecoin pool was offline for some hours

Ozcoin Stats page shows lifetime shares of zero while at the same time showing a positive hash rate during the last 24 hours.

Also.. 'im getting a 3.8% stale rate.. Is that typical or a bit higher than normal? My stale rate is a bit lower at another lower difficulty pool. I'm assuming you don't pay for stales...

I'm getting under 3% stales now.

I had a question about the automatic payouts. It says they "roll out every hour," and I assume that's based on the number I place in the box. I put in 10, and I have had over ten coins in the system for over six hours. (26 as of this post)  I'm guessing they don't "roll out" every hour then?

When i mined on this pool the auto payouts would never work.

on the other hand.. it does not appear that the 2% fee for manual payout is in effect currently. so i'd probably just use that for the time being.

"coins in the system" do you mean "current balance"?

I'm getting under 3% stales now.

I had a question about the automatic payouts. It says they "roll out every hour," and I assume that's based on the number I place in the box. I put in 10, and I have had over ten coins in the system for over six hours. (26 as of this post)  I'm guessing they don't "roll out" every hour then?

d
Should be running every 2 hours - we need to change the txt there
"coins in the system" do you mean "current balance"?

Yes, confirmed balance at the time was 26.xx and unconfirmed was ~7.xx, and the estimated was an additional X.xx for the current round.

However I noticed a w/d came in earlier. Was it automatic, or did you do it Graet? Thanks.

Thanks for letting us know Graet.  Do you have a rough guess regarding a timeframe on fixes and/or migration?  The errors are killing me.

I gave this 48 hours.  I am switching off back to LTCpool until the promised redesign and errors are fixed. (I'll still keep oz on failover though)

If I may add a request to the redesign, one thing that bothers me with the stats in the sidebar is the way the information is presented.

I would like to know all of these, somewhere on the site, where it is deemed most convenient?:

  • Estimated earnings for the current block
  • Unpaid/Unconfirmed earnings
  • Total paid earnings
  • Last 24 hours paid
  • Lifetime paid earnings
  • Current round stale rate percent
  • Total found blocks

If they are already in the works, then my bad.  Thanks for reading.

some people are finding issues connecting after the move, flushing DNS might help

also a reminder this pool was setup when LTC was CPU only and was never expected to handle 10Mh let alone the 30+Mhash it runs at currently with GFX cards, we have another more robust setup in development, but currently the LTC pool is what it is..

i'm mining on newlc.ozco.in DGM  for 18 hours now.

my average hasrate reported by pool 6528kh
difficulty 38.892
pool luck around 1 [is it important at all on DGM ?]
should make 169LTC  per 24h, -2% fee = 165LTC   which should be 124LTC per 18h

and i got only 60LTC

something eats my coins.

im getting HALF the reward that i got earlier on Coinotron, burnside's, notroll.in

I cant see reward per time / per block rising so that it could level at proper ratio leter,
it leveled at 50% reward after half an hour from start.

i waited to see pool luck settled back to 1 with this post, but i can see now with lucky blocks nothing has changed - DGM adjusted share price to a stable 50% reward.

Site was under attack today :(
we have setup https://lc.ozcoin.net for ssl website
mining will continue on newlc.ozco.in port 80 now available as well as 9332

xorxor the database says you are on PPS
pool luck does matter very much with DGM

how long did you mine for, DGM rewards ramp up over rounds but when you stopped mining you would continue to be paid for rounds after you stop, this evens up the "ramp up" time
happy to discuss it in PM

i mined 18 hours on DGM , than switched pps to test how it works, thats why you see PPS in database.

i understand pplns and dgm is different than pps and rbpps , i mined a lot on dgm at emc. thats why i waited with this post until my dgm payouts were completely  finished .

newlc.ozco.in seems down. Did you take down the old (closed) pool and move the new pool to https://lc.ozcoin.net from now on? Will I have to transition my workers from newlc.ozco.in to something else?

Edit: I used to be able to hit 80 via www but now since that is used for mining I'll move to https://lc.ozcoin.net like i probably should've.

It is a little confusing because the first post on this thread contradicts what is on the site.

Hey all, I have just started mining on my gaming machine. I have been testing mining programs and various configurations to get a decent hash rate and acceptable power/cooling levels.

I have settled on 1200KHs, this is still running a little hot but I can hopefully drop the voltage down a bit.
Well CGMiner reports 1.2M but the website reports 1400-1600KHs, which is correct?

Which payout scheme is recommended?
I am currently on DGM with the 2+2% fee. What exactly does extra 2% donation for VIP Membership give me?

they state that they pay for stale and or orphaned blocks. though i do not fully understand that concept ether. THOUGH recently i have been mining alot more stale blocks so it seems i need to have donation set on... but other pools like 50btc has half the stales so i may be changing pools soon.

DGM has varience.. PPS is steady income.

2% donation pays out on orphan blocks.. consider it like an insurance policy.

Not enough information to diagnose. My suggestion if at all possible is to drop into our chat channel #ozcoin on freenode. This way we can work with you on making sure your connecting to the correct server. Using scrypt. etc. etc

As soon as you hit your Payout Threshold in LTC: money is on its way.

To set this..

User Account --> Pool Options.

Payout Threshold in LTC:

Make sure you have your LTC address also set.

I've been mining on a few other ltc pools with 4-6% rejects. At this point in time I'm receiving exponentially less rejects and liking the lower difficulty. Mega thumbs up from me!

I'm also getting lower rejects on this LTC pool with about 98% accepted. This same machine was getting 5-7% rejects on other LTC pools. This is still lower than the 99.5%+ acceptance I see on my BTC miners.
